Character Basics
Name:Alec
Nickname:The Witch Twin
Age:appears to be 14, but is roughly 372 years old (born circa 1635)
Appearance
Looks: At first glance, Alec is very much innocent seeming. His youthful and boyish face hint at jubilation and a carefree attitude, but his mannerisms, and mode of dress are in stark contrast to what his face would suggest. Alec is of slight build, and physically unimposing. His small stature and thin limbs would make him something of a joke, if not for the fact that He carries himself with a confidence that is rarely seen in even other vampires.
As far as clothing goes, Alec keeps it as simple... and gothic.. as possible. He always wears black, regardless of whether he is donning his cloak or not, and his dress style would not be out of place in eighteenth century England. The dark colors, paired with the gothic cuts of his clothing, and the royal embellishment, give off an air of supreme superiority.
Scars, tattoos, other marks:none
Portrayed by: cameron bright
Personality and Stats
Basic Personality:Alec is in many ways the polar opposite of Jane. While she is outspoken in her mannerisms, and doesn’t hide the fact that she is an extreme sadist, Alec is often aloof and seemingly happy. This gives off the air that he is the “nicer” of the twins, though anyone who thinks this is gravely mistaken. Alec is calculating, always gauging his opponents reactions before he strikes. His unpredictability make him a dangerous combatant, as he will strike without warning, and all the while wearing that clam mask that so often clouds his true nature.
Alec is very intelligent; He thinks everything through, and isn’t one to rush into battle or any other venture without a well organized plan. He knows a great deal about virtually any subject, and this comes across in his conversations, as he is well read and well spoken.
When not in a situation of battle, he is calm, and even enjoys teasing his sister playfully. He is a good conversationalist in the rare instances that he feels like talking, though this is rather rare. Alec is very reserved, and contents himself with sitting in the background and watching everything and everyone around him.
He generally doesn’t give his opinion, and just goes along with whatever the brothers decide. However, when he does feel that he needs to speak up, he makes sure he is heard- one way or another.
Species:Vampire
Abilities: Sensory Paralysis: Alec and his sister Jane are known as the most horrifying vampire twins due to their powerful gifts. He has the ability to cut off a person or vampire's senses, which stems from the pain after being burned alive, as he didn't want to feel anything. He can completely block the senses of his chosen target, allowing the Volturi to easily execute him. His power is one of the primary reasons that the Volturi are untouchable. Its physical manifestation is a sort of a shimmering hazy mist and it cannot be affected by the physical materials like wind or gravity. Unlike Jane, Alec can affect multiple targets; therefore he is more dangerous than her. However, while Jane's power works immediately, Alec's power requires time to take effect. Since their gifts are long range, he and his sister fight from the sidelines, under the protection of bodyguards.
Limitations/weakness of power: Alec cannot affect anyone with a mental shield (such as Bella Cullen). Also, his gift takes time to take effect, granting the vampire a slim chance of survival if they are able to take him out before his power hits them.
Occupation:One of the top guards within the Volturi

History:
Birthplace:Salem, Massachusetts
Family:Genevieve (Mother, deceased Circa 1221)
Henry (Father, deceased circa 1230)
Jane (Twin sister, member of the volturi)
Friends:All of the members of the Volturi, and sees Aro as his father
History: In the year of our lord 1208, in a tiny village, a mother gave birth to twins: Jane and Alexander. Alec was only a few minutes older than his sister. Due to unfortunate complications surrounding the birth of the twins, their mother Mercy passed a few hours after the birth. Though the tragedy of the incident was huge, the wives of the area tried to soften the blow of Mercy’s passing as one of joy: she had brought twins into the world! the mood lightened a little, but not even the miracle of life could break through the heart of their father.
Henry was a bitter and cold man, more focused on his trade as a blacksmith than his role as a father. In his mind, when his wife had announced her pregnancy, he had not taken it as a blessing, but as one more mouth to feed. With the birth of twins, he only saw his monetary stability going out the window in conjunction to the birth of his twins. From the day that they were born, Henry set out to make his kid’s lives as unbearable as possible, Alec in particular; and with no mother to contradict him or to mollycoddle the two, he had free rein to do as he pleased. He would yell and beat the poor boy for the smallest of infractions, and as the years went by Alec developed a severe hatred for his father. This trauma caused Alec to become all the more closer to his sister.
