(OOC: Set early breaking dawn - open for all)
Jayden stood in the woods on the edge of campus and watched the students as they milled around in the early morning mist that was a constant her in Forks. She was curious as to what school would be like. Eager for the new experience that school held. She had life and world experience. As well as the book smarts her father had taught her, but nothing could replace the actual experience of attending high school. She'd seen enough movies to know it looked like fun, at least.
Jayden had not mentioned this desire to any of the Cullen’s on her visits to their home. In truth been stood in the tree line watching was not a decision she had made consciously at all. She had spent the past few weeks thinking of this new life that lay ahead of her and all the things she could do with it. Then this morning as the same thoughts passed through her head, she found herself moving closer and closer to the school campus. Jayden had stood in the tree line and watched the first cars arrive. She had watched as the familiar cars arrived at the school, the ones she recognized from her visits to the Cullen’s’ home.
The first bell rang, it was then the idea worked its way to the front of Jayden’s mind. She could observe the school for the day, from the inside. Before she had a second to process it, Jayden found herself walking up the main stairs of the building. Once inside the building the scent of the humans was consuming, she could not imagine how it must be for those who thirsted for that blood. Now inside her plan was quickly falling apart. There were no signs to the office, no teachers to ask and all the students were busy in their lockers. She was suddenly afraid that the Cullen family would be mad for this intrusion. Quickly Jayden glanced towards the doors she had just entered; she could leave – she knew that. However, a part of her knew this was the first step on that new life.
Once again she looked up and down the corridor and tried her best to look like she needed help. She had the lost look down perfectly as she stood there with no book bag and no coat. Her hair still wet for the mist fell in her eyes as she looked down at the floor and waited for help.

Angela closed her locker after gathering her books for the morning. She had just started down the hallway when she saw a young woman standing in the middle of the hallway. The way that she looked around her with that unfamiliar look made Angela sure that the girl was lost, and probably also new to the school since Angela didn't remember seeing her around before. She looked around and also didn't see any teachers who looked like they were around and possibly leading the girl somewhere, so Angela decided she would try to lend a helping hand to the newcomer.
She walked over to the girl with a smile on her face. "Hi, I'm Angela. Do you need help finding something?" She asked in a friendly way, not wanting to point out that it seemed like the girl was unsure of her surroundings.

Jayden looked up at the face of the girl with the friendly voice. She felt herself smile involuntarily and she hoped it was friendly smile. Jayden knew once she spoke to this girl that there was no going back from this whole school thing; for today at least. Jayden took a deep breath and caught the scent of the girl, an unfortunate but luckily not tempting action.
“Oh thank you very much.” She replied calmly, “I think I should be looking for the office. And I’m Jayden.”
Jayden glanced up and down the corridor again still searching for a way out and hoping not to be seen here by any of the Cullen family until she had had a chance to explain.

Angela was glad to see that the other girl didn't seem put off by her offer to help. Some people seemed almost insulted if anyone else indicated that they might need help from another person. But the girl didn't seem to take offense to her offer.
"Its nice to meet you Jayden" She said, thinking that was a very pretty name. "And the office can be a little tricky to find, its not as big as you'd expect, so its easy to overlook" She said, trying to make her feel better for not being able to find it.
"Is this your first day here?" She asked, hoping she didn't seem too nosey.

Jayden’s eyes and ears took in everything as she began to follow Angel down the corridor. The school seemed so vast to her, so new and fascinating. The art work on the walls and the posters declaring the team name in school colors; it was all a little over whelming for Jayden. She remembered her manners and turned to Angela when she spoke, “It is very nice to meet you too, Angela. And thank you once again for your help.”
Other students continued to whiz around her as they walked and her eyes followed each for a second before getting caught up with the next. She wondered where everyone was going and to do what. Again her attention was drawn back to Angel with her question about first day. Jayden nodded; “Yes, my first day of school. I’m hoping to observe today before I enroll hopefully later this week.”
There was no lie in her answer, just a huge question of she would accomplish that. She remembered Edward’s offer of help, but with every step she took she could feel that offer dwindling. She hoped to go and talk to him and his family later that night and explain her unbridled need to join school that day, but for now she would concentrate on the day and the girl.
“Have you been here long?” She asked Angela, “I’m so new to Forks and all of this.” She said casting her hand a little in front of herself.

"Oh you're welcome, I'm glad to help" Angela told her sincerely. She never minded helping out new students. She had been lucky enough to have never had to move from school to school as she had grown up in Forks, but she could imagine how hard it would be to start over your life in a new place. Hopefully a little help could make it easier.
"That's great, I hope you do decide to enroll, its a good school, for the most part" She told her. Forks High wasn't the greatest, but it could be worse.
She nodded as Jayden asked her about herself. "Yeah, I've been here my whole life. My parents are from Forks too. It can be a little boring at times, but at least we're not too far from Port Angeles and Seattle" She told her.

