(OOC: I know you guys may have worked out another way in which the Chez Cullen thread takes place, but in the book she wakes up with him in the morning and he takes her to her place after breakfast. I don't mind if this doesn't lead to the Chez Cullen thread, but I quite like the wee exchange they have that morning, so here is its beginning. ) (Mid-Twilight) Throughout the entire night Bella muttered and spoke to herself, displaying her usual level of restlessness is sleep. However, whereas in the past it had been filled with grumblings about the weather, the colours, or confusion over Edward’s hot and cold manners towards her, that night she was altogether more happy. That night she had professed her love in her sleep, saying the words for the first time in a moment that no one could possibly doubt their sincerity.
The day before, in the meadow, had blown Bella’s mind, opening her up to a whole new world. It was a world that she knew she ought to be afraid of, one that she should flee from at a mere glimpse, but she was absolutely thrilled. And seeing Edward like that, in such a glorious ray of sunshine, which reflected from every facet of his miracle skin. She had never been more in awe of his magnificent physique than at that moment. He was her Adonis. And the great thing was that he wanted to be it too. In fact, the whole day was so perfect that when Bella awoke, feeling the birds nest of hair on her head and the familiar grotty feeling of morning breath, she felt sure that the whole thing must have been a glorious dream. She groaned a little and shifted an arm over her eyes, trying to bring back the images of Edward sparkling under her fingertips.

Edward had been watching Bella sleep all that night. He had been worried about what her thoughts would be of after the meadow. It had been a beautiful day together, but what if when it all settled in for her it became too much. Since he couldn't hear her thoughts her mumbles in her sleep sometimes became the only way he got a glimpse into her mind. That night he was afraid of hearing about fearing a monster that sparkled. But instead of the expected fear in her voice, her unconscious mind had told him that she loved him. It had been unexpected, but completely mimiced his own feelings. If he could dream, he'd be saying the same thing aloud.
Edward sat in the rocking chair in her room. Not needing to sit but thinking if she awoke he would appear all the more strange and creepy to her standing over her bed. He watched her slowly stirring in her bed, small changes in breathing and the slow movements indicating she was waking up.
"Your hair looks like a haystack...but I like it" Edward told her with a grin, thinking it adorable the way she looked in the morning. Usually he had to leave before she woke up. He found himself very much enjoying being here to see her first thing in the morning.

Hoping that more sleep would come her way and fill in the lovely images she had of Edward flitting around behind her eyes, Bella fought rising consciousness with all her will. Unfortunately, however, the insidious fingers of light refused to leave her room untouched and her brown eyes swept open. The moment they did was the moment that Edward’s gloriously velvet voice penetrated her hearing and she sat up with an audible “Oh!”
At that same moment everything from the night before came flooding back to her and an excited smile graced her features. Without any single thought to her safety or Edward’s comfort, she threw herself across the room, somehow saving herself from the tangle of bed sheets and propelled herself into Edward’s lap, her arms entwining around him in a tight hug. Her large eyes drank in his every detail in an instant and she realised just how poor her imagination was at redrawing him when he wasn’t there. He was beyond anything any human imagination could create, she assumed, worshipfully. If only he could be there always. “Edward! You stayed!”
She grinned into her hug, inhaling to take in his indescribable scent before remembering how difficult this must be for him. The sheer delight on her face stuttered for a moment as she pulled back a little, increasing the distance between them. She froze, pulling her bottom lip in between her teeth as a slow blush began to steal over her pale features. “Sorry,” she half whispered, afraid that she had crossed one of the vampire’s sensible boundaries, though she couldn’t stop her anatomical responses, and her heart was still beating nineteen to the dozen in joy of Edward’s early morning presence.

Edward smiled seeing Bella’s excitement at his mere presence. The fact that he could bring such joy to her, felt like it may marginally help counter the amount of danger he put her in just by being here. He knew it wasn’t much, but it was something to ease his selfish conscience at the moment. He laughed as she launched herself across the bed at him, half having expected her to fall or get tangled up in the blankets that had been around her but instead she was soon in his arms. “Of course I stayed” He said with a smile, enjoying the brief moment of her in his arms, though the close proximity he had to her blood flow didn’t escape him either.
He watched her pull back slightly, seeing from the look on her face that she realized how difficult this must be for him as she apologized. He hated that she had to think of those things at all. If she was dating Mike Newton she’d be able to stay in his arms without a care in the world. But he was glad it was his arms and not Newton’s that she was in now.
“It’s alright” he said attempting to reassure her by gently rubbing her back. The truth was as powerful as the thirst was, his desire to keep her in his arms was even stronger. He didn’t want to let go. “Its good practice for me if I’m going to be around you”

A wide, contented smile graced Bella’s pale, sleepy face as she remained on Edward’s knee, unable to think of a way that she could possibly made happier at that particular moment. She knew that she really ought to get up, put more of a distance between them before it got too dangerous, but she would spend as much time as close to him as possible. She sighed gently, unable to contain her contentment as she felt his strong hand rub her back and she tentatively rested her head on his shoulder.
“I was sure it was a dream,” she mumbled against his chest, cautiously breathing in more of his astoundingly alluring scent. As she rested there, she could feel her cheeks begin to burn a little more with pleasure and excitement. If he’s going to be around me, she thought to herself, resisting the urge to squirm in delight. While she was utterly content where she was just then, she also couldn’t wait for all that the future days, weeks, months would bring them. Maybe she should just linger in the moment, though, there was nothing much to…
“Charlie!” she jumped up suddenly, half turning back to her boyfriend with eyes wide in alarm. She couldn’t believe she had completely forgotten about him!

