Theora ran her cold hands over her equally cold face. The sight of a motherly figure such as Esme had unsettled her. She didn’t remember much of her human life but she remembered her mother and all that went with her. Theora had been her mother’s twin in life; even now if Theora looked closely at her own reflection she could still see her there. Her mother was the clearest and single memory from her human life. It was also her one true fault, a mother’s love and the loss of it.
Her mind was clouded by those thoughts as Jane named the two women from her viewing. Theora merely nodded without truly listening to the speech. Though Theora heard her comment on the beauty of the one called Rosalie and the motherly love of Esme. She was still a little zoned out as Jane mentioned the plans Aro had for the rare Cullen’s.
“They will join us, Aro hopes?” Theora asked shocked, ‘And a human? Here?” The last part disgusted Theora. She saw all humans as nothing more then a meal. To have a human even in the sanctum of the lair would be an abomination. She could barely stand Gianna without wanting to feed on her. Though she would relish the chance to watch Edward suffer as his pet was turned to one of them

It was clear that Theora had other things on her mind than the curren task on hand and this angered the youth-like vampire. They had business but the expression didn't register on her smooth face, her eyes looked dully at her fellow guard, whatever the other was thinking she only hoped it would pass soon. It amazed her sometimes that she hadn't attacked her fellow guard members though Theora gift was more useful than that of say Felix or Demetri? Renata was a desired gift as well though she never really saw any action and hid behind their master.
Jane liked to be viewed.
To see the fear in her victims eyes, a curt smile played on her lips, "Yes," she replied, "Especially Alice..." if it were up to Jane she'd want neither of the goody-two-shoes near her master. The pixie-like vampire was far to happy for their own good. It did surprise her that Jasper hadn't accompanied Alice which was unheard of when it came to mates. Jane had not a mate, all she needed was her brother, but it hadn't bothered her much and she'd never understand the "adults" and their need for that type of championship. All she knew of the southern vampire was that he was always next to, if not nearby, his much more youthful looking mate.
"It'll be rather interesting to see the human here..." Jane tried to look smug but her features betrayed her, she looked more bored than ever, "Its almost time for myself to go to the surface to observe the suicidal vampire."

Theora looked over at Jane and watched as the child like face gave a much older looking smile. It was hard for Theora sometimes to remember that this child was older then herself and, in all honesty, more powerful. In her first few centuries with the Volturi she had feared the demon within the child, even more so when she realized the childlike impression was just a costume and mask. In the years since she had been actual witness and watcher to most of Jane’s vicious killings.
Now Theora watched the girls face lit up, as much as it could, at the prospect of Alice joining them. She, on the other hand, couldn’t help but feel jealousy with having a similar give within their ranks. Competition was something she hadn’t dealt with often but it was something she dealt with badly. She did share Jane’s curiosity about the human’s arrival. It would be interesting to see if she made it out alive.
As Jane mentioned her trip to the square Theora couldn’t help but wonder who would go with her. Despite her ability Jane never left the tower alone she always had company, and in the tower was most often shadowed by Alec.
“Who will accompany you, Jane?” She asked as casually as possible though her interest was in only one guard.

Jane turned to look at Theora, a little interested in the question, she would like to think that the younger vampire knew who would be going. Aro's favorites of course. Than again when it came to the guards they often seem to want to get into the inner circle that was the masters, only a few often surrounded him, "Demetri and Felix I persume will accompany me though I'm ordered to stand away from them in the shadow, can't have Edward noticing my thoughts and do something drastic." The bronzed haired vampire could be such, what did humans call them? Drama Queens?
"Why do you ask?" Jane looked at her, child-like, cocking her head to the side. It was a shame that Alec wouldn't be able to join them in the fun but he was ordered to stay by Gianna's side and greet the "visitors" to their master's lair. Soon she'd be satisfied and sedated.

Theora nodded as Jane mentioned Edward hearing thoughts, it was another gift that she coveted. Theora was jealous of most gifts but this one would be most useful, especially here in Volterra where no one really ever said what they thought.
Theora looked at the young looking vampire and hid her smile at the mention of the name. She had no right to smile at it, or to feel anything.
"No reason. Merely and inquiry." She said looking away toward the blank wall. "Tonight we have 'guests" I hear." She smirked. "Will you return?"

