{Early - Mid Breaking Dawn}
Caleb smiled into the mirror as he tousled a few strands of his hair, making it stand up a little farther from his head. Very ruffleable, he thought to himself, satisfied with his appearance. Although he did take a pride in how he looked everyday, today was all the more special as it was his first official date with that auburn haired goddess that he had run into at Newton’s. Although he could safely say that their relationship had blossomed quite fortuitously on chance encounters, there was such a lot of importance put on first dates. So what if he’d already taken her climbing and held her life in his hands, if he’d flirted shamelessly in the gym, if he’d behaved recklessly in the store room…
He shook his head a little, a smile pulling at his lips as he replayed the intense moments of dangerous flirtation that had passed between them. Somehow the added secrecy made it all the more exciting, though it also reminded him a little of his relationship with Katie – a fact that made him swallow abruptly and push it right back out of his mind. He would deal with the tough issues when they needed dealing with. All but ready now he stepped away from the mirror and picked up his blazer jacket, which hung just in the middle ground of being smart-casual. Everything else he needed for the date had already been taken care of and lay in the trunk of his Mustang.
He quickly paced out of his bedroom, elated that this was the final week that he would be living at home with the parents, and shouted his farewells. He hoped to be out all day, but he didn’t say anything of the sort to the family, just in case everything went wrong – not that it would! Only a few minutes later he was on the road, the old, almost vintage looking car wheedling through the streets that led to the outskirts of Forks. He frowned a little, wondering if he had really gotten the right place – no one lived this far away from the centre – but he did eventually happen upon a solitary house, which seemed to fit the bill. He pulled up outside the house, allowing his car to idle whilst he pulled out his cell phone and dialled Jayden’s number. He couldn’t help but allow his smile to grow as he waited, childish excitement assaulting his stomach, though he knew that he should act suave and a date worth having when she actually came to meet him.

The air was still as Jayden sat at the kitchen table in the exact same position she had been sat in for the last few hours. She had hunted and showered in the early hours after not been able to sleep for the fluttering in her stomach. Today was her first date with Caleb, in truth it was her first date ever and her nerves reflected that. A book lay open on the table in front of her, but Jayden hadn’t read a single line in the past hour. Though the vampire side of her didn’t mark or dwell Jayden was more then sure that she could feel her human side getting antsy about waiting; despite it been her own fault.
Jayden had asked that Caleb call when he arrived rather then coming to the door; there was too much to explain. If Caleb saw the still sparse decoration of the house and the lack of parents within the house Jayden was sure it would only spark a round of questions she didn’t want to answer; and didn’t know how to answer. She knew, had her father been with her, he would have insisted on the boy coming to the door; a regular father date meeting was hardly possible; ever. On the table, next to the abandoned book lay her new cell phone. Jayden had never had a need for a phone, but to keep in touch with the Cullens and now Caleb she had purchased a modest one.
Hearing the car approach was not hard out here in the silence, she had listened to it turn down the little street and come to a stop out the front of the house. It was a strong urge that Jayden fought not to go outside immediately, but how would knew that would seem strange and a little desperate. However, within minutes the wait was over as Jayden’s phone rang twice before she answered it. “Hi.” She said hoping the smile on her face carried through her voice. “I will be right out.” Jayden spoke quickly as she rose with grace from the table.
Her bag sat ready on the counter of the simple white kitchen Jayden grabbed it as she headed out of the house slipping the lock on the door as she closed it. The mustang sat idling by the grass curb, Jayden couldn’t help the smile that spread across her face as she walked, a little faster then normal, down to his car. “Hey Caleb.” She said flashing him a bright smile as she approached the car.

As soon as the tone of the ringing was cut off in his ear, Caleb’s contained smile burst out into a full on grin. Two rings, he knew that there was a certain credibility to not answering on the first ring, but didn’t she see what she was doing to his heart? For some reason it seemed to take forever for those two rings to sound and for his fate to be decided and it was causing some minor palpitations. Yes, Caleb could date two women at the same time, but it wasn’t something he took lightly, he genuinely really liked them both.
“Hey,” his voice sounded down the phone, through his grin. “I can’t wait.” He disconnected the call and shoved it back into his pocket. Then he worked on himself, sitting up more, consciously broadening himself, before jumping out of the car altogether. It was only gentlemanly to meet a lady at the curb rather than let her get into the car herself, though this consideration was rather late as she was almost there by the time he slammed his door shut.
He returned her own bright smile, getting lost once more in just how perfect her lips were that contained stunning teeth. She was truly the most breathtaking woman that he had ever lain his eyes upon and right now, there was no where else he would rather be; no one else he would rather be with.
“Jayden,” he greeted, putting his arm out to wrap it around her shoulders in a light, non-committal hug – he didn’t think it would be appropriate to force closeness, but he had to express himself somehow. He held her there for only a moment before pulling back to give her a kiss on the cheek and then slide his hand down her arm to grasp her own. He caught her eyes in his own and grinned at her once more. “So, ready to go? Still trust me with your life?”
He laughed a little, and put his free hand up to his head to play with one of the carefully messed up pieces close to the front; nervous habit.

