It was rather a little nerve racking despite the truth she'd already known. They'd been following their movements for some time now and along the way had made a few stops of their own. There would be time, because it was all they only had, but the faster they'd get there the easier things would be. After Alice had met Jasper, more like picked him up in a diner, they would travel by themselves for a few years. Something she hadn't done with another but it was nice all the places they had visited. Jasper's hunger on the other hand had been a little tricky and his thirst was quite stronger than her own. The room she'd checked them into was small and smelt of stale air and old carpet but it was the closes to the people whom would be their new family.
Around the time Alice had begun to see images of Jasper in her mind so had the images of a blonde vampire and his family emerged. A life of free will over their thirst for human blood had helped quenched her own thirst but her poor husband hadn't been so lucky. The fighting, the war, the blood shed had permanently left a mark on his very soul and it would take time. Jasper would overcome this and Alice would see to it. Yes, he would have relaspes but she would always be there to soothe the ache in his heart.
Tonight they would introduce themselves and she'd already known which room they would occupy. The thoughts of possibly decorating a space of her own were endless. It would be their sanctuary and place they could call home. Alice beamed as she closed the curtain at the window she'd been staring out of for some time. The people below walking quickly as the rain began to pour. New York seemed to be a wet and cold city from what she'd seen but it was just the right amount of mystery that she'd come to like. The only thing was the amount of close proximity of humans. It was like a pack of sardines for one tiny little city.
Looking around the room she stared at the bed, the sheets twisted, and the drawing came into view. Alice had drawn every family member and before her stood an exact replica from her mind. The blonde male, Carlisle, was a doctor and the brunette female, Esme, had the kindest eyes she'd ever seen. The other couple, Rosalie and Emmett, seemed like total opposites but they seem to mesh well with each other. Her forced smile was something that Alice would have to come to terms with but the few visions she'd had of Rosalie showed her true beauty and a beautiful smile. Emmett, a smile burst, he seemed to be the most amused one out of the family than lastly Edward. Edward seemed to be a troubled soul but with a little work, Alice knew they'd become close friends maybe siblings.
"Its been a long night..." Alice wanted to meet them as soon as possible.

Jasper eyed the drawing of the Cullen family on the bed that Alice drew for him. For them really. So they could see an actual physical representation of their goal. There were times when Jasper felt it was only Alice's goal. Jasper's...well his goal was to stay with Alice. If she wanted to go to the ends of the earth, he would gladly follow and make sure she didn't look over the edge...in fact, he might be more comfortable with the edge of the world than the Cullen family.
It wasn't that they were horrible people. Alice made it quite clear that they were good. Already, he had descriptions of this tricky to locate family that they would one day join. But...Jasper was still...hesitant. For one, they all drank animal blood. Ever since Jasper ran from Maria, he'd tried desperatley to stick to such a diet. Yet, as soon as a human got too close...it was like his drug of choice and an opium pipe was offered to him. There was no way he could back away. He had to inhale. Alice could manage. Only a few slip ups early on in their efforts. Jasper couldn't. And perhaps more painful then the knowledge that he had killed yet another human was that Alice holding him afterwards and telling him he'd do better next time with false confidence.
He loved his new wife. And she believed in him, but even she knew that he would fail. Time and time again, he would fail. So what good would it do to go to the Cullen family? For another set of eyes to know that he would fail? In his darkest thoughts, he thought that joining this family wouldn't be worth it despite his new wife's claims.
It wasn't just that which bothered Jasper though. They were a coven. He watched Maria build an empire of newborns. They too were a coven. What was to say that this coven wasn't as pure as they seemed? Or did they slip every so often? How did they even keep themselves out of the human's radar? There were so many questions, and at this point few answers.
While there were two problems, Alice outweighed it all. Jasper glanced up at his pixie. Her small features and slight movements made Jasper feel...giddy. A word that he was out of his vocabulary for years. Even sitting across from her that night at the diner, he knew something was different. For the better. And that whoever this beautiful woman was across from him...he would love her, protect her, and be with her forever. Alice was convinced that the Cullens were the right family for them. So despite all of Jasper's second thoughts, the Cullens had to be the right family for them.
"It has," Jasper said slowly and quietly as he tended to with all of his words. He stood by her, his hand gracing the small of her back. "That's them?" He asked, his golden eyes on the drawing on the bed. Turning to her, the corner of his lip curled slightly. Jasper's form of a small smile. "We'll find them soon enough. You found me. Finding one must be harder than five," He encouraged her, not wanting her impatience to win over her excitement.

