History:
It was a beautiful Spring day in Edinburgh Scotland, when Mara Devina Innes-Ker-McBain was born, her mother Ellya Galgachus felt like she was on cloud nine with when she looked at her precious daughter She whispered to the little girl “I’ll shall call you Mara” Ellya was not sad that Mara’s father couldn’t be there—in fact she was quite happy The Duke of Roxburghe; Guy Innes-Ker did not know that there one night of passion had blessed Ellya with the most precious gift she had ever received. And she wanted him to stay in the dark, she didn’t want her daughters face plastered all over the front page of the newspaper—nor did she want her daughter be called Innes-ker’s bastard. Ellya made sure that her beautiful daughter never noticed that she was missing a father.
Her mother met her Step father when Mara was just a year old—it was love at first sight. Three years later they welcomed a set of twins into their family. Ian and Brendan, Mara was thrilled she finally had siblings who she could play with—and who she could call her own. The welcomed Anora two years after her brothers were born.
On her ninth birthday Mara found out two things that almost ripped her in two. The first being that her father Alec—a doctor— was informed that he was being transferred to an office in Paris, and the second crushed her in more ways than she can count. Mara found out that Alec wasn’t her real father that her father was the Guy Innes-Ker. Mara world had been flipped, twisted, and jerked all around, she didn’t want to leave she loved every part of her home and wasn’t ready to leave—but on top of that her real father didn’t know about her and probably wanted nothing to do with it. It was a lot to handle for a nine year old, but she pulled the pieces of her self back together and accepted that she was the bastard daughter of a duke and that no matter what Alec, he was still her father—and that she would have to leave her home. So her and her family packed them selves up and left.
Mara liked Paris well enough—she loved the history that surrounded the city, the smells, and the essence of the city. And even though she was surrounded by this the beautiful architectural city, she missed her Scotland—she missed the green rolling hills, and the smells, the beautiful lush forests, the history, and her friends. She would have done anything to go back—including begging on hand and knee. But in doing so would mean that her father would have to give up his new promotion, and a new job he loved—and that was something she wasn’t willing to jeopardize purely for her selfish reason .
Four years later her father was transferred again to a New York hospital . Mara quickly found out that New York was no Paris—the touristy draw that enticed most people to visit the city wore off on Mara in a matter of weeks. She soon found the city to be loud, dirty, and sometimes rude. At this point Mara didn’t care where she was as long as it wasn’t in New York. Unfortunately she didn’t get her wish until her junior year of highs school--three years late, when her father was offered one last transfer to a little town on the cost of Washington. Her father had another hard decision to make for his family he could keep living here in the over crowded city or he could move to the small town and take a pay cut. It didn’t take much for her father to decide to go with option two, he knew how much his daughter, and wife longed to leave New York. So the McBain household would move one last time—to the beautiful town of Forks Washington.
