"I think he's fun to be around, but I am a little biased as far as he's concerned" Nash said knowing it was true. Parents always thought their kids were the best. He nodded as she spoke of being excited to spend time with the three of them. "I can't wait either, I hope we can find something you both enjoy" He told her, knowing no matter what they did, it would be something he'd enjoy.
Nash thought it was adorable the way she reacted to his compliments. She was a bit shy and modest. Michelle had always been a bit full of herself and acted like she expected his compliments. Nash nodded as she asked if he liked her shampoo. "I do, its very nice, fresh smelling"
Nash felt more nervous about this night than others. Other times they had just snuck into each others rooms after they'd gone to bed. But now, their spending the night together was something that was planned. It made his heart race. "Thank you" He smiled at her compliment as she sat up in bed. He felt a little more nervous as she mentioned him never getting cold, even when it was freezing outside. "Yeah, I'm just really warm blooded I guess, probably a native thing, gotta be used to the cold"

Nash may have been biased, but Lyndal knew she was starting to be just as biased to the little boy. Although Travis wasn’t hers she loved him and could feel her heart been draw to him as if he was, or how she thought it would be to have her own child. “I’ll enjoy whatever he does, but a zoo or something maybe.” she suggested knowing she just wanted to be with them.
Knowing he liked her shampoo Dal made a note not to change it, she smiled as he said he liked it. She liked his scent too, he smelt like the woods; fresh and filled with nature.
Sitting up and looking at him Dal couldn’t believe they were about to settle down in bed together for the whole night, it made her heart race with anticipation. Hearing about him been hot blood she nodded. “Well its good one of us is used to the cold. And I’m glad I have you to keep me warm.” She said shifting the blankets on the bed to get in. she half laughed and turned to him, “which side do you want?” she asked with a nervous giggle.

Nash smiled happily, just listening to how easygoing Lyndal was about everything, willing o do something that would make Travis happy. He wasn't her child and he knew he was lucky that she was so willing to allow him into her life as much as Nash. "I think the Zoo would be fun. He loves animals" Nash said, often wishing he could show his son a real life wolf, but at the same time fearing he'd be seeing that all too soon for himself if the vampires stuck around long enough.
Nash moved over and stood by the foot of the bed as she sat up. "I do have my uses, being a human blanket is one of them" He told her with a silly grin on his face. He listened to her ask then which side of the bed he wanted. "Either is fine with me, what do you prefer?" He asked her.

The Zoo did sound good and fun Dal knew Travis loved the animals and it seemed like a fun thing for the three of them to do for the day. She wanted to have a good strong relationship with Nash, but she didn’t want to push herself in or have anyone think she was trying to take on a tole she wasn’t supposed to have.
“Oh you’re more then a human blanket, but that’s a perk.” She smiled back at him enjoying their relaxed nature and banter. His goofy grin was so handsome Lyndal had to turn back to the pillows and the bed to keep from getting lost in it. “I’m fine with either.” She said pulling back the covers and slipping into the bed still watching him. Her head rested on the pillow and she smiled back at him. “Turn out the light and come to bed.” She said feeling sleepier actually been in bed then she had before just talking about it.
Giving into a yawn as the lights went out Dal waited for Nash. “You know I don’t think I’ll have any trouble sleeping after that movie.” She said into the darkness as her eyes closed.

Nash was already thinking about the trip to the zoo. He knew that the zoo didnt have any wolves in it, but wondered if they had a coyote or something similar he could take her by to gauge her reaction. But even as he considered the idea he wasn't sure how much he liked it. Coyotes were known for sometimes attacking small animals, she might not take kindly to that, and the last thing he'd need was another reason for her to be afraid of him when she knew the truth. He was so scared that someone so pure and beautiful as her would be repelled by finding out he was something from horror movies. The thought was on his mind more and more lately, and he knew that eventually he'd have to tell her.
He smiled as she told him that he was more than a human blanket. He wanted to be so much more than that to her. She was to him. She was his soulmate. You couldnt get any more than that. "The perk is all yours" he told her. He waited until she got into bed and chose her side, not mindng where he slept either. He turned off the light and got in beside her, slidng underneath the covers, though he knew he didnt need them.
"I dont think I'll have any trouble either" He agreed, putting his arm around her and pulling her close. "Is this okay?" He asked, making sure she was still alright with it.

Some perks were asked for, but hearing that the perk of Nash as a Human blank was always her’s made her laugh and fall into a smile. “Well then it’s a perk I want often.” she smiled as she slipped into the bed and close the side at the far side so she could still look up at him. Laying her head on the pillow she looked up at him feeling more and more relaxed at him been in her room as the night went on.
As Nash pulled her close to him Lyndal felt her body relax completely. In the darkness she felt her eyes slip closed as she heard him ask his question. “This is perfect.” she smiled letting sleep take her completely.
She wasn’t sure she was asleep, to Lyndal it didn’t feel like a dream or a nightmare. The woods were dark and scary, not like the bright green expanse that surround the Rez. These ones scream of something else. Standing in the middle of no where Lydal whirled around looking for someone, anyone to come for her. She called for Nash and Laurie, then again for Nash she needed him here. The night got darker and from the trees she saw things creeping forward, dark shadowy things making horrible noises. Turning all around, from side to side she saw them every where. “No, no get back. You’re not real.” she yelled at them, but still they advanced on her.
Again and again she scream for Nash remembering his promise to protect her. As the monsters advanced she twisted every way looking for a way out as she called out his name.

