(Early Twilight - tag Taz and Jack)
Will was sitting slumped on the couch with a can of beer in his hand flipping through the channels of his tv as he hung out with Taz at his place. He got along great with the girl, they both enjoyed life and having some fun. She wasn't one of those stuck up chicks who were so pruidish about everything. He could really be himself around her. If only she was taller, had a few more muscles, shorter hair and less breasts (along with another very important body part), she'd be perfect for him.
Will tilted his head back finishing the last of his beer before crushing the can and putting it on the table. He was already feeling bored tonight. He wasn't really in the mood to watch tv, or go to the clubs. He wished there was more to do in Forks, it could really be a drag at time. "Nothing on...gotta be something better we can do with ourselves"
Will tried to think of where else they could go. There was the diner, but that was never too exciting. There was the coffee shop but that was closed by now. His thoughts paused a moment and a smirk came across his face. So what if the coffee shop was closed, that could be exactly the kind of excitement he was looking for right now. Just a little breaking and entering, something to get the adrenaline flowing. He was really starting to crave a cup of coffee now that he thought about it.
"I dont know about you, but I could go for a good hit of caffeine right about now" He said with a mischievous smile.

Sitting upside down on the couch beside Will, her feet dangling over the back while her head hung toward the floor, Taz sighed as she watched show after show appear and then disappear on the tv screen, each one as boring as the next. They had hit a slump, a major one, and there was absolutely nothing that seemed to be alleviating the tedium that was almost suffocating her. It was great hanging out with Will, she could be the real her, whichever mood she happened to be in, and he didn’t care one way or the other. If she was in one of her rare girly moods, he put up with it, if she was hyper, he practically encouraged it, and when she was mad, well, he could give as good as he got, and he was about the only person who could get away with it. She knew people looked at them oddly, thinking it strange that an 18 year old girl should be hanging out with a 30 year old man, but she couldn’t care less. She had long since decided that age mattered in two things, and two things only: the contents of your fridge, and the cleanliness of your underwear, and even in the former case, sometimes a little leeway could be allowed. As far as friendship, dating, hanging out, all of that stuff went, age was just a number, what mattered was how well you got along, and she and Will got along fantastically. If it wasn’t for the fact that she most definitely wasn’t his type, in the gender sense, he might very well have been her type, but as it was, good buds was just fine by her. Even so, there was only so much channel surfing a girl could take.
“I’m open to suggestions” she grumbled as yet another vacuum cleaner commercial flashed on the screen, peering between her thumb and forefinger at the picture, pretending to squash the airheaded blonde housewife’s head between them. This was most definitely the height of boredom. Nothing on tv, nowhere to go that held the slightest bit of interest. Hell, she would’ve gone to a slumber party, makeovers and all, if it meant having something to do, she was that desperate. She was in the mood for something different, something exciting, something she normally wouldn’t do, but in a town like this, that didn’t come along often. Rolling her head to the side as he spoke, she narrowed her eyes at him.
“I am not a servant girl, Will” she replied, her tone unamused as she spoke, before realising he meant going out. “Ohhhhh, gotcha.” Glancing at her watch, she let her arms fall down past her head so that her hands rested on the floor. “Only one problem. Noah’s is closed by now, and you know what the stuff at the diner’s like, it makes mud look gourmet.” Wiggling her toes to get the blood moving to them once more, she turned to look at him again, frowning a little at the expression on his face. That look always meant he was up to no good, and with his history, whatever he had up his sleeve was likely to be something that her parents wouldn’t approve of. In other words, she wanted in.

Will merely turned his head to the side and raised his eyebrows slightly as he waited for her to catch onto what he was saying when she immediately jumped to the conclusion that he wanted her to serve him coffee. He knew that Taz was probably one of the least likely females in the world to ever wait on a man. He'd have better luck teaching a dog to fetch him a drink.
"Not a problem..." He said softly as Taz stated how Noah's was closed. There was no way he was suggesting going to the diner for coffee. It had decent burgers and pie but that was about all it was good for in his mind. He waited for a few moments, keeping the grin on his face as he gave it a moment to sink in what he was suggesting.
Will sat up straighter, feeling excited about his new idea. The adrenaline was already pumping, better than any high that he could chemically achieve. "I say we go to Noah's, best coffee in town, and if he happens to be closed, we should just help ourselves"

