Jared's smile alone was almost enough to convince her that he was actually pleased that she had accepted his offer to teach her some yoga on the beach. He certainly seemed genuine enough, and really hadn't given her any reason to doubt it. It was her own self-doubt over the situation that made it seem unreal or at best some wonderful dream. She didnt even question what she believed to be the fact that this would mean a whole lot more to her than it ever would to him. At best she figured he was just a friendly guy who was trying to get on terms with his new class partner. It was above and beyond what other students would do, but Jared was someone special, that much she knew from the day she first saw him at school.
The laugh that Jared gave surprised Kim. She thought that it was a very logical question to ask and that there was very good chance she could be bothering him by being there. Afterall, part of what probably made the spot so relaxing early in the morning was the fact that there weren't a lot of people around. It seemed only natural that having some girl he hardly knew show up, not knowing how to do yoga and asking a lot of questions, could very well not only get in his way but bother him. But she gave a smile as he seemed to think it was a ridiculous thought and said how he wouldnt have told her about it if he thought it'd be bothering him, before giving a wink that made her melt. "I guess not..." She replied, happily having the knowledge that he didnt see her as a bother.
Kim hadn't thought through the idea of going to do yoga on the beach well enough to realize that she'd be in a bathing suit in front of him. Even more she'd be likely seeing him in a swimsuit as well. She took mental note of everything she'd need (including how to wear her hair) and gave a nod. "Alright, sounds good" She agreed as he said he'd take care of the rest. He had offered to walk her over from her house she was about to say no that it would be too much out trouble for him, but remembered what he had said about not mentioning it if it was. She loved the idea of him picking her up, as if it were a date like her dreams would make it. It would probably only happen once so she might as well try for it. "Um, we could meet at my house unless its much out of your way"

Jared smiled, glad that she was agreeing to go. Normally he wouldn’t want anyone to know where to find him, the only person that did was Sam. But now he was opening up to a class mate, though he couldn’t shake the feeling that she wasn’t just the usual class mate. She was beautiful, and sweet, and most likely smart. Plus he couldn’t fight the overwhelming need to protect her, and oddly enough to comfort her, make her smile.
He wondered for a moment if it was possible for a female to become a werewolf too, and if so maybe she was going to be changing soon. Maybe that was why she had this outrageous pull on him...
“Perfect,” he said with a bright smile. “Where do you live? I live pretty close to the beach, but I don’t mind if its out of my way. Besides, just before sunrise can be pretty dark, and if you don’t have a car theres no way I’m letting you walk around by yourself.” he stated matter of factly. “Oh and the reason I asked for your hair to be up is so that you can see me if you look up from some of the yoga positions. They can be a little topsy turvy,” he laughed realizing the request probably sounded strange.

Kim smiled again at his chivalry, the idea of him not wanting her to have to walk alone in the dark, even insisting he walk her if that was the case. "I don't live too far from the beach either" She told him, the truth was the reservation was all pretty close to the beach. "It's the white house down the road between the rez clinic and the market. " She told him. One of the perks of being a small tribe was that it was easy to give directions.
She could already feel the butterflies in her stomach and a warm tingling feeling going through her in excitement at the prospect of spending a morning alone with him, and the idea that he actually wanted her there or at least wasn't bothered by the idea (which to her was more than she'd ever expected).
Kim let out a light laugh as he explained his reasoning for telling her that she should wear her hair up. She was sure she'd be wanting to sneak quite a few looks at him during some of those poses, though afterwards she knew her face would be red, hopefully she could brush that off to just the blood rush of the poses. " That's probably a good idea, so I can see how to do them right...just don't laugh too hard if I fall on my face" She said with a smirk.

Jared smiled from ear to ear, it was as if it were some strange twist of fate. “We’re practically neighbors,” he told her, “I live three houses down from the market.” He laughed, not believing his luck. What were the odds that his new class partner, whom smelled of fresh cut flowers and looked like a model lived so close. On the other hand, he was aware that the Rez wasn’t exactly huge.
He smiled when he heard her laugh, it may sound all types of corny but the sound was like heaven. At least it killed the crazy worry in him that he was coming on too strong, or being too forward. To be quite honest he wasn’t even succeeding at thinking before he spoke, which wasn’t like himself. Everything he said or did was usually some what thought about or measured before he acted. It was refreshing.
The young man laughed and turned back to face the front of the class just before the teacher walked in. He had heard the older woman’s two inch heels coming down the hall, it was times like these he wished he could zone those sounds out. Leaning toward her a bit and lowering his voice he said, “sand is good for the face, it exfoliates.” He smiled and leaned back to his side of the table.

