((Late-Twilight. Thought of this on my way home from the city. Posted as a one-shot, unless Laurent wants to continue it.))
A sharp hiss broke the silence that blanketed the forest, and Victoria came to a stop at the edge of a bright clearing. She had been there twice already, the scent trail only sending her in repetitive circles with the same end. She was downright pissed off now, lashing out her anger on an innocent tree beside her and sending bark flying. There was nothing here. It was a trick, a set-up to keep them busy and off the real trail. James was right, as he always was with this sort of thing, and now guaranteed he was having all the fun by himself in Phoenix. Jealousy began to course through her and she calculated how long it would take to run there, wondering if she could possibly make it in time for the grand finale. In truth, it was her own fault she was still in Forks. Victoria didn't believe the Cullens would be stupid enough to take Bella to the most obvious place, so she elected to stay behind while James went off on a wild goose chase. But when the trail wound around itself and led nowhere, it became obvious that she had been wrong. It was not the most pleasant feeling.
Victoria decided to take the chance and run to Phoenix. Its not like it would be exhausting. If anything, it would be a waste of her time. But she couldn't simply let the opportunity pass without knowing if maybe she might have a little fun as well. It was likely that James would already be finished with the wretched human by the time she got there, but there was always the chance that he decided to play with his food just a little bit longer than usual. If he was already done, though, there were certainly going to be heated words between them. And perhaps a little more. She couldn't wait to see the look on Edward's pathetic face when his darling human lay at their feet, stone cold dead and drained of blood. How could he stoop so low as to love someone as weak and inferior as her? In Victoria's humble opinion, he was a disgrace to the name of Vampire.
Her light and swift footsteps carried her quickly over the ground, barely disturbing the forest floor or making a sound. Her shocking orange-red hair carried in the wind behind her, fanning out and, in the blur of her movement, looking like a flame amongst the green growth of the forest. Her breathing came in unnecessarily slow, even breaths. Despite it being near freezing outside, the cold didn't affect her bare feet. The furs she wore around herself were purely for appearances' sake, not to mention she quite liked the look of them on that Alaskan girl. Victoria ran for an incredibly long time, never stopping to see where she was, always knowing where to go. Being a part of James aided in finding him when they were separated, it was like a silent beacon calling her home. It was getting stronger now, and she knew she was drawing extremely close to Phoenix.
And suddenly, it was gone.
Victoria, always catlike in her movement and grace, tripped over a rock and stumbled, her footsteps halting as quickly as possible. She stood there, more confused in her life than she ever had been, and more lost than she ever felt before. What was happening? It was as if half of her being had been swiftly ripped apart and thrown away, hidden deep somewhere out of her reach. She felt completely and utterly alone for the first time since she met James.
James.
No, that was simply impossible. Victoria didn't allow her thoughts to entertain such a cruel and horrible possibility.
There was only one way to find out. She was close enough to Phoenix to have a general idea of where to go, so she picked up her feet and took off towards it. She pushed herself harder then she ever had, not caring if anyone saw her whip by through the back streets and alleys. The familiar feeling of James was gone, and everything she felt now seemed completely foreign to her. It was wrong. It felt now like there was no purpose to her life, her entire existence. She was a black hole; blind and forever in the dark. There had to be some explanation. Something logical, because his death simply wasn't logical. She shuddered deeply at the mere thought.
A cloud of thick, black smoke rose above the tall buildings like a signal, and Victoria knew deep down that is where she had to go. Sirens could be heard in the distance, and as she drew closer it was a deafening sound that she would never forget. Rounding a corner, an incredibly large pile of grey ash and bright red coal appeared before her, the source of the suffocating smoke that billowed out into the clean air above. She froze in her spot, and suddenly all her senses were lost on her. She couldn't hear, smell or see anything. None of this was real. But the rational part of her mind that was somehow still in place told her that despite what she wanted, it most certainly was real. And it suddenly hit her like a brick wall, a million emotions overwhelming her body and mind completely. She was too late, and he was dead. As an immortal, she never gave death a second thought, and now it was punching her in the face. Dry sobs wracked her body. She wanted to cry, to let the salty tears spill over and let it out. She wanted to punch something, but couldn't find the strength. Her mind broke. A million little pieces.
She didn't know what to do. Lost, alone and broken. Pain consumed her consciousness. The humans were on the other side of the destroyed building, hidden by the steady flow of smoke that rose from the burning coals, their fire hoses dousing it with cool water. Somewhere in that mess were the frayed remains of her sanity. Only two things were coherent then: James was gone, and Edward Cullen was responsible.
Fury then swept through her pain, mingling with it. She had never felt such intense anger before as she did now. It consumed her. What little ounce of self-control she had left stopped her from massacring the entire block. Cullen was going to pay dearly for what he did to protect that pathetic excuse for a human being. Tit for tat. Isabella Swan was going to die, and it wasn't going to be quick.
Suddenly then, the pain washed over her once more and she forgot all about revenge. She had to get out of there, quick, before the humans found her and bombarded her with questions and accusations. Finding the will to move, Victoria sprinted away from the scene and ran until the familiar sense of calm entered her mind. It was a dry, dense forest, and she had no idea where she was. It didn't matter, nothing mattered to her anymore. Her legs buckled under her and she crumpled to the ground, wrapping herself in a fetal position. She couldn't make sense of it. How could someone just disappear from the world so completely as James had? She realized then that she had nothing to remind herself of him. No trinket, no clothes, nothing. Just memories that were already fading.
If it was possible to break down to nothing, to just merely exist, then that's what Victoria had accomplished. She was nothing without him, and never would be anything again.

