Bella shrugged a little as Edward tried to insist that she should care. She heard the change in his tone, but even that didn’t sway her mind. He would never be able to convince her that he wasn’t good for her nor that she should fear him. Although she was only human and he could convince her of almost anything when he looked through to her soul with those dazzling eyes of his, she was also famed for her stubbornness and her mind was made up on this. Edward would be a part of her life whether he wanted her to not want him to be or not.
As the vampire complimented her uniqueness (something that she wasn’t entirely certain was a good thing), she wondered how many more time it would be possible to blush. The pink tint to her cheeks was almost constant now and alarmingly obvious – she knew her cheeks would be hot to touch. She still couldn’t believe that she was as special as he was insinuating; she was just a bit peculiar. “There you go then," she commented, keeping her tone light. "You don't need to worry about us - why would you hurt something peculiar? Much more interesting if I'm around, right? And like I've said - I know you never would."
She smiled over at Edward as he reassured her that she didn't owe him anything. She was still grateful, though. Grateful even that the crash ever happened. She wondered where they would be now if it hadn't - would they be even talking; would he be in her room right now? She suppressed a shudder, not even wanting to entertain the idea that there could have been some other fate for them other than to be friends with each other. A warm sensation in her stomach and the rapid beat of her heart told her that she wanted much more than that, though. He was her everything and always would be - she had never been so sure of anything in her life.
"My room's going to feel lonely without you now that you've been here," she told him, blush still present. She was being honest, though. He just made everything around him seem so much better and brighter - she would never believe that he was the 'bad boy'.
