(....Tag Kele....a year post Breaking Dawn....)
The drive to the airport had been hell, namely because Day was bouncing with anticipation of seeing Kele’s face when she saw his plan. If it hadn’t been for Nash Day would have been stuck, he certainly couldn’t afford the weekend fees for parking there. Having said goodbye to his best friend complete with a shared look for luck, Day carried the bags into the airport and towards the counter.
It all had to go quick and smooth, he didn’t want Kele to back out or question his plans. Heading up to the check in counter he smiled and handed over the confirmation numbers before paying for the bags and putting them through to be loaded. It was all quick, and Day was thankful the check in assistant kept him busy enough for Kele to not question the destination.
Turning back to her and walking away he slipped her arm around her waist and smiled. “So ready for our weekend away? I know it’s a little less of a secret now, but are you excited?” He asked with a smile, but he could feel the nervousness and apprehension churning in his gut.

Kele could barely stand the wait and anticipation any longer. Friday couldn't come soon enough for her. She wondered where they were headed and what Daylan had planned with all of his secrecy. She had gone out dress shopping with Rayen earlier in the week to get something nice to wear that she hoped Day would like. She ended up finding a light pink satin dress with a low cut v-neck and sequins at the top. It was definitely evening-wear, and maybe a bit too formal (having no idea where they were going) but she knew even if she was just going to a fast food restaurant with him, she wanted to look nice for him. To have the opportunity to dress up just for him and not worry about what others would think, was something she never had the chance too before.
Kele was looking forward to this weekend for so many reasons. Spending time away from the reservation just the two of them would be wonderful. But the timing was also perfect. After taking the DNA test, she really needed this to get her mind off of the agony of waiting for the results. She was scared to get them, and ashamed to admit that either way the results went, she'd feel she lost a part of herself.
She appreciated that Nash had driven them to the airport that day and had agreed to pick them up after. It wasn't until the bags were checked that Kele found out where they were going. Las Vegas. She couldnt believe it! She had to wait until he finished the the clerk before she could question it. "Excited? That doesn't even begin to describe it" She squeeled a little. "I can't believe we're going to Vegas! Day...thank you for this."

Daylan felt sick with nervousness as he check in the bags with the ticket agent. His nerves were on edge for several reasons, but as soon as they stepped away from the counter the first of those was rectified. “I’m glad you’re excited. A whole weekend in sin city.” he smiled brightly glad to see her so relaxed and excited, he offered a little wink at the sin part. “You don’t have to thank me, its my vacation too. Besides, the trip is only part of it.” He said with a knowing smile loving to keep her guessing as to what could be coming.
Grabbing her hand he walked towards the security line falling into place behind the other waiting flyers. This was the other part of his nerves. Daylan was a rez boy, he’d left the rez a million times, but he’d only left the state a handful of times and none of them in a plan. He was scared to death of flying.
“So I have a confession….” He said looking down the line and then to Kele as he lowered his voice so as not to seem a total wimp to the others in line. “I’ve never flown before….and I’m scared to death.” he said with none of his usual joking vibes or easy going attitude. He could fight a coven of vampires, chase through the wood and tussle with his wolf brothers, but the idea of been in a metal can high up in the air scared him to death.

Kele blushed a little seeing Daylan's wink as he emphasized the word sin in sin city. Kele was pretty sure that even standing next to him right now with the way that she felt about him, was a sin, and surely a weekend away with him would ensure they both went to hell. The way that she felt about him, was worth the sin. "I still can't believe we have a whole weekend to ourselves, no interruptions" She said smiling as he told her she didnt need to thank him because it was his vacation too. "Its still something nice you planned for me, so you deserve my thanks" She insisted. "What more is there besides Las Vegas?" She said still curious of what other surprises he could possibly have in store for her. Maybe he had gotten her tickets to one of the shows down there, or was going to take her to the casino for a night. She was sure the tickets for this trip alone probably cost a lot and hoped he wasn't planning to spend too much, not wanting him to feel like he had to waste his money on her.
Daylan's hand felt so warm as he grabbed hers, leading her towards the security line. She always enjoyed feeling any sort of physical contact from him, even when it made her feel guilty for enjoying it. But at the airport she knew the chances of running into anyone who knew who they were, were slim, so she felt more comfortable holding his hand in public. She knew once they were in Vegas they could really act like a couple.
Kele looked over at Daylan as he told her he had a confession, she smiled ready for another one of his jokes and as he told her what it was, at first she really believed it was a joke, but then saw just how serious he seemed. She was surprised, having never guessed that Day would have been afraid to fly. He never seemed to be afraid of anything, always so calm and cool. She gave him an understanding smile and nodded as she moved her hand from his hand to around his waist so that she could lean into him. "Don't worry, I'll be right here with you. I'll help you through it" She said trying not to sound like she was belittling his fears.

A whole weekend and, if all went well, a whole life ahead of them with her as his wife. The very thought sent chills of excitement anticipation through him. The hand that was free instinctively checked his pocket, and he smiled when he felt the familiar spuare shape there. He couldn’t risk it been in their luggage, that and Nash had given it too him when they’d hugged go bye. He’d kept it out of the house for fear she or his dad had found it. “Well you’re welcome, but I think I should thank you for coming with me.” He smiled then laughed as she asked what more there was. “Oh don’t try that, I’ve kept this secret long enough so I think you can wait a few more hours.” he said with a smile, he was happy no he was ecstatic to be with her and he didn’t care who saw how happy he was.
Moving towards security he got nervous, the wedding was slipped to the back of his mind behind the flight. He could change into a wolf with ease and fight vampires, but the thought of flying in the air scared him. A part of him was worried the stress would trigger a change, and that was certainly the last thing he needed right now. Daylan was determined to leave the wolf part of him on the Rez.
Hearing her calming words and watching her face Day felt himself relax. She didn’t mock him as he may have been tempted to do in her shoes, she simply reassured him. The calm only solidified in his head how certain he was about the whole Imprinitng and therefore marriage thing. ‘Thank you.” He said leaning into press his lips gently to hers.
The lou, unsubtle cough behind them made Day smile and he pulled back enough to move on in the line. Approaching the security check poin the removed his coat, careful to fold it so the pocket was inside; he couldn’t risk it falling out. Kicking off his shoes, instantly comfortable barefoot, Day wriggled his toes and stepped forward. “There’s a ring in the jacket. She doesn’t know.” He smiled at the security guard and nodded to Kele as he stepped through the detector.

