Jasper shifted his body slowly to sit down in his desk. Slowly, he pulled out his books and waited for class to begin although there was still minutes to go before the bell rang. He learned quickly that it was better to be introduced to the smell of humans one by one, than in huge packs. So this was the way to go. Allow them all to come in, while Jasper adjusted his head for the class.
Out of the corner of his eye, he saw Emmett and Rosalie passing by hand in hand. He couldn't deny that he was jealous of them, and his other siblings. They simply went to school, and went about their lives. Playing their parts as teenagers. Jasper's day was always a struggle. Making sure that he wasn't under the light in case the humans got a glance of his scars. Making sure that he wasn't too close to someone who smelled particularly tempting that day. But he was always encouraged...especially by Alice. And somehow Esme managed to get Jasper in classes with a sibling at all times...except English. So he had to be extra careful now.
The bell finally rang, and all of Jasper's classmates wandered into the classroom, finding their seats. Jasper held his breath, and focused on their teacher. Ms. Prince was nice enough, but there was an odd smell to her that hinted that she either didn't bathe, or had some supernatural ancestery. At least she was one less person for Jasper to worry about...

Leif gave a nod to one of his friends in the hallway, drummer in his band, and one of the few people in this school who he knew actually was his friend for who he was, and not just because he had a band that had actually gotten a few gigs booked in Port Angeles and Seattle (small ones at that). Leif quietly headed across the hall through the crowd of people to his next class, English, where he filed after a few others were already there.
Leif gave a quick scan around the room. He didn't really give too much thought or preference to where he sat, not being one to judge a person by their looks or their friends. A person was just a person, and each one unique. He saw a few people already chatting it up, and didnt want to interupt. It was then that he spotted Jasper Hale. One of the Cullen family (though a different name, for reasons which Leif never listened to the gossip of long enough to hear the end of the story) which many in the school avoided. Leif had always noticed that Jasper seemed to be a bit quieter, and guessed that he was probably a deep thinker. He even seemed like he might be the artsy type, perhaps a fellow rocker himself with the pale skin and slightly longer blond hair.
Though Leif felt a twinge of nervousness that he couldn't place, he shoved that aside as he headed over to the empty seat beside the Hale male. "Hey..." He said giving a quick and polite nod as he took his seat.

Jasper avoided eye contact with all of the stundets, hoping that they would avoid him. But one human in particular...his scent was impossible to ignore. Jasper glanced at the boy from the corner of his eye. Leif. Eventhough the Cullens tended to stick to themselves they knew everyone in the school. Not just for security...also for fun. It seemed like a favorite past time was to gossip just as much as normal teens.
Jasper didn't know too much about him. He was in a band. That much he heard. But beyond that, the high school gossip was quieter on him than most. But knowing things about him didn't make this any easier. The vein in his neck was pulsing normally. The pulsing was an all out pounding in Jasper's head. A suggestion of how he would taste on his tongue. He closed his eyes, and imagined the pulse going away...this was when he noticed Leif's nervousness. 'You're right to be worried,' Jasper thought. But the human said hello anyway.
Jasper was forced to look up and meet his eyes. Clenching his neck muscles, he managed to utter, "Hello," Although it sounded like it was the most two painful syllables that Jasper ever uttered.

Leif wasn't overly talkative and knew that Jasper seemed to be one of the quieter of the Cullen family as well. It either made them a good match for sitting next to each other or was preparing them for some large awkward silences between the two.
When Leif sat and greeted him, though Jasper seemed a bit tense (as usual), Leif noticed he didn't tell him to go find somewhere else to sit or anything rude to scare him off. Though just being near him was unsettling. Leif hated that some part of him must have been judging Jasper by his appearance...even though that seemed normal enough, he wasn't even dressed in goth fashion, making it a little harder for Leif to understand his hesitancy.
Leif turned his attention to the teacher for a few moments, listening to her get started. He looked over at Jasper and noticed it didnt seem the other boy was overly interested in paying attention to class. "Seems like the same stuff we learn every year" He commented quietly.

Jasper tried to pay attention to the teacher, but frankly, grammar...wasn't his cup of tea. Even though he had only been to school for a few years, grammar was always the same. It was math. 1+1=2. Comma here to seperate clauses. That didn't interest Jasper. The questions in between. Why people acted the way they did...that interested him. And despite his old age, Jasper admitted that he also faded off into "lala" land like those actual teenagers around him.
Even though he was nodding off a bit, he could still feel Leif's unease. Although he had to give it to him, he could feel some curiousity and a bit of empathy. That was rather impressive considering he could just ignore Jasper and have quite a happy life. But, there he was talking to him again. "Apparently we need to be reminded of the beauty of...semi-colons," He uttered under his breath so only Leif could hear him.
(Sorry! Somehow I missed that you posted)
