Jacob made his way across the multicolored rocks that covered First Beach. His large, dark, hands were in the pockets of his black cut-off sweats, naturally he wore no shirt. Unnecessary when you ran a temperature of 108.9* on most days. His shoulders were slumped, the expression on his face one of sadness.
His long legs continued to carry him across the beach, his subconscious bringing him to an area of the beach he was very familiar with. A place that would surely cause him emotional pain once his conscious mind realized where he was set to. His brown eyes gazed off into the distance, not focusing on anything in particular.
As he shifted his gaze across the horizon in front of him he took notice of where he was headed; the collection of dried driftwood, one tree set in such a way that it made a perfect seating area. He stopped dead in his tracks, no way he was going to go sit there. He slumped down on the ground where he was now, a large, gray boulder his makeshift chair. Jacob turned his body to face the ocean; gray waves crashing against the shore.
As he daydreamed, not paying attention to any of his surroundings, a few rain drops started to fall. Rain was an inevitable part of the Olympic Peninsula. Sunny days were a rare occurrence. Also another rarity was the free time Jacob was now using.
The werewolf pack he now belonged to was still running around the local woods protecting the La Push residents from any vampires; they still had not caught the redheaded bloodsucker. The supernatural world was hidden from most on the reservation, residents oblivious to the protectors that roamed the forests. It was now Jacob's break in between shifts of protecting.

Elaine had heard about First Beach at La Push and thought that since she had finally gotten a day off at the restaurant. Her life was starting to get better. She was at least talking with people now. She was wearing a pair of black jeans and then she had on a black tank top with a black hoodie over it. She knew she need to go shopping she just had not had time.
"Well what I see so far is great." Elaine said to herself as she was looking out the front window at the water. She was trying to talk herself into getting out of the car. Thinking she was the only one she finally got out of her car and took off she shoes and then role up her pants legs and started to walk along the edge of the water.
Elaine had her Hood over her hair so as to not get it wet as she walked. She was thinking about everything that had happened over the past year. She looked towards the forest and started to walk that way. Elaine wondered what was in there and then looked over and saw someone else there against a rock.
"Hello there." She walked over to him and smiled.

Jacob ignored the approaching footsteps his sensitive ears could hear. His expression sour as he recalled the events that had just taken place the last week or so; what with Bella running off with the future seeing bloodsucker, and then coming back and not even making an attempt to come down and see him, it frustrated and hurt him.
Fact was the rotten, no good, mind reading bloodsucker and the rest of their family had returned, and was here to stay. Jacob knew he, Edward, he thought of his name as an expletive, was keeping her from seeing him. At the thought Jacob's hands began to tremble, he took a deep breath to ease the tremors that would eventually lead to him phasing.
At that moment the person who's footsteps he had heard approach spoke. It was a girl's voice, greeting him. He tried to ease his expression into one of kindness, not wanting to be rude, as he looked up. It didn't quite work, and his smile looked more like a grimace. "Hi," he muttered to the girl.

Elaine walked over to him and sat down next to him. She could tell that he was upset. She wanted to know why though and that meant sitting there taking patience for him. She just had to think of how to approach this.
"So I am not sure how to say this but what the matter." Elaine looked at him and smiled. "Well you see I don't know what your going through. Friends have told me that I am a good listener."
Elaine felt really weird and she put her hands in her head and then smiled. *Man you are such and idiot. I mean you sound like a person that wants to get into everybody's business not one that want to just talk. I bet he will leave at any moment now* Elaine then stood back up and ran her hand through her hair. "I bet you don't want to tell me so I will get going."

Jacob watched the girl approach him, it didn't bother him so much. But then she sat down next to him, his eyebrows rose, and his brown eyes widened in shock. It was unusual that any stranger just walked up to him and questioned his problems, usually they were intimidated by his mere appearance and wouldn't make any effort to acknowledge him.
"Oh, um," Jacob stumbled over his words. Before he could get anything better than that out the girl was up again, looking embarrassed, making assumptions for him. 'Yeah, you're right,' Jacob wanted to say to the girl, but he thought better of it. It would be nice to talk to at least someone. And this girl really didn't know anything about him, and he probably wouldn't see her again. She didn't look familiar so he made his own assumption that she was a tourist.
Jake cleared the shocked expression on his face, turning it into one of kindness, a slight smile expanded across his dark lips. "No, it's okay," he said in his husky voice, "It would be nice to talk to someone that'll listen." He found most of his other friends had comments of their own with his situation, nothing he wanted to hear. Just nonsense of getting over her, and focusing on their job. They made it sound easy, like he was capable of doing so.

