{......tag Don and any other cops.....early New Moon....After the bonfires....maybe next day....or a few days later...)
It was rare that Sam was summoned anywhere, been the Alpha of the pack and a big guy in general it wasn’t often he was bossed around or called for anything. Though Charlie was a different matter, like a tribe elder Sam obeyed the call from him getting in his rusty older then old truck and heading to town after the chief of police had called him. Emily had taken the call and passed on the message saying that Charlie hadn’t explained why he wanted to see him, just that he wanted to talk to him. Sam was sure it was about some sort of sighting, maybe a local had seen one of the pack and got spooked….maybe Charlie had seen one of them? Whoever had been seen and by who Sam made a mental note to talk to the whole pack about been more careful, the pack was growing and so was the risk of discovery.
Pulling into the somewhat familiar streets of Forks town Sam kept his eyes out for any sign of the blood suckers; Forks was their territory. They’d left, he had to remind himself of that, they’d gone and left Bella behind something he was thankful for. After Sam had found her in the woods and heard that their whole Coven had left he’d raced back to the Rez to start the celebrations with his brothers. The best thing for Bella was to be left by them, regardless of what they pretended to be Sam didn’t trust them as far as he could throw them.
Pulling up in front of the station a little outside of town Sam killed the engine and hopped out pulling at the neck of his t shirt and feeling constrained and hot even in the thin cotton material. Emily had insisted pointing out that going around half naked one the rez was on thing, but even Charlie might find that attire a little unusual given the weather and surroundings. Thinking about Em Sam couldn’t help but smile, a natural reaction to a thought about her.
Taking the steps in one leap Sam pulled open the door, checking to keep it from slamming back against the wall with his strength. The office inside was warmer a fact he wasn’t happy about feeling already too hot, Sam hoped he wouldn’t have to stay long. There was a guy behind the front desk, a big guy even compared to Sam himself who was by far the biggest on the Rez. “Hey.” he nodded, “Is Charlie in?” He asked looking around the small police station and not seeing him, nor had his car been outside a fact that irritated Sam, but he kept his anger in check.