"That's not far at all" Kim said surprised to learn just how close to each other they lived. She was glad to learn which house was his from him, rather than having determined it on her own due to her crush, by either watching him or asking around. This way was much better and more satisfying when she got the answer. Her mind began to run off with her imagining how if they got to be friends (or more) that they could even walk to and from school together. Or meet on Saturday's at a spot in between their houses, or surprise each sometime.
Kim had to look away briefly, finding that looking right at him only fueled the fantasies that she was sure were only that and nothing more. It was great to daydream and even more to have these small gestures to encourage it, but she was afraid if she thought too much on them now she' d slip up and say the wrong thing, better to dream of it at home.
She looked down at her pen and notebook again as she could hear the teacher's voice as she walked in. Turning her head back to Jared slightly, surprised he was still talking to her as class was starting, she had to stifle a laugh from his next suggestion that sand was good for the face. Once her laugh was sucessfully held in to keep from drawing attention to herself she looked back over at him. "That's good, we'll say that's why I'm doing a nose dive into it" She joked.

Jared spent most of the time listening to the teacher drone on. But his mind was elsewhere, it was focused on the scent that consumed him and calmed his aching limbs. He was bewildered as to what was causing such a thing, though he wasn’t complaining. He gave the class room a once over, checking to see what could have changed, as if to afraid to admit to himself there was only one possible cause.
He walked her to her next class in hopes he would get to see her some time besides the allotted lunch time. He realized being in places like a cafeteria where there was so much going on tended to speed his heart rate up, or at least cause some type of odd stress so he tended to spend his lunch times shooting hoops in the gym, eating his lunch alone.
The day seemed to go by sluggishly slow, and he was hoping each time in the halls that he would pass Kim again. And every time he thought of her he felt for the thin piece of paper she’d written her number on. He wanted to call her when he got home, cause the weekend seemed like it would take forever to come. But, he knew better than that, it was a guy code not to call too early and seem too needy, like a stalker.
When the school bell blared he was all too excited and practically ran out of the class room. He saw her hair, it was shining in the sun light and he smiled eagerly before holding up a hand and shouting her name, “Kim! Hey Kim!”

Kim's notes in class that day were far more sparse than they were on most days. Sure she was usually distracted by sharing a class with Jared, but this had been so much more. The entire class her mind kept replaying their conversation since they sat next to each other. So many small details and tiny things that had meant so much to her, and she wanted to make sure that she didn't forget any of them. She also wanted to be sure that hadn't missed any suggestion that he was just trying get help with his homework or some more logical reason for him to want to spend time with her. She had to force herself to not keep glancing at him throughout the class.
When it was over he walked her to her next class and they chatted a little more. Perhaps he really did want to be friends with her. It seemed strange, like it had come out of no where, having share the same classes and school for awhile now, but she wasn't complaining at all, and assumed he figured they'd have a project or something in the future to work on so why not be friends now.
The rest of the day had been boring and a bit long. She ended up doodling frequently in her other classes, not able to concentrate. The last page of one of her notebooks ended up filled with variations of Jared's name in a heart, or tagging on his last name to the end of hers as she had often done in her diary at home. Somehow now it seemed like a stronger fantasy, or at least a better crush, she knew him a little more now.
Kim felt a sadness fill her at the end of the day. There was no chance of walking into him in the halls now that she was leaving, and there was always the chance she'd just wake up and find this was a strangely realistic dream. Gathering her things from her locker, Kim gave a light sight before closing it and turning to head home. She had had just about left the building when she heard it. Her head shot up as she heard her name being called from behind her. She knew that voice, though she was still getting used to hearing it say her name. She turned and smiled as she saw Jared. She smiled at him and gave a light wave, but didn't move, figuring he must have spotted her and thought he'd say goodbye. The sadness she had felt earlier was completely gone now. "Hey Jared!"

Jared was grinning now, he could feel it. The muscles in his face was almost hurting from it. Her hair seemed to glimmer in the bit of sunlight that wasn’t hidden by the coming clouds. He could imagine this was the kind of moment that angels would sing in the background if he was in a movie, and she would flip her hair. He shook his head and laughed at himself as he held his book bag onto one shoulder and jogged over to where she stood.
“Hey, mind some company?” he asked with a smile. Mentally, he kicked himself in the shin. He was definitely coming on too strong, but he couldn’t help it. It was as if he knew she didn’t mind, or maybe that was wishful thinking. He was going to need to talk to someone about this, it couldn’t be right. Werewolf or not. “how were your classes?” ‘Really!’ He was mentally yelling at himself. ‘How were your classes?! Lame!’ He might need to talk to someone about the talking to himself thing too.
He hoped she didn’t notice. Jared had dated before and his last crush was at 13 on his english teacher, but nothing like this. He’d never felt so...oddly at ease when she was there. He had the strange urge to brush her hair behind her ear, to see if it felt as soft as it looked. But, he fought himself not too.

As Jared made his way over to where Kim was standing she had to stop herself from looking over her shoulder to make sure he wasn't coming to see someone else. He had said her name after all. And when he looked at her, she felt a certain sense of certainty that his attention was on her alone. She had never felt that way before. The way he looked at her, and the fact that she did have his attention of everyone here right now, it made her feel special.
She couldn't help but smile as soon as he came over to her side. "Uh, sure, that would be nice" She responded as he asked if she minded some company. She figured they lived fairly close by so would be headed in the same direction. "We're practically neighbors afterall...you headed home now?" She asked, realizing her assumption was that he was asking her for company leaving the school but maybe he was sticking around for basketball practice or something. She hoped her face hadn't gotten too red with embarrassment.
"Classes were alright. I had a studyhall after lunch so I was able to get some work done" She said, knowing really she didn't do a whole lot of work, but she couldn't exactly tell him she was doodling his name in her notebook. "How about yours?"

