*deep breath* [tag Matt, Laurie, Leo, Isabelle, Will, Jack, Rory]
Waving goodbye from the doorway, Taz watched as her father drove out of sight around the corner before turning and running full speed back to the kitchen, slamming the door behind her. Skidding across the tiles on the small rug that lay by the door, she grabbed the edge of the counter to stop herself, her eyes already jumping to the next task at hand. Food, and lots of it. Jalapeno poppers, potato skins, brownies and cookies, among many other things, were arranged on a multitude of plates on the countertops, ready to join the bowl of punch and various bottles and glasses on the sideboard in the living room. For the first time in years, she was actually grateful her mother had insisted on keeping the old piece of furniture. They had rarely used it apart from as a storage area for barely-used items but now that she had actually decided to have a party for the first time in her life, it was coming into its own.
Grabbing two of the platters, she made her way carefully into the living room and set them gingerly on the sideboard, her fingertips running over the decorative waterproof tablecloth she’d taken to covering it with in case of spills. It had been her mother’s favourite piece of furniture and it seemed slightly comical that it now housed the small stash of alcohol Will had provided for the party, considering she had never even touched the stuff until her mother had died. It seemed like a lifetime ago that her life had changed almost completely. In the space of a couple of weeks, she had lost her mother and her best friends and gained a boyfriend and things had never been the same since. Sure, she and Matt had somewhat made up, they could stand to be around each other, but the old sisterly friendship was long gone. Leo was worse. He simply couldn’t forgive her for staying with Rory after she had found out about the way he had treated Matt, no matter how many times she had tried to explain things. Rowe was a good guy deep down, he just had a temper. Of course, he hadn’t helped matters by keeping his condition a secret. If Matt and Leo had known about his manic depression, things might have gone slightly differently. Granted, they probably would still have been just as mad, and she wouldn’t have blamed them in the slightest, but they might have been more likely to forgive him, or at least her. He had never harmed her, never even come close. All she had ever seen was the good side, apart from the occasional mild tantrum when he forgot or refused his medication, but that was never anything major.
Running back to the kitchen, she grabbed the last two platters and carried them through to the living room before dashing upstairs. She didn’t have long before her guests arrived and she didn’t want to be caught half-naked. All her friends knew that there was one unwritten rule in the Moytoy household: if someone knew you were coming, knocking was unnecessary. Heck, most of the time even if a guest wasn’t expected, they were more than welcome to simply wander in. Now she had roughly 15 minutes to change and make herself look decent before people started walking in the door and she wanted to be ready to greet them.
Quickly stripping off her jeans and tshirt, she yanked open the closet door and reached for the outfit she had set aside for the evening. Normally, she would’ve simply stuck with the outfit she had just tossed on the floor but she had an ulterior motive to the party. She had invited all the close friends she had – Will, Leo, Matt and of course Rory – with the usual ‘bring a friend’ tacked onto the end to increase the population. She was hoping that perhaps after tonight, once they had seen just how Rory could be with Will and her, Leo and Matt might realise that he wasn’t really a bad guy after all. With that in mind, she had opted for the safest decision to stay in Matt’s good books, picking out an outfit they had shopped for together on her birthday a year ago in the hopes that the willingness to even dress up for the party might act as a peace offering. Quickly slipping into the frilly black mini skirt, she grimaced at her reflection before yanking the dark brown gypsy top over her head. “The things I do for our friendship. You sure as heck better forgive me after this, Matt Stone” she muttered to herself as she plucked the silver wolf pendant necklace off her dressing table and fastened it around her neck. “Leo too” she added with a grumble. She had no idea why but for some reason, the necklace always reminded her of him. Perhaps because she had gone through a phase of wolf-mania around the time she had met him. Either that, or perhaps the fierce way he had defended Matt after the fight.
Sighing, she shuffled to the bathroom, swiping on a touch of lip gloss and eyeshadow before pulling a comb through her hair. She skipped down the stairs, grabbing the stereo remote from the table in the hall and switching the stereo on, turning up the volume to an acceptable, but enjoyable, level and grinning. Music always cheered her up and she couldn’t help the trademark bounce in her step as she headed for the kitchen again, running through the checklist of things she had needed to prepare. Everything seemed to be ready so she headed back to the living room, sinking into the sofa and resting her feet on the massive wood coffee table that stood in the centre of the room as she waited for her guests to arrive.

