Every turn of her head sent her eyes searching. She looked at the faces passing in the street. Her eyes sought out a face in the under brush and foliage. She looked for piercing red eyes in the blackest night. No matter how many times she was sure she caught his scent she never saw him and every time she looked she wanted to see him. Just a fleeting glimpse, a catching of his shadow, anything would sedate her for a few hours, maybe a few days. Anything was better then not seeing him at all.
Jayden needed to see him. It was a need almost as much as he need for blood, but this wasn’t a hunger it was a desire Jayden wasn’t sure she’d ever felt before. She found herself comparing her need to see Blake to the other men she’d liked in her life, it didn’t compare this was far greater. The need didn’t scare her, but that it was for him worried her. Jayden knew he was a traditional vampire and she knew that her human half could be in danger from him, but she still wasn’t afraid of him.
It was the need to see him and the many mistaken sightings that set Jayden off to find him. She couldn’t wait for him to come find her, she was going to seek him out.
The woods were cold, but dryer then they had been when she’d first seen him. With ease Jayden found the same path that would lead to the same part of the woods he’d found her just a few days before. With ever step she took she searched the forest listening and looking for any sign of him. The forest was full of scents and sounds that Jayden’s vampiric senses sough between, but still she caught no hint of him in the area. It was a pointless search because she knew that as a hunter he wouldn’t be found if he didn’t want to be; but she wanted him to want to be found by her.
Edging further into the forest, Jayden knew it would still be a while before she reached the sight of their first meeting. The canopy of leaves made it dark, but her eyes adjusted quickly to each shadow as she kept looking for him. Blake, she considered calling out his name anything to get his attention. Even saying his name she knew he’d hear her, but she didn’t want to seem as desperate as she felt; she needed to see him.

Blake watched her movements. They were seemingly erratic and unpredictable. Always looking around, looking for something. He wondered if she was hunting. Secretly searching out a human lost in the woods that she claimed that she had no desire to feed off of. Or perhaps he'd get to watch her with a wild beast.
It was cold out but that wasn't something that bothered him or that he even noticed, he wondered watching her if her warmer skin could tell the difference. He could tell even from the distance he maintained between them that her senses were on high. It forced him to be even more careful not to be caught, at least not until he was sure that he wanted to. Stalking wasn't necessarily seen as a good thing by all people, though he was no danger to her. She had been on his mind since they first met. Having instantly grabbed his interest. He couldnt get over even the concept of her existance. Every beat of her heart set off his greatest curiousities, as much as her beauty and wit had drawn him in during their first meeting. He knew that day he couldnt just let her walk away. He'd follow her, observe her, make sure that their paths would cross again.
As he followed slowly behind her, he couldnt help but wonder if perhaps she was headed back to the spot of their initial encounter. A smile played across his lips at the thought that she was just as interested in finding him again as he was in seeing her. He sprinted ahead, moving far enough away from her so she hopefully wouldnt see the blur of his speed and entered what he thought to be her predicted path, if in fact she was headed in the direction he thought. Once there he decided to remain still, out in a more open area of the woods, letting her find him this time, but keeping an ear out for a change in her direction should he have been wrong about her intent, so that he could continue to follow her.

Normally Jayden only ventured to this deep part of the forest to hunt, but not this time her thirst was quenched. Her thirst for blood at least, the thirst she had now was for something else. Jayden wanted to drink In the sight of Blake, she needed to see him. The need was almost as great of that of her hunger, it boarded there but a different intensity.
The chill in the air was slight, she hardly noticed the way it chilled her skin and sent her downy hair on edge. Not needing or wanting to appear completely human Jayden had done away with the large coat she normally wore in such weather. Now her arms were bare to the shoulders, the top little more then a vest, as she enjoyed the damn air on her skin. The cool and dark atmosphere of the forest did little to quell the racing emotions and feeling flowing through the hybrid as it normally did. Now here eyes darted around seeking out not only him but any sign her maybe near by or recently in this place.
Picking up her pace Jayden hurried to the spot he’d first found her, it was easy enough to find with her heightened senses. Breaking into the slight, covered opening in the woods she saw him. Jayden’s eyes caught their first sight of what she’s wanted to see since they’d last parted company. Now with him in her sights she caught his scent, natural and wild like him. He seemed relaxed in his stance and Jayden slowed her speed as she reached him remaining little more then an arms length away. “Blake.” She sighed rather then spoke his name. All her senses reached out to him her eyes never leaving him.
Now what? Jayden hadn’t thought ahead of this moment. Her only thought had been to see him and now she was seeing him and he her. Standing perfectly still she looked him over; he didn’t look different from their first meeting but some how he looked better. Jayden wondered if it was the feelings she had for him that changed her perception of him. She locked her golden eyes on his red orbs and smile, “I was just out walking….No I wasn’t.” She said starting to lie then thinking better of it. “Hi.” She smiled again.

