(Open to Caleb.)
No sports were ever fun when you had to hold back, but what choice did Jayden have when she was playing against Humans? However, Jayden decided indoor hockey had to be the most fun lacking and unfair game there was and that was the game of today’s gym class. Jayden found it frustrating that she couldn’t use her skills or strength, and that the human’s around her seemed to lack total coordination and would slam into her. To complete the horror that would be the lesson was Coach Clapp, oh how Jayden disliked him. Everything about the man irritated Jayden; his voice, his demeanor, his lack of personal hygiene.
The girls changing room was almost empty as she finished tying her sneakers and slowly made her way out into the gym. She matched every other girl in the gym with her uniform and sneakers that squeaked too loudly as she made her way over to the rest of the class who were scrambling for equipment from Coach Clapp. As she got closer she saw that there was someone else with the equipment. Jayden stopped short of the class. She knew her eyes must be playing tricks on her. She watched this other man closely and knew it had to be Caleb, but what she couldn’t figure out was why he was at school.
Keeping her head down she walked quickly over and chose a hockey stick furthest away from the two men, then jogged over to join the game.

It had been a good month or so since Caleb had started working as Coach Clapp’s gym assistant and he had easily settled into the three day work week. He generally looked forward to Thursday afternoons when the divine blond, Katie Florence, graced his court. He only hoped that no one had noticed his propensity to focus most of his attention on her court when she was there. He physically shook himself as the next class filed into the courts and picked up their indoor hockey kit. It wasn’t the most engaging of sports and this was no Thursday afternoon.
With a rueful look, he shook himself once more from his blond haired, blue eyed reverie and focused his attention on the group of girls grabbing at the equipment, making sure everyone got something. He was fairly sure that the Coach had been talking to him these last few minutes, but beyond ’yeah’ and ’aha’, Caleb had kept fairly quiet. He had never minded the man as a family friend and teacher, but now that they were ’colleagues’ he had become intolerable, yakking his ear off about sports science and college prospects. Like he needed another father screeching that stuff down his ear every five minutes.
His brown eyes looked out over the gym and caught a flash of an auburn head, thought it was too far away for him to make out the face, especially when he wasn’t expecting the face here. It did put him in mind of it, though. The astoundingly beautiful, fiery young woman he’d met at Newton’s, the one with the smile that could turn his spine to jelly and… He pressed his lips together and inhaled sharply. He discreetly pulled his little black cell phone from the pocket of his navy shorts to check if he had any missed calls. No. he shoved it back into his pocket forcefully, even though he knew that he had only asked her out on a date two days ago, that he was pretty much a stranger and she needed time to think. It was driving him crazy though.
Caleb jumped at that point, as Coach Clapp blew sharply into his whistle to call the class to order and gestured to Caleb to go oversee the far end of the room. Caleb nodded and jogged easily down to the other end of the room, his white t-shirt blowing against his toned chest, whilst the muscles in his legs worked to propel him along. He stopped abruptly as the auburn headed girl came into sharp focus and stared at her in utter surprise. What?
He almost choked on his whistle as he blew for the game to start.

The teams were already decided from previous team games, lucky that meant Jayden wouldn’t have to face her name been called out for him to hear. For the next 45 minutes Jayden just had to avoid Caleb and avoid having her name called out. Strange that he should show up in her gym class on the very day she was going to call him and accept his date, now she would leave it a couple more days for fear him recognize any part of her and put two and two together.
Coach Clapp blew his whistle and the class broke off into their teams and took their position. Jayden had just taken her position at left wing reserve as Caleb sprinted down the gym. Jayden tried not to watch, but the way his shirt hugged the contours of his chest was amazing. She couldn’t control her gaze as it traveled down the length of his body taking it in as she had a few days ago in the store. This time she could see the definition of his muscles, she felt her heart quicken even more and was thankful she didn’t share her gym class with nay more of her kind. When her eyes came back up to rest on his face she realized his was closer then she thought. Her eyes met his and her face reflected the same surprise as his was revealing. As he blew the whistle Jayden couldn’t move, she heard the game begin around her but for a second she just stood.
Quickly she ran through her options of a way to get out of this situation; play and ignore him, smile seductively or just pass out. The way Jayden was feeling all were as highly probable as improbable.
She glanced out at the game and then looked back to him; she flashed him the same seductively, beautiful smile she had used in Newton’s store. She hoped it might help. She stared deeply into his eyes; “I can explain” she mouthed to him finishing with the same smile. She wasn't sure if she should join the game, she did know that right there and then was not the place to have a discussion with him. She looked back at the game watching and waiting to be called to the game. Leaning on her hockey stick she gave a sideward glance over to Caleb then looked down to the gym floor.

