Character Basics
Name:Katherine Morgan
Nickname: Kathy, Kat
Age:22
Appearance
Looks: Katherine is a rather petite woman with a small frame, looking very delicate. She has long light brown hair, that has some waves in it. Her skin is rather fair as she'd never think to purposely go tanning and the only sun she gets is from going on walks. She usually has a shy timid look on her face and frequently wears sunglasses to block out the bright lights and red colors around her that would trigger her outbursts.
Scars, tattoos, other marks:none
Portrayed by: Amy Acker
Personality and Stats
Basic Personality: Katherine's personality is ruled by her disease; Autism Spectrum Disorder. She is extremely intelligent and great with numbers, and calculations, as well as able to remember facts many people would forget. However she lacks in many social and communication skills. She's extremely quiet and introverted to the point where she doesnt look most people in the eyes. She doesnt to talk to many people, and when she does its usually in small short sentences until she knows and trusts the person (her parents she can hold short conversations with).
She has trouble recognizing things like sarcasm because her mind interprets everything literally. She also is truthful to a fault because she doesnt understand the concept of lying, though she's learned that people do it. She also has a hard time interpreting emotional expressions and had to learn as a child what different facial expressions meant (such as happy or sad), although since this differs by person it can take her awhile to adjust.
Her brain interprets the world differently so there are things that she cannot stand because it puts her mind into overdrive and overwhelms her. Loud sounds, bright lights, crowds, physical touch and the color red are amongst a few of these things, but any stressful situation can also push her to the point of a meltdown where she can get almost to the point of being unresponsive and catatonic.

History:
Birthplace:Seattle, Washington

History:
Katherine's mother had a normal pregnancy with her first and only child. She was born a healthy, happy baby and appeared as such until she was 3 years old. Then there was a drastic change that occured, almost as if a light switch was flipped off. Katherine avoided all eye contact and would cry. She didnt behave like other children her age should. She never reached the same social milestones, always picking solitary play to anything involving other people. She was diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder.
The diagnosis changed Katherine's life and her parents. By the time she was 6 years old, they knew that they had to leave Seattle, the big city being horrible at setting off Katherine's triggers. They knew she needed someplace small and quiet to live and moved to Forks.
Katherine had a tutor until she started high school at which time her doctors suggested her parents enroll her in school, to try to help her with some increased social skills. She had been doing well the few years before, as her parents had gotten her a golden retriever as a pet, having heard of the work animals can do in helping children with autism. The dog was one of the only ones who could make her smile and the one she'd look at and even embrace, something she had difficulty allowing her parents to do for very long periods of time, being sensitive to touch.
High school was difficult for her, even when she was placed in smaller classes and allowed to leave class early to avoid the crowded hallways. The kids teased her constantly, though she excelled in all of her classes (except gym which she was excused from). During her senior year though she had a relapse. Her dog passed away, and she wasn't able to deal with the loss. She regressed and stopped talking again for awhile, forcing her parents to pull her out of school. She managed to graduate through private tutoring (only able to focus on her schoolwork not any of her social skills).
She eventually took online college courses and got her degree in accounting having a love for numbers. She currently lives at home with her parents and works online as an accountant.
