The afternoon had started off horribly, the fall had been the worst, but Lyndal couldn’t help but be reassured that something good had come from it; Travis actually seemed to take to her. Smiling she looked up at Nash. “You really think so?” She asked glancing back at the retreating boy, she hoped he was right.
“So freaking out makes me trust worthy, that American logic?” she joked feeling a little more at ease knowing Nash didn’t hate her for what had happened. “You can trust me and I’m thankful for that trust.” She said more seriously.
Cute wasn’t the word Lyndal used to describe it when her mum used it one her, the older she got the more embarrassed, but it suited Travis for now. “Probably thinks I’m crazy.” She said knowing their conversation before the fall probably lent itself to that theory.
Lyndal smiled into Nash’s chest as she rested there, it was instant comfort and security. As his arms descended around her the feelings only intensified. “Thanks, I need this.” She said pulling back slightly, but only to move her own arms to wrap around his neck and deepen the embrace. “How long do you think Day can entertain Travis?” She asked trying to sound mature and teasing as she reached up to kiss him.

Nash knew that his son hadn't been the most receptive to Lyndal's presence in their lives. He had been excited in the beginning when she was just a visitor to the home, but he knew that Travis had sensed Lyndal and Nash becoming closer and that was what had seemed to put Travis off. But today seemed to be a step towards bridging that gap and he smiled at Lyndal confidently. "Yeah I do think so"
He laughed as she said how freaking out making her trustworthy must be American logic. "No, you caring enough TO freak out makes you trustworthy" He told her, nodding as she said that he could trust her, and knowing that he could. It was hard for him to trust new people with his son sometimes, but he did trust Dal.
"Nah, he probably thinks you're really cool, you made him feel better when he was hurt" He said appreciating that she was able to comfort him. He kept his arms around her enjoying holding her there. "I needed this too" He told her, always needing her. He laughed again as she asked how long Day could entertain Travis. "Hopefully a long time" He said bending down to meet her kiss.

Hearing that Nash thought she and Travis had turned a corner in their relationship made her smile, she wanted to have a connection and close bond with Trav. She beamed up at him sharing his confidence and excitement.
She knew she did freak out, but she was worried Trav was hurt and Nash would hold it against her. When he laughed, she laughed too. “Ok so I did have a fit, but I was scared.” She said thought her laughter. “I thought you’d kill me for hurting him.” She explained with more seriousness. “I will be more careful though.”
The last thing Lyndal wanted was for anyone to think she was trying to worm her way in and be something she wasn’t to Travis or Nash. Stepping into Nash’s arms gave her the same familiar feeling she was growing more and more used to, a calming completion. A long time sounded good to Dal as she let her lips meet Nash’s and tightened her arms around him.
Lyndal didn’t intend to break contact any time soon. She gripped his neck tighter as he lips brushed more violently and eagerly against his. Her body pressed to his and she tried to show him she wanted more time, more kisses, more him. Her breath was coming out ragged in gasps whenever their lips broke for a split second. The last thought on her mind was Travis a few feet away with Daylan.
