[Early Twilight- after Specialty Items] The only thing that made this day crap was the fact that procrastination had finally caught up with Embry. He had a test the next day, plus the outline of a paper due as well, and he had a dooming feeling that the math teacher was gonna pounce on the class with a pop quiz. It only took Embry about 15 minutes of looking at his schoolbooks to realize that he needed a break before he started the walls closing in. He quickly grabbed his shoes and ran out towards the beach. It was such a great place to live, when the relaxing sound of waves and she salty air was only a walk away.
He pulled his hood up and walked along the multi-colored rocks that made up First Beach, his feet producing a small crackle with each step.[tag: Elaine, open to all]

Elaine had finally got some time off to drive down to La Push. She had promised to go visit a friend she had made a while back at the store. Elaine parked her black Porsche close to the beach. She then smiled happy that she was going to meet this mysterious person that talk to her in a shopping center. "Okay I got his gift now I just need to find his house. What did he say again. Go to the beach."
She walked over to it holding a brown bag with some of his jelly peanut butter mix, and a pineapple soda. She now stood on the beach wearing a black pencil skirt, tank top and hoodie but the hood was down. She had her hair up in a bun. "okay so I am now on the beach. Go about umm not sure how many and find a blue one. " She looked the way of the houses and found out that they were almost all blue. She sat on on knees holding the bag thinking. "great what did her say about number of houses. " She looked up and say someone. She walked over to the person and touched there shoulder.
"Sir I was wondering if you could help me out. I have a friend I am looking for and not sure where he lives." Elaine did not want to drawl to much attention to herself if they could not.

This was a good sign. Just walking down the beach, and away from the pile of homework from he had, made Embry feel better. He thought about maybe visiting Jake, they had some of the same classes together so maybe he already had some of the work done. He'd been reveling in his escape from schoolwork that he didn't notice that he wasn't alone anymore until someone tapped him on the shoulder. He quickly turned around and smiled, surprised when he saw Elaine. "Elaine? Hey, I was wondering when you were coming to the beach!" He was glad that she'd taken a break from school and her job at the diner. The beach was easy to get to and the best place to relax.
"Whose house are you looking for?" he asked, genuinely curious. He had a momentary moment of resentment when he realized that she was going to visit someone else before she visited him like she said she would.

Elaine smiled and looked at him. "I was looking for you house. All I remember was the fact that you said it was down for the beach and blue." She then hugged him. When pulling back she held out the bag for him to take. She knew that he would like what was inside.
"Well I thought if I came to visit you might get a little hungry so I brought you a gift to be like we are friends and I care about you." She then thought about what they were going to do she had forgotten that she had need a bathing suit. "Yes I finally got away. I had to fight the boss and be like listen here. I have this cute boy on the other side that I need to talk to before he thinks I stood him up. Well that and I told her if she gave me the day off I would come in on Thursday which is normally with I get off. So I am here but forgot a suit."

Embry tried not to look too excited, before he made a fool of himself, but he did smile widely, pleased that Elaine had come looking for him. He hugged her back, welcoming her onto the reservation where his home was, and pulled his hoodie down. "Yea, it's up that way," he told her, point out his house just a couple of hundred yards north from where they stood.
He took the paper bag that she offered him and peeked in. He laughed heartily as his color deepened once again. "That is just awesome, Elaine. Thanks a lot." He thought it was great that she'd remembered what he had bought the day they met, and had been thoughtful enough to bring him the same thing. He would have to remember to omit this detail when he told his friends about her, otherwise they would never stop raggin' on him. He laughed at her story when she told her boss that she needed to go to La Push. Rolling his eyes at the 'cute boy' part, he tried not to let it get to him too much. "Don't worry about the suit," he told her, putting his hands back in the pockets of his hoodie. "It's too cold today anyway."

Elaine looked at him and then giggled. "Oh well I would have found it at some point. There are not that many blue house that I could have went and knocked at. Never know I might have got lucky and hit yours first."
She sat down on the beach after he looked at the things in the bag. She was really glad he liked it. "I remember a special friend that said he came down to my town because they did not have the Jelly or Soda he wanted. So I thought this time I would bring the store to him. If you want I can take the stuff back. That just means a certain friend I have that is a boy would have to come visit me to get it."
Elaine then fell against the sand. "What are we going to do then. I heard that the was great for the beach but if we can't swim what you going to show me. I want a tour of La Push before I have to head home okay." She closed her eyes. It reminded her of home.