Offering a light laugh and a nervous smile Jayden nodded at Caleb, “Sure, I guess I can put my life in your hands again, I think.” The laugh was natural just as the smile was, but the growing smile was more form the enjoyment of the kiss he’d placed on her cheek. As His hand slipped into her Jayden couldn’t help but worry about her body temperature to his, did he notice?
No matter how many times he touched her, or she him, Jayden wasn’t sure that worry would every go away. The body temperature, alone with her eye colors were the only two external factors truly noticeable to humans. However, Jayden had taken care of the latter and not her eyes shone a hue of golden brown as she looked to Caleb.
“Are you going to share the plan for the day? Where are we going?” The excitement for sharing the day with him had over taken her curiosity, but now that he was her Jayden couldn’t help but want to know. There were precautions to be taken when going out with a teacher, even if he wasn’t actually an official coach Caleb was still on staff at the high school she attended. Then there were the Cullens to think about. After the indignation Jayden had had to Edward’s relationship with Bella she knew it would be hypocritical to be seen indulging in the same sort of relationship with Caleb, even to a lesser degree. Besides, Jayden still wasn’t sure that her friends believed she had no interest in humans as food, perhaps they’d worry for Caleb’s safety.
Reluctantly letting go of Caleb’s hand, after giving it a slight squeeze, Jayden slipped into the passenger seat of his Mustang and securing her seatbelt. It was a pointless act, if the car did crash it was a fair assumption that she would come out unscathed, but it was a human act; necessary. Waiting until Caleb slipped behind the wheel Jayden spoke when he did, “When you going to put you life in my hands?” She smiled cocking her head to one side and regarding him. It was a bold forward move and Jayden wasn’t sure where the question had come from. If he knew the truth of what she was it would be almost mocking, but he didn’t and he never could.

Caleb kept a confident and affectionate smile on his face as he took Jayden’s hand, unflinching even as he registered the fractional chill to her body temperature. Maybe it was because he was a man, and distracted with other aspects of her presence than a slightly cold exterior, or maybe it was because the difference was negligible to human touch, but either way it felt natural to the man holding those slender fingers. He looked at the woman that he hoped to call his girlfriend, his chest feeling full and warm as he risked becoming forever lost in her clear, tawny eyes. Somehow he had seen something new and exciting in those eyes every time he met her, a different hue, a different feel; he loved it.
“Oh, you’ll see, Miss. Murphy,” Caleb turned to her, his eyes dark with mischief. He realised, with a little guilt, that he had done exactly the same to Katie on their first date and had fretted the entire journey that she would think the date was lame. Ah well, never mind. He couldn’t help but feel that if he spoilt the mystery of where they were going, or what they were doing, then the magic would fade too. Then again, this woman was so astonishingly beautiful, almost other worldly; maybe his date would be nothing special to her? He sighed inwardly, annoyed that his mind had taken him down this path again. However, outwardly he showed Jayden all of his confidence.
“It’s not what you’d call a typical first date… Maybe a clue, hmm…” he paused, pursing his lips as if deep in thought, his eyes crinkling at the corners as they narrowed. He continued to ‘hmm’ to himself, looking at her on occasion and taking a breath as if to speak, but then changing his mind. By the time he got into the car, he had his characteristic smug smile on his face and he looked straight at her, eyes sparkling. “Okay, so all I can tell you is that maybe we’ll be going slightly further ‘afield’ than you are used to on a date.”
He laughed to himself, and flashed her a stunning grin before kicking the car into gear and setting off on a journey that required no thought, north and west, away from the Calawah River. However, as Jayden’s comment came rolling across the space between them, over the hum of the engine, Caleb’s eyes flicked toward her, careless of the road for a few full seconds. As they roved over her features he couldn’t stop some of the penetrating black desire from seeping into his gaze, his mind wandering to places that a gentleman’s ought not go on a first date. “Any time you deem fit, Jay. Any time you see fit.”

