Normally Daylan took everything in his stride, nothing phased him or worried him; he’d even adjusted the whole wolf thing with ease. Now things were changing, he found himself on edge, nervous and watching everything he said and did. He was in love with his sister and everything was awkward and difficult.
At home he had to try and act as if she was nothing more then a sister and house guest when all he wanted to do was take her in his arms and tell her how much he really loved her. His father, or their father as he had to remind himself to call him, seemed to be reveling in the idea of a sister in the family; Day found himself hating his father for been so happy and for what he’d done to his mother all those years ago.
When he was in wolf form and phased with the rest of the pack day found himself hiding his feelings for Kele as much as possible. He was sure the rest of the pack would think it was dirty and wrong like some had thought about Quil imprinting on Claire. He couldn’t bare for people to think his love for Kele was wrong when it felt like the most natural and amazing thing in the world to him.
The only person who knew everything was Nash, his best friend and brother. Even telling him had scared Daylan, but what he wanted to do now he was too afraid to tell anyone. After their shared kisses Daylan had been even more sure that she was his imprintee and soul mate. With their DNA tests away somewhere in a lab been tested Daylan knew it was only a matter of time till they all knew the truth, but he couldn’t wait not matter how long or short it was.
It had all taken less then an hour to do it. To book a flight, a hotel and arrange the appointment at the chapel. Sure it might seem tacky to some, but it was the quickest and most secretive way to do it, even though he wanted to scream it to everyone that he loved Kele and wanted to be with her forever. All he had to do now was tell her or atleast convince her to come with him.
Heading up to his family home Day opened the door feeling butterflies in the pit of his stomach, nervous feelings. Dropping his bag and helmet to the floor he trudged though to the kitchen, “Kele? You home?” Day knew his dad was at work or at a bar watching sports, the alone time with Kele would have to be the time he needed the flights were booked for the weekend just 2 days away. “Kel, I need to talk to you.” He said filling s glass with watch and grabbing left over pizza from the refrigerator.

Kele was upstairs in the room she had been calling home these past couple months. She still wasnt sure it actually felt like home, always nervous and watching out for when the rug would be pulled out from under her feet. She knew that was even more likely with the way she felt about Daylan, her own brother. She was sure that if their father found out, he'd kick her out and tell her to get as far away from his son as possible. She was the newcomer to the family, she knew she'd be given the boot, and truthfully she wouldnt want Day kicked out. But she also couldnt bear to think of being seperated from him. She loved him, as wrong and against all forces of nature that it may be.
Daylan had told her a lot to try to reassure her, confessing about what he was, and what they were, soulmates. She believed him but wasnt sure she followed his logic that this meant they couldnt be siblings. Maybe if they had been raised together, that would have been true, but they werent, so surely the imprinting thing could mess up. But she had agreed to the DNA test after awhlie, and after seeing just how convinced he was that they didnt share blood. But she was sure that he had no idea just how devastated she'd be if they didnt. Yes it would be great for them, to not be doing something others would see as disgusting, but for her, her identity would be lost, and she really would have no family left in the world. She was hanging on to the Kele's and felt conflicted about what results she hoped for, though she'd never tell Daylan that. He had enough to worry about with their sneaking around.
Kele heard the door open downstairs and after hearing Daylan's voice immediately felt that familiar surge of warmth and comfort that his presence always brought her. She was always happy to see him and it always lifted her mood. She heard him say he needed to talk to her and got worried for a moment, rushing down the stairs to find him with his head in the fridge. "Yeah I'm here, is everything okay?