She slipped her hands into her packets as they walked, she didn’t know what else to do with them. Her eyes flitted from Angela to the activity around her as she listened to the girl’s answers. Jayden couldn’t imagine staying in the same place her whole life. She could barely remember every place she had travel, let alone the place she was born and the consequent places her father took her too. They were always moving experiences he called them, but she knew he was running; from the pain and from the Volturi should they ever come looking for her.
She looked back at Angel as she spoke of enrolling. Jayden knew that was a commitment, but what else was she expecting when she waltzed in her? She knew this wasn’t a drop in kind of place. She knew she should have though about all this. And she knew she should have spoken to the Cullens. All these things she pushed out of her mind as she readied to speak to her guide.
“My father and I travel a lot.” She found herself speaking the words before she thought. Her mind and now her mouth seemed to be running away with her today. Quickly she changed the subject. “Forks seems lovely, from what I have seen. And I have not visited Port Angeles or Seattle yet.” She smiled turning the conversation back to a more neutral subject and away from her own history.

Angela tried to think about what it must be like for Jayden right now. First Forks was an adjustment from most other places. She had always heard that it was practically desolate compared to the big cities. Then there was starting school at a new school so close to graduation! She knew that probably had to be the most difficult of all. Most of the students wouldnt be interested in making new friends now with their high school careers almost over. The cliques had already been formed and most people were just riding out their senior year counting down the days until they either left for college or entered the real world of jobs. Angela would do her best to try to at least be one friendly face around the school for the new girl. Doing that was how she met Bella last year and she now considered her one of her closest friends.
She smiled as she heard Jayden tell her that her father and her moved around a lot. When she quickly changed the subject, Angela decided not to pry and ask too much about where she used to live or why they traveled a lot. It wasn't her place. "I like it here. And Port Angeles and Seattle are nice, you should try to visit some weekend, there's much more to do there if you get bored, shopping and movie theaters, concerts and art galleries...pretty much everything"

Even in the brief silence, when Jayden assumed Angela was lost in though, she could sense that this girl was truly friendly; everything about her gentle and welcoming. Jayden wasn’t naive enough to believe all of them would be like this.
Jayden listened to her talk about all the thinks that Port Angeles and Seattle had to offer. A movie, Jayden had never been to an actual movie theater. She had visited many galleries all over the world; part of her father’s educating techniques. As for a concert, Jayden doubted she could even name a modern musician let along attend a concert.
In a split second Jayden imagined herself at a concert or a movie and suddenly felt very out of place and alien in her imagination and here. Quickly she erased the image from her mind and pushed away the out of place feeling
She smiled and nodded to Angela. “I think I am more of a stay at home kind of girl, now. A book and a little music.” She said honestly, “Though perhaps I might visit.” She didn’t want to block at the idea altogether. It seemed like this girl like the place she spoke about and she didn’t want to knock that.
She glanced up and down the corridor quickly turning slightly to take in the sight and the scents. Jayden was still a little uncomfortable and weary.
“What does the town of Forks and Forks high school have to offer?” She asked lightly to set herself more at ease.

Angela smiled as she heard Jayden say that she was more of a stay at home listening to music or reading a book type girl. Angela definitely appreciated her quiet side, as she was obviously not someone who went out all the time and partied. Jessica might find her boring, but Angela found Jayden very nice and sweet so far.
"I know how you feel, a lot of times I just prefer the quiet night in too" She said understanding. "But at least we're not too far from options for things to do if you get a little stir crazy" It didnt take most new people too long to want to get out of Forks. The Cullens had quickly found nearby places that they could go camping with their family, and even Bella seemed to frequent LaPush.
"Well, Forks itself doesn't have a whole lot to be honest. We've got a diner, a cofee shop, a church, and few small locally owned shops...and lots of outdoors activities" Angela said, a little disappointed in herself for not being able to think of anything more exciting to tell her about her hometown. "But the school offers a bit more. We've got lots of clubs and activities, from sports to the newspaper or music, pretty much the usual group of afterschool clubs. And most of the teachers here are pretty nice"

Smiling politely as the girl continued to speak Jayden took in her words and honestly started to believe she could do this. Attend school, mix with humans, experience things; have a somewhat human life. Jayden found herself smiling at the very idea that this could all happen.
Turning the corner of the hallway Jayden saw a sign ahead that read ‘office’. She suddenly felt a loss that this kind girl may leave her here and there would be no more normal talk. This was her first real interaction with a human, let alone one her own age even if that was only her appeared age.
“Perhaps we will have classes together.” She smiled at the girl. “Are there any teachers or students that it should…be aware of?” She asked again with a smile. She knew school could have its bullies and its tough teachers, but in truth she wasn’t scared she was more curious.