Without any other options, all Caleb could do was allow the game to continue, though the eyes that he rested on the court were perfunctory only, unseeing. He stood on the opposite side of the court to the reserves, where he could glance up at Jayden without it being obvious. The space also gave him room to think about what he would do. It was true that dating a student was risky, he knew it wasn’t allowed in any way, shape or form. On the other hand, there was less than two years between them - there was a larger age gap between his parents - and it wasn’t as if he was a proper, qualified teacher. Still, he knew that wouldn’t hold up in front of the head if he happened to get caught. He chewed the inside of his lip and intervened with the game to sort out the tangled mess that two of the players had gotten themselves into.
In that moment of distraction, holding a penalty for one of the teams, Caleb’s mind snapped to a decision. He had decided that he didn’t care that she was a student, so she hadn’t told him - there were plenty of things about him that she didn’t know - this, for instance. It was probably as much of a shock to her as it was to him. But if she was willing to give it a go, then who was he to refuse the beauty? A small smile set itself on his face and he went to stand on Jayden’s side of the court, placing himself between the two reserves, one for each team. As he walked over, he caught the astounding smile that never failed to melt him to the core. No, there was no way he was giving her up. No way.
“Ready for the game, girls?” he asked, impartially, glancing from the stranger to his right to Jayden on his left. He extended the girl he knew a grin, with a curious eyebrow raised over his left eye, trying to express ’don’t worry, but you’d better’ with a single glance. He may not have managed it, but he was certainly going to get a hold of her after class, and maybe even find out whether she was ever going to accept his date or not. He let out a long breath, quiet enough that it wouldn’t be heard over the sound of the game, trying to claw back his composure after his little seductress’ smile.
A minute or so later, he glanced at his watch and blew his whistle once more, indicating that they were to change sides for half time. He waited a few moments as the teams organised themselves, at snails pace, and then placed a hand on each of the reserves’ backs - his hand on the upper back of the stranger, but sinking to the ‘friendly’ lower back of Jayden. He hoped she didn’t mind, but he couldn’t help himself, and he was confident no one was watching them. He turned his head to smirk at her, in the knowledge that she couldn’t react.
“Your turn, impress me,” he said, his tone teasing as he propelled the two girls on to the court. Of course, it was natural to think he was talking about the game, but it was so much more.

The idea of remaining looking at the floor was a fruitless one, more then once Jayden looked up and looked right at Caleb across the other side of the room. No matter how inappropriate this location once she wasn’t to march right over to him and explain why she had failed to mention the fact that she was still in school. Although she appeared 17 she knew at times she acted both her appeared age and her actual age of over 40, yet on the day she met Caleb she wasn’t intending to act on way or the other. She had been so truly caught of guard by him and her attraction to him that she had just concentrated on acting human, now she knew she was acting the immature child hiding from the difficult situation by trying to keep her eyes on the floor. As she fail again and looked up she saw him heading around the room towards her. She looked at the other reserve player next to her, but she was watching the game. Jayden attempted to concentrate more on the game then on his approach.
Jayden didn’t need to look to realize how close he was to her; she could small his scent and hear the even beat of his heart. She didn’t dare steal a glance at him as he stood so close to her, she was afraid that all her apologies would come tumbling out of her mouth right there. When he spoke Jayden’s head snapped to look at him she knew in the look he return that she had a lot of explaining to do, yet at the same time she felt a rush of calm wash over all from his one look. She gave him a slight smile and nodded then looked straight back to the game. Try not to look at him stood right next to her was as impossible as denying her thirst when it rose. She had almost given up trying not to look at him when he blew his absurd whistle the close proximity and the sudden noise left a ringing in her ears for a second. She was deaf to his movement and jumped when he hand touched her back and dipped lower towards the base of her spine, though in truth the contact would have made her jump had she heard him move. The movement she hoped was too slight unless you were standing close to her, close enough to touch.
As he pushed her out into the game she suddenly missed his contact on her back and turned in a stunned freeze. She looked at him her confusion at his reaction to this whole situation evident on her face. It was the weight of the hockey stick that caused her to turn to the game and join the rest of the players. Her movement and that of the players around her were a blur. She didn’t lead the game; she merely passed the puck when I came at her. She resented her strength and speed and that she had to hide them to protect the other players. Without the handicap of playing with and against humans she would truly be able to impress him with her skills. As the game wound on she concentrated more on the future conversation with Caleb then the game at hand. She looked over to him several time through out her time on the pitch and each time gave him a secret half smile meant only for him.
As she walked off the court at the end of her time she headed towards him to lean her stick against the wall behind him. “Sorry if my skills fail to impress you. I think my mind was preoccupied.” She spoke her words in a stage whisper as she passed him flashing him a side ways smile.

