So my cousin and I had this brilliant idea to make cookies. Gingerbread man shaped sugar cookies. We intended to only make like 12 cookies max. Ha! Haha. Ha. I don't know what I was thinking when I bought 3 packages of sugar cookie mix....
So we ended up with like, no joke, 30 cookies, maybe more. I haven't counted. And that wasn't even the worst part. The cooking spirits were out to get us and everything was going wrong.
First, the dough wouldn't form. Lol. Second, we went to roll out the dough and forgot to put flour on the table. Third, we couldn't put the cookies close together or they would touch each other, so we could only put 4 max on a baking sheet. We had a line of cookies on pans waiting to be baked. Fourth, when we tried to make the icing we failed 2 times. First time the icing was WAY to sugary, it tasted like powder and milk. Lol. It was foul. Second time, the bowl of powdered sugar mysteriously found itself on the kitchen floor. Then when we tried to make colors, a lot of the icing was really watery. So when we went to decorate the colors would run into each other. Oh, and then I don't know why we bought chocolate chips, but we did, and when I tried to melt them that became a disaster.
But overall it was fun, and I haven't laughed so hard in my life. In the end I was getting so frustrated I was sacrificing cookies and destroying them. Lol. We first went to the store at 6:30pm and didn't get finished until 1:00am. It was ridiculous. But anyway, enjoy the pictures.
Pictures of the disaster. Seriously. I've never seen my kitchen this messy...ever. And I had powdered sugar and flour ALL over me, and I was wearing a black t-shirt.
The assembly line, cookies waiting to go into the oven.
Halfway through baking that's how many cookies we had.
Shoving as many pans as we could into the oven. Lol.
The lovely kitchen table.
One of the kitchen counters.
The mysteriously fallen bowl of powdered sugar.