The chill of the refrigerator did little to cool his skin, nothing chilled his skin since the he’d first phased to wolf form. He was hungry, he always was, another wolf trait except this one was something he actually liked a nice excuse to eat. Pulling out left over pizza and soda Day bit into the pizza with out warming in as he listened to Kele rush down the stairs.
Been away from her even for a day was torture. It was worst when he’d come home to find his father home knowing then he couldn’t take Kele in his arms like he constantly wanted to do. Not having the paper work to prove his feelings of their lack of shared DNA made it hard to tell his dad he was in love with Kele. He hoped this weekend would convince her. Again the idea of her becoming his wife sent a chill of excitement through his being.
Standing up Day saw her and smiled, she was beautiful and ever time was like the first time for him. Smiling he finished chewing his cold pizza before talking. “Everything’s fine. Great.” He said heading towards her to wrapping her into his arms and kissing her head. He held the pizza away from her back to save her shirt from the grease. “I just wondered if you had plans for this weekend?” He asked causally biting another chunk of pizza and chewing quickly buying himself time to figure out how to asked her about the weekend. Swallowing he smiled again.

Kele smiled brightly as she saw Daylan and he confirmed that everything was fine. So long as Daylan was fine then nothing could be wrong with the world. She met him at the bottom of the stairs and put her arms around him, a luxury she didnt have when there was anyone else around. Daylan was the one who had told her repeatedly that this was right and okay. And despite the nagging feeling in the back of her mind that siblings shouldnt be acting this way, when she was alone with Daylan, she tried to give in to the feelings in her heart that longed to be in his arms.
She appreciated that he had kept the grease from the pizza away from her clothes and after getting her embrace took a step back so that he could eat in peace without her clinging to him (though she knew he'd never push her away).
"This weekend?" Kele said thinking for a moment and then shaking her head. "No I don't have anything planned, how about you?" She asked him in turn. She hoped that he wasnt about to tell her he had to work all weekend (or patrol), or was hoping she had plans so he could get away for a guys night out.

Daylan watched her as she thought about the weekend and any plans she may have. As she pushed the pizza into his mouth he sent out a silent wish that she didn’t have plans that couldn’t be broken; the things he had planned we non refundable. He wasn’t sure he could push them back and hold his nerve…everyone else still thought they were siblings, this would be a big taboo if anyone found out. “Actually, we have plans.” he said swallowing the pizza and following it with a slug of soda. “I was thinking we could go away. Together. Just the two of us.” He smiled trying to sound relaxed and not give away his intentions.
Unable to hold her eyes for a moment longer for fear of bursting out with the surprise Day turned on his heel and stalked back to the refrigerator. “I was thinking we could get off the rez and out of town.” He said looking for something else to eat and giving his eyes and mind something else to focus on, staring at her he knew he was sure to give it away. “Maybe somewhere fun and crazy.” He laughed standing up from the cool box and looking at her as he grabbed cold chicken to heat up.

Kele let herself smile as he told her that they had plans and he wanted to go away together just the two of them. She loved being with him and if they were somewhere else she wouldnt have to always be afraid of someone seeing them. She thought it was sweet of Daylan to even think of something like that. "Yeah?" She said happily at the thought, but a part of her thinking it was too good to be true. Just like when she found Daylan, the perfect man, who treated her wonderfully and made her feel loved, but was related to her and completely who she shouldnt be with.
"That sounds nice" Kele responded as he suggested they get out of town for a little while. She laughed as he mentioned something fun and crazy. "You're not thinking about going bungee jumping or skydiving or something like that are you?" She started thinking of other fun and crazy things they could do, she considered suggesting they go skinny dipping, but the fear of the wrongness of even suggesting kept her from mentioning it while they were still in this house.

Seeing her face light up in a smile made Day smile, he couldn’t wait to see how truly happy she’d be when she found out all he had planned. “Yea, I figured we could be alone somewhere.” He said lowering his voice a little incase his father had come in unheard. “But its all a surprise. All I’m saying is you should probably bring the bikini you have upstairs.” He winked teasingly remembering she’d been putting it away when they first met.
Daylan laughed when she checked what they’d be doing. He was tempted to tease her and tell her it was an action holiday, but he knew she’d worry and he hated to see her worried or anxious. “Its just a trip away together. Just the two of us. I promise no cliff diving, sky diving or anything else you’ll worry about.” He smiled crossing the kitchen towards her to rest his hands on her shoulders. “Just you and me far far away form the Rez and this house. Ok?” he said dipping his head to brush his lips chastely against hers.