As Caleb took her hand Jayden, again just like every time, wondered if he could feel the dip in her own body temperature. It was slight, but in the warmth of his hand she assumed it would be noticeable and she silently thanked the constant coldness of the weather in Forks that offered her the excuse of poor circulation and cold should he ever ask. Despite her reservations Jayden couldn’t help but smile when her date took her hand in his. With the contact of their skin she could feel the rush of his blood just below his skin, but she felt no desire for it as Edward must for Bella. Jayden didn’t desire human blood, and had recently feed turning her eyes a honey color and giving her a lighter feel without concentrating purely on her next hunt.
His eyes were amazingly dark and Jayden knew she could easily, and happily, be lost in them. It was a foolish notion to allow herself to be lost in his eyes, but she couldn’t help it. Returning his smile she noticed the mischief on his face as he called her such a formal name. “Well Mr. Walker you have your secrets, it won’t stop me fishing for clues.” She admitted knowing that it would be to know where they were going then she plan for any problems that may arise. Perhaps it was worry or over caution, but Jayden wanted to be prepared and relaxed rather then on alert.
First date. It was something the middle aged hybrid never believed she experience with a Human. In her past brief and fiery relationship she’d had a first date and several that followed not one of those dates were what you would call typical. Jayden wondered what Caleb had planned that would be untypical for a human first date. Having no bench mark of comparison added to the nerves and excitement she felt at the prospect of the afternoon.
Jayden watched Caleb as he pretended to think on a clue, she doubted he would actually give her anything viable as a clue but it was cute to watch him think up something to share. As his eyes narrowed and his lips pursed a she couldn’t help but wonder what it would be like to kiss his lips our touch his face in a more unguarded way. Quickly Jayden squashed the idea and looked away at the road.
“Further ‘afield’? She asked mimicking the way he had used the word. A field, quickly Jayden’s mind thought the idea through. Either a field, or travel, or perhaps it was a human term she wasn’t used to. Back at square one. “I’m sure whatever and where ever you have this first date planned it will be great. She smiled and in a quick, once again perhaps too quick, Jayden reached over and gently patted his knee letting her hand linger. It was a move completely out of character, but in that moment Jayden wanted his touch and to feel his warmth.
The smile Caleb gave Jayden, as always, set her heart racing even fast then its usual flutter and she grinned back at him. The car hummed it familiar rhythm as they set off on their adventure and their banter picked up the same tone it had had at their first meeting. Jayden knew the idea of him putting his life in her hands wasn’t something she should encourage a joke on, but what he didn’t know couldn’t ruin the moment. As they looked gazes locked Jayden kept half an eye on the road for both their sakes. Jayden could see an unusual look in his eyes as he looked over her face, somewhere between want and need. The look made Jayden feel wanted, and she felt herself wanting him in return.
Caleb used a nickname she’d heard before, but generally only from Edward. When Caleb said it it sounded different and she had to admit she liked the sound of her name coming from his lips and with his voice forming it. “Maybe we’ll have an opportunity today. Of course I’d know more if you’d share.” She smiled and pushed a little.
As her eyes drifted back to the road Jayden thought back to their first date an how easily she had gone with him. Now here she was again going somewhere unknown with him, she was sure she’d heard stories against this kind of behavior. “How was your morning?” She asked moving the conversation to something more normal and less trust orientated.