((OOC: Sorry Victoria I haven't been on the Laurent account and I just now spotted the thread! My bad! ;D))
Laurent ran back and forth between where he had left, and where he was going. Laurent had made the right choice, hadn't he? Yes, he had to believe he did...There was slim chance he would have made it through a brawl with the Cullens. It was best that he stay as far away as possible from this conflict. His words still rung fresh in his mind. I'm sorry for what has been unleashed here. Truly sorry...James is absolutely lethal!
Why had James started this? Why did he have to play his little games! A better question though was why had the Cullens been so worked up? It was a mere human, and they were vampires...it made no sense...it was incredibly illogical! Laurent had seen her as a snack, something for dinner, but no this girl was...what their pet?
Laurent needn't be talking about this. He had done his part in it, and was now on his way to a new life. One where he was not a nomad, but a member of the Denali clan. He had decided to take the long way. Well actually, Laurent had gone the complete opposite way of Alaska. He had gone south...to where he was heading was unclear. Laurent checked to see where he was...Arizona. How had he traveled so far?
Laurent decided he'd head to one more state south, and if he still wanted to be part of the Denalis after, he would head there. Laurent was about to begin running when he smelled smoke, it wasn't normal smoke...the thing burning was sweet, it was a vampire. He set his course toward the scent and came across a burning building. He recognized the scent, it was James. So the Cullens won...Wow thought Laurent. That was surprising, James had never lost one of his games before.
There hidden in the smoke was flaming hair. Laurent froze,Victoria. If Victoria saw him what would she do? Really all Laurent had done was choose not to be a part of this fight, and for good reason. Laurent clutched his fists and walked slowly toward Victoria. He could tell she was in pain. James had been her soul mate and now that he was gone Victoria would probably want revenge. Softly Laurent said, "Hello Victoria...I'm so sorry" Laurent couldn't really find any words to say to her. "I'm trying life as a vegetarian vampire...with the Denalis" He added hastily, Laurent didn't want Victoria to think he was with the Cullens now.