Raising an eyebrow at Will, Taz quickly rolled headfirst off the sofa, landing in a crouch on the floor and tucked her legs underneath her so she was sitting cross-legged on the floor. The grin he was giving her had piqued her interest and she couldn’t help returning it with one of her own. She didn’t get in trouble often, not seriously, and she never did anything that’d actually hurt anyone, but she’d be glad of a little excitement, even if it was something a little unorthodox.
Her jaw dropped as he made his suggestion, shocked at the idea. She knew he had a somewhat colourful past, but to break into somewhere just for coffee? That was bordering on insanity, although... The grin returned, a hint of wickedness to it this time. “Well, I’m not one for coffee really, but I do love a good cup of hot chocolate, and Noah’s is the best in town, as you say. Anyway” she added playfully, “It’s not our fault if the only place to get good coffee is closed, the customer is always right.”
Pushing herself up from the floor, she sat back on the couch, her legs crossed beneath her as she faced sideways so she could see Will properly. “So, what’s the plan, my man?”

Will watched as Taz rolled herself off the couch, watching to make sure she didn’t hit her head on something as she flipped around to sit upright on the floor. Taz was the one person who he could tell his wild ideas too without being afraid she’d tell him he was nuts. Yeah she might say it, but not in a judgmental way, and sometimes she’d even be open to encouraging his crazy side. Her grin gave him hope that tonight was one of those nights.
“You’ve got them there, the customer is always right, and we say they should be open for coffee or hot chocolate or anything else we want when we want it” Will said, thoroughly enjoying the idea of going in there, making himself a cup of coffee, and then waltzing out. He wasn’t planning on stealing from the cash register or vandalizing the place. The thrill would just be in breaking in, being where he shouldn’t be. He didn’t have to be destructive to have a good time.
He grinned again as she asked about his plan. “Well I figure I’m pretty good at picking a lock, I doubt he’s got anything on that little place that I haven’t seen before” He said, not expecting there’d be any high tech locks or security system.

"Precisely" Taz agreed, nodding, the corner of her mouth turning up cheekily at his explanation. It was half-baked, that was for sure, and it'd never hold up with the cops, but it wasn't like they were going to get caught. All they wanted was something to do, and they weren't planning any damage, and she'd naturally leave behind a little something to cover whatever they took. She may be sneaky, but she wasn't cruel, she wouldn't let Noah be left out of pocket by their little prank.
"Lock-picking huh? Is there anything you don't do? Besides the obvious of course" she added, chuckling at the innuendo. Will was about the only person she could joke around with in that way without being told she wasn't being ladylike enough, or whatever excuse the grownups decided to use to yell at her for being too much like a guy, and she liked to take advantage of the opportunities for a laugh.
"So what, we just pick the lock, waltz in, make ourselves a drink and waltz out?" she asked, pausing to think a moment. "Sounds fine to me!" She grinned widely, leaning forward like a little kid with a big secret. "Shall we?"

Will grinned as she seemed impressed by his extra talent of lock picking and made the joke about what he didn’t do. “Not much I can’t do, only a few things I won’t, and some I probably could if I kept my eyes closed.” He said with a light chuckle. He loved that Taz was the type of girl who could handle joking around like that. She also wasn’t the delusional type who thought that because they were friends with him that they’d be able to turn him straight. She was very aware of the plutonic nature of their friendship which allowed them to be close.
“That’s the plan” Will responded as she stated their idea for the evening. It wasn’t anything too detailed but it was enough to get them their goal of less boredom for the night, and with minimal risk involved. He got up as she seemed ready go as grabbed his jacket. “After you”, he said opening up his door, feeling the energy surge through him, knowing how fun this night would be.

“Yeah, I don’t wanna know what you can do with your eyes closed” Taz teased, swatting him on the arm and laughing. It was probably a safe bet that anything that fell into that category was better left behind closed doors, with her on the opposite side of them. “I’ll let you keep that to yourself, in more ways than one.” Will wasn’t like most of the guys she knew in that she didn’t need to watch her humour with him. They could be as dirty or crude with their jokes as they liked and they both knew there was never any alternative meaning behind it. If she’d said the same thing to any of the other guys she knew, she’d have been worried they might think she was using reverse psychology on them or something just as ridiculous.
Pushing herself off the sofa, she grabbed her own jacket and slung it over her shoulder, stepping past him through the door. “Let’s get this show on the road. And you better teach me that trick, I’m always forgetting my keys and I’m sick of climbing in through windows.”