Alec and Jane were always very close from a young age, and would often spend hours upon hours sitting in their room, whispering and talking about anything and everything at all. It was all they could do to keep each other away from the tyrant that was their father. The abuse only seemed to get worse for little Alec, which made him more withdrawn. He became the quiet one of the two, keeping to himself more and more, until the only person he could openly communicate with was Jane. It didn’t help matters that the highly superstitious town saw the twins as something.. abnormal, wrong even. They were too close, they said, and their mannerisms were something of evil.
Still, the twins maintained the close relationship between each other, always looking out for the other (Or more accurately, Jane looking out for Alec). They seemed to compliment each other perfectly. Jane was always on the offensive, fighting and lashing out at others for being mean to her brother; on Alec’s part, he was the one to rein his sister in. In fact, he was the only one able to control her wild swings of mood.
When the twins were eight, they began to meet with a strange dark haired man every once and a while down by the river of their town. The townsfolk noticed, but when questioned, the twins would always give the same response: “Just a man from a few towns over.” In truth, the man was Aro, and he had begun to notice that the twins seemed to have some sort of potential. They were highly attuned to the other, almost as if able to read the others thoughts. From using his ability, Aro learned that Alec and Jane even thought along the same lines. Aro was intrigued by the prospect of the twins, and the fierce anger that lay at the root of Alec’s being, coupled with the cruelty and delight in pain that Jane showed at her core, made Aro more excited about these two.
For the next few years, life went as normally as was possible for the twins. Henry continued to torment the twins, Alec continued to become more and more withdrawn, and Jane continued to fight and be more outspoken in defense of her best friend and brother. Though the visits from Aro had stopped, the leader of the volturi continued to monitor the twins from afar. The more he saw, the more he thought that there was something special about these two. He continued to wait, biding his time until they were old enough to be changed. Aro was planning on changing them on their eighteenth birthday, but Fate intervened in a big way.
On the eve of the twins’ fourteenth birthday, their father suffered a heart attack. It was only mild, but at that time it was seen as a horrible malediction. The townsfolk rushed to his home and helped nurse him back to health, and for the next few hours he was surrounded by concerned neighbors, all fretting and fussing over their precious blacksmith. Henry, seeing this as his way out, denounced his own twins as the culprits of his malediction, claiming that they had bewitched him. The townspeople had already had their suspicions of the twins, and were only too happy to have a reason to get rid of them.
Though Jane and Alec ran from the home and attempted to make their way out of the village, they couldn’t outrun the older and stronger men, and were captured and brought to a makeshift holding cell. They were separated, because Henry claimed they only had powers when they could “chant the devils spells” together. That was the most agonizing time for Alec. He sat in a completely different building than Jane, begging for them to let him see her once more. He was half blind with rage and grief, and the feeling that his life- and more importantly, Jane’s.. Was going to come to an end very soon.
On the morning of their fourteenth birthday, two men came in and dragged Alec to the stake where they were to be incinerated in flame. The walk seemed to go by in the blink of an eye, as Alec’s feet moved him closer and closer to the simple wooden stake that would soon be the place of his death. He had decided over night that he would not give them the satisfaction of seeing him cry, and so Alec kept his feelings composed... until he saw her. Jane was already tied to the stake, and the moment the twins saw one another, all hell broke loose.
Jane began to scream in pure, unbridaled fury, shouting and hurling insults at every single person in attendance. Alec, on the other hand, closed his eyes and wished that he wouldn’t be able to feel a thing... no physical pain, and more than that, no emotional pain. The crowd, fearing that they would be cursed with the twins in such close proximity to the other, hurried the situation along, and quickly dragged Alec up and tied him next to his sister. Though he was bound tightly, he managed to reach out and hold her hand. He looked once more at Jane, and with tears rolling down his cheek, mouthed the words “I love you.” to his dear and beloved sister, the girl who had done so much for him in their short time on earth.
The fire was lit, and Alec Prayed to any god who would listen that if they had any mercy at all, they would let him feel nothing. Apparently, the gods weren’t feeling very merciful that day, as soon Alec began screaming in pain as the flames began to spread up his legs. They didn’t make it much further, however, because at that exact moment Aro descended upon the villagers with a vengeance. He removed the twins from the stake faster than anyone else could realize, and quickly turned around and laid waste to the villagers of the town... save for one. He left Henry alive, and detained him in the same cell Alec had been in. Then, he returned to the twins. Alec was burnt badly over the entire bottom of his body, and both were crying out in pain. He decided to grant them mercy, and bit both.
