History:
Birthplace:LaPush
Family: Cecilia Pine(mother)

History:
Kele’s mother was a half Quileute woman, who conceived and gave birth to Kele while living in LaPush. The name Kele came from the last name of the man listed on her birth certificate as her father, a man Kele has never met. When Kele was just a baby, Cecilia’s father (who she had been staying with in LaPush) passed away, and Kele and her mother moved back to New Mexico where the rest of her mother’s family lived, having immigrated from Panama.
Kele was raised in New Mexico, with little knowledge of her heritage from her Native American side, or knowing much about her father other than his name. Kele’s family was not very wealthy and struggled at times to put food on the table. Despite wanting to start working to help out the family, her mother insisted she stay at school and graduate high school.
Once she graduated, Kele’s mother told her that the family was returning to Panama, but that they couldn’t afford to keep Kele around. Her mother bought her a plane ticket so that she could return to LaPush, and gave her the name of her father to look up saying she would be his responsibility now. She kissed her goodbye, said she loved her, and was sorry. Her mother left without even leaving a number she could contact her at.
Kele was alone now, and had no place else to go but LaPush, to try to find her father, see if he would have anything to do with her, and if she could find a new family here who wouldn’t abandon her.