Jack laughed as he pulled away from his boyfriend once more, his blue shirt hanging open over his chest, but he allowed himself to lean in briefly to give Will a last kiss. For now. This monogamous thing was actually really working out well for them, or at least it seemed to be to Jack. There was something to be said for waking up with the same person you got into bed with and there was definitely no deadening of their sexual appetite for each other. Which, right now was proving a problem. He promised himself that he wouldn’t allow this last kiss to get too playful between them, and yet all the right, or maybe wrong, urges were there. He pulled away once more, his blue eyes twinkling with pent up desire that he knew he didn’t have time to exercise just then.
“Will, you’ll be the death of me, you know that?” he said, breathily as he forced himself to pull his black trousers on over his boxers. He knew that his military style would probably be too outdated for the young people at this party, but he had to say that he really didn’t care. He continued to pull his characteristic braces over his shoulders and finally his greatcoat over the top. He then threaded his fingers through the small peak of his hair and turned to his boyfriend. “Okay, I’m as beautiful as I’ll ever be – you ready to go and rock you friend’s world?”
He shot the other man a cheeky grin and winked, waiting to see if he was ready to go too. He wasn’t entirely certain of what this party was going to be like, knowing there was some long, convoluted reason for its existence, but still a party was a party. Although he no longer used these events as a pulling opportunity, he still enjoyed a chance to cut loose in public with the man that he loved. Jack also wasn’t entirely sure of the legal situation, being relatively certain that there would be underage drinking involved, but he also didn’t want to know the details. He knew it would damage his reputation as an officer of the law to be caught in such a situation, but sometimes needs must, and that night needs must get them both happily drunk enough to have a great time.

Matt stood taking deep breaths in front of the bathroom mirror, her nerves on tender hooks as she looked at her reflection. To be brutally honest she really didn’t care what she looked like, but as she stared at herself she desperately attempted to psyche herself up for this. She had stood like this for a full ten minutes, almost paralysed – she had barely registered the knock at the door and she certainly hadn’t linked it with her boyfriend’s arrival. Even she couldn’t understand why she was considering this party to be so direly overwhelming. Maybe it was because she would have to face Rory in a close environment again, or maybe it was because this would really be the decider for her and Taz’s friendship. She knew the other girl had made the effort by throwing this party, but what if she wasn’t big enough to meet her in the middle?
She swallowed hard, smoothing her dark hair down, even though its natural straightness negated any need to do so at all. Enough time wasting, this thing would go down either one way or another and she knew that she should just stop fretting about it and get on with it. Thus, she turned on her heel, her comfortable jeans and halter top turning with her without restriction and padded her way downstairs (maybe the outfit wasn’t exactly party material, but she would take any amount of extra comfort she could get at this late stage). She jogged her way down the stairs to join the others, placing a somewhat faux happy expression on her face. She knew that both Leo and Laurie were concerned for her and she didn’t want them to worry any further. She knew that once she was there she would be fine, no two people were more able to reassure her than her boyfriend and her brother; it was just all this build up that was making her stomach churn.
“All ready?” she asked, as brightly as she could manage, her dark eyes travelling around the room. They eventually settled upon her blond doctor, and she skipped over to him to claim her greeting hug. She was still a little shy about claiming the affection of the man that she left so much for, but at the same time it had become essential to her. She cast up a small smile at him, much more genuine in his presence. “Hello…”
She already wanted to thank him profusely for agreeing to escort, for she knew that he felt that Rory deserved no leniency. Her point of focus switched to her brother, accompanied, as ever, with his girlfriend, and who was also unhappy with the entire situation. She was so lucky to have these people around her that cared about her, and she just hoped that they could have a good time despite everything.

