{Mid-Eclipse}
A frown had graced Dawn’s face since the trio had first crossed the boundary into the deeply forested area somewhere north of Forks. Although her sight had been obliterated completely from the age of fifteen, she could still tell when she was in a bright area, in daylight, compared to when she was in a heavily shadowed area. Olivia knew that she didn’t like to be shadowed areas when she didn’t have to be, but she had her heart set on hiking through these woods for some reason. At least it was a chance to get out of the apartment, though, which was a feat in itself.
“Libby,” Dawn gasped as she caught her foot on an uneven bit of ground and grabbed her sister’s elbow. “Are we going much further? It’s just that the ground’s getting a little…”
An impatient noise sounded in the back of her sister’s throat and Dawn bowed her head, distancing herself from Olivia and pausing as she tried to regain her sense of direction. She clamped her jaw shut, pressing her lips together as she recognised that her sister deserved a day off and if hiking was what she wanted to do then she would just get on with it. “Doesn’t matter… I was just wondering.”
They carried on moving for a little while, Dawn trying her hardest to concentrate on the terrain, though diving through clusters of trees had shot her sense of where she had come from. They carried on in an uneasy quietness for a while, until finally Olivia squealed and ran to meet someone and Dawn came to a stand still.
“We’re just going to umm… well, we’re just going for a few minutes. Be a good kid and stay here – and for goodness sake, don’t get into trouble,” another disparaging sound emerged from her throat and the next thing Dawn heard was two sets of footsteps jogging away and a giggle. She sighed a little and slowly lowered herself down, willing to wait for her sister to return – what else could she do?
It was over an hour later when the girl’s patience finally ran out and was replaced by an anxiety that accompanied a lack of knowledge of her surroundings or of how she was going to get back to somewhere she knew. She hadn’t experience this too much since she had first lost her sight, but it was an unpleasantness that she remembered vividly. She brought her left hand up to her mouth and chewed on the flesh of her thumb in nervousness, listening to hear for anyone in the distance. She knew she couldn’t just wait here, it was freezing, though thankfully it wasn’t raining – yet. As such, she finally got to her feet and set off tentatively in the direction she thought her sister had ran in, though she didn’t know that she was actually walking off the beaten path and into the thicker tangles of undergrowth.
“Olivia? Libby?” she called, though she didn’t quite dare to raise her voice in case she was in danger of attracting some unwanted attention. She shivered and pulled her jacket closer around her, trying to hurry along a little in her eagerness to make it out of the woods. “Hell-oh!”
Her call turned into a yelp as she tripped over a root and she fell heavily into the undergrowth. She grimaced a little as she picked herself up, but it didn’t feel like anything was hurt, maybe a graze on her palm, though she could guess that she was pretty dirty. Dirt, brown, grey, bit of green. She tried to imagine it as she carried on pushing her way into the dark heart of the forest.

Connor turned the corner running through the woods at full speed. His paws hit the dirt, sending it flying back up into the air as he pushed off again. He made a few leaps, testing out the distance that a wolf could jump. He then focused again on his speed willing himself to go faster and faster, pushing himself to the limits, experiencing the full power and potential that this new life of his had given him. Connor had only found out a couple weeks ago what he was, but it hadn’t taken him long to accept. He rather enjoyed the idea, and Paul had made it all a lot easier for him. As he ran now through the wounds, he almost thought he might prefer the idea of staying a wolf forever, why did he have to change back to a human at all.
Connor had been careless in his running, playing around, showing off (even if just for himself) that he hadn’t noticed how close he was to a person until he heard her voice only a few feet away. Connor stopped dead in his tracks, the light gray wolf head turning to look at the owner of the voice, expecting a scream at any moment. There was no scream, and as he looked around, he wasn’t near the hiking paths. Maybe he hadn’t screwed up afterall. He wasn’t too close to where people normally populated. She was someplace that she shouldn’t be. But he couldn’t exactly yell at her in wolf form. If she turned her head and saw him now, she’d probably run in terror. But as he watched her, looking as though she was looking beyond him (perhaps he blended in with the nature around him?), the last thing in the world he wanted to do was yell at her, and the first thing on his mind was meeting her. The woman was gorgeous and Connor knew he had to get to know her, and find out what she was doing here, not that he minded.