Immediately, Alec felt as if his entire body was on fire. Surely he was still in the flames. Three days of agony, and screaming until their voices were no more. Three days of the most terrible pain they had ever felt. Then, it subsided, and Alec opened his eyes. Everything was so clear, and he felt so.... powerful. He was the first to wake, and he had just risen off the ground when his sister woke. Aro was there, and explained what they were, and that now they would be able to pay back all those who had hurt them. And, kindly, he walked them to their father. Upon seeing him, jane once again began to hurl insults, and it was in this moment that Henry dropped to the floor, screaming about being in pain. Aro was delighted with Jane’s gift, but then Alec let loose his ability, wishing that his father would stop and stay still so Alec could hurt him. All three vampires watched in awe as the clear haze drifted between them, engulfing the man, and making him sit quite still. Aro was even more pleased with his selection in the twins, and then he stepped back and watched as the twins leapt toward their father and bit down into his neck until his veins ran dry.
The next century was full of training for the twins. Not only did they train in hand to hand combat, but also to perfect their abilities. Soon, Alec and Jane were two of the most feared guards within the Volturi. They very quickly fell into their new positions: Jane allowed her cruelty and sadism rein free, not taking any issue with hurting anyone who got in her way; and Alec became much more relaxed and seemingly carefree, but his anger had not diminished with the death of his father, and he became calculating, cold, and more than willing to hurt others. They flourished under Aro’s tutelage, and became members of the permanent guard.
In 1353, the Volturi decided to make its move upon the Romanian coven, who were the current “leaders” of the vampire world. They marched into Romania confident in their abilities, and an outright slaughter ensued. With Alec paralyzing half of the romanian coven, and Jane downing the others systematically, the battle was over before it began. Within the hour, the Volturi had become the most powerful coven on the planet, and Mercifully Aro granted reprieve to two of the romanians, so that they could spread the word, and spread the word they did. Within a fortnight, Word had spread of Aro’s “witch twins”, and the Volturi cemented their place as a force to be reckoned with.
After the battle, Alec and Jane were promoted to the position of Guard Leaders, and they took to their position wonderfully. The next four hundred years passed without much incident. Alec remained in the castle with Aro, training as he often did, only called out when the need arose for him to stop a group. He had everything he could possibly want: power, respect, and an eternity with his best friend and sister, Jane.
In the 1800’s however, the vampire wars of the south demanded immediate attention, and The entire guard was assembled for the takedown of any and all immortals in the area. Alec joined the group happily, relishing his opportunity to test his abilities against large covens. The battle was more than even Alec could have hoped for; there was a huge number of vampires that needed destroying, and Alec’s gifts once again came in handy for bringing down multiple enemies very quickly. He had cemented himself as one of the most powerful vampires on the planet, and no longer was he the scared little boy; he had developed into something to be feared for any who dared cross paths with the volturi.
After decimating any and all who had anything to do with the southern vampire wars, Alec went back to Volterra to continue the existence he loved so much. The next century passed in the blink of an eye, save for the occasional mission that he was sent out on. After so much time, however, he began to grow bored of the monotony, and so he was desperately hoping some entertainment would come along; and come along it did in the form of one Edward Cullen. Alec had heard of Carlisle’s coven, and the appearance of one of its most talented members into their fold perturbed the boy a bit. That annoyance turned into intrigue when Edward asked to be killed... over a HUMAN. Alec could not fathom why he would ask such a thing, but the very next day the cause of all the trouble appeared in the form of Bella Swan.
Alec personally didn’t think she was all that special; in fact he couldn’t find one character trait that would make her so appeasing to Edward, other than the fact that she smelled delicious. Apart from that, everything else was supremely mundane. Still, they avoided a fight that day, and Bella manages to weasel her way out with her life thanks to the quick thinking of Alice. They left peacefully, and he assumed that would be the last they saw of either until Aro decided to pay a call to the Cullens to ensure Bella was either turned, or dead.
Bella and his sister would cross paths a few months later, because of Aro sending Jane, Felix, Demitri, and two others to Seattle to stop the vampire army that victoria was creating. Once again, his sister’s ability was thwarted, and upon her return she told Alec of this fact. Though he didn’t want to admit it, Bella was proving to be a problem in life, and he was vaguely wondering whether they shouldn’t find someone to take her out for them.
