Nicoletta sat on the edge of her bed, fastening the zip on her boot. She often found the necessity to keep a low profile around humans inconvenient to say the least, but there were some perks. Beds, for example. She had no use for one, since she never slept, but there was something luxurious about sinking into the soft surface as she prepared for a night out.
Standing, she moved gracefully over to the massive mirror that covered the closet door in her bedroom, eyeing her reflection with satisfaction. It could hardly be denied that she was beautiful, and her clothes only served to enhance her beauty. She smirked as she cinched the corset top that had become her favourite a slight bit tighter. Tonight was a special night, and she was going to make the most of it by dining on whoever she found. Men were always attracted to her, but it was the women who were drawn in by this outfit. The poor, poor human women, so desperate to find out how she managed to wear such a top without it cutting off her breathing. She chuckled darkly. Little did they know that oxygen was hardly an issue. They never found out until it was too late.
Shaking her dark curls out over her shoulders, she turned sideways and checked to be sure she looked perfect from every angle. Heidi would be here soon, it wouldn't do to keep her waiting with trivial clothing checks. She sighed as she thought of Heidi. The Volturi had been Letty's best friend since shortly after she had been turned, and she was grateful for her guidance. It had been hard, those first few years, getting used to the thirst, the emotions, everything that made a newborn feel constantly on the verge of insanity, but Heidi had taken her under her wing, teaching Letty how to use her beauty to her advantage, and encouraging her enthusiasm for this new life.
Letty loved being a vampire. She relished the hunt, the taste of blood, the feeling of power as the humans flocked to her like a queen, oblivious to the danger they faced. Tonight, she would hunt with Heidi. It was always exciting to watch her friend hunt, learning the subtle nuances that made her such an asset to the Volturi. Letty had never wished to join the most powerful family in the vampire world, preferring to be her own mistress, but nevertheless, she envied their power.
She was distracted from her thoughts by a knock at the door. Cursing her lack of attention, she ran down the stairs so fast it seemed her feet never touched the treads, flinging the door wide. She hated to keep anyone waiting, especially the person she admired the most. She grinned at Heidi, her teeth glimmering in the darkness.
"It is so good to see you, cara!" she exclaimed, her voice songlike with its Italian accent. "How have you been? It has been far too long."

Heidi ran her pale fingers through her seemingly golden red mane. Her finger nails were groomed to perfection, a French manicure gracing her delicate finger tips with a diamond chip placed in one corner on each of her ring fingers. She smoothed out the patent leather ensemble that graced her curvy features. She stared into the darkly tinted window of the black Cadillac and rand her fingers gingerly down the line between her breasts and lightly across the rhinestone encrusted black bustier. The zipper to the patent leather vest began just beneath the lining of rhinestones; it hugged her form in a unique way.
The patent leather hip huggers looked as though they were plastered to her body before they were worn. She smiled and glided her tongue gently over her incisors. She let out a soft giggle and bit her lower lip in excitement. She hadn’t seen her friend in quite a while. The way she seen it they would have some action, a bite to eat so to speak, and maybe if the pickings of the local clubs were as great as in Italy a little fun was in order. After all vampires have cravings too. Unlike what many would think the undead found erotica just as interesting and vital as any human. At least that was Heidi’s view.
The car came to a stop, and Heidi waited for the suited man to open the door. She stepped out of the vehicle smoothly, her rhinestone stilettos clickity clacking upon the gravel. The chauffeur carried her items to the door, knocked three times, and stood aside for Heidi to pass. Heidi winked at him and the middle aged man lowered his eyes to the floor. Heidi smiled widely.
Without a word she opened her arms and took Nicoletta into them. “If I was at all hungry,” she began in her silky Italian accent, “I’d take him first. But, maybe I’ll just give him a call after we eat.” She laughed playfully, and pulled away to look at her dear friend. The only girl she truly looked at as family she enjoyed having around. A younger sister.