Taz had only been sitting on the sofa for a couple of minutes, nervously drumming her fingers on her knee, when she suddenly remembered the one thing she had forgotten about completely in her rush to get ready. Admittedly, it was easy to forget things when you were angsting about an upcoming evening in which you were expecting two groups of almost polar opposites to spend time in a room together without an eruption that could put Mount St Helens to shame, but this was one thing she definitely shouldn’t have forgotten.
Pushing herself to her feet, she padded to the back door, her bare feet barely making a sound on the carpet. Sliding open the French door, she leaned her head out, half-prepared for a snide remark at having left Rory outside alone for so long. She had totally forgotten he was there in the rush to say goodbye to her father and prepare for the party. Now, she smiled as she saw him on the phone, beer in hand, ever the professional even as he relaxed before the party. He was always on the phone, or at least hand one to hand, in case he was ever needed at the club, and she wasn’t surprised to see that the same was true now.
Slipping out the door, one hand still on the frame, she grinned sheepishly, giving him a shy wave with her spare hand as she waited to see his reaction, both to her having forgotten he was there and her unusually girly outfit. She felt barely dressed in the tiny skirt and low-cut top, and she just hoped it was worth it. Although she had chosen the outfit mainly for nostalgic reasons, she had an ulterior motive as well. Rory was making an effort tonight, especially considering the fact that he was going to have to spend the evening with enemies, an ex and friends with sexual preferences that left her giggling at his horrified reactions at their false advances. The least she could do was give him a little something in return, and the best thing she could think of was something to provide a distraction if his temper began to get the better of him. Tiptoeing closer, she stopped just far enough was from him to avoid interrupting his conversation, mouthing a quick hi as she lifted herself up to sit on the deck railing, waiting patiently for him to finish his call.

Rory took a deep breath, and swallowed down his medication with one large gulp of his beer. He wasn’t sure how the two would mix, but he really wasn’t thinking about it. He still couldn’t believe he’d agreed to any of this. He could be home, playing some Madden until it was time to head to the club and complete his shift. Instead, he was here, staring through the cover of trees, waiting for a bunch of people he wanted to piss on to show up.
He slid the blackberry out from his pocket and punched in a few numbers rather hastily. What on earth was he thinking? What could Taz want with him? Did she want to see him flip, was she really that twisted? The phone rung, and he took another exasperated breath, looking down to his brightly colored, perfectly matched sneakers. Caresse had somehow gotten the bachelor to be loyal for the longest he’d ever been, she’d also gotten him to take the medication prescribed to him, well, most days. He really didn’t think he needed it. But, today he could use a valium or two to keep himself from kicking someone’s teeth out.
He could feel a fresh flurry of molten hot anger course through his veins at the single thought of Matt’s brother. Dude was lanky, but somehow, the force in which the kid could hit was like being hit by a truck. A regular Bruce Lee, it pissed him off, as the first fight he’d lost without being stabbed. And now, he was going to have to act civil round him, yeah it was definite. Taz hated him and the whole damn thing was a set up. The only person or persons he could actually bear chilling with were both queers. What had he gotten himself into?
The male voice on the other end was a recording and he spoke quickly in an attempt to make his point heard and get off the phone. He wanted to punch the tree that seemed to be staring at him, the random one that stood apart from the others.
Rowe heard the door open and looked over his shoulder to find his girlfriend looking at him. His eyes trailed the length of her, taking in all of the attributes that forced him to be nice. He remembered the night before, and stared with a smirk at the low cut shirt. Yup, it was official she knew how to trick him, now he knew why he was here, ready to try being civilized to a group of wimpy little prudes.
He pressed a button on the square like phone at the end of his lengthy voicemail message, and slipped the phone back into his pants pocket. “You know baby, next time you think of putting me in the same room as those people you better be coming home to me with,” he looked to her legs, “no skirt, yeah that sounds good.” He laughed and slid his arms around her waist kissing her passionately. Before breaking away and giving her hips a tug, helping her off the railing and onto her feet. “Seriously though, leave me alone with them, and I can‘t promise anything,” he said with a serious tone.
He cupped her face in his hands, still unsure of how she had gotten him t go through with the whole thing. “Come on,” he grinned, and let his fingers trail down her side to hold her hand. “I need another beer.”

