With Carmen and Eleazar finding away around the splitting up idea, Kate could sigh with relief. She would hate to be separated from any member of her family even for the shortest of periods.
“Its true that traveling separate would work better. Perhaps I was a little hasty to suggest different destination.” She half smiled “Before we decide how to get there, we need to choose where there is.” She laughed and stood up. She padded slowly over to the window and looked out at the still falling snow.
“A change in climate and weather will be nice.” She said to herself as much to the other.

Tanya sat perched on the counter as the plans for a trip were being made. A wrinkle creased her forehead as she looked over to Irina as she teased her about Edward, scrunching her nose slightly she sighed, "We're friends Irina." Tanya took in a deep breath as splitting up was mentioned and immediately was cast aside. Relaxing slightly as Carmen and then Eleazar spoke she waited patiently till some plan was devised as to their destinations. Many ideas would be thrown into this pot but they would all have to decide on one or at least one to start out with. Tanya smoothed her shirt and laughed to herself as she said, "How about Australia, New Zealand, or Peru." The places endless in her mind one after the other popping up and showing fresh scenery and things.

Kate listened to Tanya’s defense of her relationship to Edward, she knew her sister had always wanted more from the first of Carlisle’s sons, yet he had never shown any real interest in return. As Tanya suggested other countries and continents Kate couldn’t help but wonder if she was running from the pain of been shunned. Kate didn’t want to leave this continent. International travel posed more risks; the passports, the sun light, the searches – the list was endless of the risks it incurred.
She thought for a moment before speaking again. “Brother, sisters what about a trip south. A road trip all the way down we could stop off places and visit with old friends along the way. We need not travel in the same car; just meet up at each stopping point along the way.” She looked to each of her family in turn. To her this made the perfect sense a extended trip with numerous opportunities and adventures for each of their tastes and souls. “We could go all the way to the tip of South American.” She said with an encouraging hopeful smile
With this many personalities in one family it was often hard to please each family member, yet Kate believed this option to hold something for everyone. She looked to Carmen and Eleazar to make the final decisions they had seemed to head the family since joining; a mother and father unit, figures of authority and love.

Carmen looked sympathetically at Tanya as she retorted to the comments about the youngest looking Cullen boy. She honestly hoped that Tanya would find another man that she could love truly, the way she and Eleazar loved each other. It made her sad to see her sister pine over a man that would, in all likelihood, never be hers. She remembered the awkward time between falling in love with Eleazar and finding out that he felt the same way. For them it didn’t take long, but for it to be unrequited. She really did hope she found her soul mate.
Turning her mind back to the proposed trip she smiled at the idea of a new climate and sighed wistfully, missing the heat. She still remembered traversing her homeland, across Europe and through to Italy. Though she hadn’t enjoyed her time with the Volturi in the end, she would never give up the time she spent there, because it brought the lightest, brightest star of her existence to her. She would love the Volturi for that.
“I do miss the sun,” she said, eventually, linking on to what her sister had said. Her face fell a little, though. “How do we get around the long haul flight, though? Australia would mean definite sunlight on the plane… unless you mean us to run or sail?”
She knew that either would be dangerous. Though the Pacific was pretty much deserted, people would notice a family swimming across it. She was highly conscious of security issues, not wanting to advertise themselves to either vampires or humans.
"South American may be the better option."