If there were ever someone to come along that would ever catch her eye Jane would finally admit to understanding the feelings of those around her. Luckily for her that would never happen and sure she'd had come across blood that was so desirable that she'd almost exposed herself but that'd ended quickly. Alec was always there to restrain and reason with her. He was her stone that kept her to the ground when the smell of blood was in the air. Theora's answer didn't surprise her and frankly she expected it, raising both her brows, Jane smiled curtly in the direction of her fellow guard. "Yes, Aro would like for us to be present for the occasion, it is one of my favorite times of the year and its amazing that though their clothing changes and their faces more plump its just the same. The way they look at you."
This year though she hadn't bothered to pick her target this time like the previous year. Last year it had been a young blond girl, her blood had been much sweeter, Jane had lured her away from the others and lead her down a corridor, acting as a guide, while the rest remained in the main feeding chamber. Aro welcomed in his theatrical manner, they'd gasped when he'd spoken as they'd all looked like statues sitting waiting for their "guests", and after his speeched the screaming commenced. It was always on cue. The girl had become unaware of her surroundings though the screams had attracted her attention and like that the cat and mouse game began.
Jane turned towards a frame on the wall admiring the blonde curl wrapped in a pink ribbon, a spot right next to it empty.

Theora’s mind was ticking over with the image of the guesrd she asked about as Jane spoke his name. Had she still have been human with flowing blood, she would have blushed. In her current states she merely let a small smile grace her lips for a moment then it fell.
As she listened to Jane Theora couldn’t help but wonder if she would be called to be at the private festivities of the festival. Though she could travel outside of the walls to hunt, it would be fun to see the look on their guest’s faces as they descended upon them. As Jane mentioned the way they would look at them, Theora longed even more to be present. She realized then that there was little to lose in asking.
“Would I be permitted audience at the festivities?” She asked Jane without looking her in the eye

"There is an open invitation to the festivities, Aro prefers his guards more than just the regular members of his own coven, in order to keep the others in line." Theora was considered one of the special members like herself, unlike the rest of the guards who were merely the muscles while the inner circles were the brains. Jane did notice that the other hadn't looked her in the eye, which was a little bothersome, there was no quarrel between them so a sense of uneasiness was unecessary.
Jane looked towards the door, it would be time soon, her attention was brought back to her dark haired fellow guard, "This year will be much larger than the last I suppose, in celebration I guess, for what I'm not sure but if Edward is here with Alice and his human on the way, it could be something having to deal with them."

Theora nodded as Jane turned to look at the door. It would be a great honor to be at the festivities along with their coven leaders. This pleased her and gave her something to look forward too. As Jane spoke of Edward and Alice she could sense the air grow thicker with distaste.
“Perhaps I should keep a watch on Alice and the Human. Then I could tell you when they arrive and Italy.” She said to Jane. “It would be better to keep ahead of their plans then to be following their moves like lambs. Let us make them the lambs to the slaughter.” Theora laughed realizing that they would probably arrive in Volterra about the time of the slaughter, how ironic time could be.

They would indeed arrive in time for the festivities which would delight Aro, he was always happy to include one more, especially if it maybe a Cullen. Gianna would have be informed of their arrival though she would tell Alec on her way to the surface. Trips above ground were pleasant and she'd much rather sit in a field of beautiful flowers, like she had once done so many years ago, but with her sparkling skin and haunting eyes Jane would have been discovered. Years had gone by since she'd almost been discovered once, by a young man, but that had been quickly taken care of and his blood had tasted so sweet.
Jane thought about for a moment, "Watch but do not watch more than usual, Edward has been known to be able to view the minds of others near him. We cannot allow him to see us." Jane stood up, beginning to ready herself for the trip to the surface, standing in front of a mirror she combed her hair with tiny, thin, fingers.

Theora watched the young looking girl perfect her hair in the mirror, Jane’s appearance as a child was truly startling and scary; this action on accentuating that. Theora contemplated the possibility that Edward would be able to see her thoughts as she watched him in the square, truly a conundrum; her watching him watching her watching him. A smile played on her lips at the mind game it could pose.
“I’ll watch him carefully.” She assured Jane. “And Alice and the human? Should I watch them? What a sweet family reunion this will be.” Theora laughed a spite filled small laugh

"They won't be of us to us just yet but it would be interesting to see what is happening to them while they're on their way to Italy. Focus more on Edward than the other two but if they change their movements let me know," Jane began to walk towards the door, turning to the other woman, "Its about time we go to the surface to monitor Edward, but we'll be back shortly, let me know if anything happens with Alice as soon as possible. I'm going to meet with Aro first before we make a final decision on what to do. Seeing as Cullen is a favorable toy," She gritted her teeth, "It will be quick and easy."
"If you need me, I'll be with Aro," Jane turned to walk out the door and over to the chamber where her Masters would be waiting. The feast would take place in this chamber as well as the Cullens trial. Above they'd be able to hear the festival and to keep on eye on any vampires that would be in the vinicity.