Letty laughed, her eyes shining as she took in the sight of her dearest friend.
"Heidi, you are too cruel!" she teased, eyeing the man standing just behind Heidi, looking half as though he wanted to stare openly at the women, half as though he wished to flee in terror. "You know too well you could never do such a thing, he is too useful to you." She smiled at the man, feeling a sort of pity for him. He was so smitten he would probably think it a great honour to die to feed Heidi. But, as she said, he was too useful, and practicality, though never a favourite course of action, sometimes had to be placed above pleasure.
"Up the stairs, second on the right" she said dismissively to the man, gesturing the way as she turned back to the Volturi.
"I am so glad you're here, Heidi, it will be so much fun! The clubs here...well, in the next town, they are very popular. It will be a veritable feast!" She could hardly contain her excitement. It had been days since she had hunted, waiting until her friend's arrival, so that she could savour the enjoyment. Looking over her friend's outfit, she frowned playfully. "I feel so underdressed carina! You should have told me it was such a special occasion, I would have gone to more effort!" She sighed dramatically, only half-teasing. "But truly, you look wonderful, as always. The men will be unable to resist you, and the women will be *so* jealous! How long will you stay?"
Letty led the way into the living room, letting Heidi analyse the little house she had bought. The outskirts of Forks were hardly ideal hunting grounds, but the property prices were low, something Letty approved highly of. Money was of no importance, but she never liked to throw it away. Besides, she had fallen in love with the quaint little property the moment she had seen it, and she hoped her friend would approve. It was large, by Forks standards, with more rooms than she had need of, but in the event that Heidi came to stay, she always wanted to have plenty of room to spare. Besides this, she knew that there was a unique coven living near town, and it would be intriguing to watch them, find out how they lived. She was incurably curious, and this was too much to ignore.

Heidi smiled and shrugged lightheartedly. The woman with the full, seemingly glowing red mane purred once the man was out of ear shot and giggled as he obediently took her possessions to her room. She loved the adoration she received from her followers, vampire and human alike. But Letty, she was something on a different note. A sweet sound in her life that could only be sung by her sisterly presence. She smiled at her dearest friend, the only one able to enter her frozen heart and linger there for what she hoped was eternity.
“Piccolo mio,” she sighed tenderly as her eyes examined her best friend. It wasn’t as if she expected her to change any, but the fact that this one being emanated feelings other than the one to dominate or play with. She awoke from her thoughts as Nicoletta carried on with her plans for the night. Her calm smile became a sly grin, “Though I’m not hungry, I could stand a snack.” she beamed with delight.
“Oh sorella,” she began, “Your not overdressed I’m simply above American standards,” Heidi winked. She followed behind her best friend, each step utterly flawless, closing the door with a flick of a finger against the wood. “As long as you’ll keep me, or until we get bored of this place,” she said as she looked around the room. Her eyes falling on the walls, the colors of the room, the sheer elegance that seemed to shimmer from inside the home, even though the town was dull and dreary. Which she didn’t mind, it was only a fact.
Heidi walked over to the couch and plopped herself down, but even that movement seemed to perfect. Too elegant in a sense. “Marco,” she called from her spot on the soft comfy cushion. “Portesti il regalo per Letty.” The woman patted the spot by her side gently.

Letty smiled at Heidi's comment about her clothing. By the Volturi's standards, it was a high compliment. The smile broadened as Heidi carried on, until she laughed out loud at the thought of getting bored of Forks, or indeed wanting her to leave. Heidi was the one person whose company she felt she could never tire of, and Forks was so quaint and so well-placed, she could hardly imagine leaving the sweet little house, at least not in the near future.
Following Heidi to the couch, she watched as her friend sank into the cushions and followed suit, basking in her presence. She giggled as Heidi ordered the chauffeur to bring her present, clapping her hands in an almost infantile way. She had a childish streak that her honorary sister indulged almost to a fault, spoiling her dreadfully.
"You didn't have to bring me anything Heidi!" she exclaimed gleefully, edging forward on the couch so that she could turn to face her friend more, grasping her hand. "Having you here is the best houswarming present I could ask for, you know that. It is such a pleasant place carina, despite the neighbours" she grimaced slightly at the thought of the Cullen family. Vegetarians indeed. More like freaks! "It will do you good to be away from Volterra for a while, and you know you are welcome here as long as you wish to stay, I insist on it!"