Eleazar stayed out of all of the teasing about Tanya and Edward. Yes he had hoped the two might have hit it off, as it would have been good for both of them to find someone, but he wouldn't bring up the issue now. He was far to old to partake in that kind of teasing, and being the only male of the family he also didnt think it would quite sound appropriate coming from him. Even if it was all in good fun, it was a topic of joking that was better left amongst the sisters.
"South America does sound like the best option." Eleazar agreed with his wife and Kate's suggestion. They both brought up some good points, it was comforting to see how careful all of them were being. "We have several friends we could visit along the way, and there are some nice areas without people for miles where we could enjoy the sun. Maybe find a nice beach area on the equator"

Irina rolled her eyes at Tanya. They definitely seem like just friends, at least on Tanya's side. But whatever, she would not bring it up again...for now.
She turned to look at Tanya as she spoke of different places they could go. Irina could care less now, as long as it was away from the snow. She glanced quickly outside the nearby window. Yeah, the snow was getting old.
"Yeah, sounds good to me," Irina commented on the plan to go to South America. The more they talked about leaving Denali the more excited she got. "When are we going to go?" she asked, brushing a stray strand of her blond hair from her face.

The idea of a beach and somewhere different peeked Kate’s interest, not to mention the tropical prey. Kate always enjoyed a change of scenery, but only if it was her family; been apart was too heart wrenching.
Kate nodded in agreement with Irina. The idea was a very good one. As for leaving Kate was a seize the moment kind of person.
“Perhaps we should leave soon. We all agreed we’re bored with the hunting her and the weather.” She suggested. “And the sooner we leave the sooner we can visit our old friends along the way.”
The idea of the beaches and the visits spurred Kate along, though she knew the final decision would be Carmen and Eleazer’s.

Carmen’s eyes roamed to each of her sisters’ faces as they voiced their own opinions on their little trip. A decision had been asked for and she could almost feel the sisters’ eyes upon her and Eleazar, even if they weren’t actually looking at them. Somehow, when they had joined the coven, which was torn apart by the betrayal and loss of its mother, the two of them had assumed the leadership roles, not that it really took much other than to make decisions. By this point Carmen was completely comfortable in the role. Perhaps she wasn’t as confident as Eleazar, but she wasn’t afraid of gathering her sisters’ thoughts.
“Bueno,” she said, as Kate added her own opinion on the matter, upping the ante by suggesting that they leave soon. As a natural traveller, she didn’t mind packing up and leaving on a wing and a prayer. Or at least she didn’t used to mind it, but she had the others to think of now. They had all come to the consensus that they were growing weary of Alaska, but that didn’t mean that they were all ready to drop what they were doing to travel. “If that is what everyone wants, then I see no reason to delay…”
She turned her head to look at Eleazar, just to make sure he agreed with her. Whilst she didn’t so much take her cues from Eleazar, she did like to make sure that he supported what she was saying. She lifted her head, exposing her long neck more, addressing the group. “Someone should tell the Cullens – it is polite to announce our arrival before we get there, si?”

Tanya smiled softly as her family collectively mapped out the next couple of weeks, even months. It was a comfort to have bouts of spontaneity; centuries of existence would be boring without them. She had agreed that some traveling would do them all good, and gratefully watched Carmen and Eleazar gently lead them through the rest of the decision. They had been lost without their mother for a very long time, they had been delighted with their two new family members who were much natural leaders than the three sisters could have been on their own. She noticed Eleazar's silence as her sisters teased her, and appreciated him even more. Edward's rejection was indeed hurtful, but she didn't mind having him as a topic of conversations. They were friends, of course, and Tanya had happy memories of him.
The Cullens were mentioned once more, and she agreed with Carmen. Even thousand year old vampires still had manners. "I'll call Carlisle," she volunteered with a tiny grin, expecting a new wave of teasing from her sisters and not caring. She would take it in stride, as she always did, and look forward to seeing their cousins. "How long do you think we will be away? I supposed we can spare a few months." Excitement was now evident in her voice and pleasant features. She hadn't been south of the Canadian border for quite a while and everyone's enthusiasm was catching on.