Elaine looked at him as she sat back down and pulled the hoodie closed around her. She was going to listen to him and try to help. All she had to do was know what the problem was and then she could help.
"well I am great at listening so I am going to sit there and listen. If you want to know my opinion ask. Then I will give it to you that only if you want it though." She leaned against the rock and sat back up the rock was cold and she was trying to get warm.
Elaine laughed. "Sorry it is a bit cold out here but I willing to listen. I wished that someone had listen to me and made me talk when I need it."

He watched as the girl returned to sitting near him, using a rock as a chair like him. He continued to watch as she pulled her hooded sweater closer to her skin. He wondered if maybe it was cold out here to her, he rolled his eyes up toward the sky. The clouds were dark, surely it would rain soon.
The girl explained her listening qualities, everything she said sounded good. No unwanted comments or opinions. He watched as she flinched away from the rock that she had leaned against. It must be cold, he thought. He didn't want to force the girl to stay in the rain to listen to him, so he had a better idea.
He stood up and faced her, reaching one of his big, warm, russet colored hands to her. "How 'bout we go back to my garage so you don't freeze?" he asked, trying to be courteous. This simple gesture was actually really difficult him; the only other girl he had spent time in his garage with was Bella.

Elaine looked at him when he said that. She then nods her head and smiled. She was glad that he was willing to take them somewhere warm. She then stood up. "Yes that would be great. I mean getting out of this could would be wonderful."
*Elaine what did you get your self into you better be able to get our of this if it get to bad* She looked around trying to find where it might be.
"I thought you might light to know since you have not asked or anything my name is Elaine Rhodes." She did not say anything else since she did not know what she could give away and what not. Elaine then kneels on her feet. "so lead the way please."

Jake helped her up, but quickly put his hand back at his side when she was on her own two feet. He still found it unusual how anyone could find this weather cold, it felt wonderful against his warm skin.
He watched as she looked around, searching for the garage he was talking about. "It's just a little walk, up to my house," he told her, "Not too far." He hoped she wouldn't mind walking, he usually didn't bring his car down to the beach since it was such a short walk for him.
A short, husky laugh escaped his dark lips as she mentioned names. "Yeah, I guess people normally introduce themselves, eh?" he said, slightly embarrassed for not doing so. "I'm Jacob Black," he told her, shoving his left hand in his pants pocket. He pointed with his right hand in the general direction of his house. "It's just over that way," he said as he started to walk back up the beach toward his small, faded red house.

Elaine knew something was up with the way he was walking. He even seemed to keep his hands to himself she was not sure but know not to ask questions. She sees the way he was walking as she jogged to catch up with him.
"oh I don't mind walking. All I wanted to know was if I need to move my car and if so where to." She pointed to her black Porsche. She did not mind walking at all. Elaine to tell the turth loved to walk. She would do it everyday if she lived close enought to the school. That was the one reason Jason had bought her the car to begin with was Elaine was walking to the school to get there early and not to mess with him.
"Oh it is fine if your forgot to introduce yourself. It is normally but I forgot to do it to so we are even. It nice to meet you thought Jacob. " Elaine loved to be nice to people she just was glad she was atleast talking to people of this would have been really weird.

Jake stopped dead in his tracks as he took in the car she had pointed to. It was stunning, amazing. Jacob was a major car enthusiast, and all thoughts were consumed by the car before him. "No way. That's your car?" he questioned dubiously. He unthinkingly walked toward it, forgetting all about his original destination and the girl beside him.
As he approached the car he reached a single hand out to stroke the car in wonder. "Wow," he whispered, admiration the clear expression on his face. It was then that he remembered the owner of the car. He quickly cleared his throat and turned back to her. "It's amazing," he commented. "I guess since you have your car though, you should probably drive it up to my house."
He turned back to the car, staring at it. "Oh," he stuttered after her, "It's nice to meet you too." He didn't meet her eyes as he said this, his attention was still mostly on her car. His right hand still stroking longingly against the black frame.