"Hey, you can't take the peanut butter and jelly back," he warned playfully. "Unfair. I'd come to see you in Forks if you just asked." He smiled at his bag of goodies, and even noticed that pineapple soda was included. She got serious points for that. He wondered if he should invite her back to the house so he could start on this new jar of peanut butter and jelly, but his mom might still be home and he'd be too embarrassed bringing a girl home, even if it was just for a little while.
"I dunno I can give you a tour if you like," he told her with a slight shrug. "It's a really small reservation so the tour will be done in like 15 minutes." He took a seat across from where she had, and looked out to the beach. "How is work?"

Elaine laughed at him. "Oh well then you need to come visit me at work then. I mean I always sitting there yawning like why no one here to talk to me. " She sat there looking at him with her hand out. "But I can handle a 15 minute tour. So you need to help me up please Embry."
She then started to give him her puppy dog eyes. She was not going to move till he helped her. "Work is normal. I walk out and all nice say I'm Elaine and I will be your waitress today." She would have to show him it all in detail to him later. "Then I get them food, drinks, napkins, anything they need. I will then hopefully impress them enough so that I can pay for gas in my car and to get your food since your not there everyday."
Elaine then laughed. "So are you going to help me out to start that tour."

Embry shook his head in mock disappointment and offered her his hand to help her get up. "So lazy," he teased. He didn't need the puppy dog eyes to convince him, but the sight of them made him smile. He listened to her daily encounters as a diner waitress and wondered if it really sounded as simple as she made it sound. It seemed like you could just walk in and wait on people, and he wondered if the diner's patrons tipped her well. "Well, I guess it sounds like a cool place to work."
He quickly scanned their surroundings, deciding where to start the tour. "I guess we can start on the South end."

Elaine took his hand and stood up smiling. "I am not lazy at all. Come on I'm on my feet all the time. Least you could do was help me up." She started to walk of not really knowing where she was going but pretending to be mad. Once she was a few yards away she turned and looked back at him and rub her head.
"well I was going to start the tour but I am not sure even where the starting point for it is. So You mind showing me to it." She then stopped waiting for him to start it.

Embry was slightly wary at Elaine's reaction, he hadn't expected her to get upset. "Hey, I was just kidding, come on," he said lightly. He walked beside her for a bit, silently trying to figure out what he had done wrong. He thought they had been getting along well. He knew she had a pretty good sense of humor, but if it was a joke, then she was a pretty good actress.
He was relieved when she changed the subject and went back to their tour. "Just this way," he told her, leading towards the southwest point of the reservation. "Luckily the reservation is really small, so the tour won't tire you out," he added, smiling softly as he regarded his home. They reached the small collection of stores they had where the tribe went shopping for the essentials. "We usually shop here," he told her, point out the little plaza. "My mom works in that convenience store."

Elaine looked at him and smiled once they got to the little stories. "I know you were joking. I did not mind you calling me lazy sometimes I am like that." She did not know why but she liked being with this boy. She looked around and all the small little stores.
"Yes I would hate to tire out. I can see though now why you came up to the town to shop this place has hardly anything. What so you normally eat down here. There is hardly any food here." She was really trying to think of things to talk about. She did not care what it was either as long as she was here.

Embry felt relief when he realized that Elaine was just kidding. He didn't know her very well and wouldn't know what to do if he had upset her. He chuckled as the atmosphere lightened and he lead her slowly across the reservation.
"Well, we shop in that grocery store there," he told her, point out the small establishment where his mother worked. "There's plenty of food, actually. Sometimes they just don't have certain things like this," he told her, holding up his gifted peanut butter and jelly and pineapple soda. He lead her past the stores and took the widest road that took them through the middle of La Push. "Most of us live on this road," he told her, making a gesture towards the houses that lined the road. "Some of us live right near the beach."

She looked at the small store and smiled looking at it. "Well I can see that the lovely store is small. I not sure I what to think about it. All the stores I have ever been to were huge."
She looked around at all the houses and then smiled. "I think it is rather sweet that all of you mainly leave on just one road. I think I have neighbor where I live. When you think about it though, I don't talk to mine all that often. I should though." She looked around at all the house and then smiled at him. She liked it here. It had more of the small town feel then Forks.
"So what is there really to do here other then the beach. I mean I surf and swim but it to cold to do that. Which now brings us to the thought of thinking about what to do. If you can't think of nothing means I need to go back to my house and come up with an idea." She smiled at him as they walked down the road.
