The clouds were a grey blur across the sky that seemed to go on forever. There was a gentle, but chilling breeze in the air that made you think this just wasn't your day. In the middle of Decemeber, you could have expected worse. Picking her way across tree roots carefully, a japanese vampire broke through the dense forest at human speed, and bound into the clearing. It was beginning to sprinkle, but Mirai didn't mind. She welcomed the lonely, usually hated rain, when others would not.
Mirai's black shoulder brushing hair caught in the breeze, blowing into her face, but Mirai was lost, and so she did not care. Before her in a lonely field, stood ghostly figures of her parents. They were blood soaked, and were staring at her as if she were to be something to fear. Perhaps to them, she was. Perhaps to her sister, she was. Perhaps to the world, she was. But to Mirai, she was herself, for she could be nothing more, and nothing less. Always.
Mirai's parent's death replayed in the field as she approached them, the killer was unseen. Her mother was flown to the floor, pinned down by something invisible. She shrieked for mercy, for her to leave her alone, but the killer had not heard. And it did not matter. A ring of teeth appeared on the woman's neck, and blood sloppily ran onto the ground. Mirai stared, blankly, feeling no sorrow, feeling no regret. They never loved her anyway, they didn't deserve her love back either.
After the girl's mother was throughly slain, the killer had rounded on Mirai's father. He angerly cowarded in the corner, calling for help, and then he too was thrown to the floor and fed upon. He was greedily robbed of blood. Mirai stared, her feelings of this sence failing her. Then it stopped, and they disappeared. Mirai's little sister was now infront of her. She was not quiet so bloodly, but was looking revengeful. She screamed angerly, "Look what you've done to me! I'm like you! A freak, a bloodsucker. A murderer!"
Mirai simply stood infront of her, blank, unspeaking. "There was nothing I could do for you. Would you have rather me killed you instead?" The tone was flat, and rejected. Somehow, Mirai knew what the answer would be, if the girl was real. Yes. Mirai was deeply troubled by her past, and now found herself, in a field of memories.

The young vampire's vision faded, almost like a blackout as she closed her eyes. Once she opened them again, and her focus became clear, her sister was gone, replaced by a newcomer. Inhaling rather quietly, she replyed, "Never." It was a quietly, fast word, which barely made sense to the question. Never, she repeated in her head. She had been lost for 20 years, and now welcomed it as home. So truely, she could never be lost, because it was who she was.
Glancing up from the ground into the girl's face, Mirai said, "I could ask you the same thing. Not that I care, but what are you doing out here?" The rain that had started quiet sometime ago began to pour, plastering the girl's black hair to her face and neck, along with her clothes, making her seem much smaller than she already did.
[sorry, not much for me to reply on]