Kim seemed to hold a smile as he walked up to her, and he wondered if she felt it too. “Heading home, I have a lot of work I’m still making up,” he told her. He’d missed a lot of days that first week after the transformation. He kind of had to since he kept changing on the wim and vomiting from the constant stress on his body. Plus the fact that he would change into a giant wolf and not be able to change back at some points. He shuddered slightly at the not so distant memories.
His smile was easy, as it often was, “It was boring, and dragged on, I guess you could say my mind was elsewhere,” he told her honestly. Once again he wondered if he was coming on too strong. But flirting was harmless right? And maybe she wouldn’t even catch that he was flirting...
He adjusted the strap of his back pack and waved at a group of their class mates as they walked by, one of them yelled something about next monday’s game. “They don’t stand a chance,” he shouted back, he noticed the look a couple girls were giving, and he winks of a few of his teammates. They made his temperature rise just slightly, he placed his palm on the small of her back for the briefest moment to lead her away, and toward the rows of houses.
“You ready for Sunday?” he asked. They lived about ten minutes from the school, and he had to fight himself not to take baby steps.

"Yeah, I guess you probably do have a lot to make up...did you go on a trip? Or not feeling well?" Kim asked, hoping she wasn't being too intrusive with her question, but hoping it was okay since he brought it up. She had definitely noticed his absence from class, but hadn't wanted to mention anything and seem like a stalker for knowing when he was and wasn't in school, especially before they had even really talked, like they had today. " You know, if you need any help catching up..I'd be glad to help" She offered nervously.
"Oh..." She commented as he mentioned his mind being elsewhere during classes, making them drag on. It had actually been what happened for her too, even if she hadn't admitted it. But it couldn't have been the same reasons for him? Could it...? Was he trying to tell her that he had been thinking about her or was she just reading too much into it? She was sure it was all just wishful thinking. "My day seemed to kinda drag too actually" She admitted.
She stayed quiet and kept her eyes down for the most part as he spoke to his friends about the game and they passed by others. She was pretty good at going unnoticed most of the time, and knew she wouldn't be helping his popularity much. But she looked up as he put his hand on her back leading her away from the school. Her heart raced at even the slightest touch, and it felt warm and comforting. She smiled softly to herself as she kept walking, her head held a little higher now.
"Yeah, I can't wait!" She said with a little too much enthusiasm. "It's really nice of you to show me how to do it"

Jared tensed, but only for about a millisecond. “I was really sick, it wasn’t pretty,” he laughed trying to make light of what had to be the worst week of his life. He had to have his mother go to the school to pick up the homework, but she wasn’t aloud to know. So the week and a half ended with him picking up a mound of homework he wasn’t looking forward to. “Thanks,” he said with a smile, “it’s not really hard, theres just A LOT of it. But, I wouldn’t mind you sticking around.” he told her matter-of-factly.
He wasn’t sure if she wasn’t catching his bit of flirting cause she wasn’t paying attention to it, or maybe she just wasn’t interested. He hoped it wasn’t the later. He silently wondered if their days were both dragging for a common purpose.
He laughed when she seemed so excited about yoga. He was still a bit surprised she hadn’t thought he was odd for his habits. Not every guy his age was going to the beach at sunrise to do yoga, after a purely vegetarian diet. Either way, her enthusiasm was adorable. It only furthered his inexplicable need to protect her. “Each one teach one, or something like that, right?” he laughed.

"Well I'm glad that you seem to be feeling better now" Kim said assuming that he was, since he looked pretty health to her and was at least in good spirits. She knew when she was sick she pretty much curled up in a ball under a blanket and wanted the world to disappear. She was nervous about her offer to help him catch up, worried she'd seem too interested, and this on top of the phone number and yoga 'date' would be too much and make Jared think she was coming on too strong, regretting initiating any friendship with her.
She was a little confused by his response, he didnt need help but wouldnt mind her sticking around. "Ok...um you can let me know" She said leaving it at that, deciding if he wanted her around he could call, he had her number and knew now she was willing. She just hoped she didnt seem too willing. What guy wanted a girl who was practically throwing themselves at them (at least in her mind she thought she was, since this was the most contact she had with most guys, let alone her dream guy). Most guys wanted the chase. They also wanted the popular and pretty girls. She wasn't sure where that left her.
Kim knew she had sounded overeager with her enthusiasm at doing yoga with him. Sure she did have an interest in yoga, but the thrilling part was spending time with him, doing anything. She blushed at his laugh, knowing he realized how excited she was. "Yeah, something like that...guess I've gotta figure out something I can teach you to pay you back"
