Elaine looked at him and smiled. "so you leaved in forks your whole life. I think it is interesting that your life is so boring." She joked with him. She liked to have him to talk to. He seemed to make her happy and feeling like she belonged.
She laughed. "Mine started out. At the age of 3 my dad moved up here to become a carpenter and build houses. Mom moved to some small town in Texas. I had a few friends but not really been really alone. That was when I meet him. Jason was the best boyfriend I could ask for in that town. He always seemed to know how to cheer me up. I was happy. Yes I wore things other then black. This is not my color at all. He died which caused me to become depressed started to wear this color. Mom could not handle me so she kicked me out to live on the street. So I ended up here." She liked having someone to talk to.

"Yep, lived in Forks my whole life," he told her. That was the norm for a lot of students for Forks high. Very rarely did they ever get new students.
Mike was shocked that Elaine was willing to talk about her boyfriend. But if talking would help her then he would let her talk about it. "You know," he said, "I think it'd hurt him to see you like this. He would want you to be happy, and live the normal life you used to. You seem to be getting better, so maybe one day you'll be able to go back to your mom's again. If that's what you want."
They were just about to Port Angeles now.

"well I dout he would want me like this but I am not sure what he wanted." Elaine looked over at Mike. She really was not sure what to do she did not even want her mother back.
"I dout I would go to my mom's house every I again. She is the one that kicked me out. I don't even talk to her on the phone when she calls any more. So I would never go back to her." Elaine was telling the truth. She hated her mom completely now.

"You know he wanted you happy," Mike told her, "And you are clearly not that." They were now entering the city limits of Port Angeles and Mike slowed down to the new, reduced speed limit.
"Why won't you at least talk to her. I'm sure her kicking you out was for your own good. She had to do something," he shrugged his shoulders. "From what you're telling me, it seems like you were in a deep depression. Maybe your mom didn't know how to handle it, and couldn't see you that way?"

She looked at him. "You know the truth is I was not suppose to move up her. She wanted me in a mental hospital. Dad would not let her. I won't forgive her. She did not even try to help me get happy. It just as much her fault she could have tried to get me help."
Elaine looked around in the car. "I am getting better so he can be happy. You did not see me last year or before that so you have no clue what going on in my life." She knew that she would talk to anyone in that town before she talked to her mom. It was as if she was dead to her.

"Oh," Mike muttered. Unsure of what to say about the whole mother situation. He figured it'd be better to keep his mouth quiet, obviously Elaine had strong feeling about her mother.
"Well, as long as your getting better," Mike said quietly, intimidated by the sudden change in Elaine's mood. He could definitely sense that the subject of Elaine's mother was something he shouldn't bring up again. He would have to watch what he said until Elaine got better, her moods changed suddenly at the simple mention of a one thing or another.
They now drove down the main street of Port Angeles, the department store wasn't too far from where they were, and that was their destination and purpose of this trip.

She looked at Mike. "Yes I am getting better lots. I actually going shop with you for something other then black. So it got to be getting better." She then leaned back into the seat and smiled the then laughed. She was thinking about the last thing she wore that was not black.
It had been Halloween night. She was going to a party as a blue peep. She still had the costume somewhere. She had been it because Jason had kissed her and always said she tasted just like sugar. She knew that they were pure sugar and that caused her to make it all year long. Some where she had pictures of her wearing it with the ears and everything. She had even painted her face.