Isabelle tugged at the hem of her jean skirt. She felt a little naked, but she was sure Leo would like it, and so she was happy. Her light blue top had white lettering that read, ‘I beat my boyfriend in guitar hero,’ anything to make him smile. She had heard quite a few things about this guy Rory that Matt had dated him and she already wanted to punch him just as much as Leo did. The guy reminded her of her father, and she wandered if her dad were like that when he was younger.
She brushed some lip gloss onto her lips and smiled before stepping out of the restroom, looking rather different than when she had stepped in wearing a pair of faded blue jeans and a long sleeve. “Don’t stare at my legs,” she warned him before closing the door behind her and moving to sit by the couch as she watched him come back from upstairs. She looked to her side and waved politely to Laurie before looking back to where Leo was.
He was gorgeous as always, immediately sending a small bit of blush to her cheeks. She’d really lucked out. Isabelle’s smile grew when she seen Matt rush over to Laurie, they were adorable. “You look pretty,” she offered. And the smile seemed to say something else as well, something along the lines of I got your back, and if he makes a wrong move I’ll whoop his arse. Isabelle had become more extroverted since she’d met Leo, finally unafraid of being seen as beautiful and fun, yet still commanding a black belt. She was finally happy with who she was, and Matt always made her feel welcome. The Stones had become more like extended family, and she loved every moment with them.
The issue tonight would be making sure to keep Leo calm enough not to phase, or to kill Matt’s ex. Issy half skipped to Leos side and laced her hand into his giving him a peck on the cheek.

Leo heard the knock at the door. Both Matt and Issy were still upstairs getting ready. Women always did tend to take longer, which meant he’d have to get the door. He was grateful that Issy had agreed to go with him. He knew she wouldn’t really know anyone there, but he needed her presence. He didn’t know if he could look at Rory again without getting angry enough to phase, and if he phased, Leo wondered if he’d really be able to stop himself from tearing Rory to shreds in a fit of anger. Leo could live with Rory’s death on his conscious. The bastard deserved it for what he did to his sister. But he knew Matt would feel guilty. And then her Doctor boyfriend and Taz would know his secret, two things that wouldn’t be good for him. So he needed Issy today to keep him calm, and keep him from becoming a murderer.
As Leo walked to the door, he knew it was Laurence. Leo wasn’t very fond of this guy either. In Leo’s mind he was way too old for his sister. Matt should be dating someone her own age, not some doctor who could take advantage of her. He also thought it was a little creepy that this guy asked his own patients out for dates. It seemed pathetic to him that he’d need to date his teenage patients. But as much as Leo disliked parts of this new guy Matt was seeing. He was better than Rory. Rory was closer in age to Matt and he had abused and cheated on her. At least when Matt came home from date’s with Dr. blondie she was smiling, not crying. There were never any bruises or cuts on her, and Matt hadn’t hid the relationship from him like she had her relationship with Rory. If this guy made his sister happy, Leo would give him a chance. Matt and Leo had gotten much closer after Matt found out about his Wolf side, and Leo wasn’t going to risk losing her again now for anything..
Leo opened up the door and gave a small nod to the doctor waving him inside. “Matt’s upstairs getting ready, you can have a seat or something if you want”
As Laurence sat down, Leo heard the first door close and Issy’s warning not to stare at her legs. Like with any man, when she told him to do one thing, it was his initial reaction as he walked back over to her, to look down at her legs first. Wow, she did look good. He wondered if she dressed that way in part to keep him distracted, it was working. He stood beside where she sat as he waited for his sister to come down. “You look great Iz” He told her then added softly “Thanks again for doing this” He smiled at his girlfriend as she complimented his sister as she came out. She was always so polite.