Kele smiled with a little blush to her cheeks as he mentioned her bringing the bikini she had with her. "Happily" She told him, knowing she'd enjoy being able to wear it for him without worrying that someone might see him looking at her a little too long. "Does this mean we're going someplace warm?" She asked hopefully. She liked the reservation but the cold chill to the air was something she'd be happy to get away from for a few days.
Kele laughed as Daylan explained it was just a trip together and they wouldnt be doing anything she'd have to be worried about. "Okay, you really do want this to be a surprise" She nodded as he explained it would just be the two of them away from the rez and the house. She hoped that it wouldnt be the last time they'd be able to be together, maybe he wanted a few days alone while they still had the doubt that she may not be related. Once it was confirmed she doubted he'd be so comfortable being close to her like this. "I like the sound of that" She told him, nervously returning his light kiss, though ready to step back if she heard anything.

Watching the blush take to Kele’s cheeks Daylan couldn’t help smiling, both at the effect he had on her and at the idea of seeing her in the bikini. “Oh its definitely going to be warm, think desert hot.” he smiled and winked wondering if he’s given too much away with that single clue. “Its going to be real hot. Then again anywhere is hotter then here, huh?” He smirked knowing the weather on the Plympic Peninsula was hardly what she was used to.
“You like surprises right?” He asked not sure he would have the guts to tell her right now is she didn’t. Daylan knew what he was arranging and going to do would be the biggest moment in his life, he couldn’t face the idea of her backing out of it because she was still worried about the sibling thing.
When he kissed her, but was aware of her nerves at them been so open in the house. “He wont be back for hours.” Daylan said gently putting his arms around her and pulling her to a hug.

"Desert hot?" She repeated the words. She wondered if he was taking her back to New Mexico where she grew up. It was hot there. She didnt voice her thoughts though, excited instead to see where he had picked, not caring if he just wanted to spend a weekend away at a bed and breakfast in Seattle. "You're right about that, no wonder some of you adapt to the cold " She said hinting at the secret she had learned about him not too long ago.
She looked at him curiously as he asked if she liked surprises. "Yeah, I guess ... I mean I like good surprises" She said, knowing there were bad surprises too. If he wanted to end this or had found someone else, that would be a bad surprise. But he didnt look like he was pulling away or had bad news so she tried to focus on the positive of going on a trip with him alone.
She smiled as he assured her after their kiss that his father wouldnt be home for hours. It was as if he knew her every thought. As he put his arms around her she leaned into him, putting her arms around him. "We wont have to worry about this, this weekend" She commented thinking it would be nice to not constantly worry someone would see them.

“You can ask any questions you like, but I’m not giving anything away miss Kele.” He smiled wondering if she’d take that as another hint. The his mind span off on a tangent wondering just what name she’d use once they were married. He smiled as he wondered about her been his wife in just a few days. As she hinted at his secret he smiled glad that she shared in his life’s biggest secret, though at the moment the weekend away was his big secret. Even though it was a surprise he felt terrible keeping anything from her.
Daylan smiled back at her, “You’ll like this surprise, it’s a good one. Well I think it is.” He said knowing it would be good if she’d agree to it, if not he wasn’t sure where that would leave them or take them. In truth it wasn’t something he wanted to think about. He couldn’t imagine her say no to him.
Kele was right, for a whole weekend they wouldn’t have to worry about been seen together or been caught. It would be heavenly and when they came back Daylan hoped no one would care, he never did. “Yep a whole weekend of doing whatever we want and not caring who sees.” He smiled pulling her closer to his body. “We fly out Friday afternoon and back late Sunday, Peace.” He smiled.

