Rosalie only nodded, fiddling with the turbo. "There are many cultures out there that have legends passed down through generations. I suppose their credibility decreases over time," she said aloud, forcing confidence in hopes that its true form would propagate. But was 70 years enough time for the Quileutes to lose faith in the legends that their ancestors had put so much stock in?
It was only a matter of time and they would know if their family would be mentioned a little too much. Of course, they were usually subject to speculation. Such a young couple adopting and fostering so many children. But from experience, the rumors died down after a few months. Despite their overwhelming appearance, they were experts in acting insignificant, and eventually people would mostly ignore them. Carlisle would go to work, Esme would appear in a shop or two around town and Rosalie and her siblings would go to school. They would blend in, and no one would suspect anything... right?

"The credibility has to decrease, especially when it ends up being 70, or 80 year olds trying to pass on the story...there's a reason why people always speak of the crazy old people" Edward said, knowing that their were a lot of instances when it was the elderly that had the most knowlege of any given situation.
"If we all stay away from the reservation and any of the La Push kids...maybe word of our return won't even get back to anyone who's heard the legend" Edward said, still hopefully that their arrival here would go unnoticed. It would be much easier to not have anyone know what they were.

Esme found herself unable to produce a single sketch. She no longer had any ideas, a rarity for her. After spending a while staring at the off white page of the sketch bad, turning to drawing something out after she couldn't find a blueprint that intrigued her, she set her pencil down and pushed her chair away from the slanted working desk of her personal study.
It took Esme mere seconds to get downstairs using her vampiric speed, the movements were graceful and quick. She stood silently at the last step of the bottom staircase. The house was quiet, but she could hear the voices of Edward and Rosalie still in the large garage that housed all the Cullen cars.
Esme exited the Cullen house through the front door and headed toward the place two of her adopted children were. As she flashed toward them she glanced her gold eyes up toward the cloud covered sky. It was a relief to be able to walk out in the daytime hours without having to worry about the reactions you could evoke from anyone who saw you. It didn't take Esme long to reach the edge of the garage, she peered in at her son and daughter as they worked. She hadn't forgotten the previous irritation they had caused her, but didn't care to dwell on it - they had figured it out on their own. She gave the two of them a warm smile.
Esme had only bothered to pay attention to the last bit of the conversation the two of them were having, distracting herself with other things to keep from eavesdropping. "We have no reason to go to La Push," she commented, "I'm sure it'll be fine."

sThe wind felt good against her skin, Alice did have a habit of climbing trees, as she sat in one of the tallest trees next to their home. Both she and Jasper had been here before but hadn't lived here long so it felt nice to enjoy being outside for once. Most of the cities they had travelled to in the past were sunny, which Alice did in enjoy from time to time, but were more high risk when it came to being exposed. Where the others were she hadn't a clue but their presences at the moment were forgotten. The sky was a dull gray but she knew that going higher up the mountains, sunlight would peek through. There was a beauty about Forks that none of the humans could appreciate or would come to love.
It'd been about an hour since Alice had found her way up the tree and an hour to long since she'd been alone. The voices of her family members were faint but she could distinguish three different voices near the front of their house. Edward's room was the closes entrance into their home so Alice decided to climb through his window. Unlike the room she and Jasper shared, Edward had decorated his in golds and had one lone and sad leather couch up against the wall. Out of the them though he did have the killer stereo and surround system with a wall full of cds.
The voices of her family were becoming clearer as she made her way down the stairs case and over to the garage, her movements graceful as if she were dancing on air, "The elders will know of our prescence but the younger ones won't be aware." Alice spoke, hoping to reassure the family, "There won't be any problems as long as no one steps over the boundry. I don't see any of us doing that." Alice walked over to where the others were and pulled herself up on the counter to sit, working on cars wasn't something she found interesting though being around her family was. Looking over at Esme, Alice smiled, she'd worn one of the outfits she'd chosen for her, "You look beautiful!"

Esme smiled, turning toward Alice from the direction she had just appeared from. "See, it'll all be fine," Esme reassured. Esme herself didn't intend on crossing the boundary line, she had no reason to, and neither did other members of her family. So there shouldn't be any problem.
"I only look this way because of you," Esme beamed at her newest daughter. It was true, Alice had a good taste in fashion and insisted on choosing outfits for the entire family. Though they tried to be discrete in the two, Alice wouldn't have them dressing in "normal" clothes. Esme didn't mind though, she liked the outfits Alice would pick out for her. She smoothed out a crease in the shirt she wore now.