His touch felt warm slightly against her back and it caused her to turn around to face him. One touch was all she needed to be reassured in whatever venture she'd taken them into. The last one had brought them to the shores of California where they'd gazed out into the dark blue waters. A storm was coming. In Alice's mind it always felt like a storm was coming just around the bend as it crept slowly blocking out the sunlight. The sunlight representing the memories and her former life. Would she really have wanted to know how she ended up there? No, there wasn't any need to bother herself with those issues right now. Right now all her time was spent watching, feeling and just being near her love.
Jasper's smooth texan drawl called her out of the day-dream, "Yes though I wish that I could catch Roselie's smile more often. It'll happen eventually." Unlike her empath husband, her talents lied within predictions and visions, Alice wasn't as patience as she should have been. It was like Christmas morning last year when she finally found the location of the Cullen family. It was just now how would they approach them? There were two males and two females with one of the males quite larger than the rest of them. A bear of sorts. Jasper would be able to easily take him down due to his skills but that wasn't going to happen. This family would welcome them in with open arms as she had done with her husband.
"You'd be surprise that finding five people is a lot harder than one person," Alice turned to face him, her eyes bright, slightly a little darker than normal, maybe her mood was because of her hungar, "We should hunt before we face them. It would due us well to be calmer..." Jasper had been having a hard time dealing with the transition but she'd been nudging him along though when he'd slip her arms were wide open. Alice would never judge him.
Alice slide her arms around her husband, they touched behind him, his waist small and his body lean and slender, "We will think of this as our new lives together." Her memories as a human were scarce if not non-existance and she'd already thought of Carlisle and Esme as mentors.

Jasper sensed Alice's worry. Her hope that this wouldn't drag on much longer than it already was. Negative feelings were simply a part of living. He knew that, but it just didn't seem fair for someone like Alice to feel the slightest bit of it. Using his abilities, Jasper attempted to soothe Alice. It would all be okay, his gift told her, although his eyes told her the same when she found his. "I have faith in you. In all of the time we've known each other...I know that your visions come true...and..." With Jasper's lips curling into a slight smile, "You do tend to get whatever your heart desires." Which was just fine by Jasper. He would give her the world if he could.
As Alice wrapped herself tighter around him, he couldn't help but feel comforted himself. It was almost like Alice was reading his thoughts previously. His worry about fitting in with this new clan was fading with her touch. Alice seemed to have a magic touch in more ways than one. Neither of them were small people, but their bodies just seemed to fit together. Jasper gently pressed his lips on Alice's forehead. Those small geastures of love was how he worked. Little touches, little reminders of how much he loved her. Not caring what the world thought. Though he did notice when they were out together, some people wouldn't understand their need to be so close. Always touching. Always near. Maybe it was because they had been through so much, they knew that there was no reason to waste time. Every moment was precious and needed to be filled with that person. They died once without each other, and they wouldn't let go now that they were together.
"It will be," Jasper agreed quietly. His slow Southern drawl coming through. "Course, just this time with you and me has been...nice."

It felt as if a warm blanket had been drapped across her and Alice knew that Jasper was trying to soothe her anxiety. Anxiety was an emotion she hardly felt but when it came it was something that bothered her and those arounds her, mainly Jasper, since it showed in all her actions and affected her sight. Little things would be blown out of proportion than they seemed. "You southern gentlemen are such the charmers, I'm lucky to have gotten me my cowboy," What they'd said about Texas men seemed true in Alice's eyes with the southern charm and the love they provided. Alice assumed she was from Mississipi but that was because it was where she'd woken up that night. Though if she was truly from there she wouldn't have known. "I just know where to look and how to attain what my heart desires," She smiled up at him after he'd kissed her forehead.
Jasper held her still and it was what they needed most but it was also for himself. The stress of feeling the emotions of anyone in the room didn't help with his own struggle with human blood. Alice always felt the need to stand next to him or be around him not only for his benefit but for her own. Though, there would come a time when they would need to be seperated for the time being but that wouldn't come to past in any future could see right now. The passing light of a car shone onto Jasper's face, illuminating the crescent shaped scars on his skin, it was one feature that Alice loved. He would probably have been ashamed of them but she'd told him there wasn't anything to be ashamed of. In Alice's eyes he was beautiful the way he is now.
"It has been nice not to have to answer to anyone but ourselves," Alice began, taking her hand and bringing it up to his face, "to move freely from state to state and see the wonders of this land." One of her favorite places to go had to have been Yellowstone Park. The earthy smells and the vast amount of trees with the abundance of food was a good training ground for them both.

Jasper's lips curled deeply. For some reason, he liked hearing her call him a southern gentleman. Maybe it was a connection to his past that was positive. The life that he lived before Maria turned him was a simple one, but it made him who he was. And his father was sure to teach him how to treat a lady, a lesson that he stuck to all of these years later. Or maybe he liked it simply because Alice liked that part of him. Anything that made Alice happy...he had to like it. "You know you only have to say your wish before it is yours." Sure, they were being romantic. But it was the truth. He would do anything for her.
Perhaps Alice had an ability much like his. It seemed with just her touch he was able to be comforted as well. He turned his head to kiss Alice's palm, which he took in his own hand...looking up at Alice with warmth in his golden eyes. "That it has," Jasper muttered knowing that he would be happy with the two of them on their own forever. "Perhaps we should enjoy these last few days we have to our own." Jasper offered by kissing both of her eyelids gently before kissing her lips.

