Noel let her fingers intertwin with his and slip away and then return as she paused and dropped her gaze smiling as he joked about Quil having a teddy bear. Inaling she collected her nerves and looked back up at him as she smiled laughing lightly, "Oh geez i thought no one knew about that." laughing she shook her head as she had a tingling feeling trail threw her body as she sighed, "Embry...Every time you come around I feel more alive, than i've ever felt. I know I never...wanted anything so bad. I've never wanted to be near anyone so bad. Down deep I'm barley breathing, but you just see me smiling. You seem to have an effect on me i've never felt before..." Noel paused as she attempted to keep her nerves in check. She had never been soo open with anyone before an was really scared it would bite her in the end, her hands began to shake with jitters and she laughed as she continued, "You know when i'm alone i feel like i'm suffocating, But I blame this town because everywhere i turn around i see everyone so happy. But i only feel that way when your away from me." Noel knew she should stop talking before she went to far and scared him off she just fell silent and looked at his hands and concentrated on them touching.

A small line of worried etched Embry's brow when Noel let go of his hand and the smile disappeared from her face. It was only momentary, but the moment had injected doubts into his mind that made him glad that they were in their human form? Had he been mistaken? Was she not interested and just having a good time in general? Maybe Embry was coming on too strong, which was something he'd never done before. He had only dared to be so forward because it was had been impossible to ignore the signs while they hung out or when their minds were linked as wolves. But now it worried him that he might have been imagining this connection between them that surpassed their pack relationship, and that she was trying to figure out how to turn him down gently.
Before he could act on his doubts, her eyes found him again. But the depth of her eyes were nothing compare to what his ears were hearing as she spoke in simple yet honest phrases, each one more amazing than the one that preceded it. He had been wrong, and had never felt such relief in being so incredibly wrong. There was a part of him that knew it, it was only a natural defense that had prepared him for the worst. But he had seen it there in her mind while they were wolves, he had looked into her mind as much as he allowed her to do the same. The words were only a confirmation of what he had felt from her mind; he had recognized it because it was so alike to what he felt. But as she spoke, he knew that those words were hers, and though he felt the same way, he knew that he wouldn't be able to verbalize it like she had. He suddenly had a heightened sense of where he was and how close they were and how fragile this moment was. And yet he stood there amazed, and elated, and trembling just as hard as she was and... at a complete loss. He had no idea what to say. He wanted to tell her that despite the brief week that they'd known each other, he felt it too... all of it. But she had taken it all, and she could keep it as long as she wanted it.
Embry could only stare in awe and amazement as Noel took the inner workings of his heart and mind and had laid it out before them, showing him that hers were identical. He could only revel and laugh at her laugh, inching towards her, closing the space between them. The hand that held hers released if to find her waist and pull her closer. He gently brought their foreheads together to touch lightly, closing his eyes and just held her there. He felt the warmth of her breath wash over him as he tried to take in everything about her there under the moonlight. "Not fair," he murmured in a low, husky voice, barely containing the torrent that he felt, "I thought you couldn't read my mind while we were humans."

Noel let worry get the best of her as she watched Embry's forehead crease with what looked like worry and shock at the same time. Maybe he didn't feel the way she did, her quakes picked up as she held his hands and looked back down at where the toes touched. She was thinking how she could have read into his thoughts so wrong and why she had even opened her mouth at all. She felt like sobbing when he took his hands from hers but she was suddenly releived as they found her waist and pulled her closer to him. His heat radiating off him but to her he felt perfect, his hands holding her close was the best thing in the world at this moment. Once his forehead touched hers she found her lids sliding shut as her breath finally evened out and her mind only thought of one thing "him". Standing their in the silence she smiled as he spoke almost a whisper his warm breath on her ear as the stood in the moons light. Moving onto her toes slightly she let her lips brush his cheek as she smiled, and returned to lean into him her head against his chest as he just held her. Noel had never felt so safe as she did right now, and she never wanted to be without this feeling again. Inhaling his warm scent she smiled once more as she whispered, "You know you scared me for a moment there. I thought you didn't like me the way i do you." her lids never opening as she laid a hand on his shoulders and just sighed in relief of his reaction to her honest words.