The pure hurt was so intense it overwhelmed her being, and Victoria was lost to the real world existing outside her own head. She physically felt numb, but emotionally she was in a thousand scattered pieces. Nothing like this had ever consumed her so completely aside from the love she had for James. Dry sobs wracked her body and she let several cries of agony escape her ruby lips, the sound so pathetic it could've made one of the Cullens feel sorry for her. A branch that she had grasped in her pain snapped under the pressure and she dropped the pieces, clawing at the dark brown earth beneath her. Leaves tangled in her bright red hair and dirt smudged on her flawless pale face, but the normally vain vampire didn't give it a thought. Vanity was not something she cared to think about at that point. They had shared a passionate relationship, but it was also so much more than that. The absolute love of her life was gone, and she would have to live eternity without him.
She finally understood what true loss meant. She heard about it, read about it in papers and saw it in the movies, but she had never experienced it so fully. Confusion was a great part of the emotions she felt now. But a great, black emptiness is what dominated her mind. A deep void that would never be filled. She had once observed a wife grieve over her husband that James had slaughtered with piqued interest, fascinated with how the woman seemed to go through several different emotions in a short span of time. Surprise, hurt, loss, grief and anger. She didn't have to feel them for very long, however. Victoria had taken care of that. But now, as she experienced the same thing tenfold, there was no one to take care of her. She thought about going to the Volturi and finding her end there, or even just recklessly attacking the Cullens on their own ground, but none of her ideas seemed to bring with it the sense of satisfaction. If she committed suicide just to be with James again, there was no guarantee. She was a vampire, after all. There was no known afterlife. Eternal damnation.
In her pain she heard familiar footsteps nearby, and she was surprised he wasn't in Alaska, where he so passionately declared he was going just a few hours before. She didn't raise her head to look at him, or say anything to acknowledge his presence. Laurent was beside her now, speaking softly in her ear, but she barely registered the words. He was sorry? How could he possibly know what she was going through, having to endure for the rest of her existence? He had no clue. James was GONE. She would never hear his voice again or feel his touch on her skin. Perhaps death was the best option, if there was even the slightest chance she may feel that again. Memories wouldn't keep her sane.
At Laurent's mention of joining the animal-loving Denali clan in Alaska, she couldn't help but let out a wild, unstable and sarcastic laugh that would make one question her sanity. "You, a beast drinking vampire? Could you stoop any lower?" She remembered their hunts when James was with them, remembered his lust for human blood. He wouldn't make it with the Denali's.
She rolled over then, her crimson eyes looking up at the treetops in an unfocused daze. Her mind shifted back to thinking about James again, trying desperately to cling to what she had. It simply wasn't enough. She realized then that she took everything they had for granted. She never appreciated the time they spent together. But now she would have to love him without him. She was on her own.

Laurent squatted next to Victoria, she was crumpled on the ground...she was broken. Laurent saw her sorrow, he had not felt that kind of pain in his life, one of losing your love, your life. He wanted to place a hand on her shoulder, tell her it would be okay, but Victoria wasn't one for compassion, and though Laurent would never share this with Victoria he felt it would never be okay.
Just then Victoria spoke, her voice was rough and distant, it sounded as if Victoria had gone with James, and what was left was just a lifeless memory of her. Laurent gave a weak smile to Victoria and chuckled at her comment, "I said I'm going to try a new life...that doesn't mean I can't cheat every once in a while." Victoria rolled on her back and stared at the trees above.
Victoria's eyes were blurry, and Laurent wasn't sure if she was registering anything at this moment. Maybe Laurent could offer her some advice...but what could he say to a broken hearted vampire? He would a least have to try and say something. "Uhm...Victoria, I know you are in pain, but don't do anything stupid, something you'll regret...What I mean is don't try to get revenge on the Cullens, their too strong." He wasn't sure if this was helpful, but revenge just seemed a foolish idea. She hadn't mentioned it, but warning her now was better than letting her think up some kind of revenge for the Cullens.

It was true that all that Victoria was went with James when he died, and an empty shell of her former life stayed in its place. It would be impossible to continue on as she had before, he had been her everything. Her heart, her soul, her life... She cursed his desire for the hunt. If he hadn't been so fixed on Isabella Swan, he never would have gone to Phoenix, and she wouldn't be in the state she was now. His selfish act caused her the greatest pain a person could ever feel in their lifetime, yet she couldn't find the strength to blame him. Edward Cullen had become obsessed with a human, put his life on the line to protect her, and it is the only reason James was ever intrigued in the first place. The fact that a large clan of vampires were incredibly protective of a simple human being was what gave him the thrill. It was the greatest game ever played.
Anger now seethed into her being, and she did nothing to prevent the fury from overwhelming her senses. The empty hole remained, but now she was hell bent on revenge. Edward Cullen loved Isabella Swan with every fibre of his being, as Victoria had with James. The only way to even the score would be to cause him the same pain, to shred his mind to pieces. It would have to be done in front of him, there was no way Victoria was going to allow him to just simply find her. And she wasn't going to be merciful about it, either. There was nothing left of James for her to cling to, so there would be nothing left of Bella. She would be ripped apart until she was food for the birds.
"...don't do anything stupid, something you'll regret..." Laurent had said, attempting to give her some sort of advice. Anything she did from here on out would be for a purpose, and she wouldn't regret any of it. If her plans failed and she was killed, all the better. She didn't think about living after killing Bella, there would be nothing to live for anyway. If the Cullens gave her the gift of death, then she would be thankful, and hope that maybe James was waiting for her somewhere.
Laurent was right on one point though, the Cullens were incredibly strong. There were seven of them, and one of her. And they had a mind-reader too, something that would prove difficult should she end up in combat with him. Her actions would be known a split second before she attempted them. She had to draw Edward away. Victoria needed help, but she didn't know where to get it from. The Denali's were friends with the Cullens, and would never help her murder a human, no matter what the circumstances behind the actions were.
An idea struck her then, and she wondered if she was strong enough to attempt it. It would be a reckless, unstoppable force with only one train of thought: killing. She looked to Laurent then, wondering if he would help her. She doubted it, he was too polite when it came to situations such as these, but she couldn't continue without asking.
"Laurent... help me with this. Just this, and you'll never have to see me again. They killed James! I can't sit around without doing anything, he deserves more than that. I'm going to avenge him, whether or not you think its a good idea. I need your help to kill Isabella Swan."

