Leo took in a deep breath as she leaned in closer to him, thinking she smelled amazing, either she was wearing a great perfume or it was just the shampoo or soap that she used. It was subtle but pleasurable just the same. He hoped he hadn't been acting too obvious, feeling like he was probably appearing stalkerish to her. He saw her eyes flicker down to the lunch spot on the schedule. He wondered if he'd be able to convince her to let him sit with her. Of course maybe she'd allow it today while he was still showing her around, but perhaps he'd get her to let him sit with her after today too.
Leo's eyes widened in surprise as she told him that she took Kung Fu. He didn't know many girls who were interested in martial arts, and having this common interest seemed like something that could help them get closer. Leo hoped that Isabelle would feel the same way. "Really? That's so cool!" He said not able to contain his enthusiasm at knowing her hobbies. "I dont really have just one thing I like to draw, it just kinda depends on my mood I guess, sometimes its nature, or animals, othertimes its just random people on the street" He told her. "What about you, what else do you like to do when you're not doing Kung Fu?" He asked.

Isabelle nodded, and bit her bottom lip. He sounded happy she could break wood, and this kept her confidence up. She hated when boys looked at her as if she were incapable of looking after herself. Yeah, she fell a lot, unless she was doing one of her sets, but she could hold her own. The klutz in her was just an incurable disease. Something she couldn’t avoid or knock out. “Kung fu doesn’t really have black belts, they don’t really do titles,” she continued happy he shared something in common with her. She was too excited to blush or panic. “But, I’ve been doing it since I was 6, so I’m basically just that.
She wished she could draw, but even her stick figures came out crooked. She laughed, “My circles don’t even come out right,” she smiled before biting her bottom lip in thought. She wasn’t use to people inquiring about her, “Well, I sing, and do a little dance.”
Isabelle took another step but this time her sneaker didn’t grip the school’s tile floors. She felt herself slip, and looked up to the boy, in one quick action she gripped onto his arm to keep from falling on her back. With a glance to her right she saw the bright yellow sign that read “wet floors.” Her heart skipped a beat as it pounded in her chest. Adrenaline and the fact she was clinging to the boys arm knocked the confidence out of her system, and it was quickly replaced with the familiar heat in her cheeks. “I’m sorry,” stammered as she attempted to plant her feet to the floor. It was difficult and she could feel them slipping a little still.

"That's really cool that you've been doing it since you were so young. Its real dedication to stay with something like that. I was probably 7 or 8 when I started, so you've got a jump start on me" Leo told her with a little flirtatious wink. He hoped it wasn't too much. He imagined that Issy was probably very capable of taking care of herself, a strong woman.
He smiled as she told him about her circles. "A perfect circle can be hard to draw. " He told her honestly. "Singing and dancing is great though...I bet you have a great voice" He told her, hoping he'd get the chance to hear her someday.
It was only another step or two before Issy started to slip, he felt her reach out for him and he instinctively reached out to catch her. He looked at her as she apologize feeling that intense attraction to her once more. "Are you alright? Let me help you.." He said putting his arm around her to try to steady her to her feet"

Isabelle automatically felt the return of the heat in her cheeks, and she had been doing so well. She allowed him to help her balance herself, leaning on him for support before her sneakers could claim a hold on the tiles. She pointed to the yellow sign, “This happens to me a lot,” she admitted frowning now. She wanted to crawl under the tiles, even better maybe she should just go home. Continue the home schooling. At least that way she wouldn’t have to embarrass herself. People just weren’t her forte.
She sighed, “I’m fine, sorry,” she said almost in a whisper as she let go of his arm. “If your gonna show me the cafeteria you can show me from a distance, I wouldn’t want to embarrass you,” she said softly looking to the ground. “I’m clumsy if you can’t already tell. That’s why I do kung fu, increase my balance,” she admitted almost monotone. She waited silently for him to dismiss her.

Leo noticed Issy struggling to remain her balance even with him holding on. "Its alright, I've got you." He reassured her, allowing her time to get settled on her feet, despite the slippery surface. He couldn't imagine her doing kung fu with these kind of balance issues. He just hoped she wore lots of padding to keep herself from getting hurt. Although he assumed that learning to fall was probably a good thing, so maybe it helpd her.
"It's okay" He reassured her as she eventually let go of his arm. He let go of his grip on her as well, not wanting to seem creepy by holding onto her the whole time, but hating to lose the physical contact with her. "I'll show you to the cafeteria and all your other classes right by your side. You would never embarrass me, but if you want to handle this on your own so you don't get embarrassed by your tour guide, I'll understand" He didn't want to keep hanging around her if she was really just trying to get rid of him. Maybe he had already pushed it too far. "I hope your coordination is better when you're sparring, otherwise I'd think you'd hurt yourself more than your opponent"