It was only due to a rudimentary survival instinct that Caleb didn’t glance anxiously to his side as he felt Jayden startle under his touch. He was concerned that he had read all the signs wrong, that she was not really interested in him and that he was overstepping the boundaries with the cheeky touch. However, he was also now highly aware of the prying eyes of the coach, of the classmates - the placement of his hand was risky as it was, he didn’t want to draw unnecessary attention to it. Thus, he managed to keep his brown eyes on the game, turning his head to give what he hoped to be a neutral enquiring look as she turned, apparently in shock. He couldn’t hide the concern in his eyes, though, the hint of apology, though only someone that was truly looking at him would be able to distinguish it.
Thankfully, however, she soon turned her attention to the game and he watched, with satisfaction as she appeared to grow in confidence before his eyes. He had to physically and consciously stop himself from staring at her as she moved with the game play, forcing his eyes to flick, disinterestedly to other players before returning to her. He absorbed the way she leaned forward when she ran, the streamline shapes she made, the way her auburn hair seemed to blur the air behind her with its intensity. Was that a look of frustration on her face? There, just before she turned to smile at him? He didn’t know, with that smile flashing in his direction he didn’t care about much, really. Just that smile. The things he could do with that smile…
He shook his head a little and chuckled at himself, knowing that she hadn’t even accepted his date yet! He licked his lips a little and signalled for the end of the game and for the teams to switch over once more. This time, he noticed with an ounce of satisfaction, it seemed that Jayden had overcome her timidity to approach him. His eyes flicked up and down her figure, noticing that she hadn’t even broken a sweat and responded to her alluring smiles with a half-smile of his own, creasing one corner of his mouth into a cheeky dimple.
“With me,” he uttered, his tone low and suggestive, safe in the knowledge that the new game in play had sent the girls scurrying to the other end of the court. “I hope.”

The way his mouth creased sent Jayden’s heart beating even fast then normal, she really didn’t understand the effect he had on her. Nor did she fully understand her need to be close to him, speak to him and explain this all to him. Though perhaps not all of it; there were some things she would never tell him – how could he ever be expected to understand those things? She pushed all this from her mind as she glanced back at his face as he spoke.
She gave a silent laugh that fell into a smile. Turning away from him without answering she carefully lent the hockey stick against the wall and smoothed out her shirt before turning around to watch the game. Standing this close to him wasn’t helping Jayden’s racing heart, and for a second time that lesson she was thankful to be the only one of her kind in the room. How embarrassing it would be to explain the racing heart to Edward or even Alice.
Jayden remained facing the game but cast her eyes towards him as she spoke. “Yes.” She said strong and clear, the noise of the game stopped it traveling further then Caleb’s ears. “I was preoccupied with thinking about what you are doing here. You never said that you had an interest in hockey when we spoke." she smiled little less realizing that she too had not told him everything. “Though I know I am at fault too. Can you ever forgive me?” She said turning to look at him with a flirty bright smile she hoped showed him she was teasing him, not judging him.
Jayden couldn’t turn her head back to the game. She wanted to look on him a little longer, to talk to him longer, and to flirt more. All these feelings were so new to her, but she welcomed them especially if they involved him.