Laurent stared at Victoria, she looked insane with anger. His useless attempt to talk her out of revenge had been wasted. There was no talking out of when it came to avenging the one you love. He had tried at least, no one could blame Laurent for the future ahead of Victoria and the Cullens.
Why had James done this, why could he not go anywhere without do this? Laurent thought, cursing James' lust for stupid games. It had been Edward Cullen that had started the game, not the human, that was only the prey in this...Laurent remembered the field, he remembered the girl's scent. It was floral, it was nice, it was not worth this. Laurent also remembered the look on Edward Cullen's face, it was vicious and meaning to frighten James. He was protective and that intrigued James, and that was why Victoria and Laurent stood there in the smoke of a recently deceased vampire.
Victoria stared at Laurent just then, her face was meaningful, it was full of purpose, and she spoke in a soft voice. She asked Laurent for one thing, and only one thing, after this she promised he would never have to see her again...help her kill Isabella Swan. One of Laurent's eyebrows rose and he grinned slightly. So she has a plan...One to kill the human, that should be interesting. Laurent thought. The only thing was, what was Laurent willing to do to help Victoria.
Yes, killing a human was easy...actually it was quite simple, a matter of seconds; but killing a human with 7 angry, over-protective vampires...well that was a different matter altogether. Victoria had befriended Laurent, she and James had lived with him, had traveled with him around the whole United States. He at least owed her the time to tell him her plan.
"Okay Victoria, what is it that you have in mind? If it is something that is not totally reckless...than I will help you." Laurent knew before she answered that it would be something that would cost Victoria her life.

Victoria was encouraged by Laurent's decision to listen, perhaps he would help her afterall. She knew she had one chance to explain it to him, and if she didn't do it right, then it was highly unlikely he would listen to her again. The idea itself was insane, maybe even suicidal, but it would be the only way to distract and overpower the Cullens. She wouldn't be able to recruit seasoned vampires - no one was out of their minds like she was to take on a family so big. Victoria tried to think of how to start off in a way to keep his attention so that he would hear her out completely and not walk away the moment she mentioned the full plan. He would be a valuable asset with his incredible self-control, becaue she wasn't sure if she would be able to stop in time from killing everyone.
"The Cullens are powerful," she said delicately, watching his face for any kind of reaction. She wasn't sure what he felt about this kind of thing, if he was overly sensitive as usual or if he truly believed that vampires were at the top of the food chain. "I can't get to Bella by myself, and it would be near impossible to recruit others for such a personal agenda. But we still need help, and I think I know how." Victoria took in a deep, unnecessary breath before deciding how to continue. This was the most crucial part, because he needed to agree or she was on her own.
"Newborns," she finally said, but realized she had to explain further. "Newborns are more powerful than you or I, and if we had ten, maybe even twenty, then we would overpower the Cullens. They are wild, sure, but we could contain them. I need your help creating them, I'm not sure if I have enough willpower to stop before killing them."
The plan began to form in her head then. Go back to Seattle, change as many as they could and then unleash them on the Cullens. They would be distracted enough to let their protection on Bella weaken, and then Victoria would have her chance. They would only have one chance at it. Newborns were reckless and wild and had no strategy in fighting, so it wouldn't last long. But they were vicious and strong, stronger than any seasoned vampire. Even Emmett wouldn't stand a chance against them.
She waited then for his response, her wild crimson eyes searching his face for any signs of a response.

