Character Basics
Name:Simone Ozette
Nickname: Mona, Oz
Age: 18
Appearance
Looks: tall and dark-skinned, a classic Quileute girl with long black hair and dark eyes, she is slender with a somewhat athletic build which she keeps in shape through dancing and working out. She dresses somewhat rebelliously at times, considering her parents’ strict natures, but will always dress according to the situation. Being somewhat obsessed with swimming and sunbathing, she has a tendency to wear swimsuits, bikinis, shorts and tank tops as much as she can in an attempt to soak up as many rays as possible on the rare sunny days. When she’s at school or work, or running errands, she dresses considerably more modestly, aiming for jeans and a tshirt, usually paired with a jacket of some sort.
Scars, tattoos, other marks: none
Portrayed by: (may include photo here)
Nicole Scherzinger
Personality and Stats
Basic Personality: Simone is surprisingly quiet despite her appearance, and has a hard time fitting in with the crowd once the rowdiness starts. She is a bit of a nerd, and loves to learn, even though her grades aren’t always up to scratch because of her habit of daydreaming. She spends a lot of time doing so, allowing her mind to drift to whatever happens to catch her attention, be it a butterfly outside the classroom window or a new book she’s planning on buying. Having grown up on the La Push reservation, she places a lot of stock in the old legends she grew up with, and likes to draw the various characters the Elders talk about, although her drawings rarely resemble what they’re intended to. Her only real talent, as far as she knows, is singing, something that stems from her childhood, having learned all the traditional songs she heard as a child and enjoying singing them to the children she looks after. She loves to cook, and has a habit of showing up at the houses of friends and family with a container of whatever’s most recently left the stove or oven, whether they expect it or not. She is very motherly and loves to look after people, though it can sometimes get on people’s nerves when they don’t want to be looked after.
Species: Human
Abilities: singing, cooking, dancing (when noone’s looking), looking after people (especially children)
Occupation: student, evening/ weekend daycare assistant
Car: none, she walks or rides a bike (or roller blades when she feels like it)
History:
Birthplace: La Push Reservation
Family: Parents: Anna and Michael Ozette, Sisters Tara Ozette (married and living in Florida) and Sarah Ozette (deceased when Simone was 8)
Friends:
History: Simone has lived a quiet life on the reservation, with little of note to set her apart from the other girls in town. Growing up, she spent a lot of time with the children of her parents’ friends listening to the Elders in the tribal school, learning about the history of the tribe, one of her favourite subjects. Not much has changed since then, for Simone herself at least. She is still the same quiet, unflappable girl she always was, although a little more so now that she is, more or less, an only child.
At the age of 8, her younger sister Sarah, aged 7 at the time was involved in an accident at First Beach, having escaped from her class while they studied the flora that grew on the cliff. Being very different from Simone, far less cautious than her sister, she had slipped away from the group, seemingly to look at a flower nearer the edge of the cliff, and fell. She was found a couple of hours later, having hit the water head-on and dying on impact. Although Tara moved on with her life much more easily, having never been very close to the younger girls due to the age difference (Tara being 10 years older than Simone), Simone’s lack of a ‘mourning period’ has never ceased to worry her parents, particularly in recent years, her rebelliousness becoming more marked, at least for a girl like her. In particular, they worry about the fact that she has developed a tendency to slip away for hours at a time, often coming back with numerous scratches and bruises that she refuses to talk about. On the whole, though, despite these occasional mood swings, she rarely changes from her normal quietly friendly self, and her parents usually push aside their worries, putting them down to parental paranoia.