He did a double take again staring at her, she must have been the most beautiful woman he’d ever seen for him to feel the way he was about her. Or was this part of the heightened senses of being in this form. He could see better, run faster, smell better…maybe his emotions were also heightened in every sense, from lust to love to devotion, all of which started running through his mind and heart. Despite the rollercoaster of feelings he was experiencing (of which he didn’t want to let go), he knew he needed to phase back to human form before he ended up scaring her off.
Connor retreated a few yards back, feeling an aching sensation rush through him as she left his sight. His head went back as his front paws lifted up into the air and the phase occurred, his naked human form replacing the animal one that had been present moments before. He heard the woman’s voice call out again, an elongated Hello as he quickly dressed into the pants and tshirt that had been tied around his leg (a trick Paul had told him about). Once he was decent he quickly jogged his way back over to the girl, hoping she hadn’t left yet, and that strong feeling returning as soon as he saw her in the distance.
“Uh…Hi…” He said as he slowly walked over to her, not wanting to frighten her with the sudden appearance of a stranger. “Kinda far off from the path…are you here with someone?” He asked remembering hearing her calling a name. He tilted his head slightly as his vision was lost in her beauty for a moment, surprised that one woman could mesmerize him so much. Was this a residual wolf ability? This intense feeling? It was the greatest high he had ever experienced in his life! “Where are my manners, I’m Connor…I heard you calling out..”

The longer that Dawn spent wandering without any guide or any sort of point of reference the more nervous she became. She knew that Olivia had taken her into the forest somewhere around a town called Forks and that meant that she had no way of knowing whether she was travelling toward a boundary or whether she was ensnaring herself deeper into the dark heart of it – even if she was fully sighted she would be lost. And the fall may have been little this time, but what did the next step hold? A ravine? A hunting trap? She swallowed hard and remained still, wishing that she hadn’t moved – her sister would be mightily annoyed when she couldn’t find her. If she ever came back, that was.
She jumped, gasping in surprise as a sudden voice interrupted her thoughts and she span to where the sound came from. Not that she got any more information from doing that, but it was an old habit that would probably die hard. It wasn’t often these days that she was caught by surprise by someone approaching, but it was as if he had come out of nowhere. She could hear his slow footsteps now that she had heard his voice and along with the recognition that someone was here, a smile of relief graced her face.
“Oh my goodness, someone’s here!” she extended her hand in front of her, into the space between them as she tried to make sure that she wasn’t about to walk into a tree or something. “I was here with someone, my sister, but she sort of ran off somewhere with a friend, I guess. I got a little sick of waiting for her so I began to wander… not too clever, I suppose, all things considered.”
She glanced unthinkingly up to her head, assuming that he would have noticed her lack of sight as it was so obvious to her. She smiled across at the man brightly, though it was directed somewhere in the middle of his chest – she could never imagine that he would be so tall and she was distracted as he addressed her.
“Dawn, my name is… or my name is Dawn, as is the traditional way to say that sentence,” she paused, laughing a little at her own silliness. “Sorry, I get a bit tongue tied sometimes. It’s nice to meet you Connor… I have to admit… I have no idea where I am – do you?”

Connor watched the woman in front of him jump as he startled her. His shoulders slumped forward feeling a bit of shame as he unconsciously attempted to make himself appear smaller and less intimidating. He didn’t usually care what people thought of him, knowing they’d make their judgements quickly, but he cared what she thought, and he didn’t want to risk making a bad impression merely by startling her.”Sorry, I didn’t mean to startle you” He apologized, keeping his voice soft.
The feeling Connor was experienced hadn’t faded in the slightest. In fact every step closer to her that he took, he felt it stronger, as if she were the center of gravity holding him down to the world. His heart heart was filled with more love than he knew he was capable of, and he wanted nothing more than to protect her, hold her and love her. It was insane to be thinking those thoughts, he knew that logically but his heart fought his logical brain and had begun a hostile takeover as his heart now controlled his every thought, ordering him to get closer to the angel in front of him.
He watched her walk forward slowly keeping a hand out in front of her, wondering if her footing was unsteady. “Its not always safe to be wandering out in the woods alone, your sister and her friend shouldn’t have left you here…but I promise I’m not some crazy killer in the woods” He said knowing that a promise from a stranger probably meant nothing but still feeling the urge to assure her in any way he could. He then noticed her nod up to her head as she said ‘all things considered’ and realized the reason why she had her hand out in front of her.
