History:
Birthplace:Limerick, Ireland
Family:Foster Parents, younger brother (Talon), and older foster brother (Connor)
Friends:None... yet
History: Given up at birth, Kaitlyn never knew her biological parents. She had been born at Grace Sinai hospital in lower east Limerick, Ireland, and left the same day. The nuns had taken her in, keeping her in the orphanage for the first four years of her life, and naming her Kaitlyn Grace after the hospital where she was given life.. At age four, Kaity is taken into a foster home with a seemingly normal family that has one son of their own a few years her senior named Connor. Though Kaity and Connor got along, they were never close; and those seemingly normal loving parents that she was placed with were in fact fairly abusive to the children, both physically and mentally. Sadly, there are so many children in the system that things often go unnoticed, and two years later they were permitted to take in another child - Talon.
Growing up, Kaity and Talon were inseperable. Through the beatings and the torment that no child should have to endure, they found a bond. In their own private hell, the fantasy they created was the only sun they saw. Kaity was older than Talon by three years, but he was her best friend, and the only person she'd considered truely family. She'd always been interested in mythology and fantasy and things that couldn't seem real to the rest of the world. In that, the pair found their games and their play lands. The fantasy they created was real to them, and Kaity in her strange ability to sense things around her knew in her heart that one day they would be free to live life as happily as they did in their games. That knowledge brought her great comfort.
Connor moved out of their home when Kaity was thirteen. He lived in a nearby flat, and kept in contact with his parents. They'd always favored him over their two foster children. When he left, the abuse directed towards Kaity and Talon intensified. They both knew they could never tell anyone what went on at home. Wether they did or not, their foster parents were quite popular amongst the community and no one would have cast the two a second look; rather, they'd have been disregarded as ungrateful hooligans.
At sixteen, Kaity knew that if her life was going to change, she'd have to take controll. The gut feelings she had that she based most major decisions on had never let her down before, and she was beginning to feel that her time in the home was coming to an end. She spoke often with Talon about leaving. She'd sell paintings on the street and accumulate a boat ticket to the States and live freely. She knew she could take care of herself, and knew that she could make it if she really tried. Talon was not so optimistic, but believed they should stay with their foster parents because it was all they had. Kaitlyn wouldn't accept that, but held out another year with Talon.
She'd been in that house with that family for thirteen years, but seventeen year old Kaitlyn Grace had had enough. One night after a particularly brutal beating, she decided it was time for her to leave. She stole into Talon's small bedroom late at night, waking him with a small shake. She told him that she was leaving, begged him to come with her. When he protested, saying that he couldn't leave just yet, she let her fourteen year old 'brother' know that he held her heart. Hearing footsteps coming down the hallway, she quickly climbed through Talon's bedroom window, promising to herself that she would come back for him as soon as she had enough money to support them both.
After spending three weeks in the streets of various Irish cities, Kaity had sold enough paintings and performed enough odd jobs to scrimp up enough to buy herself a third class ticket on a ship to the States. She decided to consider it an early birthday present, as she would turn eighteen durring the trip across the Atlantic. After arriving in the U.S, she was on the move again. She never stayed in one place long, and after a while decided she needed to find something semi-permanent so that she could settle down and build a life if she ever hoped to go back for Talon. After leaving the foster home, Kaitlyn took on the surname "Morrigantes" after Morrigan, the celtic goddess of war. It seemed to fit, being that her entire life had been just that - a war. She had spent some time in a library in Toledo, Ohio - her most recent stop - to find the most inconspicious place in the States that she could. She settled on Forks, Oregon. It was a small logging town in the Olympic Penninsula that most people hadn't even heard of - as far as she knew. After a long greyhound ride to the town, she arrived, starting her new life. Up until now, she'd stayed on park benches if she had to, but her street paintings she'd sold not long ago in New York City had accumulated enough of a financial cushion that she could get a room at an inn temporarily. Now she really is ready to start her new life.