Will chuckled as Taz teased him about his comment about things he could do with his eyes closed. Truth was he had dated girls in high school and even slept with a couple so he knew if he closed his eyes now, it would be possible again, just he’d definitely be fantasizing about someone with a much different anatomy as he did so. “Alright, I’ll keep my dirty little skills to myself” He agreed with another laugh.
Will put on the leather jacket he had grabbed as he waited for Taz to get up and get her own things. Once she stepped through to door he had opened for her, he followed her out, locking the door behind him. “See its obvious they teach you nothing useful in those schools if they don’t even teach you to lock pick. Trust me, its one of the most useful skills you’ll ever learn…maybe next week I’ll show you how to hotwire a car” He told her with a grin as he headed down the street. The café wasn’t too far so he figured walking would be better than driving, plus having a car parked outside would draw more unnecessary attention to them.

Taz shuddered as Will spoke, the concept of his ‘dirty little skills’ a little too disturbing to even contemplate. “Please do” she joked, trying to feign nonchalance. Sure, if he was straight, he’d pretty much be her ideal guy despite the age gap. He was good-looking in his own quirky way, funny, totally outrageous, and even had a sensitive side when she was having one of her moments of insecurity. In fact, if he was straight... “Oh nooooo! Nonononono! Will!” she exclaimed, covering her mouth with one hand to muffle her voice as she slapped at his shoulder with the back of the other. “Did you have to...ugh!” She glared daggers at him, trying to wipe her mind of the unbidden, and most unwelcome images. Yes, he might be her type in practically every way, but the thought of them being anything other than friends was just too weird to think about. “One day I am going to kill you for that line of talk. Those mental pictures are something I never, ever want to see again” she groaned as they turned along the street after him, chuckling at the turn the conversation had taken, grateful for the change.
“I know! It’s pointless. I swear, I should just drop out and take lessons from you. It’d be a lot more practical” she teased as she caught up with him, jutting her hip to the side and bumping him, grinning as she tucked an arm through his. This was the life, hanging out, doing what they liked, letting loose, who needed tv and clubs? “Glad to hear it, that’s another set of keys I always lose, my car keys. You’re just full of surprises aren’t ya? And who knows, maybe I’ll teach you to cook sometime, or even,” she glanced sideways at him teasingly, “how to make coffee.”

Will looked over at Taz as if she was completely crazy as she started covering her mouth, exclaiming No before slapping at his shoulder. “What! What’d I do?” He asked her, completely confused as to what was going on in that head of hers. “No correct that, cause I didn’t do anything” He added and then laughed it off. She was definitely crazy, it was why the Tazmanian Devil nickname fit her so well. She would say and do the most random things at times, but he appreciated her for it. He laughed harder as she explained of having mental pictures that she never wanted to see. “Oh come on, you know those images are the most excitement you’ve had all week, at least until we get to the café”
Will grinned as she mentioned taking lessons from him being more practical. “You know I’d encourage that, except if I had to put up with high school til graduation so do you” He said not wanting her to drop out. As bad of an influence as he could be at times, he knew she had potential and would never encourage her to throw that away by not getting a degree. She could be something, like his brother. “I like being unpredictable…the guys like it too” he said with a smirk. “Hey you can show me how you make coffee tonight even, I’m sure we can find everything we need for that”

“Oh please, that kind of excitement, I don’t need” Taz grumbled, nudging him with her elbow. “You’re my friend Will, I do not need images of you...like that. And you did do something, if it hadn’t been for you talking about your ‘dirty little skills’ as you called them, I wouldn’t need uber strength brain soap right now. Meanie.” Giving him a sulky glare, her expression quickly softened into the grin that was almost permanent when she was around Will, his laughter completely contagious. “I just hope tonight’s as exciting as you make it out to be or you owe me, because I cannot go around with that in my head.”
Taking her arm from his and slipping it around Will’s waist, she hugged him as tightly as she could with one arm. “Fine, but you’re coming to my graduation. If I have to put up with the gown and hat thing, you have to be there to suffer through it with me.” Frowning, she pursed her lips to one side, thinking for a moment. “Maybe I should skip wearing pants under there, I could moon the principal. No point in going through allllll that without going out with a bang.” She leaned her head on his shoulder as they walked, glad she at least had Will to spend time with. He was the best friend she had and pretty much the only person who bothered about her any more. The concept of graduating without him there was completely unthinkable. “Who knows, maybe you’ll have a ‘plus one’ by then too” she added, glancing up at him and winking.
“Yup, unpredictable is good. I like it too. Never seems to work for me though. Guys can be unpredictable, not girls. We’re the little angels, we’re supposed to be predictable to a fault.” Grimacing, she made a retching sound, disgusted by the idea. “Please, just promise me. If I ever get predictable, will you just shoot me? Or any other method of execution is fine, I just cannot bear to be predictable. That’s almost as bad as being...” she paused dramatically, raising the back of one hand to her forehead as though about to faint, “normal!”
Stopping suddenly as he mentioned about teaching him to make coffee, she stared after him in shock. “Oh, please don’t tell me you can’t even make coffee. Seriously? It’s boiled water and powder. Or cold water, powder and a paper cone if you’re using a coffee maker. You can’t get much easier than that. Tell you what, you teach me the stuff you know, the clean stuff!” she added quickly, raising her voice to make sure she got her point across, “and I’ll teach you what I know, mostly cooking and coffee making, but maybe a few pointers about cleaning too. If you’re gonna attract a guy, you’ve gotta know how to keep house my man.”