Rosalie continued fiddling with the object of her task, a slight expression of doubt appearing on her angelic face. she wished she could be as optimistic as her brother. They could certainly act as if they were nothing out of the ordinary, they had been doing so for numerous decades. But it would be unwise if they did not pay close attention to any rumors in the small town of Forks. Luckily, Edward's ability allowed him to do just that, and the Cullens would be able to detect any suspicion.
Her good humor returned when Esme joined them, and later by Alice, and she gave them a small, warm smile. Esme was perpetually optimistic and cheerful, but it was Alice that Rosalie took a bit comfort from. It was hard to deny her talents when they so rarely failed her when they interpreted them correctly. She did mention the elders again, and Rosalie still wondered how much stock they put into their legends. Replacing the last nut on her project, she decided that the only way to find out was to go about their business and see how they reacted. "We're always careful," she added, finding herself starting to agree with her family members. "Carlisle trusts us."
"Let's have a listen," she mumbled, keeping the hood open and reseating herself in the driver's side. She turned the engine on and let it idle for a few moments once more. Though the difference in sound may not have been discernible to a human, Rosalie could detect the change in frequency, comparing it to the sound she had first heard before working on the Volvo. As intended, the airflow had less resistance in the engine, and the gas was more easily injected through to produce faster acceleration, and subsequently, a nice lower rumble in idle. Rosale grinned slightly, satisfied with her modifications. She wasn't sure how much should be done, however. The recent conversation that touched upon their appearance in Forks made her wonder. The Volvo was already flashy enough, perhaps enhanced speed and acceleration would work against them when they arrived to Forks High.

Alice only smiled at Esme's comment, she was after all the one who did dress the family, aside from Rosalie, and brought about the lastest fashion for them to wear. If she'd been a human she would gladly gone to school to become a stylist though why she didn't as a vampire it was due to because she was a vampire. Close contact to humans didn't bother her but they would begin to question and Alice preferred the company of her family most. When Rosalie commented on her previous comment about the elders and being trusted, she nodded in agreement, Carlisle trusted his family as they trusted him to lead them.
Unlike Edward, Alice to had a gift to forsee future events, only when they'd made a decision, though it would have been handy to hear the thoughts of every individual in the room. Would she have liked to hear every thought in a humans, or vampires, mind? Probably not, Alice looked to Edward than Rosalie, her own gift was enough and not to forget her poor Jasper, who had the ability to feel the emotions of others. He'd explained it to her once what it felt like. "They'll be more entralled with our appearance than by our transporation," the look on Rosalie's face said it all.
Working on cars, and the likes, was always something that her other siblings shared, the smell of the gasoline and oil was enough to keep Alice away. Not that she didn't enjoy playing around their latest toys but the speed and the wind racing past her was all she thought about. Rosalie or Emmett would have the magazines with the latest models out, Alice had been wanting to look for a car for herself but just for the weekends.

The voices of his mother, wife and two siblings came to him on the breeze. Emmett was less then two miles from the house, though he had travel much further to hunt his sport. Maybe it was a touch of revenge that made him prefer bears to all other animals he could hunt, or maybe it was their taste. Emmett wasn’t sure but he did know he enjoyed coming up against them, the fight; speed and strength matched almost perfectly but still he had the edge. Stupid creatures. His favorite time was just as they came out of hibernation, he enjoyed their grumpy mood and ease of anger. Today’s hunt had been an adventure, a treat for himself to announce his return to the bear population of the Olympic peninsula.
He listened to the conversation as he ran the rest of the distance. Keen to see his family and watch Rosalie in her element with cars. It tore at him to be away from her, just as the bear had torn at his skin and created his opportunity to meet her and gain this life. Now just a short distance from her and his family, even his vampire speed wasn’t fast enough.
Emmett closed in on the garage in time to hear Alice’s compliment about their appearances. It was true, he and his family were blessed with the amazing looks that came with been a vampire. And although he’d admit his sister and mother were pretty, to him no one came close to Rosalie. He entered the garage with a smile playing on his lips and his mind running with smart, teasing comments. “That’s right, we could go naked in sunlight and they’d only be interested in our looks.” He laughed a rolling deep laugh as he made his way towards the open hood of the Volvo and Rosalie.

Alice was right, humans were always too distracted by the way the Cullens and Hales appeared to ever notice anything else. After decades of living among them, only a handful had ever even commented on the varying color of their eyes and even less had any other suspicions about them. However, it was always prudent to play it safe, especially in places like Forks where it was so easy to mingle and appear human easier. Not many places in the world were like this, where they could almost be human.
Rosalie listened the the low rumble of the Volvo and the chatter from her family when she suddenly recognized the quick, deliberate step that belonged to her Emmett. Her eyes snapped open as she gazed at the treeline in the spot he was expected to appear. Seconds later, he reached them, and Rosalie's face softened with a small smile. Emmett who was her life and comfort walked to the Volvo, and Rosalie quickly stepped out of it, chuckling softly at his comment. "How were the bears?" she asked with a grin.

Emmett looked down into the beautiful face of his angel, her smile lit up her face and to him it rival the sun, the moon and all the stars. He grinned back at her. "Bears? The fight they put up it was like playing with cubs." He laughed. "But i enjoyed it."
He glanced around at his assembled family. "So we going to school? Or opening a garage?" He looked round at the cars and tools. "Hale and Cullen auto mechanics. we take the bite out of fixing your car." He roared with laugher at his down joke and lent lightly against Edward's Volvo still smiling from ear to ear.
