{….One year post Breaking Dawn…..tag Edward….}
The meeting in the woods hadn’t been unpleasant for Jayden. In fact, just the opposite, meeting Blake had been interesting and tempting. On returning home Jayden had found herself thinking about him and picturing his face and his deep red eyes. No matter how much she told herself it was wrong she was couldn’t make herself not want to see him again. He was handsome, charming and dangerous all three things made her desire his company more.
It was her time at home thinking about Blake that made Jayden realize she had to tell the Cullen family about the new vampire in the area. It would be foolish not to, Blake may not be an actual risk to their lives and existence but he was a risk to their secret. Blake represented a lot of risks to their life in Forks and after their recent run in with the Volturi Jayden would do anything to help them protect their lives and family.
It was late and already dark when Jayden decided to head over to the large Cullen house tucked away in the trees; she only hoped that Edward and Bella were still at the main house and hadn’t returned to their cottage. Even before leaving her own home Jayden knew she wanted to bring this up to Edward first and let him take it to the rest of the family. It wasn’t that she didn’t want to share the news with Carlisle, just she assumed he’d be at work. Also, she was closer to Edward having shared school, a love for a human and now the hybrid experience. Jayden found herself looking to Edward as a older brother, almost.
The drive was quick and short from her home to the Cullen’s home. She knew her approach would be noticed just as she was aware that the house was occupied. Exiting the car Jayden went over in her head what she was going to tell Edward about the visitor she’d met in the woods. Carlisle’s care was absent therefore confirming he was indeed at the hospital. The house was quiet except for the fluttering beat of a heart; Jayden knew that was Reneesme’s meaning the new family was still at the main house.
Climbing the few steps to the front door Jayden knocked lightly so as not to wake the sleeping child. No matter how many times she visited the house she still wasn’t comfortable just walking in, it wasn’t her home after all. Waiting for an answer her mind tried to order all that had happened and all that could happen from Blake’s proximity to the town and themselves. Even worrying about the problems he could cause, Jayden wasn’t sure she wanted him to leave. That was the kind of thought she needed to keep from her mind while she spoke to Edward, it was the kind of though he wouldn’t take to kindly to hearing that she wanted a standard vampire to stay close. Stepping back she waited and tried to relax.

Edward heard the sound of the car approaching first. He tilted his head towards the doorway as he listened further for the sounds of the thoughts from the driver to figure out who was coming this late at night. There were few people who came to visit, but with Renesmee's frequent growth spurts, any unplanned visit could be potentially a problem. Renesmee was upstairs with Bella so he knew she was safe. As he heard who was approaching he relaxed his muscles a bit, hearing the sound of Jayden's thoughts preceding her arrival.
Edward answered the door moments after he heard the knock, having already been walking towards it but using human speed to get there, trying to keep up the practice. "Jayden, come on in" He said with a small smile, hoping everything was alright with his friend. He saw a brief flash of a male's face in her mind but the details surrounding it and what was causing the tension in her thoughts wasn't yet clear to him as he assumed she was trying to gather her thoughts to talk to him.
"Is everything okay?" He asked her, still a bit worried himself, hoping that both Jayden and his family would be safe.

Jayden hoped her late and unannounced wouldn’t cause to much trouble for the Cullen family, but she knew this news couldn’t wait. The more she thought about telling the Cullen’s about Blake, the more she wanted to keep him to herself, there was something about the vampire that interested Jayden; she couldn’t stop thinking about him. It wasn’t just the risk her posed, but him. Jayden pictures his face and wanted to see him again; soon.
Stepping back from the door Jayden listened to the approaching footsteps as she tried to calm her nerves. Jayden returned Edward’s smile as he opened the door stepping over the thresh hold and trying to keep her thoughts in check. It wasn’t that she was hiding anything from the mind reader, more he need to have everything in check before she said them out loud. “Sorry for the late hour Edward, I hope I’m not disturbing Nessie.” Jayden said knowing the young hybrid needed sleep just as she did.
“I was in the woods, not hunting just taking some time away.” Jayden said gently turning to look at Edward coming to stop in the center of the room. “I met another vampire. Not like us.” She said honestly and openly, but she didn’t mention the attraction she felt to him or the need she had to see him again.

"You're not disturbing anyone, don't worry" Edward reassured her, stepping to the side so that Jayden could enter the house. While his young daughter did still need sleep, in a house that was always occupied with someone else who was awake, she had adjusted well to sleeping with a little noise around her. "You're always welcome" Edward added.
Edward was glad that Jayden didn't prolong her reason for coming with too much small talk or pleasantries but got to the point rather quickly. He was worried about her sudden arrival, not that he minded her just showing up but because the look on her face showed him there was something they needed to discuss, and the image he had seen in her mind was of a vampire.
Edward nodded as she spoke of being in the woods but not hunting. He stiffened a bit as he heard her mentioned another vampire, not like them. "Are you alright ?" He asked, first wanting to make sure that she hadn't been attacked but knowing there were many other questions that needed to be asked. "How close to town was it? Do you know if they were staying?" He said worried about a visitor that would be hanging around. While the family had friends who didn't share their diet, and had been helpful when they needed them against the Volturi, having a vampire nearby also threatened to expose them and they had to be careful.

