Character Basics
Name: Elan Rivers
Nickname: E
Age: 18
Appearance
Looks: Much scrawnier than his brother, Cole, Elan stands extremely tall, but relatively lean. He does have muscle, however they are small and tightly formed rather than the obvious brawn of the rest of the pack. He naturally has sleek, black hair, which he wears in a choppy style around his face and highlights with peroxide blond, giving him a two-tone, peppered look. To match this, he has incredibly dark, almond shape eyes.
Clothing-wise, he favours skinny jeans with studded belts and various wallet chains hanging from them. They are usually black, sometimes torn and are almost always accompanied with a close-fitting t-shirt with some kind of band motif on it. He likes to wear sweatbands and multiple, cheap chains just to add to the look and usually has son Vaans on his feet.
As a wolf he will come to learn that he is one of the scrawniest of the pack, with only moderate speed and strength. He has a sandy coloured coat, getting lighter towards the legs.
Scars, tattoos, other marks: Tattoo over his right hand and wrist.
Portrayed by: Bryan Monte Money
Personality and Stats
Basic Personality: Elan is a bit of a complex character, in that the majority of what he shows to most people is the opposite of how he thinks and feels. He feels it necessary to be the tough guy, to not care about anything, though this isn’t necessarily how he feels. At home he can be sweetly loving of his family, but having no one to vent his concerns to, outside the house he can be a bit reckless and rebellious.
Elan has always felt a little unnecessarily guilty about his brother’s poor health, having never suffered anything more than tonsillitis before. However, despite his uncommonly good health, he has always been somewhat of a closet hypochondriac, seeing symptoms in him that weren’t there. He figures that something bad must happen to him eventually and had been looking out for changes in symptoms in Cole from the tender age of eight (though he didn’t have much of an idea of what was going on at that stage). Though he often fears that he has been struck by illness, he never tells anyone, often working himself up to a level of stress that often manifests as frustration.
Species: Werewolf
Abilities: None
Occupation: Unemployed – just graduated from High School
Car: None
History:
Birthplace: La Push, Washington
Family: Quileute Mother, Quileute Father, Cole Rivers (Half Brother)
Friends: None
History:
Elan was born a full Quileute after his father remarried within the tribe. His birth was uncomplicated, much to his father’s relief, and he was brought home only a few days later with a healthy set of lungs screaming his way. In his early years he just about remembers playing gentle games with Cole, not really missing the fact that they couldn’t go and play football like the other kids. His dad took him out very occasionally, but it wasn’t something Elan was into anyway.
His earliest, clearest memory is of his father sitting him down when Cole first went back into hospital and was diagnosed with Leukaemia, telling him that his big brother might not be able to play with him so much any more, because he was very sick. Of course Elan didn’t understand the implications fully; he could barely say the word. He went to see his brother every day for the first while, thinking he was very lazy for staying in bed so much. However, after a while, it became the norm. Thus, when he started Junior High, he was confused at the strange pitying looks he got from his teachers and, two weeks later, his classmates.
This continued all the way through his term as a student, people somehow knowing when his brother had taken a bad turn almost before he did. Although Elan always had the potential to be smart, due to the amount of time he begged off school and the rest of the time that he skipped it to avoid the strange looks and silences, his grades were not as good as they ought to be. He graduated school in a very average manner, now preferring to spend his time hanging around with a slightly less than savoury group at the beach, where he pretended to be a devil-may-care child as opposed to the pitiful brother of a dying man.
Even now, when Cole looks to be improving astoundingly, Elan continues to portray the hard man, not trusting anything to last. He hasn’t been told about the transformation that Cole has gone through and is sceptical of the changes he has seen his brother go through, trying desperately to hold off hope. Without his knowledge, his own transformation is on the horizon, worrying him no end with the pains that his shifting DNA is causing. Of course he doesn’t dare to tell anyone, not wanting to stress his family with the news.