Her smile was the last thing he saw before closing his eyes to relishing in the image while holding her close. He felt a smoldering heat emanating from the spot on his cheek where her lips had touched. It slowly trickled down into his chest, where her head now rested. He placed his chin lightly over it, and his free hand found its way up to stroke her hair softly. The movements were automatic and natural, each hand had its place to be in without question and they easily found them without thought.
This time he laughed softly at what she had said. It had never occurred to him that she might have thought she was wrong. Embry had been steadily becoming more in tune with her since they'd met, to a point where his brothers made fun of him, as if he cared. He hadn't thought there was room for misinterpretation. But it seems that they both had had some doubt, born out of fear. "No," he said through little spurts of chuckling before admitting, "I thought you were trying to turn me down nicely." As he thought of that possibility, now thankfully relinquished, he tightened his grip on her waist as if trying to keep her from changing her mind.
He was glad they were in human form at the moment, though he thought of other ways they could possibly be closer. He realized that he had never been happier or more at peace than he felt right now, but a practical string of thoughts were tainting his mind. They had only met the week before, and they thoughts and words they were exchanging seemed to be coming very quickly. Was it too fast? Were they charging towards something that could turn out disastrous? Would it ruin the pack? He tried not to think of his worries and doubts. He and the moon were holding onto Noel.

Noel took in a quick happy breath as Embry's hand stroked her hair and he held her tighter. How she was able to be so happy was beyond her but she wasn't about to question it, she evened her breath and it was now synchronized with his. Her chest rose when his and fell with his her hands laid lightly on his chest as she nestled into him more. She smiled as his chest shook as little bursts of laughter filtered from him, his low honest words made her smile as she tilted her head back so she was looking up at him. She let her lips touch the bottom of his chin before she laughed as he tightened his grip on her, "Don't worry im not going anywhere." she smiled before just looking into his eyes once more she felt like he knew her sorrows and her happiness. Even in wolf form in a thought of mind where nothing was hidden, she knew he had caught crap from the others for being so in tune with her. Noel had always loved how Embry didn't care what any of them had thought or teased him about accept for Leah that is. Remebering the pack made her think of earlier today and she went stiff before leaning farther back and saying quickly, "Embry your on patrol tonight!" the time had snuck up on them and she didn't want this to end so it was hard but she couldn't have Embry getting in trouble over her. She smiled as she sighed resting her hands on his shoulder, "If you don't think Sam will mind i'll keep you company tonight..." she hoped he would like the thought of her tagging along but didn't want Sam getting mad if she did.

Embry felt his heart beat against his chest, feeling Noel so close and hearing that she wasn't leaving him there. It was the most bizarre, yet wonderful feeling. Before Noel had come to La Push and recognized her birthright, Embry thought he was completely content. He'd learned that he had family he never thought he would, and that family was united in a very ancient and sacred purpose. He still had issues that needed to be addressed, but on the whole he was happy with his pack and his life. He never thought that this was in store for him. Embry had always been the one in the background as he watched his best friends and brothers imprint and fall in love. He wasn't too worried; he was set on his role as a Quileute wolf and felt useful and important there. He hadn't worried too much about girls since becoming a wolf. In fact, he was doubtful that he would be able to survive any kind of relationship. Any girl he would have tried to approach would have noticed his late nights and secretive behavior, and he wouldn't be able to tell her.
Noel had filled in a space in his life he had thought he would not be able to address for a very long time, when he could control his transformations and begin to age again. But Noel was part of this secret, and he couldn't hide anything from her, which was scary, but it was something he was surprised to like. Embry was not necessarily shyer, but more reserved and pensive. Trying to sort through what he was feeling and thinking would have been confusing and awkward. But now he didn't have to; Noel now knew it all.
Reality suddenly struck him when Noel reminded him that he was on duty that night. He blinked once in shock and backed away a bit as well, though never let go of her. "Damn, I almost forgot," he said, scanning the forest around them and projecting his senses to see if any of their brothers was around. He smiled as she offered to stick around and keep him company, but gave her a questioning look. "When was your last patrol? Have you slept recently?" He would love to have her around, especially since they'd overcome the small barrier they'd had tonight, but he didn't want her to exhaust herself. He heard a small rustling in the woods and remembered that he would be joined by at least one other brother. He was now suddenly hesitant to let her stay. He was still worried about letting her completely into her mind after tonight, and he was also going to have to figure out how to make his brothers shut up as they picked the images and emotions right out of his mind. Either way, it would be a difficult shift.

