Alice threw the gown onto the bed, as she shifted through the latest goodies she'd purchased in New York, the trip had been short but it was mostly to view some of the newest lines on the catwalk. Of course, she and Rosalie would go together and would sometimes drag Esme along with them. Their husbands on the other hand were not so lucky and it was no only their obligation to come along but they were there to look pretty as well. Unlike Edward, their taste in clothing was somewhat attroctious so that just meant that Emmett and Jasper were dolls to be played with. Carlisle on the other hand was always immaculentently dressed, as their mother, Esme, "Hmmm..." There was the nice gold number but with her golden eyes it would be to much. Than she had a nice shade of blue but the shoes she'd ordered wouldn't be coming in until next week. It wouldn't do her good to try it with any of her other shoes. They would be on their way to the local goodwill for some lucky woman.
Alice sighed, content with her good deeds, they made up for a lot in her mind, but right now they couldn't help her decide. Instead of pouring herself into another gown, Alice grabbed a pair of skinny jeans, a faded band t-shirt; it belonged to Jasper and was rather ratty but it suited her for just being around the house. The room she shared with Jasper looked slightly messy; two gowns on the bed and two at the floor. Placing them on their respective hangers, Alice walked out of the room and towards the main entertainment center.

Generally Emmett loved spending time with Rosalie, anytime with her was welcomed. Any time other then post shopping, then Emmett would rather be anywhere but starting at an endless line of clothes that all looked the same to him. So since Alice, Rosalie and even Esme had spent the day shopping Emmett was now hiding away in the main room of the house with the flat screen TV, his other baby.
Emmett’s large feet were propped up on the coffee table, his hands supported his head as he lazily watched the teams trade passes on the crystal clear screen. It wasn’t exactly the game of the season, but it killed time while Rosalie played runway in their bedroom. It also blocked everything else out, normally. Now Emmett was anything but in a world of his own, the music filtering over from the piano was driving him crazy. For ever up of the volume he gave it, Edward hit the keys harder.
Normally it was Emmett trying to annoy his younger brother with jokes, pranks, games, cheating, but now he wasn’t even trying. Every strike of the keys set his teeth on edge, he was sure Edward was doing it on purpose determined to ruin his game. Grabbing the controller Emmett once again hit the up button on the volume just as the announcer called the touch down. “Touch Down!” Emmett echoed in his thick brash tone that was loud enough to block out the music and tv for a few seconds.

As she reached the living room it was evident that both of her brothers were trying to annoy the other. Emmett was obiviously winning this round but that would quickly change. Despite their age it was apparent that they lived very much the way they looked. Forever frozen in young bodies that had seen the times change like the seasons. Carlisle had to have been the most suprise being the oldest of the family and the head as well. The 21st century wasn't anything like the century of witch hunts and false accusation he'd come from. Now there were things he'd never dreamt about but existed. Though, Carlisle was probably the most normal one out of the group and the one that seemed to fit in the most besides Esme of course. The rest of them, the children, were ostrazied at school but that never bothered her. Jasper was with her and that was all she needed, besides her family, though he was no where to be seen.
Emmett sat and watched the game on t.v, "Hey!" She threw herself over the couch, landing beside him, "So I take it your team is winning?"

Edward sat at the bench of his piano with his eyes closed as his fingers gently drifted across the keys, softly playing an impromtu melody as he tried to compose something new and different. A cross between Debussy and Bach perhaps? If he was lucky. The song started out light and fluttery. But soon his melodic tones were interupted by the sound of a grumpy man in his 40s giving play by play descriptions of everything that was happening on the tv, as if people who actually were interested couldnt just see it for themselves. But apparently his brother who was watching couldnt be content to see for himself when a play was made, he had to hear it to experience it.
Edwards playing turned louder and the melody changed to a harsher one to go with the louder tones. The notes were lower on the scale giving off reverberations of the bassline. He could hear the tv growing louder as Emmett began competing with him, and Edward kept giving it right back playing louder with each increase in volume. He heard him yell touchdown and opened his eyes broken from his reverie but not giving up on his side of the battle.
He glanced over as Alice joined Emmett on the couch making a comment about his team winning. "He doesnt care which team is winning so long as he can cheer for someone" He commented to his sister before giving Emmett a smirk.