Laurence stood outside the door nervously. He didn’t really want to be here today, but he didn’t want Matt going alone either. When Matt had first told him about this party, he didn’t understand why she wanted to go, he still wasn’t sure he understood. All he knew was that he didn’t want her going alone. He had fixed the wounds caused by the man who they’d be spending the evening with. He wouldn’t leave Matt’s side for a moment unless she forced him to. But Laurie also couldn’t help but feel a little jealous. Matt obviously at some point had feelings for Rory. What if one of the reasons she wanted to go was to see him again. Was she unhappy with Laurie that she was hoping that they could work things out again. A knot formed in the back of his throat as he thought about catching the two of them together in some back corner. It tore him apart to even think of, but he still knew he had to be there.
He knocked lightly on the door. He was nervous, not knowing how the evening would go. Not wanting to be around Matt’s ex. And not knowing how Matt would feel when she saw him. He’d be there to support her, and hopefully not to see the destruction of their relationship. Matt’s twin brother opened the door. Laurie liked Leo, he seemed like a good guy. He knew he was a little cautious about Laurence dating his sister, but he respected that. He liked that there was someone close to her that was looking out for her. It made him try even harder to get Leo’s approval. He put on a smile for the brother.
“Hi. Good to see you again Leo” He said walking in as Leo held the door open. Leo then sat as he was instructed to do. “Sure, they can take as much time as they need, I’m in no hurry” He told him lightly. It wasn’t much longer before Leo’s girlfriend came out and waved. He waved back to her with a smile. He thought the two of them made a very cute couple, and from the way they looked at each other, they seemed very much in love. He wondered if he and Matt looked at each other that way. Or had Matt looked at Rory that way?
It wasn’t much longer before Matt came down. He stood up immediately and smiled as she came over and greeted him with a hug. “Hi” he said softly. “Isabelle’s right, you look very pretty” He hesitated a moment but then knew he had to ask. “Are you sure you want to do this?

Will lingered on the last kiss before Jack pulled away. Will had a permanent grin stuck to his face, enjoying all of the time he had been spending with Jack even more than imagined. Will propped himself up on his elbow as he lay naked in bed, with only a sheet covering part of him. He watched as Jack started dressing just enjoying the sight. He enjoyed the sight of him dressing almost as much as he did seeing him stripping down to nothing at all. It was all very erotic to Will.
“If I am I’ll just have to give you more mouth to mouth to keep you going…or mouth to wherever else you like” He said seductively, giving his boyfriend the once over with his eyes. As Jack reached for his coat, Will finally got up himself, pulling on his jeans, not bothering with underwear. He zipped himself up and grabbed a black tshirt that he knew fitted him rather tightly, but looked good at the same time. He pulled it on over his head before grabbing his leather coat. “You’ll be the most beautiful one there Jack, as always”
Will slipped on his leather coat and got a more serious tone to his voice. “Thanks for coming with me, this party means a lot to Taz, and I know the crowds a little young, but I didn’t want to be the only one without a date…and if we get too bored we can always sneak off into her room..” He said playfully grabbing Jack’s ass as he walked over. “I’ll make sure you have a good time”

Chuckling at the sight of the smirk on his face, Taz looked down at the deck below her feet and shook her head. Same old Rowe. He’d changed a bit since they had started dating, calming down a little, especially since he had started taking his meds, but one thing hadn’t changed and she was glad of it: his hormones. Even if everything else about him changed beyond recognition, she was sure she could count on that one thing, if only to use as negotiation material for occasions like tonight. Of course, it had its downsides, she was always worried that he might find someone he liked better, but at least if she needed to stop him thinking with his brain for a while, all she had to do was give him something to look at and he’d be thinking with a very different part of his anatomy. Not that she minded, it wasn’t as if she got the worst of the deal, it just meant she had to do a little more scheming than she normally would.
Wrapping her arms around him, she returned his kiss gladly, the rush of warmth it sent through her veins blocking out the nerves for a few moments. “No skirt huh? I’ll think about it” she teased as she jumped off the railing, winking mischievously as she landed on her toes. “Don’t worry, I don’t plan on leaving you alone with them, I’m not that crazy. Just don’t you leave me, I’m nervous enough as it is without having to face Matt by myself. And you never know. Be on your best behaviour tonight and you might get a little reward later.”
Returning his grin with one of her own, she laced her fingers through his and led him back toward the door, suddenly feeling considerably less nervous. She still had trouble reconciling the Rory she knew with the one Matt and Leo had been so against her dating. She had seen the proof, the way they had reacted to him on numerous occasions. Noone would behave so strongly without good reason but although he had a temper, she simply couldn’t picture him hurting anyone. The way he held her face, and the way he always made her feel completely comfortable without having to hide who she was, the fun they had together and the way he made her feel special and protected, if sometimes being a tad overly so, it was all so different from the guy Matt described. Smiling over her shoulder at him, she gestured to the sideboard before sinking back down on the sofa, her feet dangling over one arm as she lay staring up at the ceiling. “Help yourself” she said, the nerves settling back in her stomach as her mind once again cleared enough for her to think about the people that would be arriving soon. “There’s some cold ones in the fridge too.”

