Carlisle nodded once, understanding the girl’s impatience. She was probably itching to hunt, the bloodlust in her eyes was massive, but he couldn’t help but want to offer her another way of life before she committed to it. If she was a newborn, which had more or less been established, then she wouldn’t be party to all the ridiculous prejudice that other ‘normal’ vampires had against their way of life. Perhaps she was young enough to influence? He owed it to her soul to try. He didn’t know what came after a vampire died, but he didn’t want to take chances with anybody’s soul, whether his own or his family’s or a stranger’s. She needed the option, at least.
“It’s not easy, at all,” he warned her, first of all and then proceeded to summarise their exchange to that point. “But if you wanted to avoid bloodshed of humans, then it is possible to feed off large game. It doesn’t smell or taste even a fraction as appetising as a human, but it sustains us. It stops us from being monsters. That's how we live and if you're going to be remaining in Forks for the time being, we would be happy to aid you.”
He paused, allowing her to digest the information.
“The choice is yours.”
