Paul had gotten bored and wanted time to himself. He wanted to wander and see what he could find, for no particular reason. Where can I go.. he asked himself. The forest..nobody will be near the treaty line. It's in the denser half.. His decision was made and without telling anyone, he began his journey into the Hoh. He had obviously knew been there more times than he could count so navigation was not an issue.
As he got deeper and deeper into the trees, density increased and he heard more and more animals around. Some of the noises weren't just animals. Some could've been a different kind of creature: a werewolf or another shifter...some even a blood-sucker. He was close enough to the line to hear from both sides of the line. Of course, he couldn't distinguish one sound from another. His exceptional hearing was only active in wolf form, and he had decided to stay human for this walk. It was the only way , afterall, to be truely alone. His thoughts were his own. Besides, if he was a human, it didn't make much of a difference if he accidentally crossed into Cullen territory. That would not be good if he did that as a wolf. Sam would personally kill me. his thoughts concluded.
Soon he was lost in thought and didn't even know where he was. He didn't bother figuring that out. He knew the area and could figure out his precise location at any moment. His aimless wandering continued as did the sounds of other beings around him, yet too far for him to see.

Lexi had been driving down this stretch of road for quite some time now and was getting sore. She knew she needed to stretch out her legs soon and pulled over to the side of the street. She was in La Push, but her parents wouldn't mind. Though she really didn't even know anyone here, she figured she might as well try to meet some new people.
Lexi put her car in park and took her keys out. She locked her door behind her and looked at the forest laid out in front of her. She took a deep breath as she slid her car keys into her jean pocket. She was thankful she had decided to wear a light sweater-shirt today. She pulled the grey sleeves done around her wrist as the wind played with her brown hair. She headed into the woods, her tennis shoes crunching on the leaves.
Lexi had been wondering around for quite some time now. All she could hear were the animals, not the cars passing on the roads. She continued to carefully climb over fallen limbs and such and headed deeper into the woods. Then, suddenly, she heard footsteps that weren't hers. She stopped dead in her tracks. "H-hello?" She called out in a shaky voice. She took a step forward, careful not to step on anything in case it was an animal. "Is anyone there?" She took another step and ended up stepping on a tree limb that had fallen, it snapping loudly under her foot. "Crap!" She yelled.

Paul had turned his attention to the new noises he began to hear once he got to a certain point. In the distance, he had heard someone breaking the surface of the dead leaves and twigs. Dang, I wish I could phase right now.. human hearing is useless. he had thought to himself, trying to figure out what the noise was. He wasn't , at all, afraid. He was solely curious as to see if someone else was near.
Soon enough, the source of the noise was getting closer and he could tell they would collide soon if he didn't change course. He also knew that it was a human that was giving off that scent. Crap.. he began to think. Someone's curiosity is going to get them in some trouble. he moaned. This human obviously knew nothing about La Push and the "killer bears" that owned the woods. I could just leave and hope they find their way out. The thought was irrational once it occurred to him that the person wasn't even headed towards the road. They were heading inward. Perfect, I'm involved. Feeling obligated to try to steer the person away, he came closer.
Once really close, the human had heard him. Hello? could be heard from that direction. It's a female..and she's stuttering. She's afraid. Good, this may not take as long. He took a deep breath and approached her. "Hi.." he said, trying to hide his aggitation.

Lexi was still stumbling through the forest, trying to find some way out. Her heart was pounding in her chest. She bit her bottom lip to keep from screaming as she heard, Hi . Yes, it was a little silly, but she thought she was alone. She looked up to see a guy, close to her age. "Hi." She said, a smile playing on her lips.
She looked at this guy. He had to be a local resident of La Push. He had tanned skin, dark black hair, and deep brown eyes. She brushed a strand of hair out of her face. "What are you doing in here?" She asked, her gaze dropping.
It wasn't that she was insecure, she was more or less a little shy sometimes when it came to guys. Though she liked to flirt, she had to warm up to the guy at first.

Paul looked her up and down. This pale face was most definately not from La Push. When she asked him what he was doing there, he hesitated. Unsure of what to say he thought for a moment. You can't let her stay, she might see something. And you certainly can't sound all mysterious, she'll get curious. How am I supposed to get rid of her? Ugh just calm down, she's just a normal person. It's not like she's investigating. He nodded very slightly, coming to an agreement with his own thoughts. "I'm here because I want to be alone, get away from my brothers." he answered casually.
He then took a moment to really look at her. She wasn't much older than him if at all. She was an average looking brunette with eyes standing out as her most dominant feature. "Your turn." he said satisfactorily, referring to his explanation. He was curious as to why she was there, he didn't often see outsiders wandering around the area. He was careful to keep his tone flat and calm. He knew that if she said something that would annoy him, he'd have to get away from her. For this reason, every action was gradual.

Lexi nodded when he said he wanted to get away from his brothers. She didn't know what that was like, being an only child and all. "I see..." She whispered, nodding a little.
"Your turn." Lexi looked at him. "Oh, me?" She ran a hand through her hair, pulling it out of her face. "I was just out driving and my legs started to get a little numb. I figured that it would be good to get out and walk to stretch them out." She laughed slightly. "Didn't realize I'd end up being scared by a local..." She said, her voice trailing off.
She looked around the forest. "It's so peaceful here. Nothing like in town." She said, looking back at the guy. "Oh, excuse me, I've been so rude." She smiled a little. "My name is Alexandria Hamilton and I live in Forks." She paused for a moment and played with a ring on her right hand. "You can call me Lexi though....if you want." A smile played on the corners of her mouth.