Noel frowned slightly as Embry pulled back slightly thinking he was letting go of her. Smiling as he kept his tight embrace around her she nestled back into his chest and sighed, turning to the wooded edge she scanned for the source of the rustling hidden deeper. Rolling her eyes she wondered who was being nosy and sneeking up on them. Smiling she leaned back looking Embry in the eyes as he questioned her on her last patrol, "Geez Embry...i had a nap im fully energized at the moment. But ill let you face the mockery the guys have instore alone if you like." she knew he was going to cathc hell but was hoping he would allow her there to rub the boys noses in it. Letting her hands hold his face she smiled and sighed, "If you want ill go get somemore sleep and meet up with you later. But i would really love to be there to help when the boys are all over your thoughts. I mean we could always throw some crazy thoughts in to throw them off." she laughed at the thought and wondered what they would think and then a thought struck her Embry would be able to see her every thought. It was a scarey yet thrilling feeling so it seemed and she couldn't wait to watch his cheeks flush red.

Embry wasn't sure what to do now. He wanted to spend more time with her; they had gotten past anything that had been holding them back. But he didn't want to do it while he was on patrol and with their brothers in their heads. A little worry line appeared on his forehead, but it quickly disappeared when Noel reached up and took his face in her hands. He grinned at her when she offered to throw off their true thoughts with ones that might distract them, it was something he or Quil would have thought of. He heard another rustle in the bush, and Embry recognized the wolf approaching. He gave a low wolfy chuckle, which produced a new wave of red blush across Embry's face. "Just give me fine minutes, man," he told the wolf. He had a playful smile on his face, knowing what to expect when he phased again, be his expression also conveyed the need for just a few more moments of privacy before all was unwillingly revealed.
He looked back into Noel's sweet face and found himself confused again. They had made progress this night, but what did it all mean. Were they officially 'together'? Was he still supposed to ask her out on a date or something? He had had girlfriends before, but it had never been anything like this. He wondered if it would hurt her feelings if he told her it was better that she go home. But he also wondered if she got upset if he got overly defensive while they were teasing him. But then he thought of Sam, and felt a little better that his decision was easier to make. He didn't think Sam would have a problem with them like this, but he wouldn't want anyone one being distracted while patrolling. He stroked Noel's hair again, bringing her closer again. He smiled but there was a little bit of anxiety of letting her go so soon. "I think I need to focus on the patrol," he told her. "The guys will make it hard enough as it is," he added, glancing over her shoulder at the wolf he knew was still there, containing his laughter, "and I don't want to be worrying about you on top of it." In this state, it was hard to think of her as a strong wolf like the rest of the pack. Right now she was just Noel.

Noel smiled as she looked at him a line of worry creasing his forehead as he thought it over. Her mind was only on one thing at the moment and it was a good thing. Smiling wider as a rustle came from the woods behind her she watched as Embry spoke to the canine behind her hidden in the woods and laughed to herself. She knew Embry wanted to stay here instead of go and deal with them but he had to she wouldn't allow him to miss his patrol and get Sam angry. Noel watched his expressions change mulitple times each time he looked at her and looked away, feeling a twang inside as he opened his lips and spoke how he didn't want to worry about her she smiled and stood on tips toes nearing his face her lips only a half inch from his as she spoke, "Here's something till we see eachother again. and it will make the boys jealous." she leaned in before he could react her lips touching his for a moment before she stepped back from him. Leaving him now was harder than she had expected smiling she sighed, "Meet you at the beach tommorrow after you've slept." smiling she disaappeared into the woods and quickly phased she didn't car about her clothes she had some stowed in a knot hole in a tree near her house. Noel had thought Embry wouldn't like the watching eyes to see her bare flesh now after tonight.

Embry had involuntarily held his breath as Noel closed the distance between them. He had never seen her eyes and lips this closely, and had discovered a new appreciation for her beauty under the moonlight. His heart skipped the beats for the entire time her lips met his, which was nowhere near enough. He was able to return the light peck for a portion of the time, since the beginning he had spent it in elated shock. But it was over way too quickly, and he was now wondering how upset Sam would be if he let her stay. Luckily his temptation was stunted and he escaped Sam's possible ire when Noel phased and left him there in his little moonlit clearing.
His head was so full Noel and everything they'd said that he wasn't sure how he could stand there and let her run away from him when he so wanted to bring her back. But he tried his hardest to rein himself in, especially when the other wolf in the brush allowed his laughing escape him, bringing Embry back to reality. Embry could only respond in a awed grin, and a glazed look in his eyes as he marveled at what had just happened. He wasn't sure if he'd be able to get through the patrol without rerunning everything in his mind again, let alone sleep before seeing her the next day. But he would do it, somehow, and see her again.
The brother watching Embry look dumbfounded at the spot where Noel had disappeared in, now openly laughing. Embry chuckled once and pulled of his shorts before phasing in one quick motion to chase after the other wolf.
