Abilities: Alec has an extremely powerful gift which is even more potent than Jane’s. He has the ability to cut off a person's senses. He can make them blind, deaf, mute, unable to feel a thing and unable to smell anything. When he uses his gift, it appears in the form of mist.
Occupation: Volturi Guard

History: Italy wasn’t as lovely as it is in this modern day an age. Long, long ago, Jane and Alec were born. Their mother named them but that is all he can recall of her. Most vampires tend to forget their mortal lives. It becomes irrelevant and dull to dwell on, but when a strong feeling of anguish, guilt, or pain is present before the change, then it will be forever etched into our souls. Unfortunately, something did happen of that nature to Jane and Alec.
Voodoo and witchcraft appealed to the two, it was fascinating. They used to sit by the hearth, reading from old books supposedly on what spells to cast. They thought it was hilarious how the villagers reacted to them reading them, they must have thought the twins were possessed. But to Jane and Alec, it was just genuine fascination. The villagers didn’t see it that way, they dragged them both kicking and screaming to a stake. Horror filled Alec's body as it dawned on him exactly what they were about to do. And sure enough, they tied them behind the wooden pole.
A torch was passed from person to person as a priest recited from the Bible. After what felt like a lifetime, the priest set it at their feet. Alec could not believe they were going to be burned alive. Alec drowned out the noises as fire lapped around them, slowly consuming the wood. Just before he thought it was all over, strong hands grabbed them and he felt himself being carried quickly away before teeth sank into his neck. The pain. The pain was unimaginable, Alec felt as if he was suffocating, no amount of air seemed to enter his lungs to scream loud enough. He has never wished anything more in his life than for that pain to ease. He wanted to be numb to it all. Alec didn’t want to feel, he didn’t want to see, he didn’t want to hear. Alec wanted it all to go away.
Alec must have blacked out somewhere in between. Though the pain stayed with him, if possible, it grew up a great notch. For three days it lasted. Alec counted the seconds to draw his mind away. He thought that it was hell. He must have deserved it, maybe the priest had been right. Alec was damned. Alec does not remember uttering a word, screams and begging didn’t ease the pain in the slightest bit.
Alec woke up from it. Jane, was his first thought. The firsts thing he saw was her, staring down at his sleeping form. Words caught in Alec's throat. Beautiful alabaster skin, red eyes, a beautiful complexion with sharp clarity. She was different, but Alec was in doubt that she was Jane. She smiled wickedly at him, “Good morning, brother. I would like to introduce you to our savior, Aro. ”
They quickly assimilated to their new lifestyle, the rush, the extravagance, the freedom. The tide had turned, instead of being the two strange weak children, they were now, well, still strange. But no longer prey, but predator.
Alec supposed his wish at the burning stake had been answered. As years passed after their recruitment to the Volturi Guard, Jane and Alec displayed signs of special abilities. Where Jane could manipulate anyone into thinking they are in pain, Alec is the anesthetic. Yes, he could make you feel numb, with no feeling, hearing, sight, or taste. Scary, isn’t it?
No one has ever been able to shield against Alec's ability. Well, no one but one. Bella Swan, a peculiar girl, who in Alec's opinion is worthy to be in the Volturi Guard. She is constantly showing them miracles, even in their strange magic filled world, she defies it. Take for instance a month ago, she of all vampires had delivered a child. Alec was there to witness it, with more than half of the vampire world it seemed like it. They had an audience waiting to testify that the child was indeed not another one of the forbidden immortal children. Unlike his sister, Alec does not get angry and simply leaves after Renesmee is proven not to be a problem.