As they turned the corner and ended up in front of the office, Angela thought she saw a little bit of nervousness cross the face of the new girl she was walking with. She understood what she was feeling, even if she hadn’t been new here, she still had felt a bit like she didn’t fit in at times, not being the most popular of people mostly due to her shyness.
“Yeah, that would be nice” Angela said with a smile as Jayden suggested they might have some classes together. “If you want I can wait while you get your schedule for observation…I can show you where the first class is” She offered, not wanting to push herself on the new girl, but also not wanting her to feel lost again when she left the office.
“Most of the teachers are pretty nice, the math teacher you just have to make sure you’re on time for her class and don’t try passing notes or anything, and for gym Coach Clapp is pretty easy going as long as you look like you’re trying, even if you’re not any good.” She said trying to think of a few pointers for the teachers that could help her out. “Most of the students are pretty nice, I can introduce you to some later if you want” Angela knew that if Jayden had spoken to Jessica first, she would have immediately warned her about the Cullens and how weird they were, even when it was now only Edward and Alice that were still attending school as the others had graduated.

Jayden could feel the nervous feeling creeping through her body and taking a tight hold, this suddenly didn’t feel like such a good idea. Glancing up at the sign, then to the door and finally up and down the corridor Jayden wondered if she could just leave. Perhaps if it wasn’t for the human who had escorted her there so kindly she would have left, but Jayden had manners. “Thank you for showing me to the office.” Jayden said to the girl, “The school seems like a labyrinth.” A slight smile reach at the corners of her mouth, but Jayden’s stomach was churning.
The slight smile at the corner’s of Jayden’s mouth spread across her face as Angela offered to wait for her while she acquired a schedule. “That would be very nice of you, I would very much appreciate it.” As Jayden accept the girl’s offer of staying she realized she had no idea how she was going to get a schedule, she was sure it was something that required a parent or at least a parent’s permission; Jayden knew she had neither. Stood outside the office looking back at the glass door Jayden realized she should have spoken to Carlisle, or at least Edward, for their opinion and help on what she was doing.
As Angela reassured her about teachers Jayden looked away form the door and back at her escort; a friend? It was a strange idea to the hybrid, the idea of someone who may become a friend, let alone a human friend. She smiled “I will try to be on time for Math, thank you. As for Gym, I’m sure I’ll enjoy it.” She nodded, the only gym or physical pursuits Jayden had were vampire in nature – hunting, running, jumping – it was funny to think of playing an actual game in a class. “And it would be lovely to meet some of the students, I think…” Jayden was about to offer that she knew some students, but thought better of it, “I think it would be nice to meet people.” She covered and smiled.

“You’re welcome, my pleasure!” Angela said with a warm smile of sincerity as Jayden thanked her for showing her to the office. She was glad to help out whenever she could. This was a simple enough thing, a gesture of kindness and a way to help out a new student. She had met one of her closest friends, Bella, by trying to be nice to the new girl. She’d never regret helping someone out. “It can seem intimidating at first, but I’m sure it wont take you long at all to get your bearings in here.” Angela said confidently.
Angela smiled again as Jayden accepted her offer to wait with her while she got her schedule. It reassured her that she wasn’t just being bothersome to the new girl, but that she didn’t mind Angela’s company. If she had wanted to get rid of her, she would have suggested she leave but she accepted her company. “Great, I’ll wait right out here” She said, not wanting to hover by following her inside the office.
“Even if you’re late to Math the first few times I’m sure you can use the new in town excuse to get you out of any really long lectures” She explained. She smiled as she listened to the other girl seem optimistic about both gym and meeting new people. “It will be nice for you to meet people. You’ll fit in, no problem, we’re not too overly cliquey here”

The truth of the matter was that while already having her bearings of the town and school, a vampire trait for direction, Jayden was immensely intimidated by everything else. The young hybrid was finding herself intimidated by both species that made her up. She was worried of the Cullen family’s reaction on they discovered her at the school. And then Jayden had the fear of the humans discovering her secret and true nature, she may not want to eat them but she wasn’t sure they’d see it like that. “I’m very good with directions, its more people that are my down fall.” Jayden said with a guilty smile, ashamed to admit she hadn’t had much practice.
A school office, a schedule, someone waiting for her; Jayden actually felt a little comfortable or would if she wasn’t constantly looking over her shoulder or sniffing the air for other of her kind. “Thank you. I’ll try to be as quick as I can.” Jayden said reaching for the door and pausing with her hand on the handle as she listened to Angela.
Fitting in, that was going to be a challenge. Where would she fit in? With who and which species? Jayden knew it wasn’t a thing she should worry about; she was there to be human just as she knew the Cullens were at school. And fitting in was something you did if you stayed, Jayden wasn’t sure she was staying yet either. Her day at school was an observation, not a trial run; wasn’t it? Jayden nodded at Angela and headed into the office.
It took a few minutes of smiling and fast talking to convince the receptionist that she just wanted to observe not enroll. Jayden even agreed to return in the next few days with her family to enroll.
With a schedule in hand and nerves still buzzing in her stomach Jayden headed back out in to the hall to meet with Angela. Slowly pushing open the door, Jayden glanced quickly up and down the corridor looking for any sign of any Cullen who might be there. When her gaze came back to Angela she smiled slightly, “Looks like I am all ready for my first day at school.” She said looking down at the paper in her hand. “Do you know the Cullens?” Jayden asked without looking at the human girl, maybe if she girl did then Jayden could avoid seeing them or sharing classes.