“Oh! You cant see?” he said, feeling like an idiot for having taken so long to notice and then just blurting it out. “I’m sorry I didn’t realize…you’re blind and someone just left you here alone? How could they do that to you?” He asked, feeling a surge of the protective nature he felt earlier coming back ten fold.
“Dawn…” Connor repeated her name, a smile on his face even if she couldn’t see it. It was a beautiful name for a beautiful woman. “That’s a very beautiful name…and its nice to meet you too.” He nodded as she asked him if he knew where they were, then realized she wouldn’t have known he nodded. “Yeah, I’m pretty good with my way around these woods. I can help take you somewhere…if you know where you want to go” He offered.

“Well, that’s good to know, thank you,” she laughed, her northern English accent contracting and elongating certain words that would seem a little odd to anyone not used to it. It made her sound almost comical without trying. Her bright smile, symptomatic of being found at last, dimmed, slightly, however, becoming more serious with the gravity of the situation. She knew that she could have quite easily have fallen and not been found, or worse, found by the worst sort of person, but what else was she to do? Maybe she should have just stayed where she was, her sister probably would have returned eventually. Still, the integral warmth and concern in Connor’s voice did a lot to reassure her nerves and her worries. There was something about it that made her feel safe, despite not knowing him from Adam, but that might just be the situation.
Dawn immediately bowed her head, her pale, freckled cheeks flushing as Connor realised that she was blind and as she realised that he hadn’t already figured it out. She didn’t really have much contact with people that didn’t know all about it before she met them, but she knew from school that it sometimes made people treat her differently. For some reason she really hoped that it wouldn’t put her would-be rescuer off speaking to her now; she always hoped no one would be put off spending time with her, but for some reason this seemed a bit… different. She shook her head a little, hardly realising she was doing it as she tried to dislodge the silly thought.
“No,” she lifted her head and directed her speech in his vague direction, now realising that his voice seemed to be originating far higher than she would expect. She pulled her lower lip in between her teeth and chewed on it a little whilst shrugging. She didn’t like to call her sister’s care into question, knowing that this wasn’t really her choice, that she was a burden her sister didn’t really want to carry. “Don’t worry about it, I’m still getting used to it myself. I don’t really mind, most of time, Olivia has her own life and I don’t like to be a nuisance, she was just away a bit longer than I expected, though…”
“Thank you, Connor,” she smiled brightly at the man, now inclining her head further up as she figured he was much taller than she originally gave him credit for. However a moment later another brief frown clouded her expression, looking unsure as she tried to recall everything her sister had told her. She inhaled deeply, still trying to recall everything. The problem here was that she didn’t know the area, she had never seen Forks, La Push, Seattle, whereas at least back at home, in England, she had vague memories of what things were like. “I think my sister said she was going to the beach or something and she would be back in a few minutes, but that was well, I’d guess around an hour and a half ago, maybe? But we’re in the woods, right? So maybe I misheard.”
She bowed her head again, feeling ridiculous, the colour of grave embarrassment tinting her cheeks. One of the worst things about this whole thing was the helplessness that sometimes accompanied it.

Connor laughed with her as she thanked him for not being a crazy killer. Her words were so beautiful they almost seemed musical to him. The way she talked was so unique and her accent gorgeous to him. It pointed out to him further how lost she must be feeling right now as she was far from home. He tried to figure out what type of accent it was. Not being well traveled he had to base it on movies he’d seen. Scottish? Irish? English? New Zealand? He realized he was bad at this game and smiled knowing it could be something he could ask her about. “Your accent is beautiful…where are you from?”
Connor saw her look down embarrassed as he realized she was blind. He hoped that he hadn’t made her feel self conscious about it, seeing as how he just pointed it out to her. “Sorry…I shouldn’t have said anything” He said feeling guilty. He then listened as she said how she didn’t want to be a nuisance to her sister. “You’re not a nuisance and anyone who cares about you wouldn’t see you that way. They should be looking our for you…there are animals in these woods, you could have been hurt”
“You’re welcome” Connor said smiling back at her, looking into her eyes as she looked up towards him. He took another couple steps towards her, closing the gap between them. He watched her frown as she tried to figure out where her sister had gone. “Well if you like I can take you down to the beach, and if we don’t see her there if you want I can drive you back home.

