Stepping out of her last class of the day, Rosalie saw that it was a little bit brighter outside than it had been when she had entered Building Four. She glanced up at the sky, seeing the clouds still in place, though there were a slightly lighter shade of gray. Less rain today, but more brightness than usual. Though she knew the sun would not make a cameo in their day (Alice would have forewarned them), it didn't sure to be extra safe in case of a stray ray that might poke through. She slyly patted the cream white beanie Alice had bought her and ruffled some of the long waves of blond hair towards the sides of her face. She slowly made her way towards the parking lot, knowing it would be another 10 to 15 minutes before Alice got out of class since her own teacher had let them out early.
Edward, Jasper and Emmett had headed towards Goat Rocks while the rest stayed behind, hunting closer to their territory this time around. Alice and Rose had taken her red convertible BMW to school for a change, invoking the admiring stares of the teenage male population. She had spotted her red beauty when her peripheral vision was called upon by something black and shiny. Glancing over, she stopped dead in her stroll. The Volvo was usually the most outstanding car in the lot, with the exception of her own car when the Volvo was unavailable. But she had never seen this car before. A new student? With a Porsche? Without even realizing it, Rose's body had turned itself to face the black machine. Glancing towards the school she didn't see anyone else dismissing their class. While she loved her own car, she was still able to appreciate looking at another piece of beautiful engineering, right?
Rosalie gracefully floated towards the Boxter S convertible and took in her perfect reflection on the shiny hood as she started a slow, appraising look around the car with an impish grin on her face.

Elaine had got dismissed out of school and was walking back to her car with her backpack over one of her arms. She was tried and ready get home so that she could get ready for work. Elaine was almost at her car when she saw this girl standing there that was just as pale if not more. *Okay well this is strange I wonder what going on and what she doing there. It is the fact that she not seen a car like this every.*
Elaine opened up the driver side door and threw her bag into it before going to the front of the car and looking at her. As she did it Elaine ran her hand over the front of it. "Hello may I help you Mame. I mean You look rather fascinated with my car." Elaine then laughed. "Sorry I meant can I help you with something. Anything about this you want to know." Elaine looked cars and working on them. The problem was she did not have money to by collector cars and she did not make that much where she worked.
"If not I need to get going so that I can make it to work in about 3 hours." Elaine was going to head on and take a name before she went to work.

Rosalie noticed when a girl had separated from the rest of the group exiting from the nearest building, but paid her no mind. Her mind was enjoying every feature of this particular model as she matched them with her memory. She only looked up when the girl finally spoke, asking her if she wanted to know anything about the car. Was she kidding? There was nothing this child could tell her that she didn't already know. In fact, Rosalie was more than capable of teaching her a thing or two or fifty, but she instead shook her head slightly. "You have a great car here," she said, "Boxter S, right? 295 horsepower?" She asked the girl only for her benefit, Rose knew what she was talking about, but didn't want to upset the girl before she finished inspecting the car.

Elaine looked at her and nods. "Yes it is so I see you know a thing or two about cars." Elaine was glad that someone was actually there that could talk to her about the car. She was thinking about what to say when she thought about the weather.
"So I was wonder does it always rain her. I don't understand why to have convertible if you can't let it down right." She leaned against her car wondering why in the world her dad had to live in a town that rained all the time. She liked having the hood down.

"Yea, I know a couple of things here and there,' she allowed evenly. There was no point in telling her how much she really knew. It was one thing for a girl to know stuff about luxury cars, it was another to let them know how much she actually knew. It was unusual and they needed to be discreet.
"I have a convertible too," she told her, glancing towards her red BMV. "It's too bad about the weather, but I'd rather maintain the interior intact. The top is down whenever it's not raining, though." At this point, Rose had reached the back of the car, admiring the double exhaust. She sighed happily to herself, imagining the acceleration it had with just that feature.

Elaine smiled and looked at her. "So who are you waiting for. I mean if you really want to we can take the top down and go for a short ride. My name is Elaine Rhodes. I am new to the town."
She walked over to the car and started to take it down the top so that her leather sits were exposed to the light. "I mean I have work in 3 hours so I have some time. If you want to. If not maybe some other time."
Elaine could tell that this girl loved her car and she knew she loved to show her car off and it helped that this girl was so into it.

Rosalie gave the younger girl a quick look before returning her gaze back to the car. It was unusual for any of them to carry on a legitimate conversation with any of the humans. What was less common was that one of them being able to be in such a proximity to one of them. Apart from the Cullens' tendency to keep to themselves, the humans mostly stood away from them as a natural defense. It was a natural reaction that they weren't even aware of.
But Rose had a better idea. "Actually," she started, tuning her melodic voice to a persuasive murmur, "I was wondering if you could pop the hood. I'd love to see the engine."