Glad to hear she wasn’t disturbing anyone, especially not her fellow Hybrid Nessie, Jayden nodded and entered the house. Remebering a lot of her own infancy, though not as gifted as Nessie she did remember needing sleep and rest like a human child just as she did now though not as frequently as her human counterparts. “Thank you Edward.” She smiled briefly as he reminded her she was welcome.
Though she tried not too Jayden couldn’t stop thinking about Blake and seeing his face. She wanted to see him again. Already she knew she had to see him again and soon. No matter what the Cullens would think she knew it was going to be hard, if not impossible, to stay away from the nomadic vampire. Trying to cover her thoughts of Blake Jay tried to remember her father’s face and his description of her mother, it wasn’t that she didn’t want to think of Blake she just didn’t want Edward to realize how much she though of the other vampire.
“I’m fine. He didn’t hurt me.” She reassured feeling grateful for the concern. In the woods Jayden had never feared anything from Blake, she’d been intrigued as he eventually had been too. Though it was foolish not to be scared of Blake because she knew what he kind could do even to one of their own maybe more so to a half breed. He was about miles from the town, north of the river and south of Goat rocks. As for his plans, I don’t know. He seemed to be alone.” She explained giving as much as she could, but realizing she knew very little.
He could leave and she might not see him again. Maybe he wasn’t alone, he could have a mate like many of their kind did. He might have already left to return to his own group and mate.
All the thoughts raced through Jayden’s mind, she couldn’t stop them and she hoped her news had kept Edward from her mind. “He didn’t seem very old, but not a new born either. There was none of the erratic motions or actions of a new born.” Jayden explained quickly hoping to cover more of her panicked thoughts.

"You're welcome" Edward replied as Jayden thanked him for his welcome, though he didn't think the thanks were necessary. She was a friend of the family and would always be welcome there. And with her connection to his daughter, he knew having her around would be of some help to the little girl. Though she was loved by those who didn't even share her species.
Edward could see the red eyes of the vampire in Jayden's memories and it worried him. Though he no longer had to worry about someone being drawn to the scent of Bella's blood as he had been, a new vampire in the area always posed the threat of exposure for his family who liked to keep residence there. The images in Jayden's head changed to that which he recognized as her father and Edward wondered if it was her attempt to keep part of the situation from him. Had there been an attack that she didn't want to worry him with all at once?
"You're sure?" He asked with concern as she said the vampire hadn't hurt her. He tried to be patient and wait for her to tell him what had happened instead of trying to probe her mind for hints of what had happened again. He nodded as she explained where he was. "A nomad then...did he see you, say anything" He asked, wondering if she had just spotted him and left, or spoken to the vampire. She had said she didn't know his plans, but that didn't mean she hadn't learned something about him. Edward was too occupied with his own questioning thoughts that he missed her guesses about the vampire possibly having a mate and Jayden's distaste of the thought.
"Its good that we're not dealing with a newborn, but hopefully its not someone who's planning to come any closer to town or stick around..."

The formality of her speech was unusual for Jayden, at least now it was. She was a regular at the Cullen house finding a special bond with the small child with whole she shared a half sort of life.
Trying desperately to keep Blake from her mind was harder then Jayden would have believed it would be. It was as if he was the only thing on her mind, which was as he had been since their meeting. Everything about him had drawn her into him. Now she tried to think of other things pulling her father’s image to her head as she talked about the nomad without using his name.
If what she felt for this Vampire was pain then she wanted to feel it more and more. “I’m sure, he was gentle and kept his distance.” she said feeling a tinge of regret that she hadn’t been closer to him when she had the chance. He was a nomad and they moved, supposing her was gone already? The very thought ripped through her heart and her mind flooded with quick flashing images of their brief meeting…. Edward’s voice again brought her back to the room. “He saw me and we spoke. He didn’t really say anything. He thought I was human.” She said remembering his mistake and how she’d felt little fear from him.
“He’s not dangerous, atleast I don’t think he means to be a danger to the town.” she said feeling an instant need to defend him and vouch for him neither of which feelings she could understand or truly take responsibility for. “Is it really that bad if he stays?” Even as she asked she knew the answer. Blake wasn’t her first nomadic traditional vampire, she knew their dangers, but with him she knew his allure.