Paul loosened up ever so slightly. He was tense to be with this stranger and have her on his territory, though she didn't seem like she knew that. She seemed...nice. Lexi. He had not seen her before. He chuckled, knowing that she knew he was a "local". Then he had heard her say how peaceful it was. "Yea, it's peaceful..pale-faces don't often get around here because it's so dense and near La Push borders. 'Locals' don't get around this area because they know about the bears." he said with a smirk on his face.
He watched her fidget with her fingers, noticing she seemed a little awkward. "Hi, Lexi. I'm Paul Ketwa, but that's Mr.Ketwa to you." he said in a joking tone. He always knew just how to loosen people up, an ironic skill for somebody who could crack in anger at any given moment. "If you don't mind me asking, where are you headed? Do you go there often? Because this isn't exactly the best place to stretch your legs." he noted in a completely casual tone, being sure not to show a hint of aggitation.

Lexi listened to him mention something about the pale-faces and she thought that maybe he was talking about her pale-ish complexion. She shook her head, That couldn't be it. Her attention snapped back to him with the mention of bears. "B-bears...?" Fear filled her eyes.
"Pleasure to meet you, Mr. Ketwa." She smiled a little, trying not to giggle. "If you don't mind me asking, where are you headed? Do you go there often? Because this isn't exactly the best place to stretch your legs." "Oh, I've only been living her for about four years now and I don't usually go anywhere. I tend to stay in Forks..." She sighed. "I hear some of the other kids around school talk about La Push and I decided that while my parents were out of town for a doctors convention to come and check it out for myself." She smiled.

OOC: No problem about the inactiveness. I've been on less myself, health issues. Dizziness and bright screen don't make for useful eyes Paul had to try to keep from laughing. He could tell what curiosity his mention of the "pale-faces" had brought to her. He didn't have to keep from using the term because nobody ever asked for him to evaluate. Sure, he knew he was talking about vampires. Though, to most people outside La Push, he had a darker skin tone. Whatever worked, worked. He was usually careless in his choosing of words but it had never gotten him into any real trouble.
"Well, yeah, but they don't really look like bears. More like giant wolves..That's why I'm surprised to see you here. Most people don't want to see one. The people here know more about them so they have no fear." he shrugged, slightly teasing. "I guess you're one of those people." he continued, knowing that what he had just said was incorrect. It was his attempt to keep her away. "If it's a tourist place you're looking for, there's a nice beach nearby.".

OOC: Okay. Hope your health issues straighten out. (:
Lexi looked at Paul and cocked her head slightly to the side. "Uhm...giant wolves?" She laughed slightly. "Wouldn't that just be a really big wolf and not a bear?" She said in a teasing tone. She nodded to his comment. "Yeah, I'm fearless." She smiled.
"If it's a tourist place you're looking for, there's a nice beach nearby." Lexi looked at him and scoffed. "A beach?! No way...I rather stay here and see some of those so called giant wolves." She smiled a little. "They sound way cooler than some lame beach."

Paul raised an eyebrow and remained casual. "Well, they've been described in that way, though I only ever hear them called bears. I..haven't even seen one myself." he replied, trying to get her thoughts away from the fact that something could be interesting, giving her a reason to return. "Suit yourself." he said, beginning to turn away.
He quickly decided against leaving. He didn't want to in any way lead her further into the forest. "Do you need help finding your way out?" he asked, growing anxious at the fact that she wanted to stay. It was his territory and he was very territorial. OOC: Thank you and sorry it's so short.

OOC: It's okay. (:
Lexi shook her head. "Has anyone actually seen them?" She muttered. She watched him turn away and shrugged. She would "suit herself" as he said. She turned to walk further into the woods.
"Do you need help finding your way out?" She turned back towards him and shook her head. "No thanks. I have my cell...so I could just call someone to come and get me." She showed him her cell. "Why do you want me to leave so badly?" She asked out loud, but meant to say to herself. She dropped her gaze.

Paul shrugged again and sighed. "I know nothing more than you now know." he muttered. He was never the best at making a lie sound convincing. He then noticed that her only help in mind was going to come from some random person she could call on her phone. "Maybe I should show you out..just incase." he said, ignoring her last question. He just didn't want her to see anything and getting her headed in the right direction was very important to him.
Fact of the matter was, he didn't believe she was even capable of getting out herself. If one of the pack members was out, they would probably kill Paul if he wasn't making an effort to keep this girl away. What if she saw a wolf? It could have happened any second.

Lexi looked at him. "I'm fine...really." She took a step back. "I can take care of myself, you know?" She shook her head, turning her back towards him and walking further into the forest.
She was slightly mad at herself. Here she met this new guy and thought that maybe she had made a new friend. Ha! Seemed more like she was being an imposition on him. She shrugged it off, pulling out her cell to text her parents to see what they were up to.
OOC: How do we keep missing each other?! lol

OOC: Jajaja, I know! We keep doing that.. Paul approached her, refusing to let her go alone. "Wait!" he attempted to make her stop. "That's , uuh, that's the wrong way." he desperately tried to convince her. He ran in front of her, blocking her path. He didn't want to frighten her so he kept a small distance between them, letting her know he wasn't going to touch her.
"Taking care of yourself would be using good judgement. I know you've just met me but you really should turn around.." he said, getting worse at trying to hide his fear. He was already involved with her too much and wouldn't watch her walk straight into their patrol grounds.