Isabelle was slightly taken aback with the seriousness. He hadn’t even laughed at her, and now he wasn’t making fun of her. Instead, he was implying he didn’t want her to be embarrassed of him. She laughed aloud now, a snort escaping. She immediately brought her hand to her face to cover her mouth and nose. Isabelle shook her head. It was as if all of her bad habits were rolling on out to greet him, to scare him away. She pointed to herself. “See.”
She smiled, she hoped he was joking. Otherwise she would be really embarrassed. “Kung Fu was suppose to increase my balance, and it has, but only when my mind is completely in it.” She offered with a sigh. It was the truth to a new opponent she seemed too graceful, almost inhuman, until she was being normal. “If I walked around in stances, I would never fall. But I would look really odd,” she laughed. “I’ll concentrate though, that way you don’t have to catch me again,” she smiled gently, and dropped her gaze. He was far too perfect, especially for her. As she promised she stood more erect and confident, as if she were about to enter a sparring match. At once she appeared graceful and fluid. She laughed and went back to being herself. No concentration involved, her shoulders were still back but her posture was somehow different than moments ago.

Leo smiled as he heard the laugh and snort escape from her. He thought it was incredibly cute. Nothing about her was scaring him off or giving him the slightest reason to not want to be around her. "Yes I see, that you're completely adorable" He told her with a smile, knowing that by this point he had already stared and called her beautiful so why not be a complete fool and put himself out there.
Leo nodded as he listened to her, understanding that it was differnet when you were focused on the martial art rather than normal life. He then leaned in as she told him that she'd concentrate so he didn't have to catch her anymore. His voice was soft with a bit of vulnerability to it. "I dont mind catching you" He told her, looking up into her eyes with a small smile before looking ahead of them again as they walked together.

Isabelle bit her bottom lip, and it seemed the blush was never going to leave her cheeks. At least not with his constant string of compliments, although they were needed they were unusual to hear. At least hearing them so often was. She smiled up at him, not completely sure why she felt safe by his side. Like the world would pass and nothing bad would ever happen again. It was a silly thought. “Thanks,” she said with a smile, her voice meek again. After all, compliments were something she never heard at home. Straight “A’s,” got her nor praise, the fact that many told her father she could be a model, never even made him smile.
She giggled when he mentioned catching her. “You’re really sweet,” Isabelle said, her voice a little more normal. She readjusted the back pack again, and continued at their steady pace. “So,” she began, “do they always send you to show new kids around?” Isabelle kept her eyes on the floor before them, paying attention for signs and possible debris.

"You're welcome" Leo responded, smiling back at her. He found it hard not to look at her, as if they were both magnetically charged and attracting one another, but after a few moments he averted his gaze before he made her more uncomfortable or made himself look like a bigger fool. He didnt know how it was that he was letting himself feel like this for her, he hadn't even dated since the change and had no interest in dragging someone else into this, but it didnt feel like he had a choice. He couldnt imagine not allowing this girl in.
"I hope you still think I'm sweet after you've spent the day with me" Leo joked with her, but was secretly afraid that by the end of the day she'd be itching to get rid of him. He had to try to keep playing it cool, to be the guy that the girls liked, now if only he knew what that type was for Isabelle. "Me? Noooo, I was surprised they asked this time." He said stopping himself realizing that could sound bad. "I mean...I only started going here midway through last year."

Isabelle smiled and looked to the floor counting the tiles as they walked. She couldn’t explain why her nervous energy was slowly subsiding. But she wasn’t complaining. It felt good to have the ability of feeling normal, or closer to it. The only other people that she felt this calm with were family, Quil, and…she didn’t want to think his name. But for some reason, it didn’t hurt as much to think of him. The other day she would have wished for this reaction.
She grinned at the word ‘day’. She wouldn’t mind that one bit, but she too wondered if she’d still find him as sweet. She hoped it wasn’t some grand façade. She laughed at his reaction, the long sounding no. Her eyes popped up to meet his, as her eyebrow rose. “Really? So you’re kind of new too than.” She observed smiling widely. Now she didn’t feel too bad. She felt even better at the prospect he may not know Embry, which would mean she wouldn’t have to see him or think of him. She wanted to thank him for existing, he was like a personal guardian and he didn’t even know it.
“How many tile’s do you think there are in this hallway,” she asked suddenly. Looking questioningly at the floor.

As they walked together it seemed everything that Isabelle did made Leo smile. She smiled at him, he smiled back, she grinned, he smiled, she blushed he smiled, she looked away shyly, he smiled. There was something about her that just made him completely happy. He didn't care what she said, what she did, he thought that she was amazing.
He nodded as she asked him if he was new. "Yeah, I'm still pretty new. I dont really know all that many people here yet" He told her, knowing that fact had more to do with his unwillingness to be sociable at the new school. He didnt want new friends, people who might see what he was, risk exposing him to his family. "My family moved from the Makah rez...Did you just move too?" He asked, assuming that was why she was just starting school here.
He stopped walking as she asked him about the tiles and looked down. Did she really ask how many there were? He knew it was an odd question but suddenly felt the urge to find out the answer for her so that she wouldnt have to wonder anymore. It was almost overwhelming. "I dont know...we could count them all"