As he waited for Jayden’s response to his intentionally cheeky and self-assured question, Caleb couldn’t help but lap up her appearance as she leant so casually. Also, what struck him, was the ease of her posture, the lack of blush on her cheeks. Whilst the unshakable nature of her countenance could have served to knock his confidence in their mutual attraction, it merely served to enamour him further. How could he resist her? Some kind of queen of fire and ice - the auburn of her hair, the cool seduction of her smile - even if she couldn’t play hockey. Then again, it hadn’t really looked like she was trying.
He licked his lips a little and inhaled a little sharper than usual as she finally answered in the affirmative. His breath hitched in his throat for a moment, though, happily, he had the tools at his disposal to distract her from his unbidden response. He put the whistle to his lips and blew sharply, awarding a penalty, much to the rancour of the opposing team. He held up his hands.
“It’s the way of the game,” he told them smoothly. There were one or two protests, but the majority swayed as soon as he turned his powerful gaze on them. Now, why did that never work all through his career here as a student?! He nodded as the penalty was taken and took his own sweet time upon answering Jayden’s own question. When he did, he half turned his head to glance at her with a coy smile.
“What can I say?” he asked, his tone easy, his eyes now back on the court, though he missed a call as he concentrated on the beauty behind him. “Told you I had a job, of sorts. Don’t worry, I’m not obscenely well preserved or anything - just graduated last summer.”
He exchanged the flirty glance with her as she apologised for her own dishonesty, which made his chest twinge with a slight guilt at his own secret. He turned to look at the pitch and, satisfied that the action was once again at the opposite end of the court, he quickly gave his attention to Jayden for a brief moment. He winked at her and gave her a smouldering smile, which he made sure no one else could see. There was no mistaking that smile - even if it did only last a fraction of a second.
“Why not give me the chance to show you how much a do forgive you? Hmm?” He referred to the date, but he wasn’t going to say the words out loud, not in this all too familiar predicament.

The seductive lick of his lips told Jayden she wasn’t in trouble for her lack of information when they first met, he had told her he had a new job; she had told him almost nothing. The sharp in take of breath caught her ear and she let a smile dance on her lips and light up her eyes. It felt good to have that effect on him; it was just the same he had on her. She listened to his breathing and it’s slightly irregular rhythm, silent and unnoticed to everyone else in the room except her. Where he was concern Jayden feared she noticed everything; too much.
As he blew his whistle she turned and watched the penalty of in the game. She had long since given up keeping score or even trying to be interested. Yet now she tried to focus on the game. Tried not to let herself be drawn back to him. She was waiting to hear if she was truly forgiven, though she supposed she already was it wouldn’t be true till she heard it from his lips. His lips; just the thought pulled her back to look at him. His profile as he watched the teams move on with the game was amazing, he eyes traced from his sculpted jaw to his perfect eyes. She was sure she had him memorized, yet even her amazing vampire memory and mind could not do his feature’s justice.
As he told her he graduated last summer she had to stifle the small laugh that built up inside. The age between them was greater then he would imagine, perhaps as much as 20 years. The idea struck Jayden as a little funny, though also a little serious. The logical part of her mind asked her what she was doing, and she even wondered herself. Yet she knew what she was doing; falling for a human and she couldn’t stop it. That in itself was worth the laugh she was stifling.
As he winked at her everything else was forgotten; the age gaps, the species, the game, even the very surrounding. Jayden caught his amazing smile and felt like her knees would go weak had she been anymore human. It was amazing the way her made her feel; like the love sick school girl she was, not the 43 year old young woman. He mentioned their date. Jayden had assumed, despite all his flirting that that would be out of the question now she was his student. The very idea that it was still possible caused her to return his smile with her own.
She bowed her head letting her hair fall between her and the game yet her face turned toward him still smiling. “Ok” She said in a low voice. “Though only if you give me that same chance to show you how much I could impress you.” She pushed her hair back from her face and brought her head up straight breaking eyes contact with him and going back to trying to concentrate on the game. She could feel him those few inches away and it was so hard for her not to glance back at him to see his reaction to her own forward comment.

