History:
Birthplace:LaPush

History:
Cole was born the son of a Quileute man and very blonde Forks woman. Cole very much took on his mother’s looks, taking her blonde hair and blue eyes, but retaining a tan to his skin from his paternal heritage. Unfortunately the only reason that Cole knows he looks like his mother is from a couple pictures he has of her. The pregnancy was hard on his mother, and he was born prematurely and had a complicated birth. His mother died giving birth of too much blood loss. Cole almost died with her, a premie with a heart defect that needed surgical correction within his first month of life.
Cole’s father took care of the infant, loving the last remaining piece of his wife, and knowing how much she wanted this child. He believed that her spirit lived on in him. By the time Cole was 2, he had a younger brother Elan, as his father had remarried and was moving on with his life. Cole loved being an older brother. As he grew up, the heart problems seemed mostly behind him, however the doctors restricted just how much activity he had, worried that too much could put him into heart failure at any point in his life. Cole was a little small for his age, but for the fist 10 years of his life was pretty healthy once he overcame his infant time. He was a happy child, always friendly in class, becoming very close to Rachel Black, a girl he met in kindergarten.
Things took a turn for the worse for Cole when he was 10. He was diagnosed with Leukemia, a cancer which he would find out later had a high correlation among patients with his type of heart defect. The cancer spread rapidly and Cole spent much time in and out of chemo, with remissions and relapses, bone marrow transplants, and nearly dying several times. Cole had to be home schooled since his diagnosis as he wasn’t strong enough to go to class or risk his immune system coming into contact with too many other illnesses. While he had a few good months hear and there, a few close friends and family were mainly the ones that he had contact with.
Recently the fevers got worse, the doctors thought this time it might be the end for him. Cole had gotten to the point where he didn’t want to spend his last days just lying in bed and wanted to go out to a few parties. The doctors and his father got in an argument with Cole. He stormed out of the house still yelling when the transformation happened. Cole believed it to be a hallucination from the fever. When he returned to his human form, he felt stronger. His father knowing of the legends knew what had happened and was proud of his son. He explained everything to Cole who accepted it, having come to terms with his death, learning he was a shapeshifter was nothing he couldn’t handle. Over the next few months Cole underwent a rapid growth spurt, gaining both height and muscle mass. He felt better than he ever had in his life, and his cancer was back in remission.
Cole believes the wolf part of him fought off the cancer and it’s the reason why he’s healthy. But he also worries the stress of phasing as well as the exertion he undergoes while a wolf will be too much for his heart to take. But he fears if he ever stops changing the cancer will destroy him. But having faced his own mortality before, he tries not to dwell on either option too much, focusing instead on how good he feels.