Isabelle almost bounced in her step. He was semi-new, and didn’t know that many people. Not to mention he was like the guy next door with flawless features. Yup, she couldn’t have done better at making the perfect man if you gave her ginger bread dough and cookie accessories. It made her wonder if it was fate that brought him into her life at the moment. After all her father was getting simply intolerable and Embry had given her mental wounds to match her fathers bruises that were hidden on her skin. But for some inexplicable reason she felt no pain now. All wounds appeared to be healed. She based her odd feelings on the fact that he was just really good at distracting her from her million and one thoughts. He was from the Makah Rez, a place she still had never visited. Though she often heard about it. “Nope, I’ve been home schooled since I was 10,” she stated matter -of -factly. “I finally talked my Dad into letting me have a normal senior year. You know Prom, all the fun stuff,” she admitted. Isabelle still didn’t know why she was actually being talkative. But it felt good.
Isabelle laughed as she realized her question was a bit odd. She’d thought she said it to herself, but apparently not. She smiled widely. “That would take forever, but maybe one day if were super bored we could,” she giggled and started walking again, her hands behind her back.

"Oh really? How was that?" Leo asked her when he found out she had been homeschooled. He thought it would be pretty cool. Getting to stay home all day, sleep in, do your school work in your pajama's with the tv on in the background. Or at least that was his image of what homeschooling would be like. But he understood her reasonings for liking the idea of spending her senior year here. There were a lot of milestones and memories to be had. At the mention of prom it was all he could do to not ask her to go with him right there, before any other guy could get the chance. But he was sure he'd come off like the creepy stalker guy, if his staring hadn't already done the trick. He was already a freak enough with his secret, he didn't need to add stalker to it as well.
"Well I'm glad you talked him into letting you come. Everyone's gotta experience Prom, get those pictures to show your grandkids someday" Leo said smiling, completely able to picture him at Isabelle's side, both of them old and gray with little kids running up to look at the photoalbums with them on the porch of their house. It made his heart fill with joy to have thoughts of that.
Leo joined in her laughter as he suggested that they really could count the tiles. Apparently she didnt want to know that badly, so he no longer felt the desperation to. "Anytime you're bored, let me know. Or if the teachers get too annoying for you, we'll duck out" He said joking but knowing he'd follow her if she wanted to go on a cross country road trip right this second.

Isabelle looked up at him and laughed. “It sucked, very boring, you never make friends, and learn to hate certain teachers all the fun stuff.” She smiled. From all that Isabelle had seen from television school looked fun. All she got was the home work, the tests and quizzes, all the things that no kid, or teen for that matter could ever learn to enjoy. This year was going to be great in that concern, but in reality she had no idea if she would even fit in. She really hoped she wouldn’t have to bug Quil, after all she didn’t want to cause ruffs between friends.
Isabelle looked up at him and grinned sheepishly. “I am too, I just hope I can actually fit in,” she giggled. She doubted she would have grand kids; she’d probably wind up alone with a bunch of cats or something. She shuddered at the thought. Prom, just the word made her worried. What if people had all known since their junior years who their dates would be. No one would even notice the pretty girl in the corner. She wondered if maybe the new guy would even consider her. But new or not, he was way too attractive for her to believe she had a chance. After hearing your father telling you that you’re worthless you begin to believe it. Especially when people you thought you knew walk out on you too.
“I’ll remember the offer,” she promised and pointed her finger at him playfully. “If I try to find you and you duck out on me though, you’ll have to answer to me, the ankle biter.” She laughed making fun of her own height. It was easier to poke fun at herself than to think of things that no longer mattered or listen too closely to his compliments. If she did, she was sure to fall victim to emotions. Honestly she had gotten so used to feeling numb she almost longed for the feeling. Because the odd sensation that he had provided her with when their eyes met was making her feel soft, and defenseless to the hold he so seamlessly had on her. Maybe she did enjoy putting herself through pain, because she was sucking up his compliments like a sponge. She could feel again, and more than she ever had even before the falling out with Embry and new excitement her father found in hating her. She could feel...happiness

"Learning to hate teachers isn't all its cracked up to be" Leo said with light laugh, finding it surprising that something like that would be missed if you didn't experience it. He felt bad when she spoke of not making friends. It was true, school was one of the main places that people their age made friends and met people. If they didn't have school he wasn't sure how else they'd meet people, except maybe neighbors or friends of the family. He was lucky that even when they moved, he still had Matt. He'd always have someone to talk to. "Do you have any siblings?"
"I dont think you'll have any problem fitting in, and if you do then there's something wrong with the people here" Leo said, not really knowing much about the students here. He had stayed away from getting too close to anyone at his new school, but he didn't think she'd have a problem, how could she? "You're always welcome to hang with me if you get lonely"
Leo hoped his offer wasn't too soon. They barely knew each other but he had a desperate urge to make sure they got to know each other better. He knew if he had the chance that they'd get along. He laughed as she mocked her own height and warned him about not ducking out on her. "You have my word, you need me I'll be there, no ditching" He said making an X over his heart.