Caleb shot Jayden a heated glance as she threw back a question to his own flirty one. He enjoyed these back and forth flirtations that they bandied between each other, even in their first meeting. They were so playful, so suggestive, and, above all, he could really imagine where all this was headed. Of course he wouldn’t rush this playful phase of their relationship, but that didn’t stop him from revelling in anticipation for what was to come. God, how much did he want to get rid of all these kids now so he could have her to himself? A grain of frustration showed on his face as another girl hit the puck back up towards them, quieting his own retort in his throat. His brown eyes stared intently at the puck, willing it to go skidding to the other side of the court again – he needed to talk with Jayden. Alone. At least she had agreed to his date, though, and if all went to plan they would have plenty of alone time to share together then.
It was a good eight minutes before the puck left their immediate area again, despite the penalty that was given to the team scoring in the opposite direction. He felt like karma was biting him in the ass for what he was doing to Katie, but if all the karma was going to do was make a high school hockey game thwart him, then he would live with it. He knew this was wrong, but the more time he spent with both girls, the harder he was finding it to even contemplate making a decision. As soon as the gaggle of girls were crowded around the opposite goal, however, he turned on his heel, swiping up a canteen of water from the sidelines in order to face Jayden once more.
“I’ll need a full showing,” he told her, his voice husky, before he tipped his head back and took a long gulp of his water. He threw the canteen back down and gave her a meaningful look. “And we’ll have plenty of alone time to bear all, I’m sure. This weekend.”
He grinned at her and turned his attention back to the game just as the bell rang to signal the end of the lesson. He gestured for the girls to gather around him so that he could review what they had been doing, what need to be worked upon. Each of the teens got their own little smile of encouragement as he spoke to them in turn and then he dismissed them all, turning to Jayden before she left.
“Jayden Murphy, isn’t it?” he asked the new girl, his face the absolute picture of innocence. “Do you want to help me with the equipment? New girl’s burden, I’m afraid, I can show you where it all goes.”

The puck wouldn’t leave. Why wouldn’t it just get hit to the other side of the pitch so she could talk to Caleb again? Jayden’s busied herself and distracted herself by listening to the fast heart beats and ragged breaths of the players; anything to block out the beat of Caleb’s and the racing of her own. The puck was sent soaring to the other side of the room as soon as the coast was clear Caleb turned to her and her heart beat even faster. She felt an eagerness to hear his voice again and what he proposed made her smile. The idea of seeing Caleb outside of school for the weekend sounded amazing and exciting.
He drank down the water in his canteen and her eyes were drawn to his neck, but not in the way the stereotype of her kind might be. No Jayden was drawn to every part of him in a way a woman was to a man; he was handsome that was all – no temptation of any other kind.
The end of class bell cut off any retort or acceptance she may have had. Jayden gathered with the other girls for the breakdown of the game as each player received praise from the new coach. A slight tinge of jealousy nipped at her as he smiled at each girl, but Jayden simply reminded herself she was been a silly teen and pushed the thought away. As the huddle broke up she set off to follow the others to the changing room, but the sound of her name pulled her short.
He called out her name and her fluttering heart almost stopped. The gym was almost empty as she turned to look at him, his face nothing but neutral. “Yes coach Walker.” She said walking back towards him as he said something about the equipment, in all honesty she jut couldn’t take in what he was saying as he was been so bold by talking to her.
Drawing closer to him in the now empty gym Jayden reached down and began collecting the hockey sticks from where they had been discarded on the floor. “So this weekend?” She asked glancing up at him from where she was knelt. He looked taller and she couldn’t help but smile up at him. She was reveling in finally been alone with him. “What do you have in mind? More climbing?” She wondered. Their last climb at the indoor wall had been fun and Jayden had actually relaxed and let herself enjoy it. Now she was excited to know what else he had in mind.
She stood gracefully with her arms full of sticks and waited for him to show her to the utility closet. “Are you done for the day?” She asked him. This had been her last class for the day and other then the hour it would take her to do the homework set she had no plans. She’d spent the weekend hunting and felt no burn of thirst. Jayden wanted to know what he was doing and what he did, she wanted to spend time with him too.