Less than a year after that interesting event, Irina of the Denali coven appeared, saying that the Cullens had created an immortal child. This was the excuse the entire Volturi and their guard had been waiting for; they would finally be able to take down the Olympic coven who were proving to be more of a nuisance than anything else. Once again, the volturi were made to look like fools thanks to Bella. Though Aro decided to not risk his most talented guard, Alec left hesitantly, fuming at the embarrassment this had caused. He returned to Volterra, vowing to take out Bella swan if it was the last thing he did.
RP Sample:[/u] The darkness that swallowed up the little sleeping town of monterigioni in Italy was nearly all encompassing, its residents tucked safely into bed for the night, lest they run into a person of suspicious character. He chuckled softly to himself, and wondered how he could ever have imagined that paper thin walls and a slab of wood that they called a door would ever keep them protected from the horrors of the outside world.
What an interesting delusion the humans had dreamed up in their own pompous belief in their dominance over every other species. He walked the dark streets silently, his feet not seeming to touch the ground as he walked idly around the cobblestone streets of the city he had loved so much a few centuries before, now a crowning achievement to technological advancement. Gone were the days when he would make his way through the town at night, alive with festivity as the merchants screamed of their wares’ superiority from the openings in their small wooden shops.
Now the only part of the past that had remained was the mortar of the buildings, and the lone creatures walking through the darkness in search of their target. Some vampire- gone insane with the thought of eternity no doubt- had been creating a nice little air of panic within the region; local police had even dubbed this problem “the monster of Monterigioni”. It was sad really, but it happened all too often. Vampires who had been turned would either grow careless, or would go insane from all the life. to most humans it seemed ideal- immortality, and an infinite amount of time to realize all your aspirations, but in all reality, so much life could drive someone insane... to much of a good thing, and all that.
“listen” breathed another member of the guard. Alec stopped and listened hard. Sure enough, something was moving on the opposite end of the building. That small whisper from his comrade was all the outlaw needed, and he heard him start running. The other, lesser member of the guard took off after him, but Alec followed behind at a slower pace- he was far to vital a member of the volturi to waste his time chasing after fugitives like a dog chasing a rabbit. He made his way through the streets, not making a sound despite the incredible speed he was putting on, while still gazing disdainfully at the modern technological advancements. Honestly, he so enjoyed the nineteenth century much more than all this technological advancement. Progress could go to hell.
He was pulled out of his reverie by the sound of a scuffle from the other side of the high walls that had been erected around the town as a means of defense. He leapt onto a low roof, and up to another, yet higher roof, before leaping nimbly over the wall. The drop was a ways down, but he landed and continued his stride without stopping. a small group of guards- his guard- was surrounding a female vampire, who was glaring around at all of them, unsure who to attack first. Sensing another person coming near, she turned her ruby red eyes on him, and her mouth dropped open. A terrible snarl erupted from her chest, and Alec smiled. So she was no coward; that was good, seeing as how those were the most embarrassing to kill. No challenge. He preferred his victims to at least die trying. “stand down.” he said calmly, and without missing a beat, his guard broke the circle, and moved back behind her, to ensure she wouldn’t try and run away.
“You have been causing quite the commotion in this area, you know; and in our backyard. You must really wish for death.” he said calmly, a vague smile on his face. She let out another snarl, still not deigning to respond. “No matter, I will more than happily oblige your request; I left Jane at home, you see, ad she gets upset if I am gone too long.”
“Then let her get upset, the filthy child! I would rip her to shreds!” screeched the woman, and some of the other guard members snarled their disapproval. “be glad it wasn’t she who was put on this mission. I bring you painless death. She would have driven you mad before she destroyed you. I’m doing you a favor.” while he spoke, he let loose his abilities, and that clear, hazy mist began to creep toward her. “goodbye.” he said softly, and she leapt.
She cleared the distance impossibly fast, but she ran smack into his mist halfway in between them, and fell to the ground, completely anesthitized. Alec stared at her as if studying an interesting curio, his head cocked to one side, a mildly puzzled look on his face. “Kill her, will you, then we can leave. Jane must be irritated at my absence.” his guard smiled, and got to work on their task.
Just another day at the office.