Victoria seemed excited, excited for some plan against the Cullens, one that would bring revenge for what had happened to James, one that she needed assistance with. Laurent watched her intently for any signs of insanity, but all he found in her flawless, dirt-covered face was determination. She spoke softly, "The Cullens are powerful," Laurent nodded, he knew that already but it must help with her purpose.
She began to speak of her plan, it was to kill Isabella Swan, but to kill her they needed help. Laurent had realized that two nomad vampires were definitely not enough to push past a coven like the Cullens and kill their precious human, the very human that they had risked all to save from James. Who would help them? Laurent wondered, he was about to ask this very question when Victoria muttered the one word that both terrified and amazed Laurent..."Newborns"[/color]
That was interesting...So she wants to use Newborns to kill the Cullens, or at least to buy her some time to kill the girl. Thoughts flew into Laurent's mind at hyper-speed, this plan was surely dangerous, they would have to be extremely careful, the Volturi would not allow this...would they?
Victoria wanted Laurent to help make them, he had more power over blood than Victoria, and would be able to save at least 2 out of 3 he attempted. Laurent stared at Victoria for half a second and then nodded slowly.
"I will help...for a while, but I will be joining the Denali clan soon and after that, you are on your own. How many do you need me to make for you?" Laurent was yearning to start his new life and it didn't involve a trip from the Volturi.

Victoria was not only surprised but greatly encouraged by Laurent's decision to help, knowing that he would be needed to make at least half of them. The first one would be the most difficult, probably impossible for her to keep alive, but it would get easier as more were made. Fights would surely break out amongst the pack and some would be destroyed, so she would have to keep replenishing the forces. She only needed them alive long enough to square off with the Cullens, after that she could care less about what happened to them. No one had been there for her when she was made; no one needed to be there for them.
The Volturi wouldn't care about what they were planning to do, as long as the vampire identity was kept secret and no immortal children were created. Aside from that, the Cullens meant nothing to them. Victoria wasn't sure if anything of this scale had ever happened before, but to her knowledge she wasn't breaking any rules by making a few newborns and killing one stupid human. If anything, Edward had overstepped the boundaries by letting Bella into their world - their secret could be exposed at any time. She made a mental note to let it slip to the Volturi what exactly was going on in the Cullen household.
Laurent agreed to help her make newborns, but after that she was on her own. She wondered briefly if she would be able to handle it all, but let that thought go; she was incredibly powerful and persuasive, it would be a field day. All she needed to do was make them believe she gave a damn about them, show a little affection, and they would follow her wherever she went.
"I will need you to make as many as you can before you leave. I can make some myself but it will take longer. A few dozen to start with. By the time I get around to attacking the Cullens once and for all they will have slaughtered half of their coven. I can't take the chance that I will end up with fewer numbers than our adversaries by the time we meet up."

A couple dozen? Victoria's words flew fast as she and Laurent lied in the smoke of the burning building. Laurent wasn't sure he could make that many, but had promised. He could attempt at the very least...the worse he could do was lower the human population a bit, he needed to drink anyway. They would have to make them close to the Cullens, in the Olympic Peninsula. Somewhere in Washington where the newborns didn't have to travel far to get to their destination or the young vampires will end up killing each other.
"I will make your newborns...but for a price, nothing big I assure you, all I want is for a guarantee of my protection. I will not be a part of the killing, I will only be a recruiter of it. Victoria I need your word that I will not be harmed in your plan, and then I shall help you as much as I can possibly manage."
Laurent wasn't an idiot, he knew how this would end for Victoria...hell, he knew that Victoria knew how it would end also. She was willing to give up her life for this cause, but Laurent on the other hand was not. He had liked James, he had seemed decent enough...but not enough to make Laurent throw his life away to avenge him. All he owed James was to be able to help out his mourning lover as much as he could.
Laurent stood up straight then, he stared around him. Through the smoke he could see firemen working of the mass of smoke in front of Victoria and himself. He looked down at Victoria and whispered, "When should we start? The Cullens will no doubt be with their human now, its probably safest to leave tonight." Through the flaming smell of vampire, Laurent could smell Isabella Swan, she smelled nice. Hopefully Victoria couldn't smell the floral scent, or it might bring out the anger that was building up inside of her.
"Let's go and begin, the sooner I start...the more practice I can have at saving their lives, I've never tried before." Laurent was sure he would waste at least three mortal's lives before he was able to save one, but the more time he was given...the more practice Laurent will be able to get.

