“Grudge…Matt, its more than a grudge what they did to you” Laurie told her softly. He wished she would continue carrying it. He didn’t want her to have anything to do with these people. A thought he shared with her brother. As he gave a glance over to the other Stone twin, he knew the boy wasn’t his biggest fan, but Laurie would work to convince him that he would be good to his sister.
Laurie allowed himself a weak smile as she told him she’d always let him be with her. Did she mean that or was she just trying to reassure him. He’d have to believe her, to trust her that this wouldn’t be the end of things for them. “I always want to be there”
Laurie watched Matt’s face after he told he loved her, wondering if it seemed inappropriate timing or if she would just see him as desperate now. He felt like a loser trying to hold onto her so tightly, feeling as though it was a losing battle. All his doubts however were erased as he heard her repeat those three words back to him. She loved him, and the sincerity was clear in her voice.
Laurie’s eyes glossed over with a layer of tears feeling emotional as he heard her declaration of love. He leaned down and returned her kiss, feeling in that moment as if they were the only two people in the world that mattered and that they could get through anything. He never wanted to lose her, he wouldn’t let that happen.
It wasn’t long after he pulled away from the kiss that Laurie looked over as Leo went on about his distaste for the situation. He looked down at Matt again. “I have to agree with your brother on this one. Its not fair of them to expect you to be friendly towards either of them…sometimes its better to just part ways with people. But I’m there for you too, we’ll leave whenever you want.”

Chewing her lip nervously, Matt listened to Laurie’s reply and wished it didn’t make so much sense. It may have only been a simple sentence, but it had taken a lot of inner will power to work up enough guilt within herself to force her own hand in forgiving the pair of them and it was pretty precariously balanced just then. She knew that she was displeasing her brother and her boyfriend – the two people that she care most about in the world – by going through with this, and she hated that. On the other hand, though, she knew what had gone on a few weeks ago on that disastrous date and she just didn’t want the threat of that confrontation hanging over her. Oh, she knew that it would probably not happen again, but she didn’t want any confrontation hanging over her and if that took going to this party and making an effort that she wasn’t sure about, then so be it. She just hoped that Leo would forgive her decision and that Laurie wouldn’t think her some stupid kid trying to be friends with everyone.
“I know,” she said, weakly, in response to his opinion on the grudge and she bowed her head a little in defeat. She had no argument, or at least no argument that would make sense to someone that wasn’t in her head. When she looked up again, though, her jaw was more set as she steeled herself against the situation again. “But I don’t like having enemies – it bothers me.”
A smile spread across Matt’s lips as she heard Laurie’s assertion that he wanted to be there for her, and with her, as a tumult of butterflies began fluttering around in her stomach. It amazed her how perfect this Australian man, this man that she was so lucky to meet so randomly; even in this awkward situation that she just wished could be over, he could still make her smile and feel good. If her brother, who she knew wasn’t exactly impressed with her choice in this man, wasn’t here she would have stepped forward and hugged his insecurities away.
Now happily enshrouded in her own little bubble that only included herself and the man that she loved, she felt like she could spend an eternity just looking into his eyes, searching for his response to her own declaration of love. She did love him, so much, a feeling that she would never utter unless she was absolutely sure of it and now she watched as the emotions bubbled to the surface between them. With her cheeks pleasantly warmed and stained a rosy colour from emotional exertion, she put her feeling into the kiss that she gave her boyfriend, though she didn’t let it get too passionate with the presence of Leo and Issy still burning in the back of her mind.
As she bounced back down to her usual level, she turned to Leo to hear his harsh words concerning Taz and Rory and she knew that this couldn’t end too quickly. Her hand automatically found Laurie’s in a discreet manner without her even noticing and a worried frown creased her brow. She took a deep breath, appreciative of her brother’s concern for her, but worried unless there was trouble at the party. She knew that Leo could probably take a roomful of them single handed, with what he was, but she didn’t want him to regret anything he did, especially if he did something rash for her.
“Thanks, Bro,” she said, gently, she turned to look at the other two as well. “All of you. I know… this may not be a great idea, but… let’s just get it over with.” With cheeks much redder than was normal for her, Matt began to move towards the front door, suffering slightly from emotional whiplash. As she reached the door she turned to look at the clock. They would only need to be there a couple of hours for politeness’ sake, then if things looked to be going pear shaped, they might be able to escape then.

Will grinned from his spot naked on the bed as Jack suggested they do some practicing of the mouth to mouth that Will had mentioned. "Anytime and anywhere you want" He told him, always happy to be spending time with Jack, especially in these types of situations. "And its all in the name of being prepared in case of emergency, so its for a good cause" He said letting his eyes linger on his boyfriend's body as he got dressed before Will got out of the bed to change himself.
Will smiled as Jack put his arms around him as he pulled on his tshirt, pulling him close, exactly where Will wanted to be. Will draped his arms over Jack's shoulders, as he gave himself in to the passionate kiss spurred on by his boyfriend whose hands were now wandering south. He gave a moan of pleasure before Jack pulled away teasingly. "You're the most beautiful person in any room Jack"
With his arms now freed he pulled on his coat as their conversation turned a little more serious as Will thanked him. He smiled as Jack said he wouldnt dream of letting him go alone. "I have the feeling they'll probably be a bit of drama to keep us entertained as well" He said, still liking the idea of them sneaking off. He appreciated having Jack all to himself, body and soul. "Staying is tempting.." He said "But in a few hours will be back and have the rest of the night to ourselves"

A cheeky grin affected Jack’s mouth as glorious images of such ‘practice’ paraded themselves through his mind. He had half an inkling to just say ‘screw the party’ and carry on with more x-rated activity, but he knew that Taz meant a lot to Will. He had only met the girl a couple of times, usually when they were out together, but if she meant something to his boyfriend, then she meant something to him by proxy. Although…
“Any time?” he queried. “Anywhere? Interesting… This party might not be so dull after all…” He grinned at the sometimes-blonde and cocked an eyebrow at him, the suggestion only making him dress quicker due to the promise of what was to come. He massaged his bad shoulder, which had begun to ache from hasteful clumsiness, but the injury had really been a blessing where this couple were concerned – there couldn’t have been a greater catalyst to starting their relationship.
“Oh, I know,” he said, cockily as he pulled away from the impromptu kiss that they had shared. This entire venture was one of self-control and if he hadn’t already made up his mind to make sure that Will got to go to this party then he would have given himself over to the pleasures of the flesh way before now. But then, maybe if Will didn’t mind not going to the party…
“Hmm,” he pressed his lips together as he considered the prospect of drama and perhaps some illicit backroom shenanigans and then broke into a half smile. “Okay, but you owe me when we get back… Let’s go.”
