Basic Personality: Evangeline (Eve) has a very bubbly sweet natured personality—well as sweet natured as a vampire can be. She loves to smile, and is constantly trying to get others around her smiling; whether by telling jokes or just being her happy, bouncy, sarcastic self. When she believes in something passionately she can be very stubborn about it, her stubbornness is so bad that it’s gotten her into a few sticky situations. History:
Birthplace: Avignon, France.
Family: None Living
Friends: She has a couple people she considers close friends.
It was a warm night in the beautiful town of Avignon France. Lord Phillip Badeau paced nervously outside his wife’s bedchamber door. His wife had been in labor with there child for three long hard days, three long hard days of screaming, crying, and cursing. And every time he heard his wife screams of agony he would mumble under his breath “I won’t ever touch her again.” Those three days were very touch and go, the doctor and midwife feared that there lords wife would die, taking the unborn child with her. They were fears they now kept to themselves, their lord had already given them a sever tongue lashing for even suggesting that his strong beautiful wife was not going to make it through the delivery. Phillip had just about given up when the wonderful sound of a baby’s cry pierced his ears. He burst into there chamber, and rushed over to his wife side. His beautiful Audrey smiled up at him and told him in French that they had been blessed with a beautiful daughter. The happy couple named their beautiful bundle of joy Evangeline Gabriella Badeau.
Evangeline and her parents lived in the heart of the city, and even though they carried a title, lived in a rather modest home. Evangeline’s Father owned one of the best bakeries in all of Avignon, her father had had to open it after he learned the title he had inherited was nothing more than a title, her late grandfather had had a terrible gambling problem and had left his son with a heavy amount of debt and an empty title. So in order to keep his wife, and his unborn child well taken care of he opened a bakery. The bakery soon became one of the best bakeries in Avignon, word quickly spread about her fathers bakers and people began traveling from far and wide to buy a loaf of bread, or one of their delicious pastries. The bakery thrived, and he was able to pay of his fathers debts, he was also able to make the title his forefathers held worth something again.
Evangeline led a happy life, she was very mischievous as a child, her mischievousness often earned her a thump to the ear by her mama. But her little adventures she had were always worth mama’s thump. She had a very creative imagination, and would often spend hours battling dragons, and defeating the dark nights. Even though she had her imagination, and her made up friends, Evangeline was very lonely, she wanted some one to play with so when she was old enough to ask, she asked her mother and father why she couldn’t have any brothers and sisters. Her parents sat her down and told her the story of her birth, being only 4 she couldn’t understand why they couldn’t just giver her a little brother or sister. She of course didn’t know that her parents had left out a very crucial detail; that serious damages had been done during the three days Audrey had been in labor with Evangeline, leaving her unable to have any more children.
.
Life passed by fast for Evangeline, by the age of 15 she was working in her Father’s bakery—secrelty of course, it was terribly improper for a woman of noble birth to work. When she did she helped kneed doe, baking pastries, and helping with what ever the customer needed. She didn’t complain like most girls her age would have, she loved helping her family, Evangeline had become very close to her mother and father, they were her best friends. she knew several girls her age who weren’t very close with there parents . Evangeline often thought that was because most of the girls who were her friends had siblings they could be close to. She still wished desperately that her parent could have children, Eve felt terrible when she found out from one of the maidservants—who had and excessive need to gossip. That she was the reason her mother couldn’t give her father the son he wanted. Eve wasn’t angry at her father for wanting another child, she understood. she knew her father loved her very much, but knew he wanted a son to pass the title too.
At the age of 18 her parents got the shock of there lives, by some miracle, her mother and father had conceived a child. Evangeline was so happy, she would finally have a brother or sister, and her father would hopefully have his son. She didn’t care that she would be quite older than her brother or sister, she was just happy she was getting one. She didn’t know who she was happier for her parents or her self, she hadn’t complete ruined her mothers chances. The fallowing months after her mother found out she was pregnant were spent on pins and needles, the doctor told her mother that there was still a risk that she could loose the baby. So most of her mother’s pregnancy was spent with her in her bed she wasn't happy about that fact. And her father was an absolute nervous wreck.