Walking down the stairs, Matt began to wonder whether this whole thing was worth the upset it was causing. She didn’t know whether it was her imagination, but it seemed that the men downstairs were quieter than she would have expected them to be; was there a tense atmosphere? Was it all just her? She could feel her breath begin to hitch in her throat and just then she would have settled for any way to avoid what she was about to make those to whom she felt nearest and dearest do. No, she knew she had to do this. She owed it to Taz, and though she felt that the other girl had been less than a good friend over this whole affair, she was the one that made La Push feel like home in those first few months. Maybe she had her reasons for her actions, or maybe not; either way, she had to see for sure, rather than allow this to get more out of hand than it already was.
“Thanks, Issy. You look great yourself,” she smiled at the other girl as she descended the stairs, though it was a little more tight lipped than usual, rather than her normal toothy grin. “As usual. I hope you remind Leo how lucky he is.”
She wrinkled her nose at her brother, trying to shoot some normality into the mix, and nothing did that more than gentle teasing. She then circled into her boyfriend, loving the warmth that his hug gave her, restoring her energy. She allowed her eyes to close very briefly, taking comfort from him, even if he didn’t mean to give it; so long as he was there tonight, she would be fine. Probably, definitely, maybe. She bit her lip and pulled back, looking up and squirming a little in modesty as he reiterated Issy’s words. Before she could utter her thanks, though, her thoughts were distracted by his hesitant follow up question.
“Yes,” she said, her voice sounding quite clipped, raw. She allowed her gaze to drop, feeling frustrated by the ridiculous over reaction her system went into when she over thought it – dry throat, elevated heart rate, clammy palms. It was stupid, really; she knew that nothing bad would happen, not at Taz’s party of all places, and yet… She glanced back up at her sweet boyfriend. “Want to… might not be right the word. This is something I have to do. Um, but if… if you don’t want to, then, well, I’d understand.”
She clasped her lower lip between her teeth, the neediness in her eyes directly contradicting her polite, if stumbling, words. She felt like she needed him there, but if he wasn’t comfortable accompanying her, which she could understand, then she wouldn’t force him, that wouldn’t be fair.

As Matt came into his arms, Laurie lingered in the hug longer than he normally would have around her brother. He honestly was having his doubts of whether by the end of the evening he’d still be in a relationship with her. The more he thought of it the more he was sure that she had to still have feelings for Rory, otherwise why would she be going to someplace to see someone who had hurt her. It was for her friend Taz she said, but if that was true, the two of them could have met up alone, not had a party where he would be there as well.
Though Laurie hoped she would have changed her mind when he asked if she really wanted to go, he knew deep down she wouldn’t. He expected her answer of Yes. Now all he could do was try to protect her from harm, if she’d even allow him to. His muscles got tense as he heard her answer and nodded. “You don’t have to…you don’t owe this to anyone” He tried to convince her.
Laurence then shook his head as she told him that he didn’t have to go. He wondered for a moment if she didn’t really want him there, but her eyes seemed to tell him otherwise. “Wants not the right word for me either, but I’m not leaving you alone…I’ll be by your side as long as you’ll let me”
As Laurie looked down at his girlfriend he felt like there was more he needed to tell her. It was almost as if he had to build up his own case for her to stay with him before she saw her ex. “I love you Matt” He said just above a whisper.