Missing his hint completely, Kele gave a mock frustrated sigh. "Fine then, I guess I'll just have to wait and see for myself" She said as he refused to answer her questions. She smiled back as she saw the smile on his face at the mention of his secret. It was something that made her feel incredibly close to him. Even if she wasnt completely sure on the whole imprinting part, knowing the wolf aspect made her really feel like he trusted her. It was comforting.
"Okay, well if you think its a good surprise then hopefully I will too. " Kele told him, thinking they'd look at it the same way. "So how long do i have to wait before I find out the surprise?" She asked. "Or is that another question I dont get an answer to? "
The smile was stuck on Kele's face for a moment as she just thought about having that weight off their shoulders even for a few days. Not looking to make sure they weren't getting caught or worrying how a wrong glance could be interpreted. It would be a relaxing weekend. She gave him a curious look as he mentioned when they'd be flying. "You already have the tickets?"

Daylan was glad she hadn’t picked anything up form his slip of the Miss part, he was starting to second guess his words and actions for fear of giving anything away.
When she sighed Day laughed. “Yes you need to wait and see what I’ve got planned for you.” He said, “well for us.” He corrected knowing that at the end of the weekend they truly would be a unit, and us. Day hoped Kele would trust him enough to let him lead her into the total unknown. It wasn’t just the married life that was unknown, that they would be something they’d face together. The unknown for her would be the wedding plans he made, he just hoped she’d like them.
How long would she have to wait? It was a good question Daylan wasn’t sure when he would tell her, or how to tell her. Instead he smiled. “You’ll see when we get there. It’ll all be clear, or not.” he said cryptically and with a glint of teasing. “That was an answer, just not a straight one.” he told her.
Day had it all planned, they’d leave mid afternoon and arrive in time for the Vegas lights, from there he was still thinking it up. “Yea I have the tickets, kinda hoping you’d be free.” He shrugged realizing he’d have lost more then money if she hadn’t have wanted to go with him. “I guess it was a long shot, but I’m glad you said yes.”

"Okay, I'll wait, but you should be glad I dont have to wait longer than this weekend, or I'd find ways to get it out of you" Kele teased him, knowing she wouldnt be able to wait patiently if he was talking about a surprise a month from now. She still had no idea what it could be.
"It'll be clear or not...real clear yourself there Day" She told him with a laugh as he said that was an answer. "So if its not clear will you at least help make it clear once we get there? If its as clear as your answer I have a feeling I'll be lost for awhile" She told him jokingly.
Kele was surprised to hear that he already had the tickets. He had put out the money to go wherever they were going, on the hope that she'd have been free to go and would want to. Though he probably knew that she didnt have a lot of other commitments to worry about. "I'm glad I did too, I wouldnt have wanted anything to go to waste. "

“I don’t think I could wait longer then the weekend.” half laughed knowing it was totally true. Day knew if he had longer to think about it he’d probably chicken out, making the excuse he didn’t want to pressure Kele. Or just try to settle for her been happy thinking he was her brother, but he wasn’t sure she was totally happy in that. She certainly didn’t act like a sister, something he was glad of; it was that hope that spurred the plans.
Daylan laughed, he hadn’t meant his clue to be clear, he was been cryptic but he knew it was probably more confusing then anything. “Everything will be perfectly clear once we get there. I wont need to explain.” he smiled knowing it was probably a good thing as he’d probably be too nervous. “All you’ll need to do is be there for it all to fit perfectly into place.” Just the two of them and some passers by and they’d be man and wife, sure he was upset Nash wouldn’t be there or even his dad, but in truth he had all he needed in Kele.
Daylan wouldn’t have cared about the money, all he cared about was making his soul mate his wife and been with her as they should be. When he’d suggested it to Nash about selling the bike his friend had been only to happy to help out. Nash might have been more worried about the loss of money then Day ever was, he knew Kele well enough to know it’d work out. “The money wouldn’t have been the waste.” He said kissing her again. “Any way don’t worry, its all sorted. All you have to do is be packed and ready to go when I pick you up at 1.30 on Friday.” he told her firmly.