The grin on Caleb’s face poked up into a more devilishly amused incarnation as Jayden emulated his formal mode of address. He sniffed a little and nodded in a satisfied manner as she told him that he had his secrets. That was the truth, plus the date that he was taking him on worked much better when shown and experienced rather than described. Or at least he hoped it did. Even if she didn’t like the idea of the date, by not telling her about it in advance it meant that he definitely got a shot at impressing her in some manner even if the location and the activities were wrong for her. He raised an eyebrow at her before turning his attention back to the road.
“Fish away, Jayden, by all means. Just do me a favour and try not to assume I’m taking you anywhere too spectacular,” he laughed a little, though the worry was real. He knew that girls often had a different idea of what was a good time to guys, especially him with his sporting mentality. Still, after their first outing together, he had decided to give them a lazy afternoon rather than one filled with sport and adventure, though that could change at a moment’s notice if it looked like his beautiful date was getting bored. He just hoped that she wouldn’t now begin to think of all kinds of wonderful things that she would like to do and find his own idea lame in comparison.
He nodded once as Jay repeated his clue to her using the same emphasis on the word ‘afield’ as he had. He laughed a little, his teeth flashing between his lips as he did so, wondering if he had actually been totally transparent in his clue. Still, though, he was stumped at how to give clues to a simple picnic without being completely obvious. Maybe that meant that his idea was actually lame, if there was no way to create mystery about it. He shook his head a little, trying to dislodge the idea. At least he already knew that they at least shared some kind of attraction to each other and even if the picnic blanket didn’t get rave reviews for its true purpose, then perhaps they could think of another…
“Of course it’s going to be great,” he said in response to her kind words, though he wished that his internal feelings matched the level of confidence in his voice. However, as he felt the touch of her fingers on his knee, his belief that this date would be nothing but fun to be enjoyed by both parties soared upwards. His dark eyes flicked down to her slender hand, enjoying the sensations that it was causing just by being there and he hoped that he would get the chance to extend the same level of closeness to Jayden herself. “All it takes is me and you.”
As the new couple looked at each other, Caleb found that he couldn’t sway his gaze from hers, cars be damned. The intensity of desire that he felt for her, which was already at a high level, only increased as he continued to stare into those honey-coloured orbs of hers. He wished he could just pull over where they were, but he also retained enough sense to know that it would be ungentlemanly of him to use her in such a manner and he did honestly want to get to know her more. It was just that in moments like these his mind was continually blown by her outstanding beauty and he didn’t want to waste any time with her, thinking that someone like her would get sick of him. Plus, there was always the very real possibility that she would find out about Katie and then there would be trouble.
“Oh yeah, we’re just going to -,” he teased her with a grin as she pushed him a more to tell her where he was taking her. He flashed her a shocked look and then grinned. “Wait, I remember, secret, but I’m sure we’ll be able to get ourselves into some trouble if we really tried… I know that I would happily leave myself at your mercy.”
The conversation having fallen into a natural lull as he drove through the thickening trees, Caleb flicked his brown eyes to Jayden for a moment before returning them to the more complicated and single lane stretch of road before them. He shrugged a little and laughed a couple of husky beats. “Ah, same as usual: work, training, called on a hot girl for a date,” he grinned at her, trying to keep guilt out of both his expression and his tone as he realised that many would consider the sentence to be in bad taste, especially as it could be considered to be almost true.

It was Jayden’s first real, official date. She’d been alone with a man before, but never on a date and never with a human man. Her nerves were burning more then her hunger ever did, her senses were so heightened she was sure she would be able to hear a pin drop from a hundred miles.
As Caleb’s eyes turned back to the road Jayden thought of her nerves and her worries. It wasn’t just the nerves of been alone with Caleb that had her on edge, she was afraid of the Cullen’s - especially Edward - finding out about what she was doing. The more attached she grew to Caleb the more she realized she was been hypocritical with ever action she made with a human. Human and Vampire.
The idea of fishing for information was new to Jayden and something she wasn’t sure she really wanted to do. She found herself wanting to be surprised by what he had planned for their day together, the surprise was as exciting as the idea of been alone with him again. “I’m not assuming anything, but I know what ever it is it’ll be unique and fun, I know.” She said with a bright smile trying to show him how excited she was just to be with him. Everything about their budding relationship seemed to have to be so hard, she was just glad to do something semi normal like date.
It was an impulse reaction to reach out and touch his knee, but one Jayden found herself comfortable with. She could feel the heat of his knee through his jeans just as she could feel the vibrations from the road traveling up his leg. Her hand wanted to linger, but she wasn’t sure how long was ok for the kind of contact she’d instigated. Her hand stayed as he told her that all the day needed to be great was the two of them, she felt the same and couldn’t help smiling. “I agree.” She said gently as she took her hand back and rested it on her own lap.
As Caleb teased her with the prospect of finding out where they were going Jayden laughed and fell into a easy smile. “Tease.” She said trying to tear her eyes from him and attempt a pout like she’d seen many other girls her age do when flirting, but Jayden couldn’t look away from him even for a second.
The words were said in jest with a hint of flirting, but the words worried Jayden. It was true Caleb was at her mercy, not matter how strong of a man he was she knew she was stronger. By her very nature he was at her mercy even if she knew she was no threat to him the idea and spoken words worried her. Instead of speaking and reacting to the simple words Jayden talked around them. “I’m sure we can find trouble anywhere.” She smiled knowing it probably wasn’t that far from the truth when they were alone together. “I;m just happy to be alone with you away from prying eyes.” The prying eyes she mentioned weren’t just limited to the teachers and students from school, Jayden worried about any of the Cullen family seeing her.
As their conversation fell into a comfortable silence Jayden felt no need to fill it with pointless chatter, asking about his morning was friendly talk. She smiled as he said about calling on a girl for a date, she never suspected it would be anyone but her and the compliment made her heart flutter. “Mine wasn’t near as energetic, though I did agree to go on a date with a very handsome guy.” She smiled only half of the sentence was true. Her morning had been one of hunting, sedating her thirst and hopefully her nerves.