Heidi could hear the Marcos footsteps upstairs. The sound of him zippering and un-zippering the many compartments within her Gucci suitcases. He was moving rather frantically, but not really out of fear, more so for the shear fact he would give his neck if she asked for it. The thought of his utter devotion to her every need made the woman smile. The sound of Letty’s laughter was like a chime in a soft breeze. She leaned back into the comfort of the soft, full couch.
She watched as Letty clapped her hands together like a child, though they looked the same age Letty was undoubtedly Heidi’s own kid sister so to speak. If anyone touched her their world would come to an end, but that was only after sever torture. She would make sure of it.
“You say that as if you didn’t know I’d bring one for you sorellina,” she smiled. She listened to her sisters words with a gentle smile on her face. Heidi pushed herself forward on the couch, her knees lifting more toward her torso. She held her hand out as Marco laid the small box in the palm of her porcelain hand. It was square and with a silver bow on top, with rich red sparkles creating a flower like print upon the sheer material.
Within the decorated box lay a fleur de lis immersed in whit diamonds and black onyx details. The chain that held it was a black velvety ribbon material. Heidi passed Letty the gift and watched eagerly as she waited for her to open it. She loved giving gifts, the pure elation that others felt when they opened her personalized gifts was picturesque. After all she designed most of the gifts herself.

Giggling with delight, Letty took the box Heidi held out to her, her eyes gleaming with anticipation. Heidi was well-known for her lavish gifts, and Letty loved their uniqueness. The box itself was beautiful, decorated with two of her favourite colours, and she could barely contain her excitement as she loosened the ribbon, her perfectly manicured fingernails careful not to snag the threads. It would be a shame to ruin something so beautiful, even if it was only the wrapping. Finally, she lifted the lid, gasping with surprise as she removed the exquisite necklace. Heidi had really outdone herself this time. The necklace was perfect in every way.
Dashing to the mirror that stood near the doorway, she quickly fastened the ribbon about her neck, smiling serenly as she saw how well it suited her, the diamonds glittering like her skin in the sunlight, the black onyx shockingly dark against her pale throat. The fleur de lis had always been one of her favourie symbols, at least since she had become a vampire. It was a symbol of royalty and power and although she had no desire for the former, the latter was something she always valued. It also reminded her of Heidi, one of the royalty of the vampire world. At this last thought, she spun around, darting back to the sofa and throwing her arms around her best friend, before leaning back so that she could trace the symbol again.
"E perfetta! E troppa perfetta!" she sighed, smiling at Heidi, glad to have her sister back after so long. "I only wish I had something to give you!"

Heidi smiled joyfully at the expression that overtook Letty’s perfect features. It was an amazing yet indescribable feeling to know that she was capable of caring about someone so much. Being around Nicoletta always seemed to make her feel the closest to whole. After all, it was the only female friend she agreed to have, and she was thoroughly great she had her to pass eternity with. After all she was all the family Heidi truly needed.
The red head hugged her back and gave a little squeeze. “You’ve given me a sister, that’s more than I could ever ask for,” she smiled tenderly as she let go. Heidi wasn’t the greatest at exposing her true feelings, or feeling more than lust or the want to deceit toward most people. A handful of Volturi’s and Nicoletta were the only ones she let in. The only ones to see she was not a completely heartless witch.
Heidi stood slowly, and shooke her head letting the loose, large, mahogany curls fall. The looked like a flaming waterfall, as the strands danced with her movement. She ran her fingers through her hair. “Ready for the fun part?” she asked with a grin.