Eleazar smiled down at Carmen who he had his arm around as she made the decision. He gave her a slight nod letting her know he completely supported the decision of the group. Carmen was a strong enough woman not to need his approval to do anything but it was still nice knowing that she cared about his opinion and wanted the two of them to agree on things, which they usually did.
Eleazar looked over at Tanya as she said she'd call Carlisle to inform him of their arrival. "Good. I'd say we could be there in a day or two depending on how soon we want to leave" He said, estimating the time it would take to get from Alaska to Washington. "A few months would be a lovely vacation for us all I think"

So the trip was decided and Kate was truly excited about the prospect of a change of scenery and fresh pastures. Kate enjoyed travel; new people, new places and new experiences. She looked at each of her family’s faces and caught the sight that each of them were just as excited about the up coming travel plans. The chance to visit the Cullens was also a happy prospect.
“How should we leave? And travel?” Kate asked “Convoy, run, fly?” She asked each offering its own challenges and its own rewards. Kate had no real preference over the mode of travel or their final destination, but she had places she would enjoy visiting along the way. She would leave those places of interest for the actual trip.

Carmen turned her head towards Kate as she offered to notify the Cullens of their visit and cast a smile in her direction. The excitement in her voice at the prospect of leaving the white pastures of Alaska in favour of the much rainier climes of Forks was contagious to all so it seemed. She couldn’t blame them, really, though secretly in her heart of hearts, if all things were possible, she would love to visit a place much more like the warm hillsides of her first, original home. It wasn’t something she thought of much, though, as it was an impossibility, for even if they could visit Spain, they certainly couldn’t expose themselves on the scrub-strewn hillsides of the region she knew so well. Oh well, she had chosen to come here and she was happy with the decision.
“I agree,” she said in response to Eleazar’s optimistic view of the vacation. However, as Kate thought more about the practicalities of the arrangement, Carmen’s lips pouted and twisted a little in thought. She knew that there were many options open to them as vampires, but that they all posed different challenges. To lock themselves in close proximity to humans in public transport was a mistake, especially given most of her sisters’ reclusive nature towards their human kin. Then again, running the entire way from Alaska down to the Cullens’ abode in Forks was also not guaranteed to go without problems.
“A compromise, maybe?” she asked, after a few moments’ thought. “Travel light, run until Canada and then get a car or two for the rest of the journey? It will avoid unnecessary attention drawn to us. Either that or we can just run to the south?”

Kate smiled back at her beautiful olive skinned sister as the conversation developed into actual plans. She sat back surveying the group as Carmen and Eleazar discussed the best way for the adventure to take place. Whatever the mode of transport there would always be issues and hurdles to overcome, it was the nature of their species and size of their family that caused such problems.
Whatever the plans that would come from the talk Kate was excited at the chance to visit their cousins the Cullens, it was so rare that all of them could be in the same place with out causing suspicions. A group as large as what they were all together was certain to cause problems with their self proclaimed leaders, a meeting with them was something Kate wished to avoid at all costs. However, she didn’t want to miss out on the chance of a ‘family’ reunion of sorts by hiding from the Volturi.
Pulling out of her worries Kate looked to Carmen as she spoke of a compromise her words lilted with the accent of her mother tongue. Her idea made sense and seemed the most simple to execute, as always. Looking to Eleazar Kate waited for their him to speak up on the decision.

Eleazar could see the delight on the faces of his family members. All of the women seemed to be enthused about the prospect of a vacation and a visit with their Olympic coven relatives. Kate was the next one to speak, offering up suggestions about their traveling. Eleazar looked around the group, wondering what the consensus was and if anyone seemed to have a preference.
Eleazar then smiled pleased at the suggestion of his mate. Carmen was always the sensible one, finding a way to make everyone happy with a suggestion. He agreed with his wife that staying away from humans for the most part would be the easiest for their family. From what he could see none of them seemed to object to Carmen's suggestion and and he could see a few pairs of eyes on him waiting for his decision. He felt honored for their faith in his leadership, though he never tried to claim it.
"I think thats an excellent idea, I think we could enjoy a light run and then getting a couple cars...Canada does seem an ideal choice for that" He said smiling down at Carmen. "A car would certainly save the wear on our clothes should the weather turn bad"