Caleb chuckled a little as Jayden assured him that she wasn’t making assumptions. If only that were true, though. It was human nature, wasn’t it, to have expectations of any given situation? He found himself wishing that he could take her out for a normal date, out to Port Angeles for something to eat, to the movies, usual stuff. He wished they could have the opportunity to show each other off. He also partially had control over that. Okay, so being a TA sort of put the showing off thing out of the question, but he could get another job… there was another reason that he wouldn’t take her somewhere that they could be seen and that reason was blonde. He could feel himself falling for this auburn-haired beauty, but he had already fallen just as hard for Katie.
“I hope so,” he said, his tone ruminating, but slightly teasing so that he could feign a certain level of confidence that she had probably come to expect of him by now. He flashed her a smile in response to her own. “I don’t do this often you know, special treatment, you’re getting.” Well… the dates he’d been on with Katie were sort of different.
A contented yet darkly desirous smile adorned Caleb’s face as he heard his date agree with his opinion that it only took the two of them to have a good time. He couldn’t stop his mind from rushing off in all kinds of directions, but the thoughts were soon stopped as he felt her remove her hand from his knee. He instantly missed it, that smooth, slightly cool touch. He couldn’t feel the temperature through the material of his trousers, of course, but he’d already learnt to recognise her touch. “I’m glad,” he responded, huskily.
He laughed, the rolling sound emerging naturally from his lips, enjoying that he was messing with her (in a nice way). He flashed a grin at her and winked, cheekily. “You betcha!” He reached his right hand off the wheel and clasped at her hand for a few seconds before taking it back for safety’s sake. “Don’t worry, we’ll be there soon.”
A half smile pulled at the corner of his mouth as she reassured him that they could find trouble anywhere and he huffed a short laugh out of his nose. “I guess we have a little proof of that…” he commented, his tone teasing, lingering as he thought back to the time in the supply closet. Now that was a moment that had gotten out of hand, considering where they were, but he would never say that he regretted it. “Where we’re going there will be no eyes to pry, don’t you worry.”
He laughed again at her comment, the easy way that he responded to his slightly prodding teasing. He was in awe of the woman, really he was. He had never met anyone that could meet him with the same cool confidence that he exuded when he wanted to and yet she retained that cute innocence when she wanted to… And yet… He pulled the car into a clearing deep in the Forks woods, a few miles from the Cullens’ place, down river. It didn’t look like anything yet, but he knew a nice spot. He just hoped that she appreciated the simple idea of the date.
He sat back in his seat and turned his full attention to his companion, grinning at her. “So, what do you think?”

In the decades of her life Jayden had quickly learned not to assume things of people or situations. She’d learned early on, especially after her father died, that not everything is that it appears to be. She found humans and now the vampires she’d met to be equally confusing in their actions and their assumptions. Jay couldn’t assume anything about Caleb, he was always keeping her guessing.
His tone was as confident and relaxed as ever, it was a trait Jayden envied him for while she may appear relaxed she was always on edge. With her constant need to hide something she was always on edge of someone finding out something. Hearing she was getting special treatment she smiled. “Well then I’m honored and privileged.” She told Caleb. “And I don’t do this often either..dating that it.” She laughed honestly not sure how such a revelation would sound to a confidant human.
His smile, almost like that of a Vampire’s, drew her in and she found herself returning on of her own. It may have been the fact that she was caught up in the moment, but Jayden truly believed it would only take the two of them to have a good time. Of course, it was easier to have a good time when she didn’t have to worry about those around them or about been seen by the Cullen family or someone that may know her secret.
Jayden was both shocked and elated when Caleb clasped her hand, unlike when they first started to touch each other she now worried less about the temperature difference. Now she just enjoyed the contact however fleeting. “I’m not that impatient, but I do like speed.” She smiled teasingly about his speed of driving.
It was true that in the time Jay had known Caleb they had been in a lot of troublesome, but not too dangerous, situations. She still worried if him been with her at all was not more dangerous then his life should be. “That we do, Mr Walker.” She smiled looking at him as he drove. Hearing the location would be private lifted her spirits and all but banished the fear for the day. “So we can really be alone. Sounds great.” She said honestly.
Jayden didn’t know the place when they first stopped, it wasn’t overly familiar, but as she looked she realized it was close to the Cullens’ house. It was a worry, they would catch her scent and his the next time they passed there and Jayden wondered if they’d be suspicious of her been in the company of a human in such a secluded location. Trying to push it all to the back of her mind Jayden took in the place for its own merit and it was beautiful.
“Wow, its amazing. Really Caleb.” She said turning to look at him and his grin. Her smile was bright as she locked eyes with him. “Its nice to be really alone.”