Not that Em would ever admit it to Ed, but he sort of liked his playing though only at appropriate times. The team wasn’t his team and turning up the noise was just to annoy Edward, something that managed to give him no end of amusement. Pushing the volume a few notches higher Emmett gritted his teeth against the harsh tones emanating from the grand piano. ‘Damn piano.’ Emmett thought as he imagined damaging it in a million ways.
Even for a vampire Alice moved quietly, it was something Emmett always marveled at, but could never hope to achieve. As his pixie sister landed beside him he turned from his cheer and gave her a big smile, but as he started to speak Edward got in first.
He glanced over as Alice joined Emmett on the couch making a comment about his team winning. "He doesnt care which team is winning so long as he can cheer for someone" He commented to his sister before giving Emmett a smirk.
“Actually its more to enjoy the game. You should try watching one every now and then, you might enjoy it. And I can always explain it to you. ” Emmett quipped without looking towards the Piano as he turned the TV up a little more. “But yea the better team is winning.” He finished, ‘or I will be’ he added as a silent after thought knowing his brother couldn’t resist the mental eaves dropping.
Without turning down the TV or looking back to it Emmett nodded towards the game. “So wanna tell me who wins so I can watch the baseball instead?” He smirked.

A sympathic smile flashed across her face, "Sorry Emm, it would ruin the enjoyment you get for watching the game don't you think?" Of course she could see the outcome of the game but it was something that wasn't on her list for dipping into the future. Though, if he were to ask her again she might divulge that information but the little teasing between her brothers were a bit more enjoyable. It was something she could get into instead of listening to Edward play or Emmett cheer for the more favorable team. Maybe she should have stayed upstairs with her mother and sister, "I could tell you but than you'd be stuck having to watch the baseball game and I can tell you right now that you might not enjoy this season. Just saying." It was a bit of a tease with a whole lot of fun. Really, Alice couldn't not enjoy herself around these two and her sister around. Of course Jasper would be there too. Wherever Jasper was, she wanted him near her, Edward would more than likely hear that statement loud and clear.
Even though they had been together for a few years now, more like a few decades, but it felt like a first honeymoon. "Come on Edward, you might just like sports a little more, we've all play baseball."

Edward pounded a few of the keys in the lower register as he heard the thoughts of his brother as he imagined damaging his prized piano. "I'll make sure you can never watch another game again if you even try any of that" Edward warned him, knowing he'd break every tv Emmett brought into the house as revenge if he had to. He also knew his family wouldnt think it was odd him verbally responding to things that were thought and not said allowed. He didnt have to be so careful to not give away his gift.
Edward didnt stop playing as Emmett made his comment about explaining the game to Edward. As if he was really that unaware of sports that he wouldnt even be able to follow. He did pause his playing however when his sister addressed him. "If they start showing our kind of baseball I'd be happy to watch" He told her.

"True, though humans might not understand the concept than we'd have to make a book about it and than there would be book tours and frankly I couldn't sit there and talk about it every single day." It was more of a sarcastic statement but the Cullen's version of baseball was much more enjoyable than any sport they'd ever play. It was harder for them to play american football but when they'd gotten together with their cousins it was always a possibility. "I wouldn't be making any bets this season until maybe the third game." Alice tucked her feet under her as she leaned back into the pillows. If she were human the way her body imprinted into the couch would have offended her but being that she'd only remembered being a vampire it was a given.
Edward had responded to something Emmett had said, Alice figured, when he'd blurted out a threat towards her bear-like brother and it made her smile. Even if they were older than they appeared they still acted their ages. It was refreshing than the mini-vampires that worked for Aro. Alice sighed, she hadn't seen Jasper all day and wherever he had gone she'd only hoped that he would return to her soon. Yes, she could have looked for him in her immediate future but since he hadn't left a note or anything it was clear that he'd wanted to be alone. Sadly, for her husband, Jasper couldn't do anything without her being able to know his next move and to have a wife with seer abilities.