Nine months later her parents were blessed with a little boy, Alexandre Francis Badeau. Her little brothers delivery had been a breeze and her mother was fine, well at least that’s what she’d been told. She hadn’t been permitted to enter the delivery room, it just wasn't the kind of thing you did back then. Evangeline fell in love with her brother the minute she clapped eyes on him, he was beautiful—but then again she'd never seen an ugly baby. She often helped her mother when she needed it, whether it was bathing him, rocking him to sleep, or just playing with him. She loved her little brother so much, she couldn’t wait for him to start walking and talking and running around. So she could chase him pretending to be the tickle monster. Life was good, life was simple. Evangeline was happy and she didn’t think that life could get any better. But of course life has a way of biting you in the ass. Life as Eve knew it would soon come to a screeching and Cataclysmic end.
It was a night just like the one she had come into this world on, and a few months away from her 20th birthday, the full moon hung brightly in the sky, lighting the dark night up like a beacon of hope. Eve was taking care of her sick aunt, her mother wasn’t at the point where she wanted to leave her son so Eve had volunteered to go. It was the first time she’d ever been a way from home by her self. She had gone into town to grab a few things for her aunt and was walking back through the luberon forest. She was humming her favorite song "Sur le pont d’Avignon" a song about the beautiful bridge in Avignon. She had just finished the song when she heard a defining snap of dead tree branches directly behind her. She turned just in time to see the wolf launch its massive form at her. She screamed out, she knew it was pointless she was too far away from both the village and her aunts cottage. Eve felt everything, every time the wolf's teeth sank into her flesh, every claw mark—everything. After several agonizing minutes she was finally able to hear the ferocious snarl over her piercing screams. Before she knew it the wolf's form was ripped off of her broken body. Sob’s racked Evangeline’s body, she knew she was dying—the pain that was racking her body was nothing compared to the agonizing pain that was building in her heart. She would never see her family again, she would never again feel the love, laughter, and happiness her family made her feel. Through her anguished sobs she heard a voice whisper “Eve my dear it will be over quite soon” She didn't know who the man was or how he knew her name, She also didn’t like the slight hard edge she hear in the mans voice. She tried to pull away from him but her broken body wouldn't respond. Darkness was slowly starting to pull her under she felt her world rock back and forth. She heard the man croon "You smell so good, those few hours of waiting was long enough. But i think the wait is going to make this even better than i thought it could have been. Stalking you was the most exhilarating thing I've ever done. " he growled "I am sorry that mongrel got to you before i did" his voice hardened even further.
Eve wanted to scream, she wanted to run away from this monster as fast as she could but she couldn't. All she could feel was the agonizing pain and the darkness that was clawing it's way up her throat. She closed her eyes and croaked out her last word “please...my...family....” the words died in her throat She heard the mans deep chuckle, before the darkness pulled her under.
She passed out before she knew what her fate would soon be, she woke several hours later to a horrible sensation. She felt like her entire body was on fire, like some one had doused her in gasoline and thrown a match on her. She didn’t know how many times over the next few days she’d screamed for death, her please always going unanswered. Finally after fighting at what seemed like the gates of hell, the pain began to fade slowly, like some one was pouring cooling water over her body. Finally on the third day she felt nothing, blissfully nothing. Eve knew she had changed some how, she could feel it when she touched her skin, or when she moved, she could feel the raw power that was coursing through her veins. She could also feel it in her throat, it was a raw burning sensation, like she'd gone 7 years with out water, the craving for blood was overpowering. She soon found her self in the village killing at random, who ever crossed her path . The bloodlust was so strong, and it scared her. Evangeline new that she could never see her family again, she knew that they wouldn’t understand and that she wouldn’t put them at risk because of her selfish need to see them. So she watched them from afar, protecting them when they needed protecting—but always from afar.
Eve had a hard time coping with her new transformation at first. She did enjoy the speed, agility, and gracefulness that came along with her new body. however what she didn’t like and what she battled with was the burning desire for human blood. But after going an hour or two with out food--she let her new urges take over she hunted. Natural instincts took over, the raw power coursing through her body, made every atom of her body tingle in response. As she stalked her pray she felt like a lioness stalking a heard of a zebras. This new raw power was nothing like she had ever felt before. It was exhilarating. After her first successful attempt at hunting she never looked back. She embraced who she was with open arms.