Hearing Jayden call him ‘Coach Walker’, so formally, made Caleb’s mind wander to other places, doing other things that should remain very far and very wide from here. He was actually appalled at himself, but he knew that the rest of the male species tended to display such tangents at a far earlier age. He was playing catch up, which he decided excused him, though he couldn’t entirely convince himself that it made it okay for him to date two girls in the same year that he taught. He half smiled at her, keeping it all above board as he signalled to Clapp that he would handle taking care of the equipment. His dark eyes travelled down, now clearly seeing the top of her auburn head, the way that her hair cascaded down in fiery waves. He even found the top of her head attractive.
“Oh, I don’t know if I should spoil the surprise,” he breathed, relaxing a little as he noticed that the gym had emptied – no body wanted to stay in the room any longer than was absolutely necessary, not even the coach. He grinned at her openly and stooped to pick up the last couple of sticks that were by his feet and met her eyes as he stood, putting a hand out to ‘steady’ her – whether she needed it or not. He gripped her elbow lightly, his fingers warm on her cool skin, letting it go reluctantly after a few moments.
As they walked over to the exit of the gym, towards the storage cupboards, Caleb leaned close to Jay’s ear, close enough for his breath to shift her sweet smelling hair. “Today, I have no further plans that don’t involve you,” he told her, trying to twist it so that he was being at least slightly honest. He didn’t have anything planned after he’d changed, having no reason to stay behind that night; no clubs or extra practice. He laughed a little, its husky tone not carrying further than their own ears and straightened up as he entered the corridor, where students may still be milling around. He paused outside a walk in closet where the sports equipment was kept and fumbled with some keys until the door swung open. He held it there for her, winking at her devilishly. “After you.”

“It could still be a surprise if you just gave me a hint about our weekend plans.” Jayden smiled as she continued to pick up the left over equipment form the lesson. As she looked up at Caleb Jayden felt sure her cheeks must be flushed form the blush she was feeling that was the company of the grin she was sure was plastered across her face like a village idiot. As she felt the pressure of his hand on her elbow she could feel the slight variation in temperature. Just as she had the first time he’d held her hand in Newtons, Jayden wondered if he could feel the coolness of her skin and if it bothered him. The heat of his fingers gave her skin a pleasant tingle and she glanced down at them. “Thank you.” His touch was gone to quickly her skin and her heart longed for the touch again.
His touch was quickly replaced by his proximity to her as they reached the doors. Jayden could feel his warm breath on her neck as he all but whispered to her. Jayden could barely move at the words let alone how close he was to her right then, but she pushed her feet out in to the corridor and towards the equipment closet.
The equipment closet was dark, but Jayden’s eyes needed no time to adjust to the lack of light. Looking from the closet to Caleb she caught his wink as he stood aside to let her in slowly she moved past him to entered the cool room and deposited the hockey sticks into the storage bin with the others. Whipping around to face him Jayden smoothed her hair down as she smiled again, “So it is lucky that my afternoon plans include you too.” She smiled as she stepped back towards the door without looking away form him. “Why don’t you come in for a second and check that I put the sticks in the right place?” Jayden knew she was playing with fire by been alone with a man in such tight confines, never mind the fact he was human and she wasn’t; that didn’t matter now. He was a teacher or sorts and she was playing the role of the student; this could turn out badly for both of them. Right then and there Jayden didn’t care about any of that. The only thing on her mind was been close to him again.