A laughed erupted from Emmetts broad chest in response to Edwards counter threat. Without looking back at his ‘little’ brother Em spoke. “Sure Esme wont stand for those temper tantrums. Come on Ed, it was just a thought. I’d never break your stupid keyboard.” He snorted suppressing another laugh as he deliberately played down the Piano’s worth and status within the house. “Besides, you need to keep out of my head. Might not like, or understand, what you hear.” Emmett smirked tossing a look and wink over his shoulder as he thought about Edward’s single status.
Turning back to the game on TV Emmett tried to zone out the voices of his siblings and concentrate on the game. He nodded and huffed as Alice passed comment on the game and the season, he wasn’t sure he really wanted to know about the whole season just the game in hand was fine.
“Hey yea, when we going to get to play again? Any weather forecasts, little freak?” He said offering Alice his brightest grin which creased his cheek with dimples. He could never really mean a horrible world he said to his family, it was just fun. Though Edward provided more fun then most been easier to wind up then any of the others. “Wouldn’t mind a chance to wipe the field again with Chopsticks back there.” He nodded backwards to Edward throwing another insult his way.

"We all know what your thinking about Em without having the ability to read minds or see the future." Alice chimed in innocently, a slight grin on her face, as she faced forward watching the t.v. screen. Though it was sometimes a hassle to have a brother that could read minds it helped her out whenever she saw something and wasn't able to relay the information to the family. Edward was always better at describing scenaries than she was though there was no joking about her arts skills. With all the classes she took they had better paid off.
Alice looked outside, "Next Thursday looks like it'll be a nice short game but if we wait until Saturday we'll get a strong storm coming in for a much longer game." Emmett took another swipe at Edward and Alice had to laugh, "Chopsticks? That'll be a new one to add to the book."

Turning to look at the pixie like girl sat next to him Emmett tried to look hurt or even a little angry, but neither worked quickly he broke out in to his signature laugh and smile. “True, but I think its just because I come from a family or weirdoes. Mind reader, Psychic, vampire doctor.” Emmett named good naturedly not meaning any of his family any real insult. “As for the others, well there’s still time for them to show us.” Emmett smirked before turning back to the tv and the sport in hand.
“Hear that little brother, I can beat you on the field. Maybe we need a little bet that damn noise over my game?” he said glancing over his shoulder at Edward and the piano. “Lets carry on the bet over the two games, make it more interesting and give me a better gap to whoop you with.” Emmett laughed.
He turned back to Alice as she laughed and joined her laughter quickly drowning it out. “That books gotta be getting pretty big now, huh?” He smirked with dimples. “Where’s the others, could make this an interesting banter match.” Emmett asked speaking louder wondering if they were in the house and could hear him.

Carlisle had been upstairs for a long time now, since he had arrived back from the hospital, actually. He knew that the girls were away on a shopping trip, though by the time he attuned his ears to what was going on around him he realised that they had already returned. He closed the book on his desk, the information now fully incorporated into his mind and he turned his attention to some new studies and clinical trials on drugs coming on to the medical market. He knew this required some serious thinking in regards to the patient that had just been admitted, but now that the sounds of his family had filtered up to him he realised that he both wanted and needed to spend times with those he loved. Even if they were just throwing insults and bets back and forth.
He reached forward to close the lid of his laptop computer – which looked so unusual in the otherwise traditional office – he knew that he had taken in the information he needed, he just needed to assemble it correctly. He stood up, smiling as he heard Emmett’s enthusiasm for more banter with the rest of his family. Some didn’t understand the large vampire’s love of teasing, but his family did, which, perhaps unfortunately, meant that they suffered from it the most. Particularly his ‘little’ brother.
“What’s that? A chance to play ball coming up?” he asked, his tone normal, even though he was still at the top of the stairs. However, before a second had passed he was in the living area with the other three, an amused smile on his face. “Heaven forbid you two play on the same team one of these days.”