“Any kind of excitement is good” Will joked with her. “And best friend or not, you know you find me sexy, its always what you can’t have that is the most enticing” He joked with her. “And I can’t help it if I’m a man of many talents, you just need to get that brain of yours more action so you’re not so easily dirtied”
Will just shook his head laughing as she mentioned hoping tonight was as exciting as he made it out to be. He knew it would be a rush. Breaking and entering was always fun. The thrill of being where you shouldn’t when you shouldn’t. He put his arm around her shoulder as she came over to his side, slipping hers around his waist telling him to be at her graduation. “Fine I’ll be there with one of those big foam fingers, or maybe a blowhard that I can use when they call your name”
He laughed as she mentioned that he might have a plus one by then. “I could pick up a guy the night before if you want me to bring a date. I have a plus one whenever I want one” He told her, never having really settled down with anyone.
“Predictable girls, one of the reasons I don’t like girls that way” He told her. “You’re more of a guy I guess. You’re like a guy in drag” He told her laughing as she said to shoot her if she ever became predictable or normal. “You my dear will never be either, and if you are I’ll start spiking all your drinks”
Will stopped as Taz stopped walking, mocking him about not making coffee. “I know how to make the regular stuff just not those fancy blends with flavors and shots of stuff in them. Cooking I’m not so good at, can definitely use pointers there” He laughed again as she mentioned him keeping house to attract a guy. “Oh I’ll train up to make some guy a great wife”

Taz rolled her eyes and looked sideways at Will, one eyebrow raised. “Yes, of course. You’re the sexiest man alive, Will Adams. If it wasn’t for your orientation I’d be dating you myself. One day I will manage to capture you. Be still my beating heart, et cetera, et cetera” she droned sarcastically. “You’ve really gotta get that ego of yours seen to, you’re gonna get a hernia one of these days, lugging it around like that. And as for your many talents, I do not need more action for my brain. You know perfectly well you intended to dirty my brain, and I don’t appreciate having my brain led into thoughts like that by someone so corrupted as yourself.”
She snorted with laughter at the thought of the principal’s face when her name was called at the graduation, hiding her face against his arm. “Oh man! The big kahuna would have a fit if you did either of those!” she exclaimed before looking up at him, her eyes shining mischievously. “I dare you to do both!”
Shrugging, Taz kicked at a pebble on the sidewalk at his comment about a date. “You don’t have to bring anyone, you know. It’s just a thought for you. You should find somebody. Train yourself up to be that good wife, with a little help from me.” She stopped walking as he did and looked up at him, raising an incredulous eyebrow. “A guy in drag huh?” she asked as the comment finally sank in. “How does a girl manage to be like a guy in drag when she dresses like a guy? Wouldn’t that just make me a guy to begin with, just with a female figure?”

Will gave a grin from ear to ear as she called him the sexiest man alive. "Feels good to admit it, love, doesn't it?" He told her, ignoring her sarcasm. "And I'm doing just fine carrying this ego, haven't you heard what an attractive feature confidence is?" He said giving a chuckle as she told him how she didnt appreciate someone as corrupt as him leading her brain to thoughts like that. "You know you loved every minute of it"
Will could see Taz enjoying the idea he put into her head of his actions at her graduation. He knew she'd know he'd fully go through with his proposition, no matter how much of a spectacle he'd be making of himself or her in doing so. He laughed as she dared him to do both. "You're on!"
He listened more seriously as she told him to find someone and she'd help him become a good wife. "You really think I'm ever gonna find someone I dont get bored with in a matter of weeks at best? I'd make a great wife, with your help, but not sure its even in me to find a husband" He said honestly, knowing he'd never been the settle down type of guy. He smirked as she repeated his guy in drag comment. He waved off her comment of how her clothing made her in drag. "I dont know how, but those breasts confuse everything no matter what you wear" He joked.
They only had to walk a few more feet before turning a corner and seeing the little cafe up ahead of them. "Our adventure awaits" He said motioning ahead of them.