Eve only stayed in France for a few years, she found it too hard being this close to her family and not being able to see them. When she left Her little brother was 10 and looked just like her dad. She knew from several of the villagers that her parents hadn't given up hope of her coming home. Eve soon found her self in India, the country was beautiful, it was unlike anything she’d ever seen before. Everything had so much color and life, everything from the people, food, the clothing, to the buildings. Her senses were overloaded she couldn't take the country in fast enough. She met so many fabulous people there, and even some vampires like her self. She realized quickly that a lot of her kind were generally downer, and they judged her for her distaste at taking a human life. It was in India that she learned to control her thirst a little better and it was also there in this beautiful country that she came to terms. She had wondered into one of the Hindu temples after one of her late night feedings. She had loved the building and wanted to see it from the inside. She removed her shoes by the door, carrying them in, she had been in India long enough to learn a little bit about the culture. It was there she met a very nice man who she talked with for hours, he helped her to understand that she was who she was and couldn’t change that—she of course didn't tell him what she was. She soon came to grips with who she was, feeding was a part who she was, just like the speed was.
She soon moved on from India, she’d spent 60 years in India but after 60 years she ran out of things too see and soon grew bored. She moved on to china and then Japan, China and Japan were so different then India, the culture, the rules, the propriety. Japan artistically was her favorite, there were just so many rules stories, poems, drawings, statues of love, war, and prosperity. It was in both places that she studied several forms of martial arts in. She loved martial arts, she loved the fact that she felt like she was dancing at times instead of fighting an opponent there was something so graceful about the art. she also discovered her love for weapons, it was in china that she discover her Shuriken, also known as throwing stars, she trained in the art of throwing them for several years—becoming very deadly with them. After china and Japan, she visited Russia, England, Scotland, Africa, Germany, and Austria—never staying in one spot for too long. Eve knew that she was just running from her pain.
After years of running Eve soon found her self back in France, it had been so long. She knew that her mother, father, and her brother had long since been dead. But she wanted to see if there were any surviving members to her family. She soon learned that, her father had been working in the bakery late one night, taking inventory, when some one broke in, he was found the next morning a bullet in his head. Her brother had drowned when he was 19, he had tipped off the boat hitting his head on one of the rocks at the bottom of the lake. He washed up on sore three days later, her mother died a week later of what many of the villagers said was nothing more then a broken heart. There were no surviving member of her family, no nieces, no grandchildren, nothing, she was the only one left—and even she was dead. She didn’t stay long in France, she left just as quickly as she’d come running away from all the memories, like a child running from her nightmares. She then made the long trek to America, the boat ride was unbearable, several days trapped in the cargo area was not her idea of luxury. She stayed in America and enjoyed the roaring 20’s, where woman embraced there woman hood, and learned to use what god had given them. She lived through the romance of the 30’s, where she fell in love black in white films. And then the pain and heartache of the 40’s after pearl harbor was attacked and the Americans went to war for the second time
After the 40’s she left America for Italy, she spent quite a bit of time in volterra, with the other vampires. It wasn’t her favorite place, the vampires were ever more judgmental now that they knew she didn’t kill humans. For the most part she ignored there snide comments, and when a vampire stepped out of line, she solved it by slamming there face into a wall a few times. Volterra was nothing more then a way to take the edge off of her boredom. Eve’s life had grown bored as of late, she had no really close friends to speak of, and there still was a gaping hole where her family had been ripped out. Eve was looking for something more. She was looking for a family, her prayers were some what answered. Eve had met Letty shortly after she had arrived in volterra in the sparing arena, Eve had been in her normal place—sitting against the wall watching the other vampires fight—she always watched a few matches before she participated. Every one knew that so no one made any more attempts at trying to get her to fight when she wasn’t ready. So when she'd finally stepped into the ring, Letty pounced on it like a fat kid in a candy store. By the time they’d finished sparing they were both laughing hysterically— and strangely enough like sister. Even though now had her sister she still longed for more of a family.
To this day Eve has no idea who the vampire was in the forest, she has searched for him for 319 years but because she has no idea what he looks like—and the only thing she has to go by is his deep menacing velvety voice her search hasn’t turned up any results.
