At this point, Rosalie figured that the only way to get through his evening without getting too many people upset was to say as little as possible. It was a difficult task for her, who had no reason to hold anything back. She was always honest with her family, but apparently her honesty offended them. Not only was this an entirely bad idea, but now the human girl was creating tension between her and her family members. All the more reason to dislike her. Rosalie made it as far as the far opposite end of the counter from which Carlisle and Esme were busy at work. She couldn't quite remember the last time she cooked, but remembered doing it often as a teen. Women were expected to help out in the house in her time, and it had been important to know such things before she became of age.
The thought of Emmett being a culinary genius made Rosalie's eyes roll sarcastically, but the sheer humor and the soft touch he'd given her for the smallest moment, left the tiniest smirk on her face. She continued staying silent, and still keeping her distance. Letting her hearing seek out the sounds surrounding their home, she listened for any sign of Edward's arrival.