A healthy, flattered glow immediately appeared on Dawn’s cheeks as Connor complimented her accent. Unusually she felt an unbidden, and certainly unexpected, fluttering deep within her stomach as long dormant butterflies began to awake. For some reason that she really could not logically discern, she felt as though that single compliment was the best that she had ever received. Okay, so compliments were not easy to come by these days, but her mother had told her all the time how special she was – it may have been a way of reassuring her against her disability, but Dawn had always been able to hear the truth in the voices of the people she knew. She laughed a little, a quiet sound compared to others.
“I’m English,” she said, laughter still evident in her voice. She automatically allowed her arm to swing out to make light contact with whatever part of him it was in line with. The moment that it made contact with his warm form, however, she felt a strange spark of energy pass through the touch. It was odd, a good odd, it wasn’t a static shock, it was something much more powerful. She found herself strangely drawn to him, wanting to reach out to touch him once more just to see if it would evoke the same reaction, and because when she did it, it made the butterflies in her stomach turn somersaults. “I’m from the north, though – you don’t hear many accents from up our way on the telly. Thank you, though…”
As Connor responded to her sister’s disappearance, Dawn cursed herself internally. She could only assume that her physical response to her figuring out that he didn’t automatically know that she was blind had been astoundingly obvious. That’s not what she meant it to be, she didn’t want him to feel bad for noticing something so blatantly obvious about her. She honestly, most of the time, did not mind being blind, so long as she felt able to look after herself, that she wasn’t imposing on others, it was fine. “No,” she told him, firmly, a half smile emerging on her face. “I don’t mind, honestly. I’ve known that I’d be blind young since I was five, I dealt with that a long time ago…”
She bit her lip a little, her brave words being slightly diminished by unintentional quirks of her anatomy, such as the slight increase in her blush. “I know,” she admitted, breathing out in a slight sigh. This was where she was pretty much stuck. Olivia was, on the one hand, stuck with her, but her decision to move to an area that Dawn could not draw on any experience of from when she had sight, had made her dependence on her big sister all the more intense. She had tried, once, to explain this to the short tempered girl, but that had ended with a fight that had lasted a full week, so she wasn’t anxious to broach that particular subject again any time soon. “But there’s a difference between caring for someone and being responsible for them. She does her best, even she says that she’s not cut out for this, but neither of us have been left with much more of a choice,” she shrugged a little and then bowed her head with an anxious expression. “I’m so sorry. I barely know you, I doubt you want to be hearing all this!”
She laughed a little, trying to break some of the awkward tension that she could feel beginning to build up in her muscles. For some reason, along with the spark and the somersaulting butterflies, she felt like she could tell this strange, tall man anything in the world, that he somehow had some great power to make her well and she desperately did not want to alienate them on their first meeting.
Dawn found that her smile automatically widened as she heard and sort of felt Connor take another step or two towards her and the urge to reach out to him intensified so much that she had to clasp her hands together to stop them from acting of their own accord. “That would be great. Wow, Connor… you’re really nice,” she grinned in his vague direction and one of her hands slipped free from their deathly clasp, reaching forward. She reached tentatively towards the tall man, hoping to get his arm, though as her fingers reached forward they came into contact with a decidedly chest-shaped t-shirty feeling thing. She laughed a little, hoping he didn’t mind. “Sorry, I was aiming for your arm their – slight miscalculation… There we go,” she shifted her hand sideways until it reached the incredibly muscled bare arm. “But yes, if you had the time, you could take me to the beach – it would be really helpful… but if they’re not there we’ll have to figure something else out… We live in Seattle, not exactly around the corner.”
She patted his arm again, another unconscious desire to check that he was still really there and really real, this time the temperature coming through her sensitive fingertips. “Wow, you’re really hot.”

Connor smiled as he learned a new fact about this beautiful woman. She was English. The beautiful melodic tone to her voice was accented by her English heritage. His feelings for her were growing by the minute and it was almost an overwhelming experience. “It’s really beautiful” He repeated now knowing what it was. “How long ago did you move here?” He asked her, not able to help himself from wanting to find out more about her. He also couldn’t even let himself entertain the very probable idea that she was only here on vacation and would be leaving soon. He had a duty to the pack now, and he didn’t think they’d understand him running off claiming love at first sight. Especially if it was just heightened senses from being a wolf, they would probably just laugh at him for not being able to control himself.