"You definitely don't need to thank me for going with you. I'm happy to" Kele told him, knowing the truth was that no one had ever really wanted her to go anywhere with them before, not like this. Day always made her feel special, she knew she wouldn't have said no to a trip out of town with him, it was just as much a treat for her. She giggled a bit out of excitement as he insisted on keeping his secret a little longer. "I thought maybe you were ready to let it out...I just hope I packed ok for everything" She said knowing now that the dress she had gotten with Rayen would fit in well in Vegas (at least from what she had seen of it on TV). She hoped Day liked it when he saw it too.
Kele had been surprised to learn of Daylan's fear of flying but she knew it was a common one. She had never really guessed that he'd have any fears, especially after learning what he was and what his "second job" entailed. A person who was ready to face vampires at any time wasn't someone she'd have thought to have fears, but she didn't think less of him for it, it reminded her that despite his abilities he was still human. The man she loved.
She thought that she saw him relaxed a little at her words and hoped they could help at least a little. She would help to talk him through it, help him breath as they got on the plane, anything she could to make it easier. He was always there for her, now it was her chance. She tilted her head up, returning his gentle kiss before hearing the cough behind them. She looked down a little embarrassed but knew that unlike their house, or even the reservation, it wasn't shame she had to feel for kissing him. Maybe it would turn out that she' d never have to feel that way again. Kele placed her purse and carryon luggage on the conveyor belt before slipping off her shoes and checking to make sure she hadn't worn any metal jewelry that day. She didn't even notice Day talking to the security guard before going through the detector. She walked through without a problem and gathered her things on the other side, slipping the shoes back on. "I can't believe we're going to Vegas!" She said as their location started to sink in.

He didn’t have to thank her, but he wanted to he constantly wanted her to feel special about everything they did. Watching her giggle he smiled. “Everyone is entitled to secrets, especially when they are as awesome as this one is.” he said confidently, he knew she’d never guess and even if he did she wouldn’t guess it all. “You would look amazing in anything. Like what you’re wearing now…amazing…hey don’t you think my girlfriend looks amazing?’ he asked a passing traveler then smiled and laughed as the man nodded. “See, its not just me who thinks you’re gorgeous.”
Picking up his jacket he shrugged into it before putting his feet, reluctantly, back into his shoes. “You know, the rez has its perks.’ He grumbled pulling at the collar of his t shirt and wriggling his now cramped toes, “But yea, this is going to be amazing. A little gambling, a little swimming, lots of fun. Oh don’t forget I need to get something for Trav, I told him we would.” He said thinking of his ‘nephew’ with a smile.

"You've had me dying to know what this secret is from the time you brought it up! I'm surprised you kept it secret so long, but impressed...this whole trip is a great surprise" Kele told him honestly. She then laughed as Day told him she looked amazing even now, then asked a random stranger if she looked amazing. "Day!" She said a bit embarrassed, but grinning from ear to ear hearing him call her his girlfriend. They had kept so much in private that it was nice to publicly address even to a stranger that they were together. "Well thank you...I have a very handsome and kind boyfriend as well"
"Yeah the rest of the world has the whole no shirt no shoes policy the rez doesnt care about...I definitely don't complain when I'm there" She smiled, knowing it was always a nice view. "It will be amazing" She agreed smiling as he described all the things they could do. She nodded as he asked her to remind him to get something for Travis. "Of course, that's really sweet. I'm sure he'll love whatever you find"

Looking at the ticket and boarding time Daylan guided Kele in the direction of their gate, “This is my first time in and airport, I drove my dad here a few times, but I’ve never been in. Hope I like flying or we’ll have to drive back.” He laughed trying to relax a little and calm his own nerves.
“Yea, and I should get something for Nash.” he said already missing his pack brother, something he knew would be hard. He’s never been away form the Rez or Nash and certainly neither since becoming a wolf.
It was a little while later that they boarded the plane. Day took his seat nervously, leaving his coat on and tapping his pocket to check on the ring. “You ok?” he asked Kele with a smile, even with the fear he was excited to be doing it all with her.

"Well I'm not exactly a frequent flyer, but I've been on a plane a few times before. I'll help you through it. And if its too bad, we can always drive or take the train...extend our weekend a little longer" Kele told him, knowing he could handle the plane but not wanting him feeling uncomfortable either. If it made him too nervous she wouldnt mind driving back.
"I'm sure Nash would like that. You should pick out a souvenir for yourself too. Something I can get you as a thank you" Kele told him, wanting to repay him in some way for all of this, even if the best thing she could find was a cheesey gift shop souvenir.
Kele could see that Day was still nervous as they boarded the plane and headed to their seats. She was surprised to see him with the coat still on, not used to seeing him wear one at all, but she figured he wore it to fit in more in the airport. She nodded as he asked if she was okay, loving that he was still looking out for her. She took his hand hoping she could help to calm him at least a little. "Yeah, I'm good as long as you're around. How about you? The seats are pretty comfortable right? And its more like a little room than anything else." She said hoping to distract him with positives about the plane. "I think the flight should have snacks and drinks too"