His footsteps were the first things she heard before he appeared before them and Alice smiled at Carlisle, her dear "father" and mentor, he had helped her when she needed someone to talk to. To confide in when it came to anything medical or her mysterious past. They'd tried going to see a professional but the memory was just not there, and whenever she'd tried to look into it herself Alice felt empty and only saw darkness. "Yes, I think we've got a game to look forward too and it'll be a dousy but it will be a good one I can bet."
They'd switch teams often and most of the time she'd play against one of her brothers; though it was harder when Edward could hear their moves and she see them. It was always fun to play the catcher but her favorite position had to be pitcher where she threw a mean curve ball. When their family from Alaska would make it down the game was liable to get a little rougher than usual but all the more fun with more players. Kate was one of Alice's favorite teammates.
"It might actually be a little unfair for the opposing team since we've got Emmett's strength to ponder and Edward's unusual speed. Though I might add that maybe Edward can join track one of these days. He'd win a few trophies to add to our small collection." The Cullen children tended to stay unnoticed in most of their schools but because they weren't able to go out into the sun. Unlike vampires from lore they were able to walk amongst the humans but at a price in the sun. Their skin shone like a million diamonds stuck to their skin.

Hearing their Father’s voice then the jovial smile on his face as he arrived in the room Emmett smiled in return. The idea of playing on the same team as his little brother wasn’t so horrible to him, it was just more fun to play opposite him. The sibling rivalry was fun, the squabbles over the game and the edge of winning made it all the more fun.
Alice spoke first and Emmett laughed at her words. “Unfair and boring.” Emmett boomed, “If I’m on Ed’s team then I can’t beat him and make fun of him later.” He joked again at his brother expense.
Emmett knew if Edward got to do track then he would want a try out for the football team, it wasn’t fair to only let one of them use their talents at sports; though track was a non contact sport. “Hey if he gets to do track then I’m joining the football team.” he spoke up quickly pointing out his interest in joining a team too. “Ed you wanna try football, or afraid you get damaged? Poor like music maestro might get sweaty or break a nail.” He smirked over at his piano playing brother as he jokingly insulted him.

Clothing had always been something Rose had loved in life and in their warped afterlife, and after Alice and Jasper had joined them, she and Esme had really gained a real guide for them with the changing styles throughout the passing decades. As Alice had been in her room inspecting the latest addition to her wardrobe, Rosalie had also been scrutinizing her new dresses. There were a few that were simple and in calm colors that would not pronounce her already pale complexion; dresses that she could wear in public. Those she had put away immediately for later inspection. The last few she had taken out of the garment bags were in deeper, richer colors that would make Rosalie even more striking, if possible.
As she stretched impossibly to reach the zipper in the back of her dress, she simultaneously enjoyed the competing sounds of her family. Emmett was enjoying the first sport he could find on the flat screen while her brother tinkled on the piano. At first, they were both pleasant, her husband enjoying himself and her brother displaying his talent. Edward was an excellent pianist, and had spent time with her, teaching her, when she was a young vampire. Rosalie was also had talent for the instrument, but her brother was by far the better performer and composer. But soon enough, the gentle tones of his playing became less patient as it contested against Emmett's perseverance to distract his little brother. Smirking knowingly, she allowed the banter to begin without her, and redressed back into the skinny jeans and black off-the-shoulder sweater, letting her golden hair tumble down past her shoulders before giving in and finding her way to the stairs. She descended at human pace, her smile widening at the site of Emmett's big teasing grin. "Whatever you two do," she interjected, "I am NOT going to be a cheerleader."