"Yes, I know" Alice beamed, Jasper seemed to melt when she'd referred to him as her southern gentleman. Even if she herself lived borderline to the southern states the people she'd encountered before him never seemed to possess his grace and way of speaking. Of course, Jasper had told her of the time he was turned and from the books she'd read it was a peaceful time but also a time of war. The north and south were at war and innocent people were caught between. He'd also told her of the woman whom had turned him. The woman sounded unpleasant to Alice but it was because of that moment he was able to be here with her. Alice was grateful to Maria. "I have all that I've ever wished for here in my arms right now."
It was Alice's turn to melt against Jasper, her body falling against his, when he kissed her palm, the lips so soft, "That sounds like a good idea. They'll still be there when we finally arrive." The sound of rain outside their window was soothing as Alice kissed Jasper back, her fingers locking behind his neck as she brought him down closer to her. Carlisle and his family would be within the city for at least another month hopefully from what she saw.

It never ceased to amaze Jasper. How someone like Alice could see through his scars. His troubles. His efforts, and still love him all the same. Seeing her for the first time, he knew that the woman staring at him was special. But he had only begun to scratch the amazing surface that was his wife. As silly as it was, he thought that this might all be a dream. That he was still with Maria. Killing. Slowing losing all hope of any sort of soul he might have...and that this was his escape. To imagine breaking away and finding love. Having the hope of finding a family. If it was a dream, he hoped that Maria would let him languish in it. It was a beautiful life. "And I the same. My darling Alice," He whispered with no possesion only affection.
"They will...waited long enough," Jasper pointed out, although he was really being completely selfish now. He wanted Alice to himself for a little while longer. Knowing that one of them that they would live with could see things made him nervous. Maybe he would have to keep his thoughts in check, especially those about Alice. He had to admit his thoughts were not always pure when it came to her. Although Alice never seemed to mind. Jasper's lips met with Alice's, moving down next to Alice as he cupped her delicate face. Cold and warm at the same time.

His hands seem to engulf her, warming the cold stone flesh, though his touch was as soft and gentle as if they were still human. They felt rough against her smooth cheeks but it was a sign of the struggle and from his time. Jasper was much older than her, by a couple of decades, she'd come to know, though when she was born it was a lost to her. The day she'd awaken was the day Alice decided would be her birthdate. It had come and gone for a few lonely years until that fateful encounter in the diner. There were no more loneliness, though she'd been optimistic, she wasn't really alone because he had been out there just waiting for her as well.
Alice nudged his left hand with her cheek, putting her own hands over his, they'd been intimate on many occasions but this was the type of intimacy that she craved. Just to feel him next to her and to know that he would never leave her. If he did, the vision would have come to her, "Yes-" She knew that this new, whole, family had bothered him since it had only been them for a while now. Would he think that she'd drift away? No, Alice caressed his hands, she would never dare leave his side unless it was called for but he'd be happy too. The family would be just as warm as she had seen them and welcome him with open arms and the larger male (Emmett?) would be a formitable friend and brother. Edward, he would be someone that would understand Jasper as she understood him though not as close. Rosalie, the beautiful blonde one, shared some similiar looks to Jasper and they shared a similiar attitude towards humans. Almost cold yet endearing.

Jasper felt her confidence. Her love for him. There was no doubt for her that things would work out. While he knew that part of this was due to her gift, his pixie also had an optimism that was uncanny. It didn't seem like she should with her past in such a fog. And what she did know, starting in a mental ward, was surely not positive. Yet, somehow, Alice seemed to believe it would all work out in the end. Even with Jasper's past and present, she had faith. After living in despair for so long he barely knew what faith was. But that was Alice.
Because he knew Alice, and because he knew her gift he nodded slowly. "You believe that we'll be happy with them don't you?" Jasper asked quietly his fingers lacing with Alice's.

His fingers intertwined with her own, almost engulfing her hand, "Yes, I believe we will be happy living with them. I see a better future for us. A future that will allow us to live as normally as possible. We'll be able to live amongst humans without fear or being discovered." Alice knew that Jasper's tolerance for human blood was low and he had a harder time walking amongst them like her. "Carlisle feels already like a father-figure to me and Esme's warm smile makes my heart melt. They will be charmed by your Southern appeal," She lead him to the bed, sitting down, as she held his hand, "They will love you but never as much as my love for you."
Alice felt he was nervous about the whole situation still but it would be fine because in her vision she saw exceptance. They didn't question nor would they be rejected. Carlisle would be welcoming and she saw him as Jasper's savior and possible future mentor. He alone would help Jasper overcome his cravings.