"It's yours as often as you want" Nash spoke of the perk of having him as a human blanket. If she only knew, she could have anything from him, at any time. He'd always do everything in his power to satisfy her every want and need. He hoped that he'd be sucessful in that task. He knew he'd never stop trying.
Nash smiled as she told him this was perfect. This was his idea of perfection too. Having her in his arms, closing his eyes as they both drifted off to sleep. There was nothing better. He didnt think he had been asleep very long, but he opened up his eyes as he heard his name. He looked around, at first worried that somehow his aunt and uncle had ended up coming home tonight afterall. But then he looked down at Lyndal's expression and saw the tension in her face as she let out a soft whimpering sound before saying his name again with an insistency he couldnt ignore. She was having a nightmare, and he hoped it wasn't about him.
He gently shook her arm and whispered into her ear. "Dal-ing, wake up, you're having a bad dream" He told her, trying not to scare her anymore.

Even as the monsters closed in Lyndal knew Nash must be somewhere close, she could feel him. She could also feel a scream building in the back of her throat, one she hoped would bring Nash and other help, but all she wanted was Nash. A pulling on her arm sent her eyes glancing that way she could see a pale hand pulling at her night shirt, but even as she looked at the monster she could hear Nash’s voice calling to her using her nickname that reassured her. “Nash, Nash.” She called. “Where are you?” She said her voice more desperate.
It took a few moments of blind panic for her to realize he wasn’t in her dream and that it was a dream. Pulling herself towards the voice Lyndal gasped his name again. “Nash?” She said her eyes flicking open in to the darkness of the room; her room. Turning her body quickly towards the hand that still tugged on her arm she looked into Nash’s face. “Nash.” She said again flinging herself into his arms across the very slight space between them.
Instantly feeling better in the warmth and closeness of his arms Dal tried to push away the dream, to not think about the pale hand or the growls or the monsters. “It was horrible.” She whispered into his bare chest her shoulders still tense and her face wet with tears she didn’t realize she was shedding. “The woods, monsters and pale hands grabbing at me.” She said gasping for breath and holding him tighter as he body moved closer to his.

When Nash heard his imprintee mumble his name once more in her sleep followed by asking where he was, he knew she was still lost to the nightmare. "I'm right here, wake up Dal" He said wanting to bring her back from any place of discomfort. Once she did wake she she startled with a jump and quickly grasped at him. Nash engulfed her in his arms, pulling her close in a protective manner, even if all he was protecting her from now was a bad dream. "I'm right here, it was just a dream, you're safe" He reassured her.
Nash listened to her explain about the dream, monsters in the woods, and pale hands grabbing her. He knew this was his fault. The movie, the stories, and even more, just him being a monster himself, had done this to her. "I'm so sorry, but its over, its just you and me here now" He tried to comfort her.
"I'm sorry" he repeated again. "I shouldn't have told you those legends after we had just watched the horror movie, it was too much all at once, I'm an idiot" He told her taking on full responsibility for her suffering.

Been pulled into his arms made the dream fade, but she couldn’t make it vanish. It certainly didn’t feel like a dream. Even in Nash’s hot embrace she could still feel the cold hand on her shoulder. Been in his arms she knew she was safe, it was the only place she truly felt safe. “It was a horrible nightmare.” She said her voice breaking with the fear and memory of it all. “I know I’m safe, but I was so scared and I couldn’t find you, but I knew you were close. I could feel you.” She said knowing even in her sleepy scared state it probably sounded crazy.
When he started to apologize Dal tensed again, it wasn’t his fault it was just a nightmare and an over active imagination. “I know nothing can hurt me with you here.” She smiled into his chest as he spoke. “I don’t think I can sleep again yet.” She said pulling back a little to look at him not moving out of his arms of comfort and warmth.
When he apologized again she shook her head. “No its not you’re fault. I chose the movie and I wanted to hear the legends. I’m ok. I knew you were close, I mean in my dream not just in the bed.” She said looking at him more urgently. “I could feel you Nash. I think I always can. Now I’m been an idiot.” She said with a half laugh.

Nash looked down at Lyndal as she described her fear. He reached up and brushed away some of the tears from her face, wishing to make them all go away. "I'll always be close when you need me. I promise I'll always protect you, you'll be able to find me" He assured her, knowing that he'd never leave her in harms way. He'd double back on all of his patrols, to make sure that she was safe. She was more important to him than the pack and he'd leave their rules if it meant keeping her safe.
"Its okay, you dont have to sleep yet, we can stay awake, clear your mind so you don't go right back into the bad dream" He told her, gently rubbing her back as he held her. He wanted to make sure her fears were gone when she slept again so that she'd be getting peaceful rest.
"You're not being an idiot" Nash reassured her, knowing that she was dreaming of real things, and all because he had told her some of the legends. "Dal, I can always feel you too. I know when I'm getting close to you, even before I see you or hear your voice, and I can feel when the distance gets greater. I'm attuned to you" He told her knowing he was saying too much but wondering if now was when she needed to hear it. She was already getting scared by the legends. Would they make it worse for her, knowing it was real? Or would knowing they kept the reservation safe and free from vampires offer comfort to her?

