Does anyone else have the soundtrack?? What do you think of the song choices? Bella's Lullaby?
I pre-ordered the soundtrack and it arrived in the mail the day it was released in the US. At first I was hesitant about the songs, they're very different from my usual taste in music. But now after listening to it about a bajillion times I love the entire soundtrack.
And while watching the movie my cousin and I were sitting next to eachother and kept nudging eachother when we recognized the song. And now while listening to the soundtrack (which I'm doing right now), I try to figure out which part of the movie the song plays in. Lol.

I heard the soundtrack before I saw the movie too, I completely loved the songs they picked out. They seem so appropriate for the books. I know a lot of people didnt like Bella's lullaby but I thought it was beautiful and the perfect choice to use.
It was kind of weird when i was watching the movie and I heard the songs. In my mind when I had listened to it, I had already started formulating ideas of where the songs would be played. Not that I disagree with where they ended up putting the songs, some of them just surprised me more than I expected them to lol.

I've got the soundtrack. I got it friday night when I went and saw it in the movies. Biggest line ever. the lady was restocking the soundtracks and there was a line to get to HER. By the time we got to her, she was all out and had to go and get some...

Before seeing the movie I couldn't even imagine where they would play the songs. Lol. What songs did you already have a place for before the movie came out?
Brittany, that's crazy. I hate big crowds and having to wait in a line. I probably would have just left and waited for another day. I'm such a quiet and shy person.

I dont know why, I didnt intentially try to figure out where the songs would go but just listening to them kinda made me think of different scenes. I was SURE Full Moon was going to be at the First Beach scene - not just because of the link most people think between moons and werewolves, but just the music in the song seems very native american like to me...like something you could see being sung around a bonfire. Rob's song I thought would be someplace more calm, maybe while they showed him watching her sleep, or when they were at the restaurant, or even in the meadow...I didnt expect it to show up at the high action climax point lol. Go All the Way (into the twilight) I thought would be at the big fight scene, or at least when someone was running...not just walking into the dance.Oh! or i thought this one could have been for the baseball scene (with the line "tonight, lightning strikes" and all) I cant remember the others right now of where they actually were in the movie...when I see it again I'll try to remember But like i said i wasnt disappointed at where they put the songs, it just gave me a new way to look at them.

Very cool. I had to go and listen to the songs and imagine them in the places that you mentioned, and I could see them fitting there too. Lol. Did you get the soundtrack off iTunes or did you buy the CD? The reason I ask is because Rob's song that was playing when Carlisle and Edward were tending to Bella, Let Me Sign, you only got when you got the soundtrack off iTunes. I had never heard it before, but instantly knew Rob's voice while watching the movie. And if you bought the CD, it only came with Never Think, which plays during the Port Angeles restaurant scene. Oh, and about Rob's song, Let Me Sign. I'm in love with it.

I actually bought the cd and then downloaded the bonus tracks. I am in love with Let me Sign too, wish it would have been on the DC, think I prefer it to Never Think but both are beautiful....I just couldnt offhand remember which of the two i was thinking for the end, but you're right it was Let me Sign.

I had only listened to the soundtrack a handful of times before I saw the movie, and I wasn't really paying attention to artists except for the obvious ones I would pick out like Muse, Linkin Park, Paramore and Iron & Wine. When I saw this thread, I went "Ok, let me see again" and I paid attention etcetc.
I just have to say that I am pleasantly surprised by Rob! His voices is slightly reminiscent of Ray Lamontagne... who is pretty much amazing. I think his tracks really did contribute to the soundtrack, I can't imagine it without them. It has been a while that I've listened to a movie soundtrack that I did not need to skip over any songs. They're all great.

I bought it the other night when I went to see the movie too. No lineup for me I love it.. especially Supermassive Black Hole, Decode, Never Think and Bella's Lullaby. I REALLY wish Let Me Sign had been on the CD... I am in love with it. They used it at such a perfect moment in the movie. As for Never Think, did anyone else notice they played that in the background at the restaurant in Port Angeles? Very subtle.

Yea! I didn't notice that until I saw it for the second time. It was such a perfect place to just slip it in :3 I think that by I Caught Myself by Paramore is adorable as well. I had to listen to it a few times over while driving home from work. That one Flightless Bird, American Mouth by Iron & Wine and Let Me Sign just hit the spot

I noticed when all the songs played, only because I'm so attuned to the CD from listening to it a thousand trillion times. I too wish Let Me Sign was on the CD, I love it.

*is still tapping her fingers.* Happily, if you have keys underneath them, the tapping equals typing or playing the piano, which is quite nice Hopefully the postie will deliver my soundtrack tomorrow though!
