Embry risked a peek over to Isabelle, to be startled when she was looking right at him. At first he must have look very lost, but the corners of his mouth slowly turned upward into the smallest grin. For almost a second he forgot the blood rushing to his head and was able to just appreciate her being so nice and interesting. His smile widened when she agreed to meet with him the next day anyway. "Yea, we should still do something," he said, not quite recognizing his nerve, but encouraged by the look on her face. He liked the suggestions she gave him, though he was surprised that she'd think of watching a movie. He would have loved to take her up on that, but he saw that her gaze dropped to the sand again. The little bit of encouragement Embry had felt had melted immediately. She probably had said it before really considering what it would imply. He too, stared at the beach before them, trying to force the disappointment out of his face. He felt stupid for reacting like this, it's not like she didn't want to be friends since she still seemed to want to hang out. He held onto the possibility of friendship, and regained his small smile. "Hiking sounds good," he said trying to sound upbeat. "As you can see," he added with a glance at the edge of the forest, "there's plenty of hiking spots." Hiking didn't sound that bad anyway, Embry enjoyed the outdoors like everyone else, and at least he still got to hang out with her.

Isabelle laughed. It looked as though she had caught him off guard. She smiled widely as she watched the expression change to one she was a little more used to. A small grin on his perfect face, “sorry,” she whispered barely loud enough for him to ear. For once her cheeks didn’t feel any warmer, but she considered the fact that it had probably reached the peak of pink that could flush her cheeks. She looked away, and back once more when he agreed they should still do something. Isabelle nodded.
Isabelle kept her eyes focused on the grains of sand as they walked. She’d messed up when she asked what he meant about the girlfriends thing, she hoped he didn’t notice she had implied a location that was usually for dates. Isabelle didn’t want to scare him off. She frowned slightly still staring at the ground when he chose hiking. That was definitely not a date type of thing. It saddened her a bit that he didn’t choose the movies, even though she never really expected him to.
Isabelle looked up, replacing the frown with a delicate smile. She giggled, “I’ll bring the snacks and stuff, you pick the spot.” She offered. “Deal?” she asked, a little giddy at the fact they were going to see each other again. Hiking was better than nothing.

Embry's smiled returned in full force when she seemed keen on the hiking idea. He had been afraid that he would have to leave it up to chance that they run into each other. And then he would have had to hope that Quil wasn't around to embarrass him and that he'd be able to say something not stupid. There were just too many things that could go wrong. At least things had gone right and they were at least hanging out the next day. He tried to keep himself from overanalyzing himself and jinx it all. He'd start stumbling and making a fool of himself. He dug his hands deeper into his pockets, bracing himself against the wind, nodding at Issy.
"Deal, food sounds great," he said, impressed. A girl bringing food, what else could be so perfect? He had immediately thought of the place he wanted to take her. It wasn't too far to tire them out, but far enough to take up a few good hours for them to hang out. "I know exactly where we're going," he told her with a knowing smile.

Isabelle smiled widely. If he thought it sounded great, that was enough for her. Issy smiled when he mentioned he knew the perfect place to go. That meant their would be a perfect spot for them to sit and have their lunch in peace, and maybe she wouldn’t feel so jumpy. Though she doubted that, he made her blush more than maybe line ever could. The girl looked down at the skin of her hand, glad that the caramel complexion was a tint for the blush. Like tinted windows kept the sun out, her color kept the pink in.
The breeze whipped her hair around, sending it flying in all directions. Isabelle fought with It for a moment. Hoping she didn’t look too crazy. She tied her scrunchy around her chestnut mane, pulling it into a tight pony tail. “So should we meet here at the beach?” she asked looking around. The sand was coming to its end, and she instinctively stopped where she was. She looked back in the direction from whence they came, not wanting to head back yet, but knowing she would still get another chance to see him.

Embry's smiled mirrored hers, though he may have thought that his gave away too much enthusiasm and hers was due to her kindness. He was suddenly nervous that they would be hiking and having lunch, just the two of them. It sort of sounded like a date anyway, though judging from her hesitation he was sure it wasn't. His little heart sighed a little, but he was still glad they were going to hang out. There was no reason to get all depressed and miss out on a potentially cool friend.
"Yea, here is fine," he told her, glad he wasn't the only one picking out spots. He didn't want her to think he was monopolizing their plans. "I live just a bit that way, not too far." He smlied as her hair tried to strangle her and glad that she was able to defend herself well. He caught her looking back from where they came from, and he wondered what time it was. She probably wanted to go back and he was acting like an idiot and stalling here. "So, yea," he said quietly, trying to hide the disappointment that was slowly creeping up. "I'll see ya tomorrow?" he asked, checking to see if he hadn't misunderstood anything.

The petite girl looked up to find him smiling even after the wrestling match with her stray strands. She half wondered why he seemed to have no problem with her dorky klutziness. He would smile, and maybe laugh, but he never really poked fun. Quil always messed with her about her ability to fall over invisible drift wood. It was as if bad things just followed her, like the wind that had attempted to hide her face from his.
“Oh.” That was all she could make out, “I live that a way.” she said attempting to bring the smile to her face once more. She knew the night had to come to an end…but she had wished it was later. “Yeah, see ya,” she smiled and stuffed her hands further into her pockets. But she couldn’t let that be it. Quil never seemed to mind when she hugged him good bye. And, in brasil you gave kisses on the cheek. She couldn’t decide which was right to do and quickly gave in to impulse.
A light blush filled her cheeks and she leaned over and gave him a kiss on the cheek, realizing he may take it negatively she pulled back. She bit her lip and with a small voice she yelped, “Bye.” Issy turned on her heels and jogged toward home, a smile on her face. She had finally showed her bashful side who was boss.

Embry glanced in the direction in which she lived in, disappointed that it was in the opposite direction as his. But he immediately felt better when she confirmed that they were on the same page, and would meet tomorrow in the morning. He saw her fidget slightly, deliberating their departure. Before he could add in another awkward sentence that would make a fool of him, she leaned over and had kissed him on the cheek. He froze in shock, a giddy grin growing on his face as she turn where she stood and walked away before he could kick start his heart to react. He blissfully watched her brown hair wave behind her as she went home, and he imagined the scent he'd caught of her when she leaned in. He seemed to have tried to say 'bye' a few different times, but each attempt died in his lips as he tried to think past the smoldering spot on his cheek where her lips had been.
For a second he was afraid that he would have imagined it all if he moved from where he was, but he thought of tomorrow and finally whispered a low 'g'nite' before smiling brightly and walking home slowly against the wind.