Elaine got a kick out of that and started to laugh hard. "It okay you not the first guy that looks like a littl kid in the candy shop." She was walking over there towards him. Elaine knew how she was going to get him to work with her. Once there she looked at him.
"Yes this is my car my ex bought it for me and I could not talk myself into getting rid of it. So since you know where we are going right." She dug in her pocket and took out the keys. She knew this would make him.
*If I do this maybe he will turst me more and be willing to tell me what he wants and know that I turst him and won't tell anyone what he tells me* Elaine then walked over dropped the keys in his hand and walked around to the passenger side and went to open the door to get in. "I am going to turst you and let you drive. I mean you look like you know a great bit about cars and really want to do this so I will not distory your hopes. Drive my care to your house and then we can talk." Elaine knew that Jacob would want to drive it after the way she was looking at it and rubbing his hand over it. She trusted him so that made it better.

Jacob's eyes widened, and a dumbfounded expression crossed his face as Elaine put the keys to the Porsche in his hands. He shook his head a couple times to clear the shock. He didn't question her decision though, he wanted to drive the car too much.
He followed her lead and opened the driver's side door in one swift movement. "Thanks," he told her as he squeezed his tall frame into the sports car. In this cramped position his knees were at his chest. He quickly reached for the lever that would move the seat back, and gently pulled it, giving him more leg room. He stuck the key in the ignition, turning it to start the car.
The purr of the engine made Jacob want to melt. It was a wonderful sound, he closed his eyes to enjoy it even more. A brief second later he opened them and turned to look at the girl that generously was trusting him with the expensive vehicle. "This car is really something," he commented.
He shifted the car into reverse, then headed to his house. It was barely a five minute drive there, and he parked the car in front. He glanced at the front of his small house, half expecting Billy to peer out the front window. But then he remembered that Billy was at the Clearwater's. He spent a lot of his time there with Sue since Harry's passing.
Jacob turned to Elaine, handing her the keys. "Thanks again," he muttered to her as he opened his door and stepped out. He wasn't surprised to find that the rain had now picked up. "Just this way," he told her quickly. He took long strides as he led her on the path to the garage on the side of the house, to get her out of the rain.

She smiled as she got out of the car and then followed right behind him to up the path to the Garage where they were going to do there talking. She knew he would open up for her most likely. If not she at least made him happy when he seemed upset. She was having to jog however to catch up with the boy.
"Your welcome for the right just give me a holler if you ever want to do it again. I mean I don't know many other people that see this car as a beauty. The people at school think I am rich when really I and just a rich at them." She knew it was great to have someone else to talk to and another place to go to get away she had heard of this place but it was the first time here.
"So I guess you realized that I am a local from the car. I mean I been here for about a year now but all I ever do is school, work, homework, and sleep so if you every want to talk outside of this day or just to drive this lovely vehicle just give me hold your phone and I will call it now." Elaine then went to stuffing keys back in pockets.

Jacob continued his stride into the large, makeshift garage. It wasn't really much, just two plastic paneled garages you bought from the store, bolted together with one wall knocked out. Since the last time Jacob was in here, little had changed. The Rabbit, Jacob's rebuilt car, was no longer in here, it now sat in the driveway finished. The two motorcycles that he and Bella had fixed were the only things among many of tools and other odds and ends.
"Sorry, it's not much," he murmured as he walked to the back of the garage to lean his tall frame against a wooden tool table. He watched the girl follow him, surprised that she was being so open with him. "Hm, didn't think you were a local," Jacob commented. "And I don't think you're going to be the only person at school with a flashy car now," he said sourly.
The talk of flashy cars reminded him of the Cullen's. He had only ever seen two of them; Edward's silver Volvo S60R and Carlisle's Mercedes S55 AMG. Neither of which were the usual vehicle you saw driving around Forks. He could only imagine what the other bloodsucker's cars looked like.