“No, it’s not fair of me to carry on this whole grudge thing,” Matt said, softly, swallowing against the dryness in her throat. The truth was that she hated confrontation of any kind, even more now than she used to, and so carrying on being on bad terms with someone that she used to like so well was hard for her, despite what wrongs were done against her. She chewed on her lip a little. “I kinda wish it could have just been the two of us though – Taz and I – but I think she might want us all to be friends.”
The look in her eyes as she spoke those words and whirled her finger in the air to indicate everyone in the room did not hold much confidence. She knew that she would be able to put a lot behind her, given usual circumstances, to have a more peaceful life between the two of them, but being friends was a whole other level of acquaintance. She wondered how hard Taz would push it, between themselves and between everyone here and Rory. She sucked in her breath, not being able to stop imagining this party as a giant no-man’s land with two warring parties converging to work out a shaky peace treaty.
“Always, I’ll always let you be with me,” she blurted out as he issued his sentiments. She looked directly up at him, her dark eyes misted over with the intensity of the emotion that suddenly swayed her heart. She felt a little uncomfortable, knowing that her brother and his girlfriend were just feet away and could probably hear every word they were saying, but as Laurie continued to express his feelings for her, the room closed up. There was just the two of them now stretching out through all time to express the most special of words. She was silent for a beat, absorbing the whole meaning behind them. He loved her; he had said he loved her. Beyond family nobody had ever said that, she had never been in a position where she could say those words herself.
“Oh, Laurie,” she breathed, the mistiness of her eyes increasing in intensity. “I love you too, so, so much.” She swallowed and leant up to kiss him, still only aware of the existence of the two of them in this unexpected perfect little bubble.

With a purse of his lips and a slight narrowing of his eyes, Jack stood at the foot of the bed that he now share with Will on more nights than not. He could, at that moment, be very easily drawn into a little game of doctors and nurses, if Will pushed too hard. However, he knew it would be a bad idea at the moment, knowing that his boyfriend was keen to get to his friend’s party to offer her support. Just as he was easily distracted, he knew that Will shared the tendency to be easily corrupted by the promise of a good ‘shag’ as he called it in that adorable, quaint English accent of his. Thus, Jack somehow managed to pull himself away from the other man sprawled out, naked, in front of him, though he couldn’t stop himself from taking one last, blatantly desirous look over the length of the other man’s body.
“That might be something we should practice, y’know,” he added, eventually, grinning a little. He didn’t mind where Will’s mouth was, it could always produce some kind of reaction – the thought alone almost made him shiver in anticipation. Yanking his arms out, suddenly, as his boyfriend pulled his sexy black t-shirt over his head, Jack gripped the sometimes-blond in front of him, tilting his head a little in an assessing manner. Licking his bottom lip, he nodded a little and suddenly shifted his head forward, to plant an impassioned kiss upon the other man’s lips, his hands dropping to Will’s waist, where his fingers dipped dangerously under the waistband of his jeans. Pulling away, he grinned at the other man, his blue eyes twinkling in a mischievous fashion. “You’d better believe it!”
He stood back, then, allowing Will to pull on his leather jacket and his cocksure expression dropped into one that he used in more serious situations as he gauged the tone of his boyfriend’s voice when he spoke again. “Don’t worry about – I wouldn’t dream of letting you go to a party alone. There’s gotta be some fun we can be having… and if there’s not, well, then we’ll have to resort to some behind closed doors activity.” He winked at Will, his eyes flicking up and down his form as he felt the other man’s hand on his ass – a feeling he always enjoyed. “Come on, let’s get going, before we end up not leaving, ‘cause I can’t be held responsible for what I’ll do to you if we stay here much longer.”

Leo stood over next to his imprintee as his twin sister greeted her boyfriend. Leo still tensed a little seeing them so close and comfortable with each other and then felt even more awkward hearing their proclaimations of love. Dr. Chambers was not the man who Leo would have picked out for his sister. He was too old for her in Leo’s opinion, but he was better than Rory.
Leo had to appreciate the fact that the doctor did seem to care for his sister and he treated her well. He wasn’t like other guys who would grab at her or look at her like he was going to rip off her clothes. He seemed to at least have a polite façade, so Leo tried to put up with him. He wanted Matt happy, and safe. If the doctor ended up being the one to provide that for her, Leo would do his best to get over the issues he had with their age difference.
Leo didn’t understand how his sister could be going to this party. She didn’t want to go, she admitted that much. He thought it was a horrible idea going to the party of a supposed friend and her boyfriend, who cheated on you and abused you. Taz had stayed with the jerk after knowing what he did to Matt which made her just as bad in Leo’s book.
“Taz may want us all to be friends but that’s not happening. No way in hell” Leo stated his views clearly. “I’m going for your protection, she’s nothing to me anymore, never will be. And that boyfriend of hers even looks at any of you the wrong way, he’ll need some of Laurence’s coworkers help to see straight”
