Seeing the grin on Ben's face as he held the object that represented their child for the next couple weeks, Angela got caught up in her fantasy of imagination. She wondered if there'd ever be a day when they'd be sitting in a home of their own, having just started a family. She broke herself from the dream and knew how unlikely that was to ever happen. Ben was only over here because of a school assignment. They weren't dating and he probably didn't even like her that much. But the fantasies were nice, even if they never happened.
She laughed as he mentioned that boys had long lists of baby names hidden under their beds. "They should tell the girls that, girls definitely are into the sensitive stuff" She said a bit nervously, knowing that this was something about Ben that she really liked. He wasn't the jock, but he had a good heart, something she found much more appealing.
She saw the color rise to his cheeks as she mentioned how it might look weird to have them shopping for a robot. She hadn't meant it to sound like she was calling him weird! She felt horrible that she may have sounded that way. She was about to apologize when he said that he meant it for her not the baby. "Oh..." She said finding herself blushing now as she smiled softly. "That would be nice...for either of us" She said hoping he knew that even if he had meant the baby she wouldnt think him strange for it. She couldnt believe he had actually even considered that they should buy her a gift. She knew if it ever happened she'd treasure it forever.

Ben’s cheeky grin mellowed a little as he heard the slight quiver in Angela’s voice. He didn’t really know what was causing it, not really realising how unusual and craved for this kind of conversation was to certain types of teenage girls. At this point he wasn’t really thinking of involving Angela in anything more than prom, but who knew, maybe one day? He shrugged a little.
“Oh, I dunno… don’t girls tend to go for the macho type. Y’know, like Wolverine or Emmett Cullen? Can’t imagine either of them crooning over mushy stuff and getting away with it…” he glanced at the girl that he held a fair torch for, almost looking for news of his fate. He knew that he would never be the hero of the sports field, nor be able to carry off a fedora without looking like an idiot, but he had a more sensitive side that he didn’t show that much of at school. When around the others he tended to hide this side of him with obsolete references or a comment that would reassert his manly integrity, but apparently here at Angela’s he felt that he could be himself.
Ben looked up and kicked himself internally as he saw the girl he was crushing on blush and he realised that she hadn’t meant offence – way to go, Jet Li. He returned her soft smile, not being able to help thinking about how cute it was. In a rush of affection for her, he suddenly felt a surge of courage and he sat up a little quickly and raised his brown eyes up to Angela with questioning eyes. However, before he had a chance to ask the girl to the prom, a groaning sound emanated from his arms. Immediately he turned his attention down to the baby bot and he automatically jiggled her a little.
“Here Ang,” he said, easily, smiling even though the mechanical crying was a less than nice sound. He carefully extended his arms out to her and half smiled. “I think little Emily’s sick of her dad. Maybe a mom-hug’ll do the trick…”

"Maybe the Rosalie Hale's of the world go for the macho type" Angela responded, thinking that was probably the type of girl that Ben was into. She was sure that Rosalie was most guys type. Tall, blond, curvy, and stunningly beautiful. If she wasn't taken by someone who looked like he could punch out any guy who looked at her the wrong way she was sure all the guys would be fawning over her. Though it was possible Ben was more into the Jessica Stanley types, the perky, cute, and outgoing girl types. Angela didn't think she was really any guys type. "I think a lot of girls would rather have the sensitive guy" She said with a smile as she remembered the comic book character Wolverine had a crush on, at least in the cartoons her brothers watched. "Jean Grey ended up choosing Cyclops over Wolverine afterall" She said then looking down again thinking she was probably acting like an idiot in front of him right now.
It only got worse as Angela felt like she insulted Ben by her comment on the stuffed animal present. She wished she could have taken it back but hoped her cover was good enough. She wondered if he had really considered getting her a gift like that. She looked up slowly and met his eyes seeing the questioning look he had, wondering what he was going to say next just as the baby started making noises again.
She nodded as he held her out to him. " Sure, I'll give it a try" She said, taking Emily carfully from him and turning her key that was already inserted to the side so the bot could record who was holding her. "Do you want to start writing down a schedule?" She suggested as she gently rocked the baby, trying to get it to calm"