Victoria started organizing her plans in her head after Laurent's complete admission to aid her in her fight. If she was going to be by herself once the newborns were created, then she needed them to be made nearby. Somewhere in Washington so that she wouldn't have to attempt to move the entire force a very far distance. She had no idea how well they would obey her, so it would be best not to take chances at this point.
When Laurent asked for her protection, she nodded. Of course he wouldn't want to give his life for James, he barely knew him. Still, a sting of hurt passed through her. James was worth avenging in her eyes, worth giving her life up for, but someone else didn't agree. Someone else didn't think he was worth it. In Victoria's eyes, Laurent had nothing on James, but he was useful so she needed to remember that before attempting to rip his head off.
"If anyone asks, you only made a few of them. And you didn't know what my plan was, you were oblivious to it all. Its the only way the Volturi will let you live if they come investigating." She said, knowing full well she wouldn't be around to explain things in detail to the so-called leaders of the vampires. She didn't plan anything past the battle, she didn't expect to live that long. Her only mission was to kill Isabella Swan. After that her life was over, it didn't matter if her body still existed.
Victoria nodded again when Laurent suggested they start immediately. It would probably take months before they managed to keep some alive, to find the will to stop and allow the venom to do its work. It would take a long time before she finally bestowed justice on the Cullen family, but she could wait. It was all worth it in the end.

Laurent knew this plan was a long shot, but he also thought it was brilliant in an odd, twisted kind of way. The brilliance didn't come from building an army of crazy vampires, who most likely tear each other to shreds in the end. It came from setting off a brand new batch of newborns, whose strength was the equivalent to being put on steroids, and sending them to a battle against the unsuspecting Cullens. The vampires didn't even have to kill the Cullens, all they had to do was keep the Olympic Clan busy while Victoria finds their precious girl and takes the life from her....slowly.
Laurent nodded at Victoria and said, "Thank you for understanding...I can only hope the Volturi are in a relatively good mood if they find out whats going on and come looking for you." He knew the Italian vampires' power was far more than one nomad could handle, and Laurent wasn't about to jump into a fight just to save Victoria's skin. She knew what this action would cost her, and that might be the reason she was doing it in the first place.
Laurent smelled the air around him, through the smoke he could smell humans working upon the flames...he could test his will-power out here, but if he was successful, there was no way any newborns would make it to Washington without destroying one another. Also, Laurent wasn't to keen on the idea of traveling with all the vampires.
"Let us begin our journey back toward Forks, we will start attempting to create the vampires when we are closer to the Olympic Clan."

Victoria had the complete plan worked out in her head, even a few alternatives if things didn't go as planned. She hoped it wouldn't take as long as it seemed it would; she didn't know how long she could continue living in the shell she was now. Everything seemed so plain, so ordinary, so very... human. Even the thought of getting her hands on Bella's neck and slowly and torturously ripping her to shreds didn't ignite the burning in her throat. As a vampire, all of the senses are more aware. But Victoria felt nothing of that sort. She could achieve it if she wanted to, if she tried, but her mind was slowly shutting down and she wondered how long it would take for her to lay down and never get back up again.
When Laurent said he hoped the Volturi would be kind to her, a sad and knowing smile crossed her dirty features. The Volturi were never nice and understanding. They lived and breathed the rules, and occasionally dealt the punishment obtained by breaking them. If the newborns created more of a mess than she expected, if they risked exposure to their world, she was certain that was how her life was going to end.
"Laurent," she said, her voice oddly soft. "We both know what they will do if they come here. Don't fool yourself and think otherwise."
A hardened expression crossed her features then and she put the defences back up again, mentally kicking herself for allowing them to drop in the first place. James was the only one who ever saw her in a weakened state. She felt ashamed for having such human qualities, but he never judged her or looked down on her. He loved her as she loved him.
Victoria agreed when Laurent mentioned leaving, knowing they had to get back north if they ever wanted to start. It would be impossible to move newborns from Arizona to Washington without completely obliterating the coven.
"We'll start in Seattle." She said, her mind back on track. "The city is large enough to hide a few kills and blame some on regular murders. Anywhere else and it would get suspicious. Let's go."

Laurent could see that Victoria's main feeling right now was pain. Laurent wasn't a comforting vampire, and he would surely begin Victoria's plan, just so it would take her mind off of mourning over James...at least until Laurent was in Alaska.
Laurent grinned weakly at Victoria, she was right. The Volturi were cruel, and only depended on their rules, if one rule were to be broken, the one responsible for breaking it would be executed for such crime. The Italian vampires weren't much for second chances.
Laurent nodded to Victoria and began running, it didn't matter if he started running before Victoria did, she was far faster and would catch up easily. Laurent spoke, just enough for Victoria to hear him, "Seattle seems perfect, if we try in Forks...well its way too small for people not to get suspicious, and there is noway the Olympic Coven wouldn't know. We'll get as close to Forks as Seattle can take us, and thats where we'll start."
Laurent hoped he wouldn't kill too many humans, the faster he made the newborns, the quicker he could begin his life with the Denalis and stay out of the Cullen's way.