Elaine looked at Rosalie and then smiled. "well okay I guess I could let you look at it. I doubt that it very fancy though. My boyfriend put a new one in before he died." Elaine then walked over and sat down in the car and pulled the lever to pop the hood. She then got out again and walked over to the hood and pulled it up and held it up.
"okay so is there anything special about it. If not okay if so what. I have not really learned engines for cars. Jason said I did not have to he would do it all." She felt something strange about the girl but she was not sure what. Elaine looked at her again and then smiled. *I know she looks like Jason*

Rose grinned triumphantly when the girl immediately agreed, though she was doubly intrigued when she said that her boyfriend had replaced the engine entirely. Why would someone do that? Sure you did tune ups and modifications, but the engine itself was a masterpiece. It was models like this one that had triggered Rose's growing interest in the first place.
"I'm sorry to hear about your boyfriend," she said sincerely, peeking under the hood. "It's obvious he was a talented mechanic. And he was right," she added taking a superficial glance at the setup, "you won't be having trouble any time soon. Maybe a tune up and the regular oil change, but nothing too drastic."

Elaine smiled. "that he was that he was. I would not own a cry if it was not for the fact that he was rich and knew how to fix a car." She looked at the girl and was wondering what it was.
"So what type of engine is it. I mean he bought it from the company. He always had a dream of us running away after I turned 18. That did not happen so it makes me stuck here in this small town with a Porsche that none of the local mechanic's know anything about."
Elaine then leaned on the edge of the car letting this new girl that she suddenly meet look all over her car. Elaine knew some about cars but she was not afraid to admit that this girl knew a whole lot more then her. "My dad changed the oil when I get here and no one around her knows how to tune it so it not had that since Jason rebuilt the engine."

When the girl prompted her, Rosalie allowed curiosity bring her closer. Her loose, golden tresses almost brushed the engine when she leaned in, taking in all the details and commiting it to memory. The girls deceased boyfriend, Jason, and Rosalie might have actually gotten along. For such a young human, he had an excellent grasp of mechanical engineering. "Well," she said softly, trying to mask her infinite knowledge with a light and nonchalant tone in her musical voice, "he was smart enough to keep the engine displacement the same. It's a tight fit in here and anything bigger than 3.4 liters would decrease results."
For a second, Rosalie almost blurted out that she'd love to offer her some of her services, but she knew it was a bad idea. This was as close as she would allow herself to interact with a human. This, actually, was uncommon for Rosalie. Being quite elitist in both her human and vampire lives, she didn't mingle much with those outside her interest. "I'm sure someone in Seattle might be able to do something," she suggested lightly, hoping that her momentary slip in her facade wouldn't give her away too much.

Elaine looked at her and then nods as she walked to the car. "Okay I will go there later and talk to them. I just hope that you are right. " She wanted to know this girl more. When she made the remark she hoped that the girl would have been willing to work on it.
"Ya he was going to head to college and follow his dreams and become a person that raced and worked on cars. He won't be doing that anytime soon." She was wanting to know more about this girl but she was not doing so good at it. She smiled. *I will become her friend before it is over.*

While the car definitely held her interest, she was glad Elaine had taken the bait and would go to Seattle instead. If anything, she could always sneak a peek when the girl and her father were asleep and no one would ever know. "Yea I'm sure there are a few mechanics just off the highway," she insisted.
Rose let her talk about her deceased mechanic, hearing the adoration in her voice. She obviously missed him; she had kept his car. It was an everyday reminder of who he was, his talent. Sympathy crept over Rose as her eyes finished scanning the innovative machine before her. "I'm sure he would have made an excellent driver," she told her, finally looking back up to Elaine's face. Rose's perfect features were gathered in sympathy and confidence in her assessment. "He had exceptional knowledge that would have given him an advantage." She wondered how much this girl knew about cars, it didn't seem like much. Hopefully, Elaine understood Rosalie's words enough to supplement the attributes she already knew about Jason. "So, where did you move from?" [/color]

Elaine nods when the girl talked about there being Mechanic's down the road. She had wanted it where the girl had offered to fix it when it needed it. "Oh okay I bet your right. I just have to drive it up there and they will fix it. You happen to have any numbers for them. I am knew."
Elaine looked at the engine as she thought about Jason. This was the first time since he did that she had Truly talked about him. "well I know he would have. He already had people wanting him." She heard the girl ask her where she was from but did not say something at first. After about 1 minute it finally hit Elaine that this girl was talking to her. She did not even know here name. "Oh That I am from the great Lone Star State of Texas. The name is Elaine Rhodes too. What is your name if you don't mind me asking."

"Oh I'm sorry," she said to the girl. "I'm Rosalie Hale." She made a point to turn to the car again and not look at her, in case the girl tried to shake her hand. She wasn't carrying her gloves with her and most humans did not react well to the temperature of their skin. "I haven't been to Seattle in a while, I wouldn't know where to tell you to go. I just remember there being a few places once you hit town."