“Since you were five?” Connor repeated as he listened to her explain that she dealt with being blind long ago. “I can’t imagine what you’ve had to go through, it must take a lot of courage.” He said, admiring her for having dealt with it so well to the point that she was here now by herself (even if Connor did still feel a bit of anger towards her sister for having not protected her better in the wilderness and stayed to keep her safe). Dawn was brave, he had no doubt of that.
Connor continued to listen to Dawn explain to him about how she and her sister didn’t really have a choice but she did the best she could. She then apologized for saying so much. “No, I’m glad to hear it…I want to get to know you…maybe your sister isn’t cut out for this, leaving you here doesn’t seem very responsible…but maybe I can help out” He said knowing that he didn’t just want to help her find her way today, but he’d help her anytime. He wanted to get to know her better and be there anytime she needed him. He knew he’d care for her better than her sister had, and he was sure that she could take care of herself pretty well too.
The sound of her laughter sounded so beautiful that he knew he wanted to hear more of it as much as he wanted to hear more of her voice. Everything about her he loved. He smiled as she called him nice for his offer. He wished she could see him smiling and see how much one compliment from her could get make his mood soar. “It’s nothing really, I’m happy to do it. “ He assured her.
He looked down as her hand reached out. He stood still trying to figure out if she was trying to get to something. Should he get out of her way? Was she trying to walk forward? He couldn’t get himself to move however wanting to feel the touch of her hand. It soon landed on his chest. He laughed with her as she explained her miscalculation in aiming for his arm. “Its quite alright” He told her, placing his hand gently over hers as it settled on his arm. “And I have all day, so we’ll go to the beach, and we can wait there if you want or I’ll take you to Seattle…like I said, I’ve got all day, I don’t mind the drive”
The idea of getting to take such a long trip with this girl that he was already falling head over heels for was exhilarating. He was sure Paul would be mocking him once he told him the story, but this girl was perfect in every way. It was like she was his dream girl brought to life.
Connor couldn’t help but laugh as she commented about him being hot. He knew she was observing his skin temperature, something he had recently learned was due to the wolf change in him, but he couldn’t pass up the chance to joke and hopefully keep things light and comfortable between them. “Yeah, and you haven’t even seen my face” He said saying it in a way that his tone would let her know he knew that wasn’t what she had meant to say.

The blush on Dawn’s cheeks only increased as Connor continued to compliment her accent, an asset that she had not yet heard praised in her life, but then she had limited contact with anyone outside of her large home town. She laughed a little, a light, genuine sound, baring her smile to the tall man, complete with imperfect gap in her front teeth. Perhaps if she was able to see vanity would have made her get braces a long time ago to fix the dental flaw, but she barely knew its difference to the straight teeth and pearly smiles of today’s teenagers.
“Oh, not long ago,” she admitted to her next question, her sense of time having gotten quite good over the years. “My sister decided to move out here after mum died. I think she was getting a bit stifled in Bolton – my home town – so about two months ago we moved out here. She has some kind of work visa, so we’re out here for a year at least. Not sure what’ll happen after that, but I think she hopes that her work will extend it. Don’t know what’ll happen with mine then, though…” she trailed off a little, knowing that with her having just turned eighteen, her visa wouldn’t be so easy to come by.
She shrugged a little, the blush continuing to warm her otherwise pale complexion as he praised her courage. She didn’t feel that courageous when she thought back to her past. She was just lucky to have had such an understanding and doting mother and, in all, after being told about it when she was five, the loss was a natural progression. There had been hard times, though, and she hadn’t been brave at all then, especially in her early and mid teens. She twirled one of the hair elastics on her wrist around, another nervous habit, and looked up bashfully.
“I wouldn’t praise me too much, I’m sure others would be braver. When you know about something for so long, I suppose it makes it easier,” she cracked a smile then, not wanting to sound too morose. “Then ten years later I was left like this. It’s not too bad really, when you think about it.”
Dawn shifted the tilt of her head, her large, empty, murky green-brown eyes suddenly directed straight into Connor’s by sheer luck. They crinkled at the corners as a slow smile crept over her lips, genuinely happy that he wanted to know about her, that he was interested in her. Hardly anyone ever was, she just hoped that it wasn’t out of a morbid fascination of differentness, but that thought hardly featured in her mind, as open and trusting as it was.