The feel of his hands on her cheeks brushing away her tears comforted her and made her smile at his gentle touch. Hearing his reassurances she smiled again. It was still an electrifying feeling hearing his declarations to always be close to her. “Thank you.” She said gently her voice still choked from the fear of the dream. Dal knew that he’d always be there for her and the truth was she wouldn’t want it any other way. She wasn’t sure how she knew, but been with him felt so natural and deep.
Sleep seemed like it would be very elusive for the rest of the night, if at all, the dream had shaken and scared her even been in Nash’s arms wasn’t completely curing the feeling. “I don’t think I could sleep even if I wanted too. Talk to me, tell me anything to drive away the nightmare.” Dal said panic still in her voice. She wanted to hear more about the protectors of the Rez and the people, but when he apologized she wasn’t sure he’d tell her any more again.
It was reassuring that he didn’t think her an idiot for her words, but it was true that she felt so close to him even when she couldn’t see him. Hearing Nash affirm that he felt it too made her smile, but she wondered if it was possible for two people to be to attune to one another as they seemed to be. “I’m in tune with you too. I’m so glad we found each other.” She said moving her whole body closer to his and snuggling into his large warm arms. Her mind spun thinking what could connect them so strongly. “Maybe we’re soul mates? Or we’re in love in our passed lives?” she said not sure if she was really joking or if she was grasping at straws to explain their connection.

"That's something that you don't have to thank me for" Nash told her softly. "It's my honor" He said with complete sincerity. He felt privileged to be able to be there for her, and have the opportunity to comfort her, to be the one that she turned to when she needed a shoulder, or someone to protect her.
"Its okay, we can just stay up all night talking. I would enjoy that just as much as sleep, maybe even more" He told her with a little smile. Every second he spent with her was enjoyable. He'd gladly give up sleep for her. He wondered what he could tell her to drive away her fears. He didnt feel like he had the magic words to say, though he wished he did. He wondered if as her imprinter he should know exactly the right things to do or say.
Nash could never think that Lyndal was an idiot, no matter what she said or did, but especially not when she was reacting to something that was very real. Her reaction was normal, and justified. He smiled holding onto her as she spoke of being in tune with him and guessing at the reason why, soul mates or past lives. "I'm glad we found each other too" He told her, knowing this was the right moment to tell her about the imprinting, he could feel it. He hoped she'd find it comforting. "Dal, we are soulmates, something that I'm absolutely positive of...there's another legend that I haven't told you about yet, and its completely true and explains what we're feeling..." He began.

Staying up all night and talking sounded great, but she knew they’d both be tired the next day something that was bound to cause suspicion with his Aunt and uncle. “We can talk more, I’d like it too. Tell me more about you and your child hood.” She prompted with a smile happy to talk with him all night just to hear more about him and his life. “Stupid nightmare.” she half laughed hoping the bravado would push it away more.
Soul mates, a few months ago Dal would have laughed at herself and though anyone else talking about such things crazy, but with Nash she honestly thought it was possible. There was nothing else to explain how attune and connected they were. Voicing it made her nervous. When Nash spoke up about it and went further she pulled back to look at him. She almost assume he’d be joking, but his face was so serious. “Soulmates are in your legends?” She asked intrigued. “Are you making fun of me Nashal?” She asked with a mock stern tone sure he must be joking with her.

Nash smiled as she agreed to stay up and talk more. "Well, I'd rather hear more about you, but okay, lets see" He said thinking of what to tell her. "Day and I have been friends since I can even remember, always as close as if he were my brother. He helped me through my parents death...a car crash when I was 11. Lived with my aunt and uncle ever since. Been a bit of a troublemaker, but I've straightened up, to someone a little closer to being worthy of your attention" He said with a smile. "What about you?"
Nash listened as Lyndal questioned him and thought he may have been making fun of her. He looked at her with complete seriousness as he shook his head. "No, I'm very serious. Its something I've been wanting to tell you for a long time, but I was scared of how you'd react" He told her honestly. "I knew from the moment we met in the airport that we were soulmates, but in the legends its called Imprinting. When the male Quileute meets his soulmate, he imprints on her, he feels it instantly and she becomes the center of his world. Everything revolves around her and making her happy, no matter what that means. He would do anything for her, an will be anythng to her she needs, a friend, brother...something more. And you get a feeling of completeness and euphoria just being near your imprintee" Nash said hoping he didnt sound crazy and that this wasn't too overwhelming. "I know it happened to me, I can still feel it as strongly as when we met. I loved you from that instant"