Blake waited in the open clearing for her. His back was facing the direction he knew she'd be coming from, but he still had his senses fixed on picking up the sound of her heartbeat and her scent to know that she hadn't changed course and gone another way. Should she change direction he knew that he'd turn and go after her again. Luckily for him he knew she was coming right for him. He would let her make the first move. Whether to approach him and initiate their second contact, or to see him and go on her way.
He heard his name pass through her lips in a soft sigh. He turned around, at human speed to face her. Seeing her closer now than he had when he had been following her he was reminded of just how breathtaking she was. His memory of her had not done justice to the mysterious hybrid.
"Jayden" Blake replied, returning the smile that he saw her give, and again amazed by the gold hue to her eyes. Everything about her was unique. He gave a light chuckle as she told him she was out walking but then admitted she wasn't. "Hi" He replied. "So if you weren't out walking, what brings you to the woods...hunting or just coming to say hi?"

His turn was too slow for her, she needed to see him like she craved for the blood of the animals in the forest. If it was like this after a day she hated to think of what it would be like if she was not to see him again. The very thought of not seeing him pained her and she pushed it away. She couldn’t and wouldn’t be drawn to another man or another of her kind, both had bad reputations in her memory.
His eyes were intense, brighter and she wondered for a shocking moment if he’d recently fed. If he fed to close to town suspicion would be roused, something neither she nor the Cullens could risk.
Her name on his lips made her shiver in excitement, she wanted to touch his lips and feel them against hers. Against her neck as he’d been intent on their first meeting, the thought made her shiver again in further excitement. What was her reason? Could she be so honest with him? “I wanted to see you.” She said before her mind had decided to be honest.
She looked away slightly embarrassed by her open honesty, her hear racing in her ears sure he could hear it she dropped her eyes to the floor. “A fault of my human half; I think that half of me is tricked by the allure of the vampire.” She half laughed. Looking up she bit her bottom and lip and half smiled. “I had to know you were still here.”

Blake listened to the rhythm of Jayden's heart playing in his ears. They seemed to set the tempo to some sort of spanish dance, that picked up speed after he said her name. She was reacting to him. Maybe in fear, or anger, or excitement. That much he wasn't sure and the simple bodily reactions that she had that resembled a human couldn't tell him for sure. But her smile made him think that the latter was the stronger possibility.
He looked at her with a bit of shock as she again was so open and honest with him on her intentions, admitting that she had wanted to see him. It caused his grin to widen, wondering if she was always so bold with honesty or just with him. He really had no reason to believe there was anything particularly special about him. She was the unusual one, the unique one. He was sure she had met enough of his kind over the years that he would be far from a novelty to her. Maybe her words weren't so honest afterall, but a pleasantry, or a sarcastic comment that he had missed. " I guess you got what you wanted" He said with a light joke, as he tried to figure out what she had meant and why she would be interested in him.
The beats of the song seemed to pick up again as she turned away. He laughed as she called herself tricked by his vampiric allure. "Somehow you don't seem the type to me to be tricked by anyone or anything. Afterall you did have me fooled to thinking both your halves were human" He told her, tilting his head slighly as she said about knowing he was still here. "Did you still want me to be here? I had hoped I'd run into you again as well" He said, leaving out for now the stalking he had done to know that she was still around.