Caleb nodded and put on a satisfied expression as Jayden reassured him that she was grateful for the privilege of him spending so much time and energy on working this date out. It was mutual, of course, and he couldn’t help but feel a smidgen of guilt as he realised that his first date with Katie had been… let’s say… comparable to the one that he had planned for that night. He raised an eyebrow as she admitted that she didn’t date often, genuinely surprised. She was, without a single doubt, extraordinarily beautiful; there was no way that she had lived a sedentary life when she looked that good.
“I’m surprised,” he uttered, his voice softer than usual, which really set it apart from the teasing tone that he usually took when they were playing. “Not that you look like you get around, but I’m sure more than a couple of guys have tried to date you. How high are your standards? Should I be worried?” Towards the end of his questioning the joking tone returned, though it was more a defence mechanism to make light of the situation rather than display his vulnerability – he may have another girl waiting in the wings, but not even a little part of him wanted to give up on Jayden.
Smirking, Caleb pressed his foot down a little harder on the gas, though now that he was on more dirt tracks rather than roads, he still kept the car at a relatively pedestrian speed. “Whatever the lady desires,” he joked, flicking his dark eyes to his passenger for a moment, and then laughed a little. “I’ll have to remember that later…”
The smirk remained on his face as she confirmed that they could find trouble together and he was encouraged by the way she took the heightening innuendo in her stride. He (mostly) didn’t mean anything by it, but he knew he wouldn’t be able to handle any girl that shied away from such banter. “And hopefully it will be great too,” he commented as she agreed that time alone would be good.
Once the car was stationary and he had ‘introduced’ the clearing that they would be spending their time together in, Caleb turned to let himself out of the car, jogging around to open the passenger door and let Jayden out. He locked eyes with her as she sounded suitably impressed with the location – he just hoped that the company would be up to scratch as well. He held out a hand to help her out of the car, a slightly gentler smile on his features. “It’s even stopped raining.”

As she listened to the softer tone Caleb used and his clarification that he didn’t think she was easy she couldn’t help the laughter, she certainly wasn’t easy but the thought and wording made her laugh. “Oh I get around, just not in that way.” She said telling her laugher fall into a smile. “Its not a matter of standards, just my father was sort of reclusive with me so I never met many people.” She explained as honestly as she could, the truth was she’d never met more then a handful of people before he left and after she maintained his ways almost completely. When his joking tone returned Jayden laughed again. “My standards are exceptionally high though you pass easily.” She smiled hoping her smile match the seductive tone of her words.
As he floored the gas peddle Jayden’s laughed again, the speed increased but still not to the speeds she, and it seemed most of her kind, really liked. “You need to go faster to really fulfill my desires.” She teased letting her eyes flick from the road to stare into his dark ones. She knew hers were golden today having taken the precaution to hunt that morning. Although she didn’t crave human blood she never wanted to run the risk of been tempted as she knew she could be at any moment.
Sharing the ease of banter with Caleb was relaxing and invigorating at the same time. Even as their banter became filled with innuendos she still felt comfortable, after all her age was far greater then his even if, perhaps, her experience wasn’t. “It will be great. Just been with you is.” She said honestly and without the shield of banter, she did truly enjoy his company even if that wasn’t for the best.
“You managed to arrange everything, didn’t you?” She asked sharing his gentle smile as she looked at him ignoring the clearing as she stood bringing their bodies closer. “Its beautiful out here.” She said taking a breath of the clear air she knew it would rain later the feeling and scent of it already in the air, but for now it truly was amazing out. There were deer and an few small animals close to the clearing, a fact that didn’t escape Jayden though she felt no need for their blood just yet. Still holding his hand Jayden stepped even closer to Caleb causing her to look up to still be able to maintain eye contact. “This is amazing. Thank you.” She said in a hushed tone.