Ben wrinkled his nose a little as Angela mentioned Rosalie Hale. Okay, so he couldn’t deny that she was stunning, but she was scary too. He could probably handle the Green Goblin better than he could that Hale twin. Besides, who wanted to be with some statuesque ice queen (not that he had actually spoken to her to see that she was like that, but it was what she looked like). However, once she mentioned that some girls might prefer the more sensitive type, a small smile emerged on his face, sensing a little hope on the horizon.
“Good to know,” he commented, looking directly at Angela with wide brown eyes. He dared himself to just ask her now, the worst she could do was say ‘no’, but he couldn’t. He considered waiting to see how the task goes before committing to anything – or before allowing the girl to commit to him. It wasn’t that he was unsure about her, but more that he wasn’t sure he would be able to face her if she turned him down.
“Very true too. Jean Grey was the best heroine…” he veiled the compliment to the girl, wondering if she could see that he was actually referring to her, though doubting it. He comforted his nervousness by convincing himself that if she had understood the reference then she was just as big a dork as he (in a good way, of course), and if she hadn’t then no damage was done, other than him looking the geek, but that was normal.
He held his arms out to Angela, allowing her to direct the transfer of little Emily over to her so that the baby didn’t get pulled too much in either direction. He wasn’t sure that it would be able to register such minor disturbance, but the thing looked so lifelike that he couldn’t bear to ‘hurt’ her.
“Good plan,” he said, smiling at her gently as he watched her rock the baby. He began to scramble around, looking for something to write with as he had left his schoolbag at home, which contained all the writing material he owned. He stood up and looked questioningly at the temporary mother. “Where do you keep the stuff?”

Seeing Ben's slight reaction to the mention of Rosalie Hale's name surprised her but also made her secretly happy. It didnt look like she was his type of girl. At least that eliminated the stunning supermodel look that she had no chance of ever getting herself. She smiled back at him as he told her it was 'good to know' that some guys preferred the sensitive type. But as she saw him looking directly into her eyes, she wondered if he was already seeing her as the loser nerd girl who was throwing herself at him. She hoped she hadn't been that obvious and looked down after a moment, though she had enjoyed the eye contact.
"Yeah.." She said softly with a nod as he told her Jean Grey was the best heroine, missing the compliment and assuming he was just going back to talking about the comics. "She was pretty and powerful"
Angela loved how careful Ben was with 'their' baby. Even being made out of plastic and metal, he still took such care with it not to let it get hurt or jostled in the wrong way. She saw him scrambling to find something to write down their schedule on as she rocked the baby. "Oh, you can just grab something from my bag over their" She motioned to the chair. She was glad she wasn't the type of girl to write her crushes name on her notebooks, so she knew he wouldnt find anything embarrassing in there, just maybe a bit boring.

As soon as Angela broke eye contact with him, Ben looked away himself, hoping that the hot pinkness that he could feel on his cheeks would subside before the object of his affections looked at him again. The very last thread of his nerves broke as he wondered why she had looked away so abruptly. Maybe he'd scared her off somehow? He couldn't see how, he knew he hadn't done anything, but girls had that gender secret way of reading guys' minds ... he hoped that when he did finally pluck up enough courage to ask her out she would be gentle with him. He also made a mental note to make sure that Mike and Eric and anyone else was as far away as possible so that they wouldn't witness him crash and burn.
"Yeah... Like-" he stopped abruptly, eyes widening a little as he began very interested in Emily and now he floundered for another word he could insert there in place of the 'you' that his instincts had in mind. "Well, you know," he said, glancing up at her with a smile, trying to look as easy and natural as he could. Lame, he knew - in fact, she would probably wind up the day thinking him the freak that he was and any hope of a chance would be lost. "You'd make a good Jean Grey, you know."
Ben paused as he stepped over towards Angela's school bag, turning back to the girl with a slightly unsure look his face as he crouched beside it. "Are you sure?" he asked, a cheeky grin emerging on his face. "Don't guys get eaten or something if they go into girls' bags?" He glanced across at Angela. "Well, I'm going in, promise you'll save me?" He laughed a little and pulled out a notepad and a pen that was floating around inside.
"Okay, so," he started, returning to his 'wife's' side and turning so that he faced her, his knees close to hers. "Where do we start?"

Angela's eyes looked back up to meet his as he started with a sentence that it sounded like he was having trouble finishing. He seemed almost...nervous? But could that be right? She couldnt see any reason why he'd have to be nervous. That was her thing really. She returned his smile encouragingly as he started to get to the point, then widened her eyes a little as he told her that she'd make a good Jean Grey. She was stunned. He had just said that she was the best heroine, and agreed with Angela's own statements that she was pretty and powerful. Now he was actually comparing her to Jean? She was shocked knowing how much of a compliment that would be coming from Ben. Her heart sped up faster, wondering if she was just reading too much into this, but not knowing how else to interpret it. She ended up blushing and giving a timid smile. "Thanks..." She said sincerely. If she were Jean Grey she knew she'd wish that he was her Cyclops.
She watched him move over to her bag and give her an unsure look, asking about getting eaten for going into girls bags. She let out a laugh at his comment. "I promise I will save you should it try to eat you...and yeah that's usually a good rule, but I think mine should be safe, at least today"
She enjoyed it when he came back and rejoined her on the couch. They were so close that their knees were almost touching. She wasn't even sure she could think straight with those thoughts going through her mind, much less figure out a schedule or something for their project. "Umm....how do you think we should do this?" She asked, not wanting to impose anything on him.