Her heart beat hammered in her own ears so she was sure Blake would be able to hear it clearly too. Her name on his lips only served to further the beat, for once she wished she was completely vampire, her heart more tell tale then any other human trait.
Her honesty surprised her and she saw, pleasantly, that he was surprised too. His grin made her question if she amused him in a way that was good or was he laughing at her? His words hurt her, to her ears they sounded sarcastic and empty. “Perhaps not.” She replied in the same tone. Was her tired with her? Did he not want to see her as she wanted - no needed - to see him? This vampire was the first male, human or otherwise, she had let herself feel for since Caleb, yet her feelings for Blake were already far greater then those she’d felt for the human. “and what is it you wanted?” she questioned him again surprising herself with her boldness.
Oh she wasn’t tricked, just allured by him. To her he was fascinating and not just because he was a vampire or a nomad, she was intensely interested in him for who he truly was. “On my part there was no trickery.” She smiled teasingly, “And isn’t it the trait of a vampire to trick one’s prey into the allure, so it was only natural my human half would be fall for your allure.” She smiled bashfully admitting almost that she had been lured by him, vampire trait or not.
When he tilted his head Jayden watched him, his skin glistening in the breaking sun light making him more breath taxingly beautiful then she’d ever seen. “I would like you to often be here.” She said honestly again, though this time it was a more reserved answer then she truly felt. Had she spoken freely she would have said she never wanted to find him gone. “Then it is a fortunate meeting.” She smiled steeping towards him again wanting to be near him, even the slight distance was hard.

Jayden's response to his words stung and caused a bit of anger. Was she mocking him? Wishing that he were gone so the very sight of him was something distasteful to her. His look turned a bit colder as his face took a more neutral stance. "What I wanted? You're the one who came up to me. Maybe all I wanted was another meal" He told her, despite the fact that he had been following her before giving her the opportunity to find him.
Despite the momentary coldness he felt from the insecurity of her reactions, that teasing smile drew him in once more, reminding him of the reasons he had been trailing after her. Why he couldn't stop thinking about the hybrid and wanting to understand her even more. "Your vampire half must have been laughing at the trick your other half produced...I certainly believed you were edible" He said, now allowing himself to smile lightheartedly once more. He nodded as she spoke of his own trait to allure his prey, looking deep into her eyes as he had with his prey before, to lure them to a more secluded location. "So what am I luring you to do, to find me? To trust me? "
Blake hadn't been expecting her answer. Both the honesty of it and the content itself. She wanted him here, as he wanted her to be there. "It is a fortunate meeting...I would like you to be here as well. I didn't like the idea that you may have decided to run off and disappeared"

Their second meeting was as cryptic and spark filled as their first, both of their retorts seemed to spark off a different emotion within the other. Now Jayden wasn’t sure if he wanted her there, or if she should have sought him out as she had. “Is it not what you wanted? For me to come find you? To give you the chance of a meal?” She teased gently with a smile hopeful she could break the tension their words seemed to be creating in the clearing. “I doubt you’d like how I taste. Do you even thirst for me?” She asked openly curious as to whether her scent gave him the same feelings as that of a human, or an animal for her.
Feeling the tension ebb away Jayden laughed lightly, her voice like a peel of light bells, as his comment of her fractured halves. “I’m not sure my vampire half has much of a sense of humor for the trickery of my human half.” She said with a twinkle as she looked at him. He brought out her brightness, her want to smile and be closer to him. When he smiled she felt her own smile grow in return watching how the glistening light danced on his cheek bones as they rose in the action. When his blood red eyes looked into her’s she knew then how a vampire’s prey could be totally helpless, she was drawn to him feeling herself step towards him again. “I found you so that was certainly part of the allure. And does my Vampire lure work on you, or are you immune?” She asked without taking her eyes from him though she avoided the aspect of trust; that was something she was certainly at a loss with.
“This is my home, well the town is I live in a house on the edge of the woods. Where would I go? Except to find you.” She said so honestly that the words fell from her lips without any hesitation. Falling silent she bit her bottom lip letting his own answer sink into her mind; he wanted her there as well. Taking another step to him she found herself millimeters from his body, his scent was stronger now natural and animalistic; filled with the desire she felt for him. She remembered been pressed to his body before and wanted it again. “I was afraid you’d have moved on, that’s what Nomads do isn’t it?” she asked unsure of her words but sure how that result would have made her feel; empty.