“That’s really nice of you, Connor. But you don’t need to feel like that, just ‘cause you found me wandering around out here like an idiot,” she said, laughter in her voice, though it was hiding the edge of hopefulness that widened her eyes slightly as they continued to stare unknowingly into her imprinter’s eyes. Her smile widened, once again showing off an imperfect set of teeth to him as her face lightened with the emotion. “Well, if you’re happy to do it, then I’m happy that you’re happy to do it. But, if you’re going to help me then we have to be friends – no pity helping – deal?”
The smile, which appeared to be perpetual on Dawn’s face, once again grew as she felt the incredible warmth of Connor’s hand on top of her own. As she felt the heat and his word penetrate her hand and her mind, her lips fell open a little and she took some air in through them. The contact and the attention was doing some odd things to her, good odd things. Her heart seemed to have kicked into overdrive, sputtering into action with his touch. It felt… amazing and his touch was perfect on her sensitive hand, despite the unusual warmth that it held. She didn’t want to let go, but how long could she leave her hand there without it seeming inappropriate?
“We’ll have to see how things go,” she responded, rather breathily, almost hoping that he would need to take her to Seattle himself, even if it was selfish of her. She allowed herself to imagine the long drive, so unbearably quiet on the way there, how great it could be with his company. A twinge of sadness shook one of her heart strings, though, probably the only one that wasn’t vibrating in sheer excited joy. She knew that the likelihood of Connor returning these strangely intense feelings was small. He was young, by the sound of it, and fit, by the feel, his manner seemed… perfect… there must be women flocking all over him to be friends and more. Still, though, she wasn’t one to mope and she decided to take advantage of the time that she had around the nice man, relishing the fact that she had managed to meet one without her sister present.
“True, true,” she laughed along to Connor’s joke, colouring a little at her slip of tongue in calling him hot. She flashed her teeth at him, her large eyes crinkling at the corners once more. “But there’s a lot I can gauge from a single, fleeting touch,” she teased, lifted her free arm and brushing him lightly on his chest with a giggle, reminding him of the mistake she had made earlier.

The sound of her laugh was so pure and elegant to Connors ears. It was how he would have imagined an angels voice would sound ringing down from heaven, if he were the type of guy to think about those things. He noticed the small gap between her teeth but didn't see it as an imperfection at all, but rather a very cute trait about her. It made her even more beautiful in his eyes and he wouldn't change a thing about her.
Connor listened to her story about how recently she had moved here. He felt sympathy towards her when she told him about her mother dying. Connor hadn't seen his own mother since he was 5 years old and didnt even know if she was still alive, but he could imagine that it would be hard on someone who had grown up having that person in their life. "You've got to be able to stay too!" He said with almost an urgency in his voice as she voiced the prospect of her visa running out. He didnt want to lose this amazing woman in his life now that he'd discovered her. He was in love with this woman, as crazy as it seemed. He wouldnt lose her, even if it meant following after her to England. There was nothing tying him down here. He had the pack, but it was different for him, he didnt have family who kept him on the rez.
"I dont know anyone who would've been braver. I'm sure most people wouldnt be" Connor complimented her again as she showed her modesty. "I still think you're very strong.I'm sure it can't be an easy thing to live with" He told her, wishing he could make it easier on her with everything in him.
Connor looked first into her eyes as she managed to gaze directly at him, if he wasn't sure to believe every word she said, he may have wondered if she could see him the way she looked right at him. His eyes then trailed down to her smile, the way her lips curled drew him in.
"You werent wandering like an idiot, I dont think you could do anything like an idiot" He told her, even though he had known her only a few minutes. He shook his head even though she couldnt see him. "No pity, I would love to help you as a friend, you're honestly making my day a heck of a lot better by letting me spend some time with you" He admitted openly, though hoping he wasn't going to make her change her mind.
The feeling of Dawn's hand against his skin brought a comfort he'd never felt. He felt complete, and as though he knew what life was about. He never believed he'd really find a woman who would become his life like the fairy tales talked about. He figured he'd stay a loner forever, but she made him want desperately to have someone to share his life with, and he needed it to be her and no one else.
He nodded again out of habit as she spoke of seeing how the day went. He didnt want to find her sister now and just hand her over not after they just met, he wanted to spend the rest of the day with her. "You know, since we are friends now and getting to know each other...even if your sister is there..you could still stick around a little and I could take you back later...so that she didnt have to wait" He offered, hoping it didnt sound too creepy. "I mean if you want" He added quickly not wanting to seem overbearing when she was in a vulnerable position.