Seeing the smile that played across Bella's face, even in the sleepy haze of first waking up in the morning, was enough to make it worth any amount of discomfort Edward might be feeling by being so close to his ultimate temptation. But as hard as it was to be this close to her, he also didn't want to stop being close to her, feeling just as strong of an emotional draw that kept him wanting that close proximity, as he wanted to hold her and touch her. He gave in as he gently rubbed her back, causing her head to lean against his shoulder. A small smile appeared on his lips as he tried to erase the guilt at what he was doing right now.
Edward chuckled as she mentioned that she was sure it was a dream him being here. "You're not that creative" he joked with her, but wished he knew just what that mind was able to conjur up. He was satisfied when she remained on his lap after he told her needed the practice for the future. He didnt want to scare her off and be the reason she had to act differently. He would force himself to be in control so that she could do as she pleased.
After another moment she jumped up and he saw the worry in her face about her father. "He left an hour ago" Edward said calmly trying to get her to relax, and also keep her with him for a bit longer. Edward would never have let her father catch him in her room. Luckily he could hear Charlie coming, from both his footsteps and the sounds of his thoughts, which were easier to hear than his daughter's . "After he reattached your battery cable too...I have to admit I was disappointed, is that really all it would take to stop you from leaving if you were determined to go?"

Bella shared a private smile with Edward as he quipped with her about her level of creativity when asleep and she resisted the urge to burrow down further into his lap. She stifled a yawn with his marble shoulder and shrugged a little, unable to find the motivation to argue with him as she sat in his arms in such a sleepy state of mind. It may have been hard and cold, technically speaking, but being like this with Edward both warmed and comforted her from the inside out, there was no way she would trade this for anyone with a pulse.
Once she was stood up, her heart beating rapidly and not only over the fear that her father could be just about to walk in on them, she swirled to look at her boyfriend as he spoke. Her wide brown eyes relaxed slightly and she breathed a sigh of relief as he assured her that Charlie had left over an hour ago. However, the shock of the near miss with her parental figure had woken her brain up a little and she was suddenly self-conscious. She wanted nothing more than to go curl back up in Edward’s waiting arms, but she had a sneaking suspicion that she had morning breath. Her gaze travelled from her boyfriend, to the bedroom door and back again a couple of times, working through her torn urges.
“I, uh…” she paused, her porcelain brow creasing as she fought the urge to run back over to him and catapult herself at him, bed-breath or not. “Need a human moment.” With that she padded out of the room on bare feet and into the bathroom, where she brushed her teeth and investigated herself in the mirror. She looked… odd. All patchy and bright eyed, not like her usual unremarkable self. She splashed water on her face and took a few long, deep breaths, trying to regulate the motion before she returned to her boyfriend, though even the mere thought of him sent it all off key again. Oh well, she turned her back on the odd reflection that she cast and half-ran back to her bedroom, eager to be back in Edward’s embrace.
Approaching the vampire with a shy smile, silly considering they had just spent the entire night together (or most of it at least), her brown eyes flicked over his form on the rocking chair, trying to figure out whether he would still welcome her on his lap, or whether he wanted to keep more of a distance now. She sincerely hoped that he still wanted to be close to her, because even if the thought did send her heart thudding along unevenly, there was still nothing that she wanted to be more than close to Edward.

Edward could practically see the relief wash over Bella as she realized her panic was unnecessary as he assured her that her father was no longer in the house so they were in no danger of getting caught. He had never imagined he'd experience such a typical teenage thing like this, to be sneaking around behind his girlfriend's father's back. The normalcy of the act pleased him a bit, as much for her own benefit as his, the mere idea that he was still letting her have somewhat of a normal teenage experience. He didn't want to change her life too drastically, he was already so different on his own, the less he took from her, the better.
But as Edward looked at Bella, seeing the expression on her face change he wished he knew what she was thinking as it seemed a little...worried perhaps? He nodded understanding as she excused herself for a 'human moment', something he knew he'd have to remind himself she'd need, along with things like regular food.
When she re-entered the room, he noticed another change in her demeanor. The girl who had been sitting on his arms and in his lap was now giving him a more shy smile. He hoped that staying the night with her didnt make her uncomfortable, however she still looked happy so he wasn't overly concerned, and it didnt stop him from holding out his arms towards her reaching to take her back if she would let him. "Welcome back"

(OOC: Clearly not done)
Lingering near the doorway now that she had practically ran back to her room after freshening herself up, Bella kept her chocolate brown eyes on her boyfriend, sizing up whether he wanted her to go back to him. She desperately hoped that he did, having never felt so content as when she was there cocooned in the comfort of his arms