"I've already ruled you out as a meal, at least for now" Blake said, having not really considered it since finding out what she was, but now wondering just exactly if she would even suffice as a meal. Would there be a difference between her and a human's blood? Would it be dangerous for him to feed off of someone who was a half vampire? The blood itself could be like poison for all he knew, but the beating heart made him think that part of her was human. Perhaps he should have just tried it when he first met her, if she was a meal he wouldn't have had to deal with any of this. However he knew there was a strong reason why he didn't want to kill her. "Your scent is very appealing...but you don't cause the driving thirst that would make it impossible to be with you this long without knowing I'd be feeding soon"
"Your vampire half is quite a bore then" He gave her a smirk as she said how it didn't seem to have a sense of humor. "At least the rest of you seems to have at least some sense of humor" He said wondering if it really was two sides of her at war. Two fighting personalities, two sets of desires. Or if she was just one person with a bit of messsed up biology. As he looked into her eyes, attempting to give her a taste of the lure he'd use against the prey and wondering how much it actually worked on her, he was a bit taken in himself by how beautiful her eyes were. He smiled as she said part of his lure worked on her and wondered how hers was working. "I believe I'm immune to your vampire lure...but your feminine lure, not sure any man can resist that" He flirted with her, keeping their strong eyecontact a moment longer, before breaking it off with a wink.
"You live near town" Blake repeated a bit surprised that it was even possible. "Are you with a coven?" He asked, wondering if she had a group she stayed with and that was why she was in one location, but being so close to the population seemed dangerous. "I'm glad you did find me" He told her gently. "Maybe, I was finding you as well..." He admitted. He heard her voice her concern that he would have moved on, being a nomad. "I just met you...I wasn't ready to move on, leaving didn't interest me as much as you did"

She didn’t fear Blake, Jayden wasn’t sure she ever could. She knew he was stronger than her both as a male and as a full blooded vampire, but she also knew he wasn’t a threat to her. “Do you want to be with me for long?” she asked daringly. Jayden didn’t know where the urge for an answer came from or the drive that pushed her to ask, yet she did ask it. Looking up at him she stammered, “Erm, you don’t…you don’t have to answer that.’ She said a little afraid of a negative answer when she wanted so much to be with him. “Will you feed soon?” She asked searching his eyes wondering if she blackened as hers darkened with a desire for blood.
“My vampire half is a little more reserved, though its bite is certainly worst then my human half’s bark.” She smirked back enjoying the banter with him as they stood apart in the woods. It was his wit that drew her in as much as his allure. She was still certain his vampire allure was attracting her human side as much as her vampire side craved him as a mate, a fact she wasn’t sure she was ready to admit to herself yet. As he spoke of her feminine lure she smiled. “I’m not immune to yours, but I’m glad my femine lure works at least.” She didn’t mind admitting to him that she was lure by him. In every possible way she was attracted to him. Holding his eye contact she only broke when he winked herself falling into a light laugh but still looking at him.
When he asked about a coven she straightened a little. “No, I’m alone though I have friends close by that are a coven.” She said pointing out the fact that others were in the area, she’d told Edward about Blake; perhaps it was right to share the information. “They know you’re in the area.” She said carefully, “But they wont do anything.” She informed him. Even as she said the words Jayden hoped he wouldn’t bolt, if he left she knew she’d be driven to follow him. There was something about him that she had to have in her life. “You are searching for me?” She asked awed that he would seek her out. “You interest me too.” She’d closed the gap between them in a blink of an eye, toe to toe now she could catch his scent raw mixed with human blood; Blake. “I’m not ready for you to leave yet, don’t go.’ She said her voice almost a whisper, her lips moving so quick she doubted any human would have known she’d even spoken.
