Nash was worried about what Travis had asked her. He wondered why Travis hadn't come to him with any concerns, and that thought immediately made him think that Travis must not be happy and had taken it out on Dal. It confused him when she reassured him that this wasn't the case, though he was glad his son hadn't been disrespectful to his fiancee.
His eyes widened a bit, surprised as she told him what the real question was. Travis had asked her if he could call her mom and she said it was okay. He looked away for a moment thinking how hard this must be on his son, and feeling horrible that he had never had someone to call that name before. When he looked back up at Dal, he saw a wonderful person who had just been extremely kind to his son, but he didnt think she'd actually want to be that to him. She was still young and he was already 5. Not many women would want to take that on.
"You didn't have to agree to that" He told her a bit worried about the consequences of the agreement. If Travis started to call her mom, and she didnt take on that role completely, what would that do to his son? And what pressures would Dal be under to fill a role that wasn't her responsibility to fill. "Its a lot to ask...and I'm sure Travis doesnt see that...I can talk to him tomorrow"

Lyndal saw the shock on his face as she explained Travis’ question and her answer. Of course it was a shock, she’d been shocked but also elated to be asked that. She and Nash hadn’t talked about it, but she was marrying him and felt it was right. She wanted to be his mother and truly hoped Nash could see that too.
“I wanted too, he asked and I told him I’d like it, but he didn’t have to do it if he wasn’t ready.” She said wanting Nash to know everything that had been said between her and Travis, she was reluctant to call him his son now that she was willingly answering to the name Mom. “I know its a lot to ask and I know what the name and the responsibility means, but I can handle it and it’s a role I want.” She told him starting to frown.
“Are you sure you don’t think its me that can’t see it? Or do you simply not want him to call me mom?’ She asked wondering if she really thought it was all some fairy tale that the name meant nothing and that she was merely wrapped up in the romance of the whole thing. Or did he really not want his son calling her mom? “I know what I all means Nash, I knew what I was saying when I said he could call me it. I want it, I want to be your son’s mom.” she said feeling frustrated but trying to stay quiet.

"That was really nice of you to say that to him" Nash told her as she explained what she had told Travis. It was nice to hear that she let him decide what he was ready for, she wasn't pushing him in either direction, but he still worried that if his son latched on to her, she may not be ready for full fledged mom duties yet.
Nash looked at her a little nervously as she told him she understood about the responsibility and that it was something that she wanted. "Are you sure...you know that you don't have to right? I dont expect you to take that extra role as soon as we're engaged or even married...you two could take time if you want"
Nash could hear the frustration in her voice and instantly felt guilty for having caused her to get upset. He hadn't been trying to doubt her or to push her away from his son's life, but to him he had always known it was just his son. He had never considered anyone else wanting to get involved in the parenting. Not after Michelle left. "Its not that I dont want him to call you that...its just a big step. I'm glad that he's accepting this enough to think of calling you mom, and that you're this okay with it..I just guess I wasnt expecting it."

To Lyndal she didn’t see it as nice, she considered herself Travis maternal figure and very much wanted to be in that role. She nodded to Nash not wanting to tell him it wasn’t a big deal when she knew it was, but to her it was also very natural.
“I’m ready now Nash.” Lyndal said honestly letting all the emotion she felt flood her voice, to her it was an honor and something she was very ready for. “I’m not doing this because we’re getting married, I’m doing this because I love Travis very much. I want to be his maternal figure and if he wants to call me mom then I’m happy with that.” She said hoping she sounded as mature as she felt with all that was happening. It was a chosen maturity and she certainly didn’t feel robbed of anything.
His resistance and, seeming, negativity to the situation frustrated Lyndal but it also hurt. She had assumed Nash would be happy with the new bond between Travis and Her. “I’m in his life and happy with all that happening. We’re a family however unconventional we are. Are you jealous?” She asked with a tilt of her head and an arched eyebrow. Dal wasn’t accusing him if been jealous, she just wondered if he was jealous of the close bond she was choosing when he hadn’t been given a choice.
“what were you expecting? Me to run at the first sign of commitment?” She asked stepping closer to him her eyes locked on his. “I didn’t run when you said we were soul mates, or that you were a wolf, so why would I run when a beautiful little boy, who I love almost as much as I love his dad, asks if I can be his mommy?” She stopped millimeters from his face, her lips towards his. “I want to be his mom, as much as I want to be your wife. And both in every way.” She said letting the implications hang but adding in a smile to her flirting.