Connor grinned as she laughed at his joke, glad she had taken it as it was and not seen it as a mocking of her. "I'm sure you've learned to get much more from a touch than I ever could" He told her. "If you need to feel around to get any other information feel free" He said, surprisingly meaning it innocently with her situation but quickly realizing how bad it sounded. "That really didnt sound right...I'm sorry"

Touched by the sudden outcry of Connor’s, saying that she had to be able to say too, all Dawn could do was shrug. She had no control over that and she truly did wonder whether her sister would send her back to England on her own if she could only get her work to sponsor her for a new visa. Nevertheless, she grinned up in Connor’s vague direction, already glad that he wanted her there, she only hoped with him. “I hope so…” Was all she offered. She almost blurted out because of him, but knew that would be stupid and so stifled it.
She bowed her head a little as the handsome sounding man said that he couldn’t imagine anyone being braver. She guessed that she could have been more scared, but, similarly, she could also have been a lot stronger. There was a lot of crying and despairing. Losing a sense was like nothing else, she couldn’t even describe, though if she tried she decided it would be like ‘losing a fifth of oneself’, which was quite a proportion. She shook her head, “No, it wasn’t easy but… I guess it could have been worse.”
Dawn blushed a little as she heard how Connor didn’t think she could do anything like an idiot. If only he knew. She was sure that if he had seen her as she had suffered her blindness then he wouldn’t think her so brave. It had been the scariest thing that had ever happened to her and the helplessness made her weaker than she liked to admit. She did smile, however, as he told her how he didn’t pity her – such a relief. She bit her lip lightly and glanced up at him just a degree or two off his face, “I’m glad you feel comfortable with me… I creep most people out… I guess I don’t look at people properly, but believe me… I wish I could… look at you.” Maybe it was too much for a man that she had just met, but it was what she felt and she couldn’t suppress it.
Dawn’s heart soared as she heard Connor say that they could spend more time together. Now that she had felt his chest, the strong, vital being behind the man, she couldn’t bare letting him go. For some reason she desperately wanted to get to know him, as intimately as he would allow. She rested a perhaps too forward hand on him, looking blindly upward, past her imprinter, though she didn’t mean to, “I would really love to spend more time with you.”
She grinned at his retort to her little joke, glad that he wasn’t freaked out by her disability. “I’m sure I have,” she said, pushing her palm innocently against his chest, though she pulled it away when she realised that he felt guilty for how he termed the phrase. She continued her natural smile, however, directing her gaze blindly up at him. “No, I really am good at getting a feel for people… and I don’t know why, really, but I want to get to know you properly…”
She snaked her hand up, her cool fingertips travelling over Connor’s face, feeling the contours of his cheeks and his nose, the crease of his brow and the thickness of his eyebrows, until her fingers snaked into his hair.

Connor hoped that his insistence of how she had to stay in the country wouldnt be seen by her as something inappropriate coming from a near-stranger. It just seemed like something to him that couldnt possibly happen. He could no longer see the world functioning without having her as a part of his life, and had no idea how he had survived before without her. Seeing her grin encouraged her that maybe she wanted to stay as well. "I hope so too"
"The fact that you can even keep perspective that things could be any worse after going through that shows just how strong you are" Connor commented, knowing most people in her position would probably think they had the worst possible situation and not consider things could be worse.
Connor smiled seeing her blush, she was such a pretty young woman. Though he could see it was more than just the outside appearance, her spirit was beautiful as well. He knew his words were true as he told her he didnt pity her. He wished she hadn't had to go through something like that, but he didnt pity her, she was too strong to be pitied. "You don't creep me out at all, I promise. I like being around you" He assured her, smiling as she said she wished she could look at him. He wished that too, that she could see him, wondering if it would make her feel the way he did looking at her. "I wish you could too"
Connor felt nervous after making his suggest that they spend more time together, even if they did find her sister. He hoped that without the necessity of having no one else to help her that she'd still want to spend time with him, and that it wasn't all too much too soon after they met. But feeling her hand on his chest made him feel so connected to her and he smiled with joy as she agreed. "I'd love that too"
"It may seem weird for two people who have just met, but I want us to get to know each other properly too" He agreed with her as her hand moved away from his chest. He remained still as she moved it up to his face, feeling as though she was probably seeing him better this way than most people ever did who looked at him. As her fingers reached his hair he couldn't help himself from reaching out to feel her own skin, placing his hand gently against the smooth skin of her cheek.