Caleb’s tongue flicked up over his front teeth and ran over the underside of his lip as he smirked at Jayden’s enthusiasm. Silly of him to create so much mystery over the simple picnic he had decided to take her on, well, it wasn’t quite just a picnic… god, he hoped she wasn’t embellishing the truth when she said she liked water sports. The climbing seemed to go down well so he just had to hope she would be open to this too. It was going to be a good chance to see what she was really like, for he doubted that she would be so bothered about impressing him – if she had done that at all – this time.
“If I told you now, you might reconsider, that’s not something I’m willing to risk,” he murmured to her, his husky voice rumbling in his chest as he attempted to keep his voice quiet. He watched as her eyes flicked down to his hand and though he longed to keep it there a little longer, to be able to without raising questions and getting sacked, he couldn’t. He thanked his lucky stars that he had already decided to take her on a somewhat remote date.
As he watched her move past him he gripped the door handle a little more tightly, making the muscles in his forearm tighten as it strived to work free and catch the stunning woman in his arms. He breathed in deeply through his nose, trying to maintain some sense of decorum, though her astoundingly sweet scent served to stagger him further and he was glad when she had moved over enough to step in himself, away from any prying eyes. There was nothing too bad about being in the storage room with a student as most of the storage bins and nets were kept in their own particular place, although he knew that it was wrong to be in such a tight space with a girl student and with the door closed. Surely he could feign ignorance once, couldn’t he?
“Let me see, Miss. Murphy,” he grinned at her, though he doubted that she could see it in the low level lighting. He approached her and lifted his arms to place his hands on her shoulder and turn her to see her ‘work’. Keeping a light body contact between his front and her back, he leant his head over her shoulder. “Meet me around the corner, near the print place,” he whispered to her, his tone husky in the close confines and he turned his head towards her. He allowed his lips to brush briefly over her smooth cheek, unable to resist being so forward.

Would she reconsider if she knew the destination? Jayden knew she should reconsider completely; going on a private date with a human teacher wasn’t the best plan. She knew she wouldn’t reconsider though, or think twice about going with Caleb anyway. Jayden smiled as Caleb admitted he wasn’t willing to risk her rethinking going with him. “I’m sure I wouldn’t reconsider any chance to spend time with you.” She said matching his low tone, hoping it was too low to hear. His voice had been so husky as he’d kept it low, just between the two of them, Jayden’s heart had fluttered even more then usual at the sound.
It wasn’t hard to Jayden to notice the way his arm fought against itself as she moved passed him in to the storage closet. Perhaps he wanted to touch her as much as she wanted to be touch and return the contact. Jayden’s own mind was fighting with itself; the desire to reach out and give Caleb’s chest or body even a fleeting touch was strong within her. However, even as she fought to stop her self touching him Jayden was also thinking about the logic of touching him, even kissing him. Would the closeness of touch awaken a hunger in her like she’d never known? She knew Edward must fight that hunger every time he was near his human love, Bella, but Jayden had never felt a hunger towards humans; would Caleb change that? With that she wondered if she’d be strong enough to stop herself?
As Jayden stepped into the close confines of the closet her fear was no longer of been caught, it was not been caught. She knew she was putting herself in a situation she wasn’t sure she could handle. Caleb was no longer just another human, he was a man whose contact and touch she wanted more then any other’s she’d met. She knew she wouldn’t back out even if ever cell in her body scream at her too.
Jayden smiled at the formal way her addressed her, she knew he was just playing the teacher student role; it was another role she also played. “Yes, sir.” She said just as formally. In the dim light she saw the grin as he addressed her, it was handsome and natural two traits she was coming to associate with Caleb more and more. As Caleb’s hands rested on her shoulder’s Jayden felt her body turn willingly as he looked at her work. The slight weight his hand posed on her shoulders was intoxicating and she relished in the touch and closeness that she wanted so much.
The whispered instructions tingled her cheek and excited her heart. She knew the place he meant, and she had an idea what he could mean for after she met him there. They’d both admitted their afternoon plans involved the other and Jayden assumed the location would be where he’d pick her up; alone and private. Jayden didn’t speak, she nodded silently, but her body spoke volumes. Her head tilted backwards, turning her head to meet his lips. Jayden wanted to feel his lips touch hers if even just for a second. Her lips brushed his and her heart erupted, but no thirst and no desire for anything but more kissing.
The hybrid knew she was pushing it, he was a teacher and they were in a closet it was a recipe for danger. Jayden couldn’t help herself, she had to see if the kiss, even a brief one would make her a risk to his life not just his career. Jayden pulled her lips back from him after mere second, turning back to look at the tidied equipment and nodding again.
